This property was exactly as described: beach across the street, walkable to shopping and restaurants, inexpensive, tasty mai tais with sunset views at Hula’s on the second floor, and a rooftop deck with unobstructed sunrise views of Diamond Head. Kevin, the owner, was responsive and informative. He also knew we were arriving late and made sure to provide coffee for the morning. We would be happy to stay here again.

I grew up in Kapahulu and this was the perfect place for my partner and I to stay. It was walking distance to my family home and a great location for Waikiki restaurants and bars. Best of both worlds! Will definitely rent to stay again!

Location was great but room was small and unattractive. Floor was dirty and last tenant's wash cloth was still in the bathtub, which makes one wonder how well it was cleaned before we arrived.

I struggled to decide whether to book the Red Ginger as I wanted Hawaii to be absolutely amazing and knew that anything other than a fancy hotel comes with risks. Luckily I followed through with the booking because the place was incredible.
Upon first arrival my partner and I didn't know what to think as the suite was small and minimalistic, but we soon found that it was the perfect fit. It was quiet, had no bugs, had a comfortable bed, contained well functioning air conditioning, and had the most amazing views of the beach and crater you can imagine (from the 10th floor deck). It was far better than being up waikiki in the busy hotel district and was just steps away from the pristine beach. The owner was extremely helpful and provided a package that contained area specific information and useful tips. He also responded to any inquires ridiculously fast. This place is excellent for any couples looking for a getaway and my partner and I can't wait to return to this hidden gem.

For the price this place fit our needs just right. I would stay again. The property is dated, but it is kept up very well. I liked that we were literally steps from the beach. Also the Honolulu Zoo is across the street.

I've visited Oahu nearly a dozen times staying in various accommodations. Staying in the Red Ginger was perfect for me. Just at the edge of Waikiki, I can move into the hustle and bustle of tourist central or head out into Oahu with ease!
The room has a tub/shower bathroom, kitchenette with microwave and two-burner stovetop for cooking, as well as a nice sielze fridge, dishes and utensils, cookware and coffee maker.
The staff are great, the room was perfect, it beat out every hotel (by price and offerings) easily.
I will definitely stay here again!

Communication was great with the PM. Room had everything we needed but could use some tea towels and extra dish sponges especially for a longer stay. The light was burned out in the ceiling fan so the room was quite dark especially at night when you’re trying to cook. Nice surprise to have a few beverages chilled in the fridge and the box of macadamia nut chocolates was a nice touch. We’d like to give a shout out to the front desk staff, particularly Roxi for being such great ambassadors and so gracious and helpful. We felt very welcomed after returning post pandemic. We will be back. Thank you everyone 🌴😎😎🌅🙏

What I liked was the location, perfect for the beach and daily walks on the beach strip and shopping. Also very central to the Bus transportation.
What I did not like is that the Hotel had a bad bar element with strange folks making a lot of noise, on several occassions the cops were around the area. The apartment could do with new sheets and comforter, and more towels.

Shoutout to Kevin, who was incredibly flexible with the booking as we navigated COVID.
This is a hotel-sized room with a (nearly complete) kitchen. We could not have asked for a better location: close to the beach, plenty of restaurants, and plenty of shopping. The people at the front desk are warm and friendly and so very helpful (we had a parking situation that they helped to sort out). Caveat: there is no housekeeping service, so strategize your bath towel use!

This unit is adequate for one or two people since it is very small. The bed definitely needs to be replaced! It sags and squeaks. Terrible for people with back problems. The toilet should be upgraded to a unit that flushes faster and with less water. The shower is the worst I've been in since it's for people less than 6 feet tall. I am 6' 3" and had to bend over to get under the showerhead which is uncomfortable. Also the shower water pressure is very low and the water temperature constantly fluctuates while taking a shower. The shower at the beach is 10 times better! Everything else in the unit was good and functional including the television, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and stove. The location of this unit was good. Walking distance to everything including the beach, shopping, and restaurants. The best part of this unit is having access to the 10th floor observation section/deck which gave you a beautiful view of Diamond Head and the beach. I personally wouldn't rent this unit in the future because I love to relax in a good, hot and strong shower. I wouldn’t recommend this unit to people taller than 6 feet because of the shower. I also wouldn't recommend this unit to people who have back problems unless the bed is replaced with a new firm bed that doesn't sag and squeak.

Condo was all we needed to have a great time on our visit to Honolulu & Oahu. we figured out how to find free parking around Kapiolani Park and walked a block to the beach every morning and afternoon. Roof terrace had a great view of the park, Diamond Head and the ocean. Plus Kevin was very good at keeping in touch and providing pertinent information.

It's not the most modern build in Oahu but it is maintained very well. The unit was well stocked with everything a couple would need and bed was comfortable. The property owner also sent very good communications about places to go and things to do. We would rent this again.

We are frequent visitors, military and civilian trips. We prefer WGH condos due to views of Diamond Head and the Zoo that also exclude most of Waikiki - but must ask for that side or access to the sunroof. Proximity to LuLu's also important to us for reasons of nostalgia. The island is overwhelmed by tourists and they must all be frustrated by the lines, but this building is a good base of operations if you have business South/Leeward and know your way around.

Great location! Very close to Waikiki, the Honolulu zoo and you can easily walk or take the bus to get around. Kevin was great to work with prior to arriving and provided great communication to make our check in process and accessing the room extremely easy. The room was a perfect size for my wife & I and the amenities both in the room and the building made our stay very enjoyable! We’d come back again!

The place was small but adequate. It was perfect for me, staying by myself. The place was clean and comfortable. It had a kitchenette with hotplates, fridge and some kitchen utensils and dishes. Loved the surrounding! From the sundeck you could see Diamond head, the ocean and Honolulu zoo. You could even hear thw wild animals from your room!

Spent 8 lovey days in Waikiki at the Red Ginger. The place was charming, great location, super clean and had everything I needed. I highly recommend this property for a lovely travel experience! I'd definitely come back!!

Excellent location, just a walk across the street to the beach. Great place for the price. This is a small studio beach condo. Good amenities near by. Refrigerator and freezer were a little small if you plan to stock up on food, and the bed was a pretty soft for any with back issues. I would definitely stay there again.
