We had a great experience at Kamaole Sands after not having been for 10 years. The resort is as clean as it was back then. My only complaint about the complex itself is the pool staff constantly telling the kids in the pool what they can’t do - a little more leniency on the rules would be nice.
With that said, I still believe this is one of the best resorts in Kihei - the pool area is beautiful and busy, making it easy for kids to find new friends to play with. The BBQ areas are wonderful and it’s obvious the whole complex is very well maintained.
When it comes to the condo itself, it really was almost perfect. We had everything we needed in the kitchen, and the ottoman that can be turned into a twin bed was a nice option when our kids got tired of sharing a bed a few days into our trip. The condo was very clean, and the washer and dryer worked perfectly. The mattresses were a bit hard but we got used to them.
The proximity to the reserved parking spot was great and it’s a quick walk to a beautiful beach. There are lots of beach toys in the lanai closet along with a wagon, nice beach chairs, boogie boards and snorkel sets.
I will definitely be back at Kamaole Sands someday soon and would recommend this condo to anyone. Thanks for the hospitality!

Property and unit were as pictured. We were notified about checkin time that the dishwasher was not working properly and it wouldn’t be fixed until after our stay, bummer to have to hand wash dishes on vacation. Other than that, all was great.

We loved being so close to the beach, Kam III was the best beach in our opinion. If you want a view this not not the location for you. But easy access to the pool and parking spot, worked great for us.

We enjoyed our stay at this condo! The location was excellent and just across the street from Maui’s best beach. The lanai was somewhat private and the condo was close to the pool and BBQ grills which we used often. Thank you Matt and Joy, our trip was wonderful and we have you to thank for a seemless stay!

Appreciate Joy and Matt communicating with us they are responsive and easy to work with. Nice, clean place. We tried to run the AC as little as possible but it got toasty in the bedroom trying to sleep and the fan was pretty noisy, even in the lowest setting, so that between the heat and the fan it was hard for me to go back to sleep. Lovely grounds and reserved parking. Right across the street from a grassy area where I recommend catching the sunset. Sand at the beach (Kamaole III) is pretty much gone at the moment due to erosion but I understand conditions change so check with Joy and Matt for the latest.

Excellent unit! VERY clean, Everything's new, great quality appliances, (NICE washer & dryer). Kitchen is beautiful & has just about anything you could think of. Balcony is very relaxing. True, it doesn't have a view of the pool or sunset, but it leads right out onto nice grass, that's separated from common pathways... which is great if you have kids. Tastefully decorated. Bedroom A/C is a bit noisy, but we didn't mind. Master bath could use an exhaust fan. Owners are very nice and quickly responded to any questions we had.

This condo is everything you need and more! Not only was the condo just a short walk to the beach and the town, but Joy was a pleasure to work with! The condo was spotless, had a fully stocked kitchen, and so many beach goodies! After coming from the busyness of Waikiki, this condo was everything we needed! To be honest, this place was the highlight of our trip- cooking our own dinner, exploring the area, and soaking up the sun! I highly recommend Joy and Matt's place. You will be happy you booked it!! Joy, we can't thank you enough!

The condo was cute and clean. It had everything we needed. Maybe bring an extra throw blanket if you have 3 kids. It was so nice having all the beach chairs, wagon, boogie boards, and cooler. Perfect little walk to the beach and close to shopping and food.

We had a nice time at this condo in Kamaole Sands. It was very clean and ready for us. Sadly, no coffee in the kitchen but we bought some at Foodland with our new discount card. It was nice to have the washer/dryer available for use. The only short-comings were that there is no view of the water or beach from here (it’s on the first floor) and that opening the windows in the bedroom and using the fan kept us cool and comfortable at night (worked better than the AC), but let in an ENORMOUS amount of noise from the parking lot on Friday night. Saturday night was completely quiet but rainy; I don’t know why the difference in noise level was so extreme. The design of all these units means that if you are renting one located on one of the blocks near the outside that cars use as a thoroughfare, there will be a lot of noise from people parking, talking, car doors slamming, etc. I imagine that if you are located along one of the “interior corridors” that is not a through street, it is less noticeable. On a positive note, the pools are well-maintained and very nice, the orchids planted along the walkway are AMAZING, the location of these condos is nice, right across from Kamaole Beach Park III, the unit was clean and everything worked as advertised.

Our family of four enjoyed our stay in Mike and Monica's Kamaole Sands ground floor condo. An end unit in the back of the complex, the condo is right next to the parking lot which is great for loading/unloading gear (bedroom is in back, too, which means that an open window at night does allow for sound from parking area which is minimal but exists). Kamaole Sands is a nice complex with immaculate grounds, a very friendly and helpful staff, and a well kept pool area which includes a ping pong table, foosball and free library. The proximity to Kamaole II and III beaches is great - snorkeling when the water is calm, boogie boarding when the water is rougher, tide pool exploration and hours of play in the sand with beach toys from the condo. We also appreciated the use of umbrellas, beach chairs and cooler. The condo was tidy and comfortable. Our young daughters slept well on the fold out couch, although I would not recommend it for an adult (mattress falls to middle). My husband liked the firm king mattress in the bedroom. The condo kept cool enough with cross breezes and so we rarely utilized the air conditioning (AC was on a 2 hour timer). We were able to do simple food preparation with the dishes, pots and utensils provided. Kitchen also had salt, pepper, spice rack and a small amount of olive oil. Refrigerator is emptied between guests (except for some bottled water). We were comfortable and happy with our stay. Mike and Monica were easy to communicate with and have a nice spot!

The condo was clean and well equipped with everything we needed, to include beach equipment. The location of the bottom corner unit had less privacy than we prefer, as it was right by the sidewalk leading to the pool. Passers by always find it necessary to look your way. The large bedroom window has beautiful shutters which run the length of the room. However since that window runs parallel to the sidewalk leading to all the other units we had to keep them closed most of the time, again to preserve our privacy. The timers on the air conditioning units were inconvenient. While we understand the desire to save energy, we have to wonder if there might be a better solution. The pool was small and crowded. Mike and Monica were gracious and attentive hosts. Many guests would probably find the property suitable for their needs. It just wasn’t the best fit for us.

The unit is clean, comfortable, well equipped and everything worked as expected. The owners and the local contact are well organized and easy to deal with.
The overall property is well maintained. The pool is great with lots of lounge chairs and the numerous BBQ areas are convenient and very clean. Didn't use the tennis courts but they look in very good shape.
The location in Kihei has great beach access and lots of services are within easy walking distance.

Condo unit was as advertised. Our second stay at Kamaole Sands and the condo grounds and atmosphere at the resort is excellent. Condo is very clean, fully functioning AC units in bedroom and living room, parking just outside your door, good quality beach chairs, much needed umbrellas for the beach, beach towels and plenty kitchenware items. There were also plenty of beach toys if you have have young children or teens. Barbecue pits are clean with overhead protection and picnic tables. We had some great barbecue meals with our travel friends who stayed in the same condo building. Location is ideal. Plenty of beaches and snorkelling nearby. Owners are very organized and a pleasure to work with. Maui is our favourite island. We will definitely stay at this unit again. Hope this review is helpful to fellow travellers.

We feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to stay here! Everything was as promised and we couldn't ask for anything more. From the cleanliness of the unit, to the amennities included, our expectations were exceeded in every way!
The location of this unit is perfect for exploring the entire island and coming "home" each day to paradise. We made some friends in the complex while staying there and the staff were very accommodating.
We would highly recommend this unit and property to anyone!

We just returned from our trip to Maui with our family. We had 3 different units at Kamole Sands Resort and they were great. A big thank you to Mike and Monica for letting us share their home. It came with everything you would need inside or out. We had the use of boogie boards, beach chairs, umbrellas and coolers. It was great. It was a home away from home. We were across the road fro Kamole Beaches 1, 2 and 3. The resort itself was beautiful. The grounds were very well kept and their was a swimming pool and hot tub and a tennis court.

My husband and our 19 month old stayed here for 3 nights and this was the perfect unit for us. We opted to sleep on the pull out sofa as we kept our toddler in the master bedroom to help her get solid sleep. We liked that this condo was on the lower level and was short walk to the pool. Having the grassy area made it nice for our toddler to walk on her own, and we were able to pull our chairs out on the grass and sunbathe while she napped. When we walked to the beach, we walked through the grass and through the condo grounds, which was very well kept with beautiful gardens. The walk to the beach was shorter than expected and we really enjoyed being close to Kameole III and II. The beaches are beautiful! The condo was also close enough to where to could walk to all the shops and restaurants in the area too. It's a bit of a longer walk for some, but it's along the beach so lots to see and it's a great way to check out the area. We really liked eating at Maui Taco and lunch at Cafe O'lei was the best meal I had, and there is a really great coffee shop next to the natural foods store that also has smoothies and Acai bowls. We chose to eat out for all the meals, but the condo kitchen is stocked with everything you should need. This condo has AC in the bedroom and living room which was nice to have even in March, and although the outdoor patio is close to the parking lot and walking path to the pool, the unit is very quiet and has a feeling of privacy. Thanks so much for your hospitality Mike and Monica! We would stay here again for sure.

We enjoyed our time at the condo. Kitchen was well-equipped, dishwasher worked fine. Sheets on the king bed were incredibly soft. Lots of storage space in the closet. Parking spot was across from the front door - very handy.
Beach chairs came in handy as well as the beach towels. Very nice to have a washer and dryer to use. Within walking distance of shops and restaurants and other condos where our family members were staying. Beach within walking distance as well. Used the workout room as well as the hot tub.

We had a fabulous time! The condo was even better than the pictures. The beach across the street was close and awesome. The pool and hot tubs were so much fun and were close by. I was really glad the master bedroom had its own ac unit. The bed was so comfy and sheets were soft and good thread count. Everything was well equipped. I would stay here again when I return to Maui. Also the parking spot was very close to the unit, and because it was a ground floor unit and a end unit, it was very private and we had no noise from neighbors. Way fun vacation! Thank you!

Everything as advertised! This unit is nicely furnished and ready for a relaxing vacation.
The sunset is only a 10 minute stroll to the beach. The pool and hot tub are attractive with a activities desk and coffee bar (for those that are addicts). We got lucky with time of year and not having a lot of families. So the pool was not crowded. We didn't use the "gym" but it was available next to the pool. We really enjoyed our stay.
This unit is an end unit and the lanai sitting was very nice. It sits in the shade in the morning and late afternoon and evening. It could benefit with some privacy glass on the lower window from the lanai.
There are a few steps maybe 4 to the front door from the parking space. I'm sure there was a ramp somewhere. We liked the parking spot being close. We stayed for a week and had no issues, enjoyed the king size bed and pool. If looking for a great place for your money I would recommend this unit. We would gladly stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay at this unit at karmaole sands. It was clean, spacious and loved the ac unit in front room and bedroom. Being a corner unit it is nice a private and quiet. Close walk to pool as well :) It was nice to have beach towels and cleaning supplies in the unit for us to use. Thanks.

Definitely a GOOD+ choice !
We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay in beautiful Maui at this well positioned and well provisioned condo on the inner courtyard. Very nicely updated since our family's last stay. Lovely towels and linens with the most comfortable "holiday bed" we have ever slept in !
Everything needed for almost any family can be found at this unit including pool towels, toys and beach chairs. The beach (and snorkelling) is a 3 minute stroll across the road. Shops and restaurants are within easy walking distance. Excursion planners were on site if you were interested.
We have had a number of VRBO experiences elsewhere and the most impressive (and new) experience with this visit was Mike and Monica's excellent (on Island) manager Michael. His response was immediate to our small query.

Three families traveled together and our condo was the best, furnished, cleaned, and supplied. We wanted for nothing just our food and libations. Walking distance to beaches restaurants and shopping. Shaded lanai was ample to sit and relax. We have used VRBO often and this with one other(Italy) did not disappoint in any way. There were beach toys for kids(we had no need) and the beach chairs were a godsend. There was no oean view but the condo was bright and would and will stay again with Mike and Monica.

Nice clean, quiet, well maintained condo with beach chairs and toys, boogie boards, close to pool and hot tubs. Nice tropical courtyard with plants and fountains. Restaurants and stores within walking distance and right across from 3 nice beaches and parks.
