The location right at Grandpas beach on Hanalei Bay was exceptional. The home is outstanding. Beautiful and well maintained. Love the outdoor shower and the gardens. Kauai is our absolute favorite island. I planned this trip for 3 couples and I knew I wanted to stay in Hanalei. It's the best spot for a long, beautiful beach and a great town. I looked at a few other homes, farther back from the beach, but ultimately decided I wanted to spend the extra money to be able to wake up and see the beach from our balcony. I am so glad I did.
The home is beautiful. It was very roomy, clean and tastefully decorated. It has pretty much everything you need. Of course you'll need to go grocery shopping, but there was shampoo, conditioner and body wash in all the bathrooms as well as the outdoor shower. There was plenty of bath and beach towels. There's no air conditioning, but there are plenty of fans and windows you can open.
Another review mentioned the roosters. Yes, the island has roosters and chickens everywhere. Yes, apparently roosters crow all hours... even 2am. It doesn't matter where you stay, you'll hear them. Just bring ear plugs for sleeping.
Overall, all of us really enjoyed our stay in Kauai and at this house. We would definitely stay at this house again.

By far the best beach house we've ever stayed in (and we've stayed in many over the past several years)! The house was amazing, we could not have asked for a better location or more well equipped house... it had everything you can think of. The views are absolutely stunning! Talia is the best hostess ever... she responded quickly when one of the smoke detectors went bad (or maybe the battery died) and the coffee maker was having issues... she brought new replacements within less than 2 hours. I will say, the roosters are a little annoying with their cockadoodle doing at 3am, but this is part of being in Kauai, I guess... next time we come, I'll just bring my headband headphones to sleep with! Otherwise, as far as the house itself and location... it was 1000% worth it! We were sad to leave. If we make it back to this island in the near future, I wouldn't even bother to look for a different rental house... this one is it hands down!

Pine Tree Villa is Paradise on the North Shore. We have stayed in a lot of places around the world and this property in particular will always have a special place in our heart. It is very clean, well maintained, well stocked and as always, it is an absolute pleasure to stay here. The property manager is very accommodating and helpful, you are definitely in good hands. This place is a true Gem on Kauai and we hope that you get a chance to enjoy it as much as we have. Your in a great spot to enjoy all the North Shore has to offer, including fun for the kids, swimming, surfing/body boarding, snorkeling, and hiking on some of the most beautiful beaches and trails on planet earth. Pine Tree Villa is the best spot in Hanalei and on the North Shore, which is what brings us back year after year. You are located right on Hanalei Bay, so I am not sure what else you could ask for. Listen to the waves crash on the beach and soak in beautiful sunsets from the comfort of your lanai, or just walk out the back gate and you are on the beach. The house is beautiful, well maintained and comes well stocked with everything you need. The fenced in property is beautiful, with a variety of native plants. Our kids had a blast, swimming, snorkeling, body boarding and surfing in our back yard. There is a closet full of beach stuff to play with. The property manager, Talia, is wonderful and always a pleasure to work with. Talia will make sure that you have the best stay possible and provide excellent service during your visit. It's a quick ride, walk or bike to Hanalei Pier and to Hanalei Town, with also easy access to Tunnels and Ke'e Beach in Haena. You feel like you don't need or want to leave, the North Shore is definitely a special place and Pine Tree Villa is paradise. If you surf, you are in luck because there is world class surfing right out your door and you can check the main breaks in Hanalei from your lanai. It is incredible. This is definitely a place that we will always cherish and have found memories of.

Great beachfront location at Hanalei Bay. It was great to sit on the second story lanai and watch the waves and surfers. We had a very relaxing week. New Year’s Eve itself was very festive with fireworks and bonfires all along the beach. Talia was very responsive and welcoming during the booking process and the stay. The town is within walking distance of the house. The stairs could be a bit challenging with some physical impairment because the kitchen and common area are on the second floor. The 2nd floor has the amazing views and is where you would generally want to spend time. Well stocked game closet was fun for us. We had a wonderful time and would recommend this property as a wonderful choice.

Stunning home and stunning view! An absolutely dream vacation in a gorgeous setting. Home was even better than pictured online. Very clean with anything you could possibly need to have an amazing vacation. Fully stocked kitchen if you feel like making a gourmet meal. All the beach toys and equipment are available for use. This house is close to the cutest stores and yummy food. Communication with the property manager was excellent! We would definitely book this house again and with all Rentals could be like this one.

We loved our stay here in July. The location is the best! The house was perfect and we really enjoyed the surfboards, boogie boards and beach stuff that was included. The mid-stay clean was great. The host even left some welcome goodies (coffee, fruit, yogurt, granola, salami and cheese). Would 100% stay here again.

The house was very nice and the view from the second floor was spectacular. The back yard was very private with beautiful landscaping. Location was great with easy access to the beach and a short drive into Hanalei. The only real complaint was the condition of the laundry facilities. The laundry room smelled very bad and the washer was very old and really beat up. We washed the towels and linens as required but chose nott to do any of our own laundry. At the prices charged, the owner could easily afford to replace the washer & dryer to match the quality of the rest of the house.

This was our second stay at Pine Tree villa. This home has everything you could want and is in the absolute ideal location on Hanalei bay. Gorgeous sunsets, beachfront access and just a few blocks to town. Talia is a great host and arranged bike rentals that were waiting for us on arrival. 5 stars in every way!!

Pine Trees Villa is located in one of the best spots on the north shore. On the sand, or a short walk to Hanalei, you really can't beat it. The property itself is spacious, well stocked and always clean. With a huge private front and backyard, it is perfect for kids of any age. Couple that with the huge upstairs lanai that has unbeatable views of the beach and you have the perfect place to take friends or family. We've stayed at this property 3 times and each time has been better than the last. The property manager is always wonderful, super responsive and always helpful. We've used VRBO many other times, but this property is easily the best value! We will be back soon I'm sure!

Our family of four had a relaxing week here. The house is clean, well laid out, and equipped with everything you need to cook and have fun on the beach. The ocean views and breeze can't be beat nor can the proximity to town. And Talia was very responsive. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars was b/c none of us were able to get a full night's sleep while there. There are roosters and chickens that live in the yard. They made noise every single night starting at 2am and didn't stop until 6:30-7:00am. They were literally in the tree outside our master bedroom window, which had to be open b/c there is no AC. The other issue was the noise of the cars coming in an out of the parking lot and idling outside the lower bedroom window, in the middle of the night. Given the listing details we fully expected traffic from 6am-11pm but not between 12am-6am. Could be the time of year we were there. But b/c the house doesn't have AC you have to sleep with the windows open and the fans only due so much to cover the noise.

We’ve stayed at this property before and the location is the best! The beauty of Hanalei bay is better than I remember. The house is close to the village which has many great food options. The house is well stocked. I had everything I needed to cook for the family. The chairs and umbrella were great for the beach. My son used the boogie board available. Talia is responsive as always with any concerns. Just a caution to those unfamiliar with homes in Kauai, central air conditioning is not standard. The fans kept us cool at night with the windows open to hear the ocean waves. But also you can hear the roosters bright and early, too! There is a parking lot between the house and beach but doesn’t affect your view of beach at all. The way the house is built, it gives you a great view of pine trees beach and surfers from anywhere on the second floor. That’s my favorite part of the house if you like watching the ocean or surfers. On the front side of the house is a wonderful view of the mountains and waterfalls, especially after a good rain. It’s breathtaking.
The thing I don’t know if can be made better is the ants and bugs. We were able to take care of the ants, but they show up from time to time. I think it’s due to the proximity of the house to the beach and nature. I’ve found small bugs in the house and shower on the first floor which are easily washed away, but if that bothers you, you might not want to visit a tropical island.
The beautiful location and wonderful amenities this house offers will having me coming back again.

It is a great rental house, we all had our own bedrooms and bathrooms. The property is beautiful. The location has perfect access to the beach, and having access to all the beach gear was great. Watching the ocean from the lanai in the morning as the sun rises is an amazing way start the day.

What a beautiful property and location! It was perfect for our family's stay. The house was very spacious and comfortable and had everything we needed for our week long stay. The kitchen was well stocked and the beach chairs, toys and cart were so nice to have on hand. The beach is just steps away and my crew got great use out of the beautiful outdoor shower. The ocean views are incredible at all times of day. Truly a special place.

We are all checked out, on the second round of towels the washing machine was beeping like it was done but we could still water in the machine and the we could not open the door. Talia fixed the problems we reported to her quickly. Unfortunately the coffee maker was broken, the garburator had something stuck in it, the BBQ was not working, only 1/2 of the 4 slice toaster worked and a lot of lights in the house were burnt out.
This is a great location, but the house itself needs some TLC.

This was a perfect rental for our family of five adults (parents, son, daughter with boyfriend). Everyone had their own bedroom/bathroom, and the communal areas upstairs (outstanding kitchen and super comfortable living room) were perfect for all of us to spend time together. The house is VERY well equipped for cooking, beach activities, surfing, etc. You have everything that you need for a carefree time in Hanalei. The beach is in front of your front yard. The property manager Talia responded to all inquiries right away. The only slightly annoying thing about our stay here is something that is common to all home rentals on Kauai (vs staying in a hotel): the roosters wake up very early and really want you to join them! But we already miss them….

We played the board games, loved having beach gear, and cooked from home a lot. You can walk to the grocery store and restaurants. The house was incredible…the views breathtaking from the beach and ocean on the back to the stunning green mountains out front!!! Everything was super clean and beautiful…the kitchen a gourmet’s paradise, the beds and pillows the most comfortable we’ve ever slept on…the location is right on the best beach and so close to town.
Talia, the manager, was available to meet our every need and was so super helpful and courteous!!
We will be returning to Pine Tree Villa as soon and as frequently as we can cuz it definitely doesn’t get any better…all you can dream of…pure paradise!!!

This is waterfront and a great experience. We could easily walk from the beach through the backyard into the outdoor shower (with hot water). This is especially great with kids. Great waves for boogie boarding and incredible hikes nearby!

First of all, if you are a surfer, this is the ultimate spot!! You can see the entire bay all the way from Waikokos to Middles to Hanalei Bay point from your lanai. In addition, pine trees break is right out front. The house is equipped very nicely with everything you need including two wave storm surfboards, two boogie boards, sand toys, beach towels, etc. Kitchen is very well equipped as well. Great outdoor seating w epic ocean view.
The set up of the house is master bedroom and kitchen upstairs which is great because that is where the view is. Two bedrooms and a pull out couch downstairs. There is a parking lot directly in front of the house between the house and the beach which we were concerned about but it was a non issue. There were maybe one or two times over the 20 days we stayed there that there was loud noise and we had to ask someone late night to turn the music down.
Have Talia deliver bikes in advance as they are mandatory with this location. We rode to the pier, town, Cape, etc every day.
Enjoy!! Talia is awesome and very responsive and helpful. We will certainly be back!!

We’ve rented houses here before, and sometimes you don’t get what you expect. This home was exactly what I expected, spacious, well appointed, perfect location. I rented bikes for all of us for the week and I’d recommend it. It’s an easy walk to town but it’s so much more fun to have bikes. Would go back. Also, Talia, the property manger, was informative & always very responsive.

Located right on the beach in front of a surf break, you can’t ask for me. The house is spacious, clean and comfortable allowing 6 couples to have plenty of room. An easy 10min walk in to Hanalei or 5min bike ride makes exploring easy. Property manager offered many helpful suggestions and was quick to respond to any inquiries. Would definitely recommend this property for multiple couples or family.

Our family spent a week at the Pine Trees Villa. We loved the easy walk to the beach, the quiet bay, and the fun walks into town. The house is nicely designed and slept our party of 9 ( 3 being small children) comfortably. We loved sitting on the Lenai' drinking our morning coffee, as we checked the surf for the day, and in the evening watching the sunsets. The outside shower was great to shower a day at the beach off. Hanalei town had everything we needed and the local grocery store, Big Save, was reasonable. Tahlia was so nice to work with and made our accommodations wonderful. Us girls did the hike to the falls one day while the guys surfed. Our grandkids loved the beach toys that were at the house and the shaved ice in town. We are looking forward to returning in the future. We are still talking about what an amazing vacation it was. thank you Tahlia for putting it together. Mahalo

Our family of four has enjoyed a "destination Xmas" at the Pine Trees Villa two years in a row. The house is spacious, tastefully decorated and has everything you need......and the location is absolutely perfect. The deck off of the kitchen is definitely a gathering spot for morning coffee and afternoon cocktails. You can never get enough of the beautiful ocean view. I love waking to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore. We rented surfboards for the week and our 20 yr old son and 23 yr old daughter surfed daily right outside the gate. We also rented bikes for the week and rode them into to town for shopping, the Saturday Farmers Market and dining on several occasions. We BBQ'd a few times, had a wonderful Xmas brunch and family massages at the St. Regis Resort, took a helicopter tour of the island, several hikes and a kayak adventure/hike to the secret falls. We've already referred friends to the Villa and hope to return again soon!

This is a wonderful rental in Hanalei. Close enough to town to walk in for meals if you like. The location is perfect for families who want to enjoy the beauty and activities that Hanalei has to offer. Volleyball, surfing and swimming right outside your door. The views are amazing! The kitchen is beautiful, it needs a few extra plates and bowls, but other than that it was lovely. The house is well appointed and comfortable. The beds are very comfortable! I would recommend a few more wash cloths and hand towels for the home. We have already booked it again for our winter trip.

My wife and I enjoyed our time at the villa. It suited our needs wonderfully. It was like...'Heaven on Earth'. A great honeymoon location. We enjoyed all our meals on the ocean view deck, and the waves were just incredible! We took such amazing photos of Kauai, especially Hanalei Bay, and will share it with the rest of our family and friends. Although there was just the 2 of us, we really appreciated the space it provided and all of the special touches throughout. Needless to say, we did not want to leave the place. It would've been nice however if check out was a bit later. We hope to return for our 1 yr. anniversary.

My kids loved playing on the beach in front of the house. All of your recommendations were fabulous! We feel so lucky to have found you. The service you provided us with was simply outstanding. We've stayed at other beachfront rentals along the bay and really fell in love with this property. The parking lot in front of the house got busy when the surf came up. We were not inconvenienced by it whatsoever. In fact, we met the nicest local family on the beach. We hung out with them and their children gave my kids surf lessons. I definitely want to return next year.
