We had a wonderful week long stay. The property is nicely maintained. The owners provided clear directions regarding access to the property. We never heard from the property manager about a car tag, but never had any issues with parking there. Overall, we would go back in a minute! It is in a nice location that is central to the entire island and allowed us to visit all over and come back to the "middle" area so that each day didn't end on an extended drive back. Plus there is a beach there for your own use or if you drive a mile, there is a park with an entire area for swimming for kids and adults which is protected from the ocean waves. Overall, amazing.

This 1st floor condo was a wonderful home away from home for our week long honeymoon! We sat out on the lanai overlooking the ocean every morning. Kitchen was well equipped, although we ate out most meals. Lots of little “extras” included. Quick/easy walking access to quiet beach. Property is private and quiet. Many good local eateries and shopping centers a short drive away. The host was more than accommodating and very responsive the entire process!

Condo was just about as close to the ocean as you can get. Another plus is watching planes take off and land in the distance at Lihue. Kapa'a is a neat little town with lots of good food close at hand. This condo is just steps from a beautiful pool as well. Only negative, a/c is good for bedroom only, but opening up lanai doors and using all fans works pretty well, plus you get the sounds of the ocean as an extra benefit!

There's a good view of the ocean and the nearly constant sound of the waves crashing. The pool is well maintained. There are good places nearby to eat. The TV and internet work good. The washer and dryer seem brand new. The dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave and stove are relatively new. The bed was not very comfortable. The furniture is older and the sofa is not very comfortable. The bathroom is just okay. The kitchen cabinets need some repair. The carpet is stained in a few places and the rug in the living room needs replacing.

Great central location from pretty much everything on the island. Listing is exactly as described. Owner leaves perfect details on what to do while you’re there for check in and out and even provides great amenities to make life easier at the home and or the beach. My family enjoyed our stay. It had what we needed...bed, kitchen, shower. The view from the lanai was incredible. The pool right outside our front door was very convenient. The grounds were immaculate. Mark, the resident host was very attentive, friendly, and kept people in line if needed...quiet hours at pool, no glass around pool, etc. Overall we were pleased.

Very centrally located on the island; easy parking, easy check in process. The unit was clean and had everything we needed. Bed was comfortable enough. For the amount of time you are in your condo, this is more than enough. The best feature is the sunrise with your morning coffee from the balcony. Honestly, can't be beat. Our last morning, we had the most beautiful sunrise. Great place to watch for whales and dolphins as well! Nice easy walk to the Lava Lava Beach Club for fantastic food and mai tais.

Beautiful view but shabby interior. Cheapest of everything. TV remotes problematic. Resent paying for “cleaning” and then asked to partially clean before I leave. Really? Good location for the north side activities but traffic is an issue. “Highway” is a two lane road so plan ahead. Mark , the manager, was helpful.

Sitting on the balcony and enjoying the view, listening to the sound of the waves crash into the rocks below us, had to be one of the best memories of our stay in Kauai. We were able to walk down to the beach and enjoy playing in the beautiful water.
Of course the house had absolutely everything we could have possibly needed, including snorkeling equipment, beach towels, and even a pair of great binoculars!
The bed was huge, and incredibly comfortable. There was even an extra blanket to keep my hubby nice and warm! The property manager was super friendly and very attentive to the property and guests.
The location was perfect as well, and convenient to everything we wanted to do on the island.
The property owner was also very friendly, and went out of his way to be helpful when VRBO was having some system errors with the payment processing of the remainder of our balance.
I would absolutely recommend this stay to anyone wanting both a gorgeous view and the mesmerizing sound of the waves just yards from the balcony.

This is our second visit to Kauai and Wailua Bay. This particular condo is on the ground floor of the building with lovely views of the ocean and far enough from the highway to minimize road noise.
It is an old but well maintained building/pool area and central to popular Island destinations to the north and south.
The condo itself is quite dated and not very well maintained. Laminate flooring is lifting in the bathroom, there are floor depressions in the kitchen and carpeting in the living room is stained. The LR furniture is old with the couch covered with a throw, ottomans in very poor condition, and countertop laminates lifting in several locations.
If you’re looking for a good location with ocean views for a reasonable price and aren’t too concerned about quality, this place offers decent value. We do believe however that some minor housekeeping, maintenance and customer service improvements would go a long way toward improved repeat business. Fixing the drapes and landline phone, cleaning cobwebs, providing decent soap and a few welcoming gifts (I.e. coffee/tea and sugar/creamers for the first morning), cleaning carpeting and fixing the ottomans would be a good start.

The best thing about the property was the view - it was amazing!!! The pictures on vrbo must have been very old because the actual carpet in the living room was very stained and gross. The floor in the bathroom was starting to come up. The condo is in serious need of a few updates. When we arrived the bedroom air conditioner (the only air conditioner) and the refrigerator were not on. It was like we weren't expected. The one air conditioner in the bedroom was not enough to cool the unit and we were there in a heat wave.

The views were amazing and enjoyed the central location for exploring the island.
It’ll be better after the noisy and bright road construction that goes on all night is over by October 2022.
The only a/c is in the bedroom so we couldn’t sleep there.
Slept on the rather springy fold our couch in the living room with the room light up from road construction all night.
The beautiful sound of the waves almost over powered the all night road construction noise.
The carpeting, couch and curtains are pretty gross but I use antibacterial wipes allot anyway.
We’re still overall pleased for the price.

This place is a total score if you can get it. We went on to stay at two places that cost twice as much, and this place was the universal favorite of our group. The location is idyllic - literally oceanside. It's easy drive up and out, and the pool is charming and again literally just outside the front door. Everything works, and the kitchen and bathroom were thoughtfully equipped. If you want a place that's truly relaxing where you wake up to the sound of waves crashing on the shore, this was it for us. Bonus point - the complex is small enough that delivery drivers will come right to the door, and there's a fantastic bakery for breakfast just across the street If you like Indian food, try Shivalik Indian nearby.

Wonderful ocean front view condo. Fantastic way to start and end your day with the sounds of the waves. It is a super convenient location. It is pretty much a central location to all of the activities on the island. The keyless entry is a major plus. The kids liked that the pool was open later so they had a chance to swim in the dark after a long day of activities. The kitchen is stocked with every thing you need to cook the fish you caught that day. Also having laundry in room is so much more convenient then just a hotel room. The only thing I would change is the pillows. The owner was great at communicating. We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended. The best part of this place is the view from the lanai. We loved being able to watch and listen to the surf and surfers. The owner is very responsive: the dryer was out of order when we arrived, someone came over the next day to fix it but had to await arrival of a part -- the joys of living on an island! The only negative is that there is currently nighttime (8 PM to 4 AM) road construction outside, and we are light sleepers. It actually turned into a positive experience because we started sleeping in the living room and were lulled to sleep by the sounds of the ocean. It was one of the best parts of the visit. We would definitely return.

We enjoyed our stay. A little too bad their is so much construction on the main road near this property. Hopefully, it can be completed soon. The property needs some updating. I would put on your list when you can, rugs, sliding porch doors. Good parking situation. Pool area nice and clean. The grounds are pretty. Between the construction, the highway and the roosters, it is a little noisy. But the sound of the waves helps that situation. Nice bakery and lunch spot across, the street. You can walk to the small shopping area in about 20 minutes. All in all, highly recommended. Thank you Luke and Kauai.

Perfect set up to make breakfast and coffee and watch the sunrise from the lanai every morning. Good location so we could go to the north or south side of the island easily. There are many options to stay here on the island, but Kappa is central allowing us to only drive a short way to either side of the island.
View was amazing.
We walked two miles every night along to beach path. It doesn’t start right at the condo, but it’s just down the sidewalk then a quick turn right and you’re there✔️

Check-in was very easy. Communication was good. The location is nice to start tours in either direction across the island. On the patio the ocean is louder than the road nearby, but you'll hear the traffic outside, when trying to sleep in the bedroom. It was quite loud.
The kitchen has lots of equipment and enough space. You'll find detergents for dish washer and washing machine.
We highly appreciated the beach gear, folding chairs and sun umbrella.
The view from the patio is fantastic.
You'll also get a pdf-file with recommended activities, which was quite nice and helpful. (Capt. Andy's Sailing Tour was excellent. Thanks!)
Nevertheless, a more specific advice about the risks of the single recommendations would have been nice, instead of saying "Although Kauai is beautiful, it is also rugged and dangerous." for each one. The hiking trail to Hanakapi'ai Beach will not be a good idea, when there was rain during previous days or if your fitness is not the best, for example.
The description of the condo says that there is an air conditioning, but there is only one, which can cool the bedroom, not the entire condo, which was a little misleading. As well, high speed internet wasn't really fast. Ping was between 250 and 500 ms, all the time.
Most of the furnishings are worn, inside and outside. All lamp shades were very dusty. As well, the inside of the drawers of the cupboard in the bedroom. The Pillows of the bed are not that comfy.
Nevertheless, we had a beautiful stay and recommend this condo. Thank you!

We were very pleased with the condo and the view! Amazing sunrises every morning! Luke was very accommodating and easy to communicate with it. The room was extremely clean and had everything you need. There is AC in the bedroom but we did not need it but is a PLUS if you catch a week where it is really hot! Also having laundry in the unit was a bonus! It was nice that you could walk 5-10 minutes to Coconut Grove shopping center and there is also two public beach access points along that walk.. We would recommend this unit to anyone visiting Kauai and wanted to stay in the Kaapa area!

My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights on our honeymoon in Kaua'i. The hosts were very responsive and sent us helpful welcoming emails to help us get oriented. Self check-in was easy and exactly as explained.
The space itself is a good use of space in a Wailua condo building called Bay View. You can hear the ocean from the bedroom, the main living area and kitchen are clean and spacious, there's in-unit washer and dryer, a Lanai with a view of Wailua Beach Park, and, best of all, tons of free beach equipment and guidebooks to streamline your time there.
The best part of the unit is it's location. If you want to see the whole island or have activities booked everywhere (we had things in Lihue, Waimea, Kapa’a, and the North Shore), Wailua is an ideal base of operations. Hanalei Bay up north is just over an hour away - Waimea on the west side is the same. That makes Kapa’a the best central location on the island, but it often has bad traffic, and Wailua let's you avoid it while giving you the same central location. Lots of great food in nearby Kapa’a too, Wailua Shave Ice is best on the island (islands maybe) and Hukilau Lanai was terrific. Coconut's is a chain but a local one and an unexpected gem.
The pool and beach right nearby are great but you might want to go to other beaches if sunbathing and swimming is the order of the day. Sea level rise has eaten a lot of the sandy part and the wind on the eastern shore can bring rain or driftwood here. For us, we were more than happy to drive around and so this was a great base of operations.

We had an amazing time at Wailua Bay View! It has everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The view is excellent (we loved watching the surfers from the lanai!). It’s the PERFECT location for exploring the island, and it is also close to some of the best (and most accessible, especially during COVID) dining. Not to mention it’s a really easy drive to the airport. The pool was lovely and very clean. We would absolutely stay here again! Thanks, Luke, for everything!

This place was nice and quiet. The pool was so nice, beautiful tile and landscaping. We had it all to ourselves most days. The people who were in it were usually people who lived here. The unit itself is older and showed some signs of wear but we’re not the type of people who care about that. The only complaint I have is that the pillows were horrible, flat and unsupportive. The location was good although not too many walkable restaurants or beaches to swim. We had to drive most places. Plenty of parking at the complex although we never received our parking pass. But one of the residents reassured us that we wouldn’t get towed because tow trucks don’t like the steep driveway. All in all, we had a good experience and would stay here again.

The condo has an amazing view and is very clean. It is super close to the highway, which can be good and bad. The pool was really nice and clean. We liked the hose for cleaning off feet and shoes. There is only air conditioning in the bedroom and it is very loud, but does cool the bedroom down. The rest of the condo stayed warm.

My wife and I had a great time at the condo. The view of Wailua Bay was awesome. We had our breakfast every morning on the lanai as we were watching the sunrise. The condo is well stocked, and we had everything needed to cook. We also enjoyed the beach chairs and umbrella on our trips to the beaches. Luke was great to work with. We stayed in Princeville for the first half of our trip and needed a place to store our luggage for the day before checking in to Luke’s. He allowed us to drop off our luggage at his condo at noon that day and we were able to enjoy the day without worrying about keeping everything in the car. The weather was cooler during our stay, so we did not need to use the air conditioner in the bedroom very much. We liked that the condo is centrally located between the north and south sides of the island. We planned our visit to Waimea Canyon and places on the south side of the island while staying at the condo. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay at Luke’s condo and would recommend to others.

The price is competitive, but the condo is showing its age and wear. Carpet in living room needs serious cleaning or replacing, and couch definitely has a layer (or two) of suntan lotion embedded in fabric. Overall, we could take the bad with the good, since the price was great and the location was where we wanted to be.

First experience staying on the East side! This is a perfect location for east travel to both north and south shore. This property had everything we needed for a day at the beach I.e,. Chairs, umbrella, snorkel, boards and towels. Beautiful view of the ocean from our balcony. Only minutes from many dining and shopping options. I had a quick question for Luke and replied immediately and chatted on the phone. Overall this was perfect!

Sitting on the lanai drinking coffee and looking at the ocean. What a great way to start the day! Condo has a terrific view of the ocean and was well equipped. We stocked up at Costco and used the kitchen a lot. Condo opens up to let the ocean breezes through and an AC for the bedroom. Nice pool and grill area we used three nights. Good central location. You will need a car to explore the island. Lots of things to do. Luke, the owner, sent us a list of things to do and we used this as our island guide, they were great suggestions. Would definitely stay here again.

This was a very good choice for our stay on Kaua'i. The location was perfect, close to everything, and the view of the ocean was especially wonderful. The amenities were much better than staying in a hotel. With the kitchen, full size refrigerator and a stove to cook, that saved us spending money going out. We did need to clean the floors ourselves, because we respect the no shoes inside, but the floor was kind of gritty to walk on. This seems to be an older property, and the furnishings are well worn, but we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the pool, too.

Super friendly check-in process which quickly made us feel comfortable. We arrived early and our condo was still being cleaned and were invited to use the pool while we waited. The view from the condo was exactly what we hoped for and the beach gear made such a difference in our stay. A HUGE benefit was having A/C in the bedroom!!! We talked to people on one of our excursions who weren't sleeping because they didn't have A/C. There are also ceiling fans in the living area and bedroom which help. The location of the condo is central so exploring the island on our first trip was very easy. Having laundry was also helpful and a must when traveling to Hawaii. The crown molding was also a nice touch :)!

What a convenient and comfortable place to stay! We just got married in Maui and spent a few days in Kauai and loved it. The condo itself was clean and had everything we needed to cook meals if we chose to. The ceiling fans and AC unit in the bedroom were great and kept the condo cool. We had a fabulous time at this beautiful condo. The view was spectacular. We enjoyed the ocean and the clouds in all their beautiful variations and we loved the moon shining on the water. We had every appliance and dish we could want. The bed was comfortable, there were plenty of soft towels and good water pressure. We loved having the washer and dryer in our condo. The pool was steps out our door and it was so clean and comfortable. The location was great, very centrally located. Not only will we be back but we will share this find with all our friends. This is the second time we stayed at one of Luke's properties here. Very clean, comfortable and right on the ocean! The sound of the waves crashing on the shore are with you always, very comforting and relaxing.
Sitting on the lenai drinking a morning coffee watching the whales off shore or the surfers out front, what a way to start your day!
Location is perfect. Walk to farmers market or a couple minute drive to Kapaa to several supermarkets and many restaurants.
We will be staying here again when we come back !!!

We really enjoyed our stay at Wailua Bay View #111. Slightly dated but very clean and comfortable. Luke is a great owner and we would highly recommend his accommodations. He also provided us with several very nice options of things to do, as we are not really ones who like sitting around the pool or beach with a book all day. But if you do, this is the place as many other guest at this complex did lots of that. We would definitely come back to this unit again.

This was our first visit to Kauai, and we can't think of a better place to stay than in the Wailua Bay area - very easy to reach every part of the island! We agree with the previous reviewers about the tremendous view from the lanai, well-stocked kitchen for complete cooking convenience, comfortable bed, well-kept grounds and easy walk down a stairway to the beach. It was our home-away-from-home for two weeks... we felt very comfortable there. We think the condo could use updating with all new appliances.

We really enjoyed our four night stay. Luke was great to work with and the on-site staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The process to check in and check out was very easy. The lanai was a great place to watch sunrises and to hang out in the morning and evening. The apartment was clean and all the appliances worked fine. Great location with many restaurants nearby and easy to explore the north and west side of the island from this east side location. There were plenty of parking spaces so parking was not an issue. There was air conditioning in the bedroom but with the cool breezes always flowing through the apartment we never turned it on. Would highly recommend this.

The two reasons to stay at this condo are 1) the beautiful ocean view from the balcony and the 2) the central location of the condo, which makes it easy to visit the different parts of the island. We certainly enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watching the view of Waileau Bay. As most reviewers have stated, it really is a fantastic view. The condo itself, however, was nothing special and could use some updating. Strangely, we were unable to turn off a ceiling fan, which made the condo quite cool in the morning. Also, the dryer quit working for us. The owner was responsive to our call about these problems. However, he was unable to help us get the fan to turn off as apparently, he has had some ongoing electrical issues with it. The swimming pool is located in the parking area and is smaller than I thought it would be. Unfortunately, my six-year-old daughter found it too cold to swim in. We did enjoy walking along the beach near the condo. The beach chairs/sand toys/boogie boards, etc. were much appreciated. We didn't cook much while we were there but the kitchen appeared to be well stocked.

Great location, easy parking, the condo is clean, well appointed and with a view that doesn't disappoint. The kitchen has more than I ever needed, 2 TV's, beach gear and a washer dryer make this condo an easy choice. The pool and BBQ is extremely clean and usually empty. We had no noise issues and the other renters were friendly.

This was our first trip to Kauai and it was perfect! The views from the Lani are spectacular, condo is comfortable, and well maintained. The owners are thoughtful, quick to respond, and provided us a safe comfortable stay. We appreciated the thorough pre/check in information including travel recommendations. Wailua Bay View #111 is a well-appointed 1 bdrm, full kitchen waterfront condo with a washer/dryer unit located 10 minutes from the airport. The condo is located steps away from the pool and has easy access without going up flights of stairs. The lanai is the ideal place to enjoy the scenery of Kauai - only a few feet of grass and a small bluff separates you from the ocean and Wailua Bay Beach. The condo complex is small, clean and well supervised. There is a pool and patio behind the building which is an ideal site to sunbath or BBQ. The location is terrific, mid-distance between the North and South/West so you can easily make day trips or excursions anywhere on the island. There are a number of restaurants and a small shopping mall within walking distance of the condo but a car is recommended for touring the island.
The owner is excellent to work with - he responds quickly to inquires and wants you to have a positive experience during your stay at his condo.
I will definitely recommend this condo to my family and friends. We stayed for three weeks and will be looking forward to a return visit to Kauai and will book #111 again.

My husband and I just returned from our trip to Kauai. We had a wonderful time. I was looking over all the reviews and I agree with them. This condo is great. Nicely stocked and comfortable. The beach chairs and towels came in handy. So did the binoculars. It's little things like that that make a stay more pleasant. I think the thing we loved the most is the view. Loved having our morning coffee out on the lanai talking over our plans for the day. It was great coming "home" to it too. It was fun watching the paddle boarders and kite surfers. Because of the location we usually only spent half the day exploring and the other half enjoying "our" beach and pool. Thank you Luke and family for sharing this condo with us. We'll be back!!

We visited Kauai the first time and loved this place! The apratment was very clean and was equipped with everything we needed. The location was very convenient as it was close to the airport and also close to old Kapaa town - a very nice place on the island to eat and shop. What was best, was the great ocean view from the balcony, where we watched the sunrise in the morning. Would definitely recommend this place. Mahalo for the great stay!

Great property overall. Had some snorkels and fins for kids, in addition to lawn chairs, and body boards. Well equipped kitchen. There were some ants that would crawl on the counter, so just keep the kitchen space clean of food scraps and take the garbage our regularly and you should be fine. The bathroom could have been a bit cleaner, and the towels smelled a bit (like maybe they weren't totally dried or washed with too many other items in one load, but we found some other ones that were in better shape and used those.

This place is awesome to have a wonderful holiday on Kauai. We've enjoyed every morning the stunning view from the lanai with our kid. The condo has everything you need to stay here: a box full of beach utils for the whole familiy, a well-appointed kitchen and so on. Also Luke takes care that everything is perfect for your stay. If we come again to Kauai we will stay here again! Mahalo!

We are heading for home tomorrow and we have had a great stay in unit 111. The unit is very well furnished and the the beach gear is well supplied. It made going to the beach so convenient! The view from the porch is just as good as the pictures show. Our verizon phones had spotty reception, but the land line made it easy to keep in touch with family back on the mainland. We slept comfortably. The pool is the perfect temperature, is clean and is surrounded by beautiful plants and trees. Highly recommend staying here!
