At first we were not happy with this property bc there was no AC and it was very hot inside. The towels and sheets were cheap and need to be replaced. HOWEVER, once we opened the doors and windows, set up fans in all the rooms it was nice. The second day we were overwhelmed with happiness. Such an awesome location, 1 minute walk to the beach. Fantastic neighborhood. Bliss! Outdoor covered deck was breezy and cool. Wonderful place to hang during rainstorms. The BBQ grill is from the stone age, charcoal briquets with lighter liquid. Owners def need to upgrade the grill. Lower bedroom facing the carport has no air flow in the evening. It's hot and sticky. Maybe kids wouldn't mind, but an adult would not be very happy. The other lower bedroom is perfectly fine at night. Not perfect so I took 1 star off. Overall the fantastic location makes it a winner.

Fantastic deck, easy comfortable furnishings, with the beach just 2 minutes away by foot. The neighborhood is quiet and calm so that most of the time you only hear the ocean breeze, birds, and the ocean. After snorkeling at all the north shore beaches, the local neighborhood one is by far the best! There are few shops nearby, so highly recommend grocery shopping in Lihue or Princeville and renting beach gear in Hanalei on your way in. The house is a bit dated, but it’s absolutely gorgeous and makes for a very easy, comfortable family environment. We can’t wait to come back.

We absolutely loved staying at this property! It was a 2 min walk to a beautiful beach with hardly anyone else there. House came equipped with beach chairs, sand toys, towels, boogie boards and snorkel gear. Really beautiful wood ceiling and beams. Highly recommend!

Property is truly amazing and just a short walk to the beach. If you want the north shore tropical experience this is the way to go. We grilled fresh fish almost every night and had amazing weather. Communication with Acacia was easy and responses were quick. Only catch is you will probably have no need for a morning alarm because the roosters take care of it for you and they do it early.

The lower level was very damp and the property manager was rude about resolving the issue We finally got them to put in a dehumidifier and air purifier but they were very rude about it. The place was so musty that the first night we slept outside. The upstairs was good but overall the place wasn’t very clean Great location though.

Cute little house perfect for our needs. The location is remote but has a nice beach just a short walk away. The house itself is a bit dated and could use a couple fixes in the kitchen, but that wasn’t a huge deal for us. Overall it was a good stay.

It’s a special place and we feel very lucky and blessed to have experienced “ this side of the island”. We’ll be back! Gratitudes are many…

We had an amazing stay, walking distance to multiple beaches. At low tide you can walk the beach all the way to Hā’ena state park beach. 1 mile to hiking on the Kanapali coast. Perfect place to get off the beaten path and enjoy Kauai.

The home was a perfect choice for our first week of our Hawaii visit. Location is quiet (except for the occasional morning Rooster lol..) Short walk to a very nice, secluded and sparsely used beach. Was nice to be able to be a short drive away from Hanalei but also be away from town far enough to enjoy the peach and quiet.

We loved our stay! It was something out of a dream. We love the north shore and have always wanted to stay in a house as far north as we could find. This house was perfect. It was private and nestled in the most beautiful surroundings. Birds and geckos, flowers and palms. The unique design of the house appealed to our taste. It was comfortable inside and out, but to be honest we spent most of our time outside on the huge, covered lanai. The furniture out there was super nice and very comfortable, unlike some you find at vacation rentals. The kitchen was adequate for preparing simple meals and snacks. A toaster oven was particularly handy. We loved the short walk to the beach that felt completely private. On a busy day we shared it with about 6 other people. We were so happy and comfortable, we found it hard to leave. The sound of birds and geckos chirping, the rustle of the palms in the breeze, and the sound of the rain each night was pure magic. Oh, and the stars! An absolute world away. Our host Acacia was immediately responsive and helpful from booking through checkout. I would recommend this rental and we hope to return soon. I left a piece of my heart there for sure.

Ideal location away from the noise of the world, but a walk away from the beach and snorkeling, close to Hanalei for fresh fish to put on the charcoal grill and essential groceries and a car drive away anywhere on the island.

Plenty of space for who was in my group. Two teenage boys and my mom. Master bedroom does not have a door and is open to the rest of the house. Not a problem for us, but it wouldn't bode well if you're couples seeking privacy. Tons of deck space, so close to a public beach that nobody goes to. Kitchen was well stocked. That being said, the kitchen needs to either be re-grouted and re caulked, or re done, There was a heat wave, so the ice maker wouldn't work. These didn't pose issues for us, but I know other reviewers had problems. Construction next door still going on, but they never started before 8, never stayed late, and didn't work on the weekends.

This vrbo fit our needs well. It was light and airy. We had a friendly gecko that spent the week with us on the ceiling, but otherwise no indoor critter concerns. This place is spacious with just the right amount of furniture. The power went out twice, but back on within a few hrs; did not bother us. The property next door is under construction so there was that noise during daylight hrs, but again we were not bothered by it. Our kids (ages 8-13) were comfortable sleeping in the downstairs area and had no issues with coming upstairs as needed. Roads to get to the property were under construction so getting to and from other parts of the island were a little more time-consuming than we thought they'd be. Overall this was a great place to stay.

We vacationed with our family of 5 to this special property on the north shore of Kauai. The best thing about this house, would be how close you are to the beach. We were able to walk down to the beach & watch many sunsets there ~ they were amazing! The best feature about this house had to be the spacious outdoor deck area. We ate most of our meals out there, rain or shine. The house had many board games for the rainy days. We played "Ocean themed" monopoly a few times, which the kids loved! We all had a great time staying here ~ thank you! Highly recommend.

We spent an amazing week in Kauai , this round shape house is unique, spacious, and the patio is large. The garden has so much variety, it’s incredible. The wind flows through the house at night, which makes a very comfortable sleep. Thank you for an amazing stay.

Wonderful place to stay, beautiful property. Very close to the beach with the best snorkeling on the island. Managers were very friendly when we had an issue with the front door and fixed it immediately. We would definitely stay there again.

Had a great stay on Kauai. The beach was one of the best beaches we have ever been to. Kitchen was great to use! The laundry room was so nice to have & had snorkels, tubes & beach chairs for you to use.

June 2022
We came here with our grown children and their significant others, and found this to be the perfect home for an extended group like that. There is a lot of room to spread out, and there are so many sitting areas you have to choose where you want to hang out under the lanai! The kitchen is well-appointed and functional. We really appreciated the beach chairs and umbrellas in the storage room. The location is great, you can hear the ocean from the house and it's just 5min or less to a very nice beach. And it's also very close to Tunnels Beach and Haena State Park. Parking at those highly-desirable beaches is not a problem: we dropped off people and gear there, then one person drove back to the house and parked the car and walked back, no big deal. We would definitely stay here again.

This is a fabulous vacation rental. It is surrounded by foliage in every direction. It is completely private. The house was very well stocked with all the amenities needed. Location was great right across the street from the ocean with easy access to the beach. The tropical foliage was beautiful and the Birdsong was sweet. We will definitely plan on returning.

We loved the house with its short stroll to a great beach for the kids and snorkeling. The very private yard felt like you were looking out into a jungle and the spacious lanai was used for practically every meal. We will be back!

Fantastic location if you want to get away from it all. Great casual beach house. Perfect for family. Great space. Well-stocked for those who might want to cook a couple meals at home. Quiet neighborhood (except for some construction next door). Highly recommend.

March 2022
We really enjoyed our week at this house in February 2022. The pre-trip communications from Acacia and Keith were clear and comprehensive; we didn't need their help at all while we were there. The location of the house is picturesque, between Hanalei (15 minutes drive) and the end of the road where the Napali Coast begins (10 minutes drive). A three minute-walk down the quiet road and a very short path and you're on a beautiful beach (incredibly soft sand, we saw a monk seal one morning, good snorkeling, hardly any people except locals). We also explored nearby Lumaha'i Beach (the swimming for kids is excellent on the north end where the river meets the ocean), and we journeyed one morning to Anini Beach Park (crowded beach 30 minutes away with good snorkeling - saw 4 green sea turtles, stopped at the nearby mini-golf and playground for the kids, also visited the lighthouse near there). The house itself is nice enough. We spent much time outside on the very big lanai. Inside upstairs there isn't much noise separation between rooms so be aware of that for the evening/night times and plan accordingly. The downstairs suite is also nice; we didn't mind that the access is from the outside only and not from upstairs, as it's an easy climb up one set of covered outside stairs to get from one to the other. The kitchen is stocked with usable-enough pots/pans/dishes such that we were able to cook meals easily enough. The internet access was great. We didn't watch any TV so can't comment on the setup. The washer and dryer around the back of the house worked well. The only complaint we had was the house being built on the property immediately adjacent. One morning we contended with jackhammering (we left and went to the beach) and others with lesser construction noise. Still, even with that, the peacefulness of the house and its proximity to a great beach were worth it.

February 2022
Great property, close to the beach. House was clean and had everything needed. Manager easy to work with. Would love to stay again!

The home was amazing and the location was perfect. You can hear the waves and walk an extremely short distant to the beach. Nice and quite neighborhood that was close to any and all type of beach that you want to visit.

February 2022
Upon first impression, we were blown away with the location, the outside space, and the local beach. After settling in, we were blown out of the water with the amazing and magical experiences we had We spent the days lounging at the beach observing the local wildlife (i.e. monk seals!), snorkeling in the protected cove, and biking to the end of the road to hike the famous Kalalau trail. At night, we lounged on the expansive deck (you can really spread out!) and watched the gecko's scurrying, listened to birds and roosters fight for attention, BBQ'd, and saw so many stars. The inside of the house was perfect for our group with comfortable furniture and a great kitchen to cook in. It also felt really private and secluded, even though it was in a neighborhood. All-in-all, we could not have asked for a better experience on Kauai.

Very comfortable accommodations for the six of us , including our two (adult) kids and their spouses during our January 2022 stay. Relaxing breakfasts on the deck, 3 minutes footpath to the local beach , 15 minutes by car to Hanalei Bay for groceries, eating out and everything you need. Great hike on the Kalalau trail (with State Park reservations), Queens Bath , Tunnels and Lumahai beaches. Very pleasant rental experience , definitely can recommend .

Perfect remote treehouse. QUIET. Peaceful. 360 Views of lush greenery. Very close to the beach. It’s the tropics, so expect bugs, geckos, some birds. The only thing unexpected, was that the downstairs bedrooms do not connect through the inside of house. If I had known that, I probably wouldn’t have booked it because I do have children. But that would’ve been a mistake. We would’ve missed out on this very special location. It ended up working out perfectly and we were sad to leave. There was a small Wi-Fi cable issue that the owners worked very diligently to resolve. It was a provider problem, not a house problem.

This is a great house in a great location. We really appreciated how well equipped the kitchen was and the house in general. The yard/garden is worth the stay alone. Throw in a short walk to Tunnels Beach and it is perfect. Great communications when setting everything up and as the date approached for the stay. Many thanks for sharing your lovely home with us.

This property is great for one or two families or a few small groups of friends. It is a very quick walk to the beach and to the hanalei colony resort where there is a restaurant and cafe. Conveniently located between hanalei and tunnels beach. Only thing to note: the upstairs master is open to the kitchen and living room, which isn’t a problem with family or friends but should be noted. Great stay with the right group! Would stay again for sure.

Acacia was a great and responsive host. Answered all my questions and gave plenty of info and tips before hand. The home was a great place for our visit to north shore of Kauai. It's a little further away from Hanalei than I anticipated but it didn't really bother us all that much. It's a unique home with lots of character and charm. The main floor and master suite are separated by the outside deck from the two bedrooms below so if you're looking for everyone to be in one room, this is not that place. However if you are looking for some privacy this offers just that. There are tons of space around the house to lounge in and a big backyard. Some beach chairs and a outdoor shower as well for when you return from the beaches. Super close to Tunnel's beach which is fantastic. Overall was a positive stay!

July 2021
The house was clean, in a great location and Acacia was a pleasure to communicate with. The beach that was a min walk from the house was my favorite beach I went to. Just make sure you plan around the convoy if you are going out of Hanalei. Thanks for a great stay!

We loved staying in this Haena beach house, which we lovingly called our tree house because of the beautiful gardens all around the property which we enjoyed from the wrap around deck. My family of 6 stayed in the summer and the beach was awesome! We enjoyed snorkeling at tunnels which was a short distance away. The house was very spacious and well equipped. We would definitely stay here again.

June 2021
We absolutely enjoyed our stay here. First off communication with Acacia was spot on and we always knew what to expect from the house to the road situation getting into Hanalei. The house had everything you could need for a stay and the house is huge. The beaches right across the street and reefs off the beach have to be some of the best in Hawaii. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us Mahalos The Smiths 🤙🤙

After rescheduling our visit twice, we finally made it to this beautiful area of Kaua’i. This home - both the layout and location- was just perfect for our family of 4 adults and one child. Hours were spent on the fantastic deck and exploring the yards ( lots of lizards, birds and insects and flowers!). We walked to the beach at least daily for play, sunset and sunrise watching. We also walked to the restaurant/ coffee shop just down the road. The home is perfectly located to explore the more remote ( and less crowded) areas. We spent one day at Tunnels Beach and my favorite, Limahuli Garden. We ventured to Hanalei for restaurants and the beach several times. I can’t say enough about my communications with Acacia! There were so many changes happening both locally and with Covid restrictions that we were unsure if we’d actually make it there. But Acacia responded immediately to all of my concerns and change of plans. I’m so happy we finally made it! We’re all ready to return

June 2021
Lovely older house in amazing neighborhood. A bit dark, old fixtures & everything.....but big, and in the perfect spot. Would come back.
