This cove is a beautiful for swimming for even the novice and other water activities. My issue is each condominium is owned by a different person and the overall cost is based on the size of the unit. Our unit was one bedroom with a loft. We didn't need the loft but it was the only option available. The owner of our unit didn't upgrade the unit or put any investment into making it more comfortable. The towels were old and very used. We were there 10 nights and no cleaning of the unit or extra sheets or towels for a long stay. In other units they had this small amenity. We were paying $400.00 a night and it would have been nice if there was a cleaning mid stay. Other condos have cleaning and towels cleaned and sheets in 4 days. If you get a unit (no way to know) with the guidance of Campo, the manager, who helps the "regulars" get the renovated units it would be nice or they should lower the fee for the old units that are not cleaned unless you stay 2 weeks. The location is good for restaurants and there are 3 barbecues but the kitchen is electric and not very functional. The workers cleaned the grass every morning and that was good. You are expected to take out your garbage. I am not a snob but for $400.00 a night - I expect more attention and a better unit. The kitchen chairs rolled and were a poor choice in my opinion.

We had a wonderful time at Honokeana Cove! It was our first time staying there. We had a wonderful view of the cove and ocean, and loved snorkeling and seeing the fish and huge turtles! Our condo was well stocked with everything we needed, including a cooler bag in which we packed a lunch for our drive to Hana. We enjoyed walking to the Gazebo Restaurant, as well as a beautiful beach to the North. I would highly recommend this property to friends! It was such a relaxing and enjoyable trip. We hope to return someday.

If you’re looking for a place to unwind and reconnect with family and friends look no further. The Honokeana is what the doctor ordered. It is well maintained, has private ocean access with some of the best snorkeling on Maui. There are turtles, fish and if you’re lucky you may see a small octopus in the cove. You can’t go wrong staying at the Honokeana Cove!

We enjoyed Honokeana Cove and our unit was clean and kitchen was well stocked with kitchen dishes, glasses and baking items. Our view was amazing but the trees do get in the way for whale watching. 😉 Bathrooms are small but we learned to adapt. Su is wonderful! Grounds beautiful.

Beautiful location / view off the balcony. Best snorkeling we found is right out in Honokeana Cove (and we spent $400 on snorkeling boat trips). Specific unit we were in was a little "over-furnitured", but that was a minor annoyance. Unit had everything we needed, was clean and well maintained.

I've always loved staying at the Cove. Been here a half dozen times and hope for another half dozen at least. The condos express individual personalities but are always homey and welcoming. The other guests have been great to socialize with, and there's a genuine feel of "ohana" throughout my stay. Thanks, Su, for all you do... much appreciated!

This was our 7th time to the Cove. Like always Su, Ray, and Betty were great. The grounds were immaculate, so many turtles to swim with every day plus a bonus this year, we actually were visited by a couple seals, so awesome. This place by far is the best in Maui. As far as condo #213, would not stay at this condo again, I guess the best way to describe it is “Tired”, loft bed mattress needs an upgrade, not very comfortable, and the pillows were just as bad. Carpets were a little dingy especially the one downstairs, and the rest of carpet seemed dirty. Kitchen supplies not as nice as other units, we like to cook most of our meals there, they had no containers with any lids to store leftovers or put fruit in etc...they had two Tommy Bahama beach chairs but one was broken, plus the closets were cluttered with stuff, “just need to clean them out” furniture downstairs just seemed old and run down, I get this a rental property but if your getting top dollar, you need to spend a little to keep it nice, especially the loft bed! Trip was great, like I said Su, Ray and Betty were outstanding. We will definitely return just not to #213! Bring back Pupu Wednesdays, we can social distance out there.

My husband and I brought our 2 recently graduated grandchildren to the cove as a grad gift. The 2 of us had been there 3times and knew they would love the cove for snorkeling and seeing the turtles and fish. We all explored Maui and it was a wonderful experience together.

We loved our stay at Honokeana Cove! The condo area is gated with a nice grassy area for younger kids to play in. Sunsets are stunning from the condos balconies and the yard. Checkin was east and staff very friendly!

40 years ago I visited with my mother and learned to snorkel. After traveling the world snorkeling The state of the coral here and other beaches in Maui was disappointing, although I enjoyed the turtles. The condo was very nice although the carpets were dirty. The difficulty in turning on the tv and the wifi was frustrating. The wifi didn't work for 4 days and the front desk said I was on holiday so shouldn't get on line or watch tv. That was not helpful. There was no list in the condo of local restaurants, or recommended snorkeling sites and boats, nor any list of other things to do, such as the butterfly farm and bee area. That is always helpful. Given the extra charge for cleaning I think the cleaners should have emptied the garbage.

The condo was cozy, clean and artistically decorated. The kitchen was well stocked with items we needed. Enjoyed having AC in bedrooms. Info on operating AC unit would have been helpful. My only complaint the bed pillows were hard as rocks and extremely uncomfortable. The pillows were so uncomfortable I did not get a good night sleep our entire stay. I woke up every morning with a sore neck and shoulders. Despite uncomfortable pillows I will return again and again!!!

The unit is better than advertised. The location is stunning. Of coarse swimming with the turtles daily is the highlight wether you are 6 or 60. Our favourite accommodation on Maui, and having been coming to Maui since the 70's we have stayed in many.

We rented 3 units. 2 of them thru management. Everything went very smoothly from check in to check out. There was a hot water issue that was addressed very quickly. My daughter and family stayed in unit 213. They were very comfortable there. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and pans and supplies. They liked having the air conditioning at nite. Can’t think of any negatives.

Very nice overall stay. Condo was nice and clean upon arrival. The loft bed grew on you over time. Ladies in front office were very helpful upon arrival and for any other information. Beautiful grounds, views and location. Plan to return soon but only problem is you need to plan early so you can get units and location you desire. Thanks for a enjoyable vacation!

The location of this rental is the main appeal. View from the balcony was very nice. The unit itself is old and has been minimally maintained. Furnishings are worn, mismatched and outdated. The decor is very unappealing; cluttered, poorly displayed, too much in a small space. There is nothing modern or chosen to appeal to guests expecting quality. Bedding is old and worn. Cleanliness was appalling. We had to scrub the front door inside of black handprints and ask to have bedroom drapes cleaned. Both bathrooms were in terrible shape; discoloured tiles, vanities too big or too small for the space, upstairs glass shower door had no metal trim on the bottom edge where it slid in the brass track. Closets were cluttered with owners belongings. The bedroom window trims are rotted from the humidity along with some kitchen cabinet doors. The louver windows open onto the parking lot and the main road and do not shut out the noise so we were forced to use ear plugs at night during our 8 day stay. The front door deadbolt did not work properly and the chain latch was very old. There was incomplete poorly worded information on how to operate TV/DVD. WIFI password info was incorrect. The owners of this unit obviously keep the rate low to attract consistent rentals and do the very minimum to maintain it. We were extremely disappointed as the photos online do not reflect the actual condition. Each unit is privately owned and maintained differently. This unit was like staying in someone's old outdated apartment while they were away somewhere. Did not fit at all with the exterior surroundings.

It was a wonderful family vacation. My adult children stayed in this unit. Nice furnishings. The cove is a great place to snorkel with the turtles and fish. They did mention that the sheets and comforters were a bit scratchy. The units on this side are open in the back to the parking lot and walk way which can be a bit noisy. It was a busy week with Easter and a wedding party is noisier then usual. Usually a quiet safe secluded place

We have been staying at The Cove for more than 20 years. It has been an experience we look forward to each year. The view is lovely, the staff is fantastic, the other guests are great to meet. And the weekly pu pu party is not to be missed!
