We had a lovely time in Poipu! Jack & Susan are wonderful hosts. They are quick to respond and helpful. Their place is in the best location on the island with easy access to roads that take you anywhere you want to go and a short walk to the beach. The bed is very comfortable and the unit has everything one could need. It was very clean and perfect for our island get away.

The listing is exactly what you get. A comfortable, clean, and quite spacious retreat near all of the excitement in Poipu. The AC works wonderfully - between that in the living room and the fan in the room the temperature was very comfortable. The condo has everything you need for a relaxing stay. We especially enjoyed the balcony with a partial ocean view and the high, architectural ceiling. The hosts were very communicative and luckily we had everything we needed for our stay so didn’t need to bother them at all! I HIGHLY recommend checking out the athletic club which you will have access to. Top tier gym, amazing pool for the family, and there is food and drink service. The condo is steps away from Poipu beach and a short drive from shops and restaurants. We will would definitely stay again!

Another aspect we appreciated was the air conditioning. While opening all the louvers and the door to the lanai (we kept the screen closed at all times) allowed the trade breezes in and kept the unit comfortable most of the day, the AC was welcome when going to sleep, or the couple of days when the humidity was high and the breezes low, and once when there was maintenance work right outside the property. The bedroom does not have its own AC but the living room unit is more than plenty to keep the bedroom cool.
Should you find issues, call management and they will address them immediately. The owners also communicate to make sure everything is running smoothly and are open to feedback. I had arranged this trip as a surprise for my wife and the owners took the time to write her a personal welcome note.

The hosts were very kind and responsive. The office staff at check in was easy and we appreciated how quiet the property was. We LOVED how they offer all the necessities for an amazing time at the beach. We ran into some big housekeeping concerns, some tech issues with TV and wet carpets from recent carpet cleaning but the hosts were very gracious about the entire situation. The condo would have been perfect if we didn’t need to spend so much time inside due to unforeseen medical problems. I was able to utilize the gym across the main road and that was amazing!

We totally enjoyed our time at Jack and Susan's place. It was our second visit to Kauai and the Poipu Beach area is definitely the best place to be. The hosts were very responsive to all requests and the balcony overlooking the ocean was the perfect place for both morning coffee and evening cocktails :-). As mentioned in other reviews, the bedroom does get warm, although the fans certainly help. However, the location can't be beat- was very sad to leave!!!

This property is well maintained and stocked well with most amenities, but you will need cooking items like seasonings and oil. So, we grilled instead. Quieter unit at the far edge of the property. Owners were good communicators and made it easy.

The unit is okay. It has AC. Since it is on the top flloor without that it will be very warm. But the building is old and need some upgrade( broken light fixtures in the bathroom and flickering lights in the bed room) . This unit is the farthest from the beach.

Hosts offered to reimburse us for a new beach umbrella when we realized a previous guest hadn’t returned it which was incredibly kind! Would love to stay again.

Enjoyed the view fromvthe lanai, short walk to the beach where you could snorkel, surf, swim or just relax. Walked to beach in the evening for sunset and moonrise. Condo was well equipped, although we only cooked breakfast and one dinner as to buy all the ingredients, spices, oil, etc was just easier to eat out. A/C is in living area so bedroom can bea little stuffy whereas living area was quite chilly. Perfer fresh air so only used it for sleeping.

One of the best vacations we have ever taken. We didnt spend a whole lot of time in the room other than eating a quick meal and sleeping. We knew that is how it would be. It is small but has a relaxing balcony. I didnt realize the pool is actually across the street when I booked. It didnt bother us though because we only spent one afternoon there, we preferred other activities. We enjoyed staying on the southside of the island this time. Would recommend for a small family with young kids or a couple!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay - the place was clean, Jack and Susan communicated well, and it was an easy walk to the pool across the street (or you can drive up, there's plenty of parking) and easy walk to the beach. The beach has a sidewalk that leads to other beaches including Poipu Beach and Brennecke's. Night one of our stay we walked down to Poipu Beach and saw 1 monk seal basking in the sun, and 2 sea turtles. We also were able to travel around the island - we drove about 40 mins to Waimea Canyon, about 45 mins to the Wailua River on the east side for kayaking/hiking, and about 1.5 hours total to the North Side near Hanalei for hiking and exploring up there. If you're looking to enjoy the beautiful beach and have everything you need within walking distance, it was a fantastic stay. The only thing I will note - the A/C unit is not in the bedroom, so we used the provided fan to help blow the cold air to us - we were not hot doing this and had no issues. Also, I requested new towels/wash cloths on day 4 of our stay, but was told no as this unit does not utilize the cleaning services of the Kiahuna Plantation - I did not contact Jack and Susan about this since we were leaving on day 5 anyway, but something to note if you are travelling with more than two people and need more supplies.

We enjoyed our stay in this condo ! The views of the ocean and tropical foliage were gorgeous. We liked the location on the outer edge of Kiahuna . It was quiet. We loved going to Little Fish Coffee , which was nearby . Poipu Beach was just a 10 min walk. The furnishings in the condo were very comfortable .

This little condo is well located, a little walk to the beach, and not far from Koloa with a few restaurants and shops. The view is exactly as pictured and we were comfortable during our brief stay. There are a couple of needed minor repairs but the owners already have plans to correct them. Owners are pleasant and very responsive.

We've stayed at the Kiahuna resort for years, trying different units. We love the area and the resort itself, and this unit was good. It is on the far eastern edge of the resort, and we were traveling with a family group, so there was a lot of walking for people to come to and from. Won't be picking a unit that far away again. Next time we go, we'll be sure to ask the unit number and look at a map, too.
The pictures are also misleading. With the clever use of angles and a telephoto lens, they obscure the fact that about 80% of the view through the glass doors is obscured by a tree and the roof of the Marriott. The beach they zoom in on isn't actually the Kiahuna resort beach... It's a beach for the resort next to Kiahuna. The Kiahuna beach is a 15 min walk the other direction. Not a disaster, and the view grew on us the longer we stayed, but it wasn't what either of us were expecting based on the photos.
Overall, still a good unit and one I'd recommend! The owners were responsive and helpful and replaced a broken coffee maker very quickly.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property and would come back in a flash. The hosts were exceptionally attentive and lovely to work with - quick to answer questions and provide advice. Having communicative hosts always improves the stay. The property was as described and, as another reviewer mentioned, the view from the balcony was better than the photos. It’s not fancy, but met our needs perfectly.
This particular condo building is near the road, behind the Marriott, and is one of the farther buildings from the beach. However, we didn’t mind the 5 (or so) minute walk to the beach in the slightest and the building location was convenient for visiting the pool/athletic club.
Two tips: 1) having an adjustable/tiltable beach umbrella is a must - you can rent one for $30/week from the towel/surfing hut on the great lawn down by the beach. 2) If you like playing in the waves and swimming, having closed-toe swim shoes is helpful to protect your feet from rolling coral and rocks.
Overall, we loved the property, enjoyed swimming at the Kiahuna beach, and really hope to come back. Thanks for a great stay!

Very nice condo with lots of available parking close by. Kitchen is well stocked and we used the ice chest frequently. There also was two snorkels, a body board and two sand chairs. Everything you need for a day at the beach. The king bed is very comfy. Just a great place! We loved walking through the beautiful grounds. My daughter also used the gym across the street. She was very impressed with the equipment and open air atmosphere. Will definitely stay there again!

Unfortunately the unit was not very clean (hair on the bathroom floor and dirty dishes in the kitchen cabinets) and in need of some tlc and updates. We found everything we needed to prepare meals but we did need to hand wash everything before and after use since we found the dishwasher did not work well.

This is the third time we've stayed at this property. The condo is ideally located, a ten minute walk from the beach; every morning we would walk down and see sea turtles resting and once a pair of seal monks frolicking in the surf. The condo itself is wonderfully stocked with cooking gear; the bed and pull out sofa are both comfortable. The lanai is perfect---we ate all our meals out there. The orientation of the condo is idea---no sun on the lanai in the morning but a great view of the ocean, and some sun hitting the two lounge chairs in the afternoon, perfect for drying wet swimsuits. The hosts, Jack and Susan, are great communicators, and are truly interested in the comfort and well-being of their guests. We would not consider staying anywhere else.

Susan and John were very gracious hosts, keeping in touch throughout our stay with tips to make our trip more fun. The condo had everything we needed for a great beach vacation, and the kitchen was very well stocked. The pool and open-air gym were fabulous, although I was surprised to find that they were across the street from the condo (about a 5-minute walk), not on the beach side. The condo has a nice ocean view, but the walk to the beach is about ten minutes. I would recommend this place to anyone comfortable with those walk times.

My husband and I enjoyed the property, it’s location, and working with Susan, the owner.
It’s conveniently located to the beach and is in between the Marriott and the Sheraton, all walkable, just minutes away, especially if you’d like to enjoy a sunset cocktail. Also walkable is Keoki’s restaurant (👍) across the street, as well as other eateries.
Overall, the condo was very comfy, clean and met all our needs. The only things I’d add to the condo would be a tea kettle (instead of using a sauce pan) and a 9x13 pan (or cookie sheet) for the oven.

The owners, Jack and Susan, were extremely easy to work with and quick to respond to the few questions we had. The description of the property is accurate and they made it so easy to enjoy our stay in their unit while we were on vacation!
The unit is nicely positioned between the pool/gym area and the 'Great Lawn'. There is a cross walk to stop traffic if needed but we only used it once - the road is not very busy and most people do drive the slow speed limit on the road. We enjoyed the view of the ocean from the deck which this unit has - especially in the morning with coffee. The unit included beach chairs, umbrella, snorkel/mask and boogie board which were a nice plus to avoid hauling all of that from the mainland. The outdoor grills were very convenient to this unit and we used them several times. (We didn't notice any road noise and the roosters didn't bother us at all.) We were within walking distance via beach and side streets to some local shops which had a farmer's market on Wednesdays. Koloa is also nearby with their walking trail and the grocery store there is reasonable.
The 'Great Lawn' was beautiful and easy to get a chair or spot during the day or for the 'sunset rush'. The snorkeling in front of the resort and up the beach was good, very easy to do and we had a lot of fish and turtles. We also enjoyed the surfing lessons which were on the beach in front of the resort.
The Popui location made it easy to travel to all of the beaches, the hiking and other sites on the south end, the west side and then day trip up to the north or east side. The south end was a good fit for us - plenty to do and drier weather, I heard, than the north. One tip is to book any dinner reservations in advance if there are certain places to wish to go during your holiday.
Overall we had a wonderful unit, excellent owners and a fantastic stay at Popui, Kauai and we definitely recommend staying at Susan and Jack's condo!

This property is perfectly located in Poipu, with access to the Poipu Athletic Club and pool, and a wide variety of restaurants right across the street. The view from the lanai is far better than pictured in the owners photos. It's on the 3rd floor, which may be difficult for some but it wasn't a problem for us. The air conditioning was a major plus, as a lot of the properties don't offer this amenity at this time.

Kiahuna Plantation is a great property as it is on the beach, lots of lawn and gardens, beach hut with rentals and surf lessons, and access to the Poipu Athletic Club that is across the street. They had great food and drinks, slide, gym and various sport courts.
This unit was further away from the beach, but closer to the Athletic club, so we were fine with the location. The view of the ocean was wonderful, along with the A/C that only some of the units have, so that was a plus.
The unit had some updates, but regular updates would be nice. Bed was comfortable, but sofa bed for our child was not very comfy. The roosters seem to hang out near the parking lot, so we woke to their wake up call every morning. We didn’t mind it as it makes Hawaii special with the roaming roosters, but maybe some visitors would mind. The bathroom got stuffy after showers due to the nature of humid Hawaii, but there were lots of fans available to keep the air flowing.

Jack and Susan's condo was the perfect stay for us to visit the south part of Kau'ai. We enjoyed the walking distance to Poipu's beaches and the proximity to restaurants and shoppings. My kids had tons of fun using the bodyboards provided in the closet and we all loved the view from the Lanai during our meals! Even if it is one bedroom condo, it was comfortable for the 4 of us, my children are 14 and 12 and didn't want to sleep together anymore, we used the sofa bed and also a futon on the ground.
Susan was was incredibly helpful and responsive with a lot of information provided before and during our stay, definitely a 5 stars host!

This was the last stop on our island hopping honeymoon and it did not disappoint! The apartment was plenty large with a good cross breeze thanks to the screened doors. Although the building is close to the road, we did not hear any loud road noise to speak of (just roosters!) Kiahuna beach was a short shaded walk with plenty of chairs and towels to use. We thought this was one of our favorite beaches due to the large “lawn” that goes right up to the sand that allowed us to enjoy the views without the sand if we wanted. Owners had great communication and were there for any of our needs. Would love to stay again!

Close enough to the beach, far enough from the crowds.
Short 5-ish minute walk to the beach, 5-10 minute walk to restaurants, shops, and the athletic club. We had the ease of access without the noise of increased tourism at the front step.
The unit was spacious, clean, and relaxing. Property management and staff were easy going and pleasant. Check in/out a breeze.
Property owners were quick with communication, knowledgeable, and helpful.
Rental cars were expensive if/when available. We rented bikes for the week, and again, the location was great - walkable and bikeable to all of the necessities, many beaches, and bus stops nearby for reaching beyond on the island.
Rooster crowing at midnight and whenever in the morning. Guess what - that’s Kauai! We chuckled about it, and it never interrupted our sleep. Get the Kauai chickens sticker. ;-)
We loved it. Looking forward to returning in the future.

Jack and Susan’s condo was perfect for our stay! We showed up late from our delayed flight and had a little trouble finding the exact location of the registration office but security was super cool and helped us find it and location of the key box was waiting for us. The location of the condo in Poʻipū was a perfect landing point for us to go to either side of the island but I would say much more convenient to go west. About the condo... me and my girlfriend give it 5 stars. First thing she said was she loved it and it was perfect! It was very comfortable for two people. The bed was big and comfortable and the fans provided made it even more comfortable. The highest temperature while we were there was around 83 and having the shutters open at night made it really cool, that I even covered up at night. The entire condo was very clean. The bathroom and shower were clean and roomy. The kitchen provided everything we needed and also the ice machine came in very handy to us, since we brought our own water containers we were able to have cold water all day with us! The lanai was beautiful and very private! We could partially see neighbors across the way but still very private. The view of the ocean and palm trees were beautiful from the lanai and the birds chirping and visiting us were also a treat! We also had gecko visitors that we got to enjoy looking at! I thought the roosters were going to be an issue but even at 4 am... it really didn’t bother us. Also the traffic that passed through the street wasn’t so bad... maybe because we come from L.A. where the sound of cars are always present, it presented itself as a treat to have less city noise so the cars didn’t bother us. Over all I would say 10/10 for the condo 10/10 for Jack and Susan answering any questions we needed taken care of and 10/10 for location! Thank you very much for letting us stay in your condo and I could definitely say... that this was my best trip to Kauai I’ve had! I hope the energy and love we left in Kauai passes onto the next couple or family that visits. Mahalo
