We had stayed in two other condos in this community before and knew the location is great. This condo is well equipped, but our experience was mixed.
We rented it in late August for the three AC advertised. The AC in the master worked well, but the living room and loft weren't cooling down. For the first two nights three of us crammed into the Master and one slept on the sofa. We contacted the manager the next day, but no one came. Sparing a lot of details here but it was not until the 3rd day, and only through my own troubleshooting (Google, YouTube, AC website) that I discovered the loft AC was somehow set in heat mode so cooling didn't kick in! I wouldn't have expected it, since condo instructions said AC was preset and guests only needed to adjust the temperature. It was out of desperation that I discovered a hidden panel in the AC remote, diagnosed, and did a reset. It worked great after, but by now more than half of our stay was over.
Second, while the condo was clean overall, we were startled by a few cockroaches in the kitchen and bathroom.
We were on vacation and tried not to be bothered by small stuff, but overall our experience wasn't the best, esp. compared to previous stays in other condos in the same community. I wish we had received more tips or timely help to spare us the two very uncomfortable nights and a lot of energy finding work-around and trouble shooting AC while we were supposed to be enjoying a care-free vacation.

The condo itself was great as far as location at Turtle Bay, cleanliness and a nice decor. Kitchen was well stocked but sugar ants kept showing up all over the inside of the dishwasher; when reported, the manager said they were probably thirsty and she could arrange an 'additional' service if we'd like. Since we assumed that fee would come out of our pocket, we opted not. The bath towels, hand towels and washcloths were nice but understocked for our family of four and thus, we laundered daily. Probably the biggest frustration was having A/C but not feeling free to use it (much) as the welcome notebook stated that electricity is high in Hawaii and we'd be charged extra if it was revealed (on the bill, I assume) that we over used. However, overuse wasn't quantified and we were forever second guessing ourselves about when to turn it on and for how long. Daytime temps were between 86 - 92 over the 10 day stay and one of the reasons I chose this condo was because it had A/C. The listing mentions opening windows to let the Tradewinds cool the spaces, but at high temps outside & not lots of breeze, it was often very uncomfortable, with fans! I'd strongly encourage clear instructions & examples of "too much electricity use' and what extra charges would likely be. We loved our time on the North Shore ~ thank goodness for a/c in the car & wonderful breezes on the beaches, especially our favorite: Hukilau. A positive: this condo includes 4 beach chairs, coolers & nice beach towels!

Great location with access to some amazing almost private beaches. The condo was well equipped with very comfortable beds. Our daughter who is a student at UH visited us and loved the loft bed and appreciated the split AC. Although the Turtle Bay Resort pools are not part of this rental, we discovered you can rent a daybed for a reasonable rate for 9 hours and have access to the pools and hot tubs. You can also rent a beach cabana or lounge chairs with an umbrella at the beach next to the Beach House restaurant. The grounds at the condo were lovely and the pool there was perfect to relax in at the end of the day. We really appreciated the beach chairs and boogie boards. We would rent here again. Thank you

We loved our condo and it's vicinity to the beach and Turtle Bay Resort. The beach equipment and ice chest were great, beds we're comfy, and kitchen is very well stocked. We recommend snorkeling at Sharks Cove and the bay by the banyan tree.

It was so nice staying at a condo with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms after spending 3 nights in a small hotel in Waikiki. The water filter on the sink was great. Being able to wash wet towels from the beach was also a plus. We could walk to the beach from our condo. We would definitely stay here again!

Turle Bay is a beautiful facility. The grounds were well maintained and the amenities of great value. The residence we were in was perfect for two couples.
We needed more wash clothes per bathroom. We had plenty of bath towels and hand towels.

Fabulous stay on the North Shore. Great space—exactly as shown in pics. Conveniently located, though expect to do a lot of driving anywhere you stay on the North Shore. Everything is beautiful, and there is lots to do. There are many eateries and food trucks nearby. So fun!!! Would stay again anytime.

My husband and two adult children and I had a great time staying at this condo. The location is awesome on the North Shore. It was so clean and well equipped with everything you need. The use of their beach towels, beach chairs, snorkels was amazing. We will highly recommend you to our friends who visit Oahu and hope to come back and stay with you again. The property is updated throughout and everything you need is included. Very short walk to the beach. Wagon to cart all your beach items was a big plus. Snorkel gear, beach umbrellas, and 4 beach chairs included. Even sand toys for the kiddies. Kitchen well equipped!
Only one very minor suggestion is to include shower soap/body wash.
Super good price for all you get and very clean upon checkin. Thanks again for hosting. Aloha.

We loved the location of this condo. My husband golfed at Turtle Bay and we used their beach next to Roy Yamaguchi's Beach House. The Master bed was super comfortable with the best sheets I have ever slept on! There was also a loft bedroom and bathroom. While just two of us, this would work well for up to four people. Highly recommend!

There is such a large sitting area in the loft. A futon or extra bed of some sort would be a great addition! My two teens aren’t crazy about sharing a bed, and another spot to sleep would be nice.

First time on the North Shore and have fallen in love! Turtle Bay Resort is exceptional but staying at the resort is pricey! This condo is probably nicer than any room you could have minus the ocean view! We enjoyed walking to the Resort restaurants and enjoyed the sunset at the Sunset bar every night!
If you like walking, this is your place with great trails all around! And just because I have to mention it, the linens are exquisite! Not your average vacation rental!

After staying in Honolulu for 3 nights the vacation rental was a breath of fresh air. We walked into a cool breeze and the birds singing of the lanai.
Kitchen had everything you might need and more.
I would have liked a little more inside on owners favorite local eateries and the best fruit stands. A map of the resort would have been useful too.
After 2 days our daughters asked if we could finish out or vacation here instead of going back to wakaki. We love the north shore!

Highly recommend!!! This was the perfect place for me, my husband, brother, and sister-in-law to stay for the week. It is a perfect apartment with everything you need- literally! Beach chairs, towels, snorkeling gear- you name it, they have thought of it! They warn about the AC only being downstairs, but let me tell you as someone who sleeps at 68 degrees every night, I was perfectly fine upstairs! They have provided many fans all over the apartment and it gets cooler at night. We walked to Turtle Bay several times for dinner and drinks and it was so nice to stay at this VRBO and get the same experience without paying the $$$ to stay at the hotel. We would absolutely stay again!!

The whole family enjoyed their stay. The unit had plenty of room and had every amenity imaginable, like a great choice of beach chairs along with beach umbrellas. My daughter enjoyed the loft bedroom and my husband and I enjoyed sitting on the lenai. The decor is very pleasant and adds to the wonderful environment. This condo was perfect for our family of 3. The directions and instructions given were crystal clear. The size of the condo allowed us to spread out for quiet time, while the large living room provide ample space when it was time to be together. Everything is provided in the kitchen and laundry areas. The condo is steps from the pool. The neighborhood was silent. We ventured out to every corner of the island during the day, so it was really nice to come home to such a comfortable place! We highly recommend the space...unless you want it right when we want to use it ;-)

Really disappointed to arrive and find out that the futon in the loft was not there. We have two teens that prefer not to share a bed anymore so I selected this unit largely on the fact that they had a bed and a futon in the loft. I called the property manager when we arrived and he just said they had taken it out a while ago, sorry. Unit itself was ok. Partially updated and well equipped. Didn't have much in way of a starter kit (ie no DW soap, etc). Location in Turtle Bay with easy access to the trails and beaches was great. Nice to look out over golf course towards ocean.

This condo deserves at least 10 stars! Everything was clean and well-maintained. It was great to have access to beach chairs, umbrellas, and a cooler. We had an issue once with not being able to unlock the door, but the property manager was there within 5 minutes. I would highly recommend this property! We've stayed in four different condos in Kuilima Estates East, and this one is by far the best! We'll definitely be back!!!

My husband, father and I enjoyed our stay here at Kuilima Estates condo. I really appreciated the air conditioner in the main bedroom as the weather when we visited was unusually hot and humid. All accommodations were great. We had a few issues with the entry gate into the lot and with the electronic door lock but other than that, had a wonderful stay here!

We really enjoyed our stay. We had everything we needed in the condo and the only time we needed something, the response was immediate and helpful. The location is amazing. We found the beds comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. There were gobs of toys and chairs and goodies, another money saver. It was clean and parking was easy. Location: we had to drive one block to park with all the stuff we carry for the kids, but the beach is so close. Snorkeling there is amazing! The area was easy to travel around and close to the sites. On our trip we saw monk seals, sea turtles, frogs, lizards, and dolphin. My daughter enjoyed the egrets at the golf course, lining up and eating like an army. We didn't eat at any of the hotel restaurants, that isn't our style, but they are within walking distance. We would rent here again!Mahalo to Vince and Beth for a great vacation home!
