The unit was clean, beautiful views. The beach and 2 swimming pools were so close. A great location. Thomas was great- check in and out were easy. Beach towels and beach chairs were available for use. The little patio was wonderful to use in the evening and listen to the waves hitting the shore. Highly recommend and would stay there again!

My stay at Kaanapali Shores was an exceptional experience. The location was perfect, offering stunning ocean views and easy access to local dining and attractions. The condo provided ample amenities for beach activities, and kitchen was well equipped making every day enjoyable and hassle-free.

They property was perfect for me and my wife, kitchen was pretty well equipped. Bed was very comfortable, and the area is very close to lots of shopping and restaurants.
When it is hot the AC does take a bit to cool down the place, but once cool it is very comfortable.

We just returned from our stay at the condo a couple days ago and would give it more than 5 stars if we could. The fires were very recent so we were somewhat hesitant to go, but Thomas provided a very detailed description of what to expect, enabling us to make an informed decision. The condo was perfect for us - two people. It had all the amenities we needed for daily trips to the beach (beach towels, ice chest, beach chairs). It was well stocked with dishes and items for cooking. It's a great location - walking distance from several restaurants and shops. The views from the balcony were stunning. We enjoyed amazing sunsets.
Thomas was particularly helpful because I had some surprise business needs come up during the trip requiring special resources. He contacted the front desk to get me some info and recommended business resources nearby. He was very responsive and supportive of all of our needs.
We're so glad we went and specifically that we stayed at this wonderful condo!

My now Fiancé and I stayed at Kaanapali Shores under the VRBO of Thomas for ten days. I have used VRBO only a couple of times but I can say that Thomas went above and beyond! He would check in periodically making sure everything was going smoothly and that needs were being met. The room is very well kept and basic beach items are readily available that many may not bring for a vacation. During our stay, the fire of Lāhainā broke out. We lost power/ internet coverage prior to the fire but Thomas was still making sure we were alright and reminding us that there are emergency lights/ candles available in the room. We had an amazing time and highly recommend this for your stay in Maui!

We had a great week at the KS.
Thomas reached out several times during our stay to make sure our stay was perfect. Unit was clean and well stocked. Resort was great with the two pools, restaurant and quick access to the beach.
Not a lot of ‘sit down’ restaurants in the area but tons of take out places and variety with the strip mall across the street, down the road and the food trucks right next to the property.
We definitely would recommend staying here. It’s only a studio but ample room for two with the small kitchen, sitting area and small deck overlooking the grounds and beach view.

My husband and I had the best week staying at this condo! To begin with, the check in and out process was great with simple, detailed notes. The location of the rental inside the building was perfect because it was close to the elevator without hearing anyone coming in and out. The closeness made the transition to the beach and parking garage less than 2 minutes. The location of the building is perfect because it's directly off the main highway, right next to a huge food truck court (about 20 trucks), across the street from a large grocery store and strip mall (massage spa, Jazz bars much fun to hear live musicians strumming guitars). We didn't use the pool because we're big beach goers but families seemed to really be enjoying the pool. We snorkeled with turtles and lots of fish right at the beach! We loved that we easily found a parking spot every time we parked and that the parking lot felt safe because of the attendants at the gate. We loved drinking coffee and evening drinks on the lanai every day. We will be back!

This is our 3rd stay at Kaanapali Shores and this was the best unit we have stayed in. The view from the lanai is beautiful and the unit had everything we needed for our 2 week stay. The host, Thomas, got back to us within minutes of us texting a question and he would follow-up to make sure we were satisfied with his answer. We are both over 80 and this resort is perfect for us. The resort is, also, great for young families. There is ample open space for young people to play. Having 2 large pools is great. Although the pool by the restaurant/bar is not designated for adults only it is quieter with fewer families.We look forward to a return trip!

Location was convenient and met our needs. I had made full payment back in January and we had a family emergency a few days before our trip and our teen son joined us last minute on our trip and we were charged an additional fee for his stay. The hotel portion of this building allows for 3 people to stay in their units, the vrbo owner does not, so that was a misunderstanding and we’re told to pay an additional charge $40 per night or have our reservation cancelled at about 9pm that evening while we were already in bed for the night. Of note, a similar unit was renting below us for about $130 less a night and was available during our stay, which I was researching for backup, so shop around some before you commit, pretty sure I overpaid. The unit itself was stocked with kitchen supplies and overall decent. The view is nice and there will be some pool noise but the resort seems to be good about shutting it down at 10pm. Th short walk to the beach and location to parking was nice. We didn’t spend much time in the unit because we were out hiking and spending time on the island, so it makes a good home base. I used the laundry facilities a couple of times to wash clothes and towels. There is a vacuum in the room, so I cleaned mid week to make sure things were well taken care of.

We loved our stay at this property. I could sit on the balcony and watch the whales in the morning with the binoculars provided. The room is small but provided everything we needed including nice, big beach towels (and lots of hooks to hang them on to dry), beach totes, and nice beach chairs. The waves could be rough at the beach but there is a larger beach area just a few steps south. The food trucks next door were amazing and had a nice place to sit and eat. Thomas was always available to answer any questions. We highly recommend this property! Gorgeous view!

In our opinion “Thomas and crew” did not make a good faith effort to disclose the construction going on at the hotel. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by extremely loud jackhammering sounds all around our unit. The noise shook the room, bed and floors. This was made worse by an owner a few doors down who was using a sander to refinish his front door (on the weekend). The construction “notice” was buried in a lengthly description of endless boasting of upgrades and improvements made to the unit. The unit is nice and has a view of buildings. Not the ocean. At least not unless you sit in the very far left corner of the lanai. Pool chairs were dirty. Many of them were ripped or cut. Very worn out and not cleaned at all. Inside the unit, there were numerous stickers all over the place dictating obvious things such as not putting metal in the microwave, or which towels you should use in which ways. We were then accused of using the wrong towels for makeup removal (of NON waterproof makeup/easily washable). There are so many rules and countless text messages demanding that we give feedback, send our flight information prior to arrival, etc etc. It was very off putting and hindered on what we expected to be an escape in Maui. I would 100% NOT recommend renting any property from “Thomas and crew” unless you’re up for a misleading listing.

We enjoyed our stay at this well-appointed and spacious condo. Thomas made an incredible effort to accommodate our schedule and keep us abreast with critical updates, which we appreciated.
Upon arrival, we immediately noticed the simple but tasteful furnishings. Our favorite feature of the space was the balcony view of the ocean. Every morning we felt rejuvenated from sleeping on a comfortable bed and being greeted by incredible views.
Stocked with pantry essentials, quality kitchen tools, and cookware, it had all the basics to cook a great meal. Sadly, A storm had just come through, so we could not appreciate the beach during our stay. Pools and jacuzzis were crowded, but we did enjoy them nonetheless.
We have stayed in other condos on Maui, but this was by far the cleanest one. We did not see or feel grime nor witness any insects in this condo which is unusual for any accommodation on the islands. I even felt comfortable enough to walk barefoot on the carpet! Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would certainly consider staying here again.

Great location and close to everything Kaanapali Beach has to offer. Super walkable to the best stretch of beach, Duke’s Restaurant, Times Market, Snorkel Bob’s across the street. Host Thomas communicated with us throughout the trip to check on our stay. Kaanapali Shores offers great ocean views, a beautiful beach, and two pools though the beach front pool was under construction. The pool construction was a little annoying though we noticed several resorts along the beach had construction projects ongoing too.

My wife and I had an awesome stay at Kaanapali Shores. I did a lot of research and then had a chance to see other properties during our stay. Kaanapali Shores is one of the best values in the area. The resort grounds and amenities can rival some of the more expensive resorts to the south, and it is way nicer than comparably priced units to the north. Being right next to the grocery store (full-sized) and food trucks was a huge bonus, plus other good food options within walking distance.
I'll say it's not worth staying here for it's beach. It is small (and sometimes non-existent) and there are big rocks just into the water. However there is a larger beach a few minutes walking to the south, and there are a number of great beaches within a 10-15 minute drive.
Now for the unit. The view is spot-on, the unit was super clean, and it was stocked as well as any VRBO I've stayed in. Lots of basic necessities as well as beach chairs, cooler, boogie board and more. The bed was very comfortable, and it was relatively quiet considering it overlooks the pool and is right off the elevator.
Thomas is by far the best host I've ever worked with. I had a negative experience with a previous VRBO so I was especially looking for reviews with positive host feedback. The reviews were correct. His communication is awesome, answering all questions immediately and reaching out during important steps in the process. It is very important to him that guests have a superior experience. There were no issues at all, but if I did have a problem, I was confident it would be handled quickly. He gives a very detailed run-down and area guide ahead of time that addresses most questions. He really did think of everything.
I would absolutely stay in this unit again. We had friends staying in another unit on property, NOT owned by Thomas. Their experience was much different than ours, and it made me even more thankful to stayed in Thomas' unit.

Came here for a wedding and stayed 5 nights. This condo was absolutely perfect for me and a friend. We enjoyed our coffee and breakfast every morning on the Lanai. The location is perfect and gives breathtaking views of the pool and ocean. Thomas was an excellent host and was always quick to respond when I would reach out. This place had everything you could need. So many extra touches, too. Such as beach chairs, an ice chest, even beach bags to haul our stuff down to the pool and beach everyday. If I could give this listing 10 stars I would. Everything was fantastic, even better than what the pictures show! Host is really great at communicating, both before and during the stay. We had no issues, but I imagine if you did they would be solved very quickly. The condo is stocked with everything you need. On top of that, the entire resort is beautiful, pools are clean, and the resort staff are some of the most friendly people you will come across. Beach was accessible during our stay, although we didn’t utilize it, there were plenty of people out there. There is beach gear and beach towels available in the room, and also towel service and more rentable beach gear through the resort, so don’t have to worry about packing those. There are also plenty of walkable shops and restaurants, although I would recommend renting a car if you plan on visiting Maui. If this listing is available during your stay, BOOK IT! You won’t be disappointed!

I stayed in this unit the last week of April 2022 as a single since I was attending a family wedding and combining vacation time as well. This unit is on the 8th floor (out of 9), and has an awesome view of the gardens down below, pool, restaurant, and ocean. Balcony is very spacious. The unit itself was immaculate. It smelled clean and refreshing as you entered. This is a studio as it does not have a separate bedroom, but for 2 people and if 1 sleeps on the couch, it is perfect! King size bed was so comfortable to sleep and the couch and chair were just as comfortable. TV had a couple of issues but were immediately resolved by owner. Kitchen area with counter space was plentiful and dishes, glasses, utensils, pots, pans, ect were enough. Very happy with refrigerator, microwave, stove, and dishwasher. Nice table with 2 chairs. Bathroom very clean.... nice sink area, along with toilet and shower. Shower always worked well with enough hot water. Items in closet to use such as beach chairs and towels also a nice touch. A/C worked very well and the brand new slider and screen doors were a pleasure. If you are going to Maui, this is the place to stay with a beautiful clean, roomy studio, great ammenities, and amazing views. The owners are also very attentive, friendly, and are always available for any questions or needs you may have. I would recommend this unit 150% !!! You will not be disappointed.

My husband and I spent 10 days at this location and it worked well for our needs. Most days were spent at the beach. There is no beach in front of the property but we had a system.....drive to Kaanapali beach parking (18 free spots!) early in the morning with our chairs and cooler, run/walk back to the condo, eat breakfast and then walk back and parked our chairs in the sand for the day! (2 miles one way). Gave us some exercise and didn't have to pay for parking! Also, there is a food truck area right near the condo (5 minute walk) that we enjoyed a few times! Thomas made things very easy for checking in and out and we would stay here again in a heartbeat1

This property exceeded my expectations. Hawaii is always wonderful when you come from the PNW in the wintertime. But I am a little picky when it comes to accommodations.. Cleanliness is of upmost importance but so is the general overall ambiance. This studio condo met all of my requirements and more. The property manager made us feel like we were friends, not just weekly renters. He did everything to make our stay perfect. The resort is beautiful, the view from the condo can't be beat. Sitting on the deck each morning,, sipping coffee and watching the waves, (sometimes whales), - what can be a better start to a day? For the two of us, the size of the condo was perfect. Nice kitchen with everything you can possibly need, comfortable living space, great bathroom area, shower, etc. Absolutely no complaints. Loved the ocean-side pool. The little restaurant and bar offered great food/island drinks, etc. for a reasonable price (unusual in Hawaii). The property is close to everything else you might want.
I highly recommend the Kaanapali Shores Resort and, in particular, this unit. Thank you for letting us live so comfortably in your incredible little piece of paradise.

My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our 10th anniversary and it was exactly what we were looking for.
The resort itself is great, it has two pools and hot tubs with a restaurant and bar in between. The staff are all friendly. Parking is a breeze. There’s a grocery store right across the street from the resort, which is a plus if you plan to use the kitchen.
The studio itself is situated perfectly to overlook the really pretty tropical pool and waterfalls, the ocean waves, and the island of Lanai in the distance. The sunsets are spectacular here, and you can always hear the ocean.
The condo has everything you need, and then some. We cooked several meals during our stay, and that worked out perfectly for us. The owner also graciously provides beach chairs and a cooler (a huge bonus whether you’re headed poolside or beach!).
Overall this is the perfect choice if you’re looking for that resort life while still being able to explore the island and have some adventures. The host is friendly, communicative, and helpful. We would happily recommend this place to anyone visiting Maui.

walking inside the unit, you feel a sense of warmth as if you have come home to your own place. The bed was extremely comfortable and everything just flowed with the unit and you out the balcony and the view is just magnificent. The only thing missing really is a washer and dryer, staying for a week is hard when you don't have a washer and dryer in the unit. The laundry mat in lahaina is kind of sketchy but other than that, it's truly a beautiful unit. I would definitely stay there again.

Second time staying in Kanapali area of Maui. This condo was perfectly set up with everything we possibly could have needed. The views made for a wonderful sunset dinner or quiet morning coffee. The beach in front of the property was just big enough for us to enjoy, but I do see how at some times of the year there will not be much beach front - don't worry, there is grass area to allow you to layout and listen to the waves. The snorkeling is better down the beach about 15 minute walk or short drives away, but the property offers rentals for the snorkeling or beach gear you may need. Thomas was very communicative and helpful throughout the process. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Beautiful view, clean room/property, A/C worked amazingly, and place stocked with little things you might need or forget. The pool out front the room is open until 11pm which creates a bit of noise but that wasn’t an issue for us, just an FYI. A sign stated that the owners were replacing the sliding glass doors soon which may alleviate that sound too. Overall would definitely stay again!
