This place was great! It’s in a quiet, beautiful neighborhood in Princeville, not too far from Hanalei Bay. The place was spacious and clean. The only issue we had was the washer didn’t seem to work. I contacted Terry and he responded immediately. Unfortunately because it was Christmas, no repair person could come out but we were fine. As noted by other reviewers, there is no A/C, so temperature regulation can be a little tricky. The weather was temperate, so it wasn’t a big deal for us.

Neither tv worked when we arrived. We went out and purchased batteries and were able to get one working. The repair man came and said the other tv needed to be replaced and said he would return in a day or two but we didn’t hear back. Otherwise nicely equipped.

The location of the property was perfect. I loved that the patio looked out over foliage and not a parking lot, yet we were very close to the pool. It was quiet and peaceful sitting on the patio, aside from the roosters, haha! We did enjoy the chickens visiting. I loved being able to see the ocean in the distance, even in the shower! We were within 15 minutes of Hanalei Bay and Anini Beach, and within 2 miles of a grocery store.

This is a very well equipped small two bedroom condo in Princeville.
Plenty of towels
Kitchen fully stocked for cooking meals. Lots of condiments and spices which is a plus. We also left extra items that we did not finish.
The house also comes with beach chairs, boogie boards and umbrellas.
Parking is right out front.
The kitchen has also been recently updated as well as the two very very small bathrooms.
If I were the owner I would finish the remodel. New big flatscreen TV, get the TV in the master bedroom working. Get rid of the carpet in the bedrooms. New coffee maker! The coffee tasted terrible even with the best ground beans.
Overall is it relatively comfortable although there is no air conditioning… not that mandatory but might be nice sometimes if you are not used to sleeping with all the windows open.
There is a nice pool area just about 50 yards from the front door. And it also has a small pool for kids and a hot tub but it was not hot. Lastly there were very nice barbecues for anyone to use.
Great location to take a walk or go to Anini Besch only 10 minutes away. Hanalei is also a short 10 minute drive.

The owners couldn’t tell us if they had a rice cooker and what kind of coffee maker they had (if they had one). So we brought our own. Turns out that they had a rice cooker, but it didn’t work. We couldn’t tell if the coffee maker worked , because we used our keurig.
We were here to meet up with the rest of our family. Didn’t realize how far we were from them.
All in all it was an okay stay. Thank you for the use of the beach chairs and umbrella! Love Kaua’i and we will definitely be back!

We had the best stay at this Princeville condo. Very well supplied and with nice upgraded furniture as well. Beautiful location overlooking the common area and a peek a boo view of the ocean in the distance. Gorgeous grounds and landscaping. Super hot tub and pool. Well stocked beach gear closet too! Easy parking. If you love Princeville, the Ali'i Kai condos are fabulous, especially this one!

The location of the property is great. Very nice quiet neighborhood close by to a lot of attractions without all the noise. The condo could use a deep cleaning, the carpets especially (or just get rid of the carpet all together). The back patio seemed more inviting in the pictures than what it actually turned out to be in person - it was very hot and little space. That being said, the condo worked out fine for the time we spent in it. We were out doing hikes and site seeing most of the time. The pool and hot tub area were very nice and relaxing after a long day of hiking. All in all, it was a nice place.

After spending a lovely week on the south shore, we came up to Princeville for a second week on Kauai. We were blown away by the beauty of the condo. It looks just like the photos. It is clean and well stocked. The kitchen has everything you need. It was convenient to have beach chairs, snorkel gear, and even a cooler available to use. The pool and BBQ area is steps from your door. The property has fruit trees that guests can help themselves to as well. The location is convenient to get to the Na Pali coast or to Lihue and everyplace in between. We very much enjoyed our stay.

This condo suited our family of four's needs and then some. It was clean, comfortable, great location, and beautiful views from the patio. I loved the full, functional kitchen with everything I needed to cook. The pool was cool and refreshing, and the hot tub was great for soaking after a hike. I also loved the convenience of the washer and dryer being in the condo as well. There was also a "fun" closet with pool floats, chairs, snorkels, and boogie boards. The host communicated promptly and answered my questions when needed. Highly recommended, and we can't wait to come back!

My husband and I and his sister and her husband stayed at the condo. It was perfect for 4 people. We could all have privacy if we wanted. The patio and furniture were nice to watch the rain or sunset and get fresh air. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen and baths were well-stocked. Terry was easy to contact and communicate with.
It was a comfortable place to stay and convenient to restaurants, shopping and golfing.

The property was just a described and an absolute great place! From morning runs near the golf course, steps away from the pool/BBQs, our morning visitors (roosters, chickens and NeNe) it was an absolutely delightful vacation. Ideal location if you want to stay along the North shore! We had a wonderful 20 year anniversary trip. Would definitely stay again.

Our stay was amazing. Since the island is so small it is a beautiful place to make home base. Condo was perfect for 4 adults. Very comfortable. Supermarket in Princeville is just minutes away for any food need. Best dining experiences were - Tahiti Nui restaurant for sit down dinner and L&L Hawaiian bbq - for box lunch/dinner. Both in Hanalay Bay. 10 minute drive. Overall - we give our stay a 10 out of 10 !

This condo was perfect for our weekend, especially with a baby. The unit had everything we needed to be comfortable, and proximity to the pool was great. Depending on who is staying in the upstairs unit, it can be a little noisy, but wasn't bad.

The Alai Kai 2 unit was perfectly located with a full complement of amenities. The king bed was very comfortable & both bathrooms were so nice. Both showers were walk-in with rolling glass doors. The kitchen was a modern remodel with granite countertops countertops & stainless steel refrigerator. The living room was nice sized & comfortably furnished. The lanai has an unobstructed garden view with the ocean in the distance. Parking was very close & uncrowded. Alai Kai 2 is located near the of the road & the island’s northern cliffs, so it is a quiet location with no drive through traffic. The owner provided us with all the necessary information & the check in was easy. I would highly recommend this property & hope to rebook it when we return to Kauai!

This property has everything you could want in terms of amenities, and we each enjoyed having our own bathroom with a newly installed large shower. But the very best part for us was the lanai. The view is nicer than in the photo, and waking up to the sounds of birds (minus the roosters) was just so lovely. We had regular morning visits from a family of Nenes as well as many other curious birds as we drank our coffee. This property is well-priced and we would definitely stay here again!

The condo was ideal for our little family. We’ve spent 15 years visiting the North Shore of Kauai and this was a great place to spend the last few days of our couple weeks visit this year.

It was 15 minutes to Hanalei, 20 minutes to Kapaa. Such easy access to restaurants, great shops, and beautiful Hanalei beach. Well set up full kitchen so we cooked at ‘home’ a couple of nights. What a lovely piece of paradise. My husband and I were celebrating our 53rd anniversary and my 70th birthday. This location was perfect. The ground floor accommodations were very comfortable and just what we needed. So close to everything and not that far from planned activities. The roosters were the best alarm clocks !!!! We couldn't have been happier with the Condo or the location. The Condo came equipped with everything we needed for our 10 day stay. The Kitchen was stocked with everything imaginable to make cooking a breeze. The Bbq's at the Pool worked perfectly as was a great added bonus. The property was generally nice. Kitchen was new. Walls in bedrooms/hallways were scuffed up. Bedding, carpet and bathroom showers were dated. Nice patio w visiting rooster. TVs were really small. It was a reasonable option for the price. One of the window screens fell off and the owner responded very quickly. The cleaning person was very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. Not bad if you are in a pinch and need to save some cash but I might look elsewhere in the future.

This condo was perfect for our stay. It was in a great location to enjoy both Princeville and Hanalei. Only about a 10-12 minute drive to Hanalei Bay. What we loved most about this rental was the patio that overlooked lush greenery with a peek of the ocean, having two bathrooms, and the in-unit washer and dryer. Also, opening up all windows provides a wonderful cross breeze during the day and night. Would rent again!

This location a perfect stay for the North shore. Navigating the neighborhood is a little difficult at night but the owners send a PDF of all the info you need to know including how to navigate the neighborhood. The community is nice and quiet and a perfect place for a sunrise / sunset stroll. Within a 20min drive is both the famed Hanalei Bay Pier and the more quiet Anini beach. The free in unit laundry and beach goodies were also game changers. Will definitely look to stay here again in the future!

The setting was beautiful with lots of ducks, roosters and other birds that would literally eat out of your hand. Had a minimal ocean view in the distance but no beach access. Found beaches nearby. Concerned about no A/C when we arrived but climate was such that we were quite comfortable. Ceiling fans in every room did the trick.

We used the beach chairs many times, the kitchen was awesome, and it was nice to have 2 full bathrooms even though it was just my husband and I. It was our first time on Kauai and this was the perfect spot for us. We loved the north side of the island. The patio was the highlight getting to eat breakfast and could see whales out in the ocean. It has all the beach items you could want included! Thankful to stay and would gladly come back to this condo again!

This home is located within perfect proximity of Hanalei and very close to Kapaa' making exploring areas of the island quick and easy. The home is in great condition and very comfortable. We loved being able to sit out in the back and take in the beautiful views with peace and quiet (although the nenes are a little feisty!). Also, sidenote - this is a pretty accessible home given it's on the ground floor with no barrier to entry for anyone looking for a stay that's wheelchair accessible.

We were mostly out of the house exploring, going to the beach, etc. and were only there at night. If you’re looking for a basic place to stay, I would recommend.

We had an amazing vacation in Kauai. For anyone traveling to Kauai for the first time like us, Prineville is large resort on North shore near Hanalei Beach. We really enjoyed this location. The condo is on the end and bottoms m floor with nice view of tropical vegetation and partial ocean view. It felt private and we loved sitting on the lanei drinking coffee and watching birds, especially the Nene geese. The unit was well stocked, clean, and cozy. There is a swimming pool and hot tub nearby that is nice for sunbathing, and swimming since ocean can have large waves and not great for swimming in October. I recommend this rental and plan to come back!

This was a great place for our family vacation. My husband and I enjoyed all of the birds and birdsong from the patio overlooking a forested area. And we did have to gently shoo the nenes away from the door. We used the beach umbrella, chairs and even the frisbee from the ‘fun closet’. I think this was a very good value.

Not on our time on Kauai but our first time in Princeville. We really enjoyed this place! It is a lovely unit, stocked with the necessities (and more!). The pool was great and had a smaller, shallow pool perfect for my toddler. The nenes visit in the morning and will be an added bonus as you sip your morning coffee. Would absolutely stay here again.

We have stayed at several VRBO properties in part because they are places where the owners live. Therefore, we could expect fully equipped and updated kitchens, many little things that make a place a home, nice owners to deal with, cleanliness. From the moment we walked in, we realized we had a problem. The smell of mildew just overpowered, especially in one bedroom and within the kitchen cabinets. The carpeting was badly spotted, many draperies had water stains. There were many, many problems in décor. We had no directions, no sign out sheet. I talked to one of the owners the last night and he said as of Jan. 25th, they will totally remodel/redecorate. This property should not have been on a VRBO list in its present condition. Take another look at it after it has been redone.
Other features of the complex were nice. The pool/hot tub area were large, clean. Princeville, even in the rain, is always lovely.

It was a 2 br, 2 ba condo. Very clean and very quiet. Hosts were easy to contact and work with. Their pre-rental guidelines were clear and to the point. They are very friendly folks. Having a kitchen and a w/d in the unit made the stay beyond a dream...all we had to do was relax and enjoy our stay. The condo is close to everything. A bonus was having access to their pool equipment, beach chairs and two sets of golf clubs. The clubs are old but convenient. It was great fun. The decor was decidedly '70's beach resort but very comfortable. Not a great selection of DVD's and no Netflix or HBO, but they did have two larger screen tv's, so bring your own DVD's or go to the local shops to buy DVD's. Better yet, read one of their books on the shelves. It was great fun and they told me they will be renovating the condo for the coming summer. Highly recommend them.

The space was as pictured and very clean. Spaciousness and view were very nice. Liked the ceiling fans on every room. Temps were up so we really needed them. Well equipped kitchen. Plenty of towels for beach and bath use.Also beach equipment chairs snorkel etc. Pool was convienetly located as was parking. When we wanted one on one suggestions there was the Akaii office across the street with a person smiling and willing to give us info. Loved sitting out on the patio for our morning breakfasts. The many types of birds greeting us was an unexpected pleasure. I would highly recommend this condo and will hope to return.

Complete kitchen with spices, a few staples.. had movies, games, and half a dozen Kauai guide books.. washer, dryer, and the "fun closet" was the best.. everything u could possibly need.. snorkeling gear, fins, golf clubs, beach towels, coolers, beach chairs, boogie boards. It was very quiet and had a great view from the patio where we enjoyed breakfast every morning. Owners were great to deal with also. Highly recommended.

Lovely condo on ground floor. Absolutely beautifully decorated and gorgeous views. Great kitchen, with nice appliances and very up-scale dishes. There is also a great closet filled with boogie boards, snorkeling equipment, a cooler, beach chairs, etc. Owners are very nice to deal with - very responsive and organized. Only downside was that I had to leave!

The condo was clean and nicely located within Princeville. With the open windows and ceiling fans, there was always a nice tropical breeze within the condo's bedrooms. Both bedrooms and bathrooms were a good size, and the kitchen was well-stocked with utensils and whatever you might need while making light meals. The Wifi had a great connection, which was important to us. The view was beautiful, the neighboring birds and chickens very friendly, and the price was fantastic. We would definitely stay here again when traveling to the North Shore of Kauai!
