Our one bedroom loft condo was perfect for our family of four. Kids loved the pool and we had no problem taking turns in the cove snorkeling while still with the family during nap times. Staff were incredible and the place was spotless. We had so many turtle experiences in the cove; way better than expensive boat trips. Would definitely love to come back!

This was our first time back since the fire. While Lahaina Town is sadly gone and will take a long time to rebuild, there is still much to do. We ziplined on Haleakala, rode horseback at Circle M ranch and went fishing out of Maalaea harbor. And the Cove was packed with turtles as usual.

We stayed at Honokeana Cove a few times about 20 years ago. We thought we would come back and stay again as we remember it being such a quiet and peaceful place to relax. Amazingly nothing much has changed. Still an excellent place to unwind. The location and view can not be beat. Just be sure to ask how to get into the water to snorkel!!!

Before I tear into the condition of 211, I want to state clearly that my wife and I love Honokeana Cove, the grounds, the location, the staff and the amenities. This review, however, will focus on condo #211 and its significant deficiencies and what a poor representation it is of an otherwise wonderful property.I'll start with first impressions. When we entered the property, the dishwasher wasn't functional (and was never repaired during our two week stay), the AC was not cooling and a towel rack was broken and hanging limply from the wall in the first floor bathroom, above which there was an old patch in the ceiling, likely from a leak, that was never painted or finished. Old, cheap, rusting plumbing fixtures populated both bathrooms and all of the low-grade, plastic, faux-metal towel racks were peeling and flaking at the edges. The lighting in the kitchen and bathrooms were old, halogen tubes reminiscent 1980's office buildings. The bath mat and various places on the carpeting were stained. I could delve into further disappointing detail, but hopefully I've made my point clear. This place is sad and, honestly, unacceptable unless offered a some deep discount and a disclaimer that the unit may elicit bad memories of old HoJo stays during college road trips.I fear the owners of this condo have no respect for their unit and certainly none for Honokeana Cove. I never imagined a million dollar property could ever be so sad, shabby and disinvested especially since so many other owners are making their units increasingly nice. We saw many others during our stay and were quite impressed with the majority. I believe #211 is a clear argument for why the HOA should have more exacting minimum standards. A brand can't maintain a quality reputation with units like this.

The property was very beautiful and the snorkeling was amazing. The pool was nice, the laundry rooms convenient and overall was a great place to be. Our unit could have been a little more comfortable and updated. There were several coffee makers but they didn't all work. I think they just need to put one good new coffee maker in there. The kitchen could be better stocked and organized. I would stay again but in a different unit.

Excellent location for a get away from the crowds at Lahaina and Kaanapali. Condo 211 needs a little maintenance (carpet needs cleaning, living room fan squeaks on medium and high speeds). Children are not as welcomed as adults (residents complain about too much noise during non-quiet hours, when the kids are having fun near the pool area.

This is such a special place. We spent hours snorkeling in the cove watching the turtles and fish. We spotted lots of eels and octopuses. For us, it's the perfect combination of location and reasonable price. The lovely lawn and pool area are very secluded and more than make up for the lack of sandy beach; in fact, we found we prefer the lack of sand. True, these are not luxury condos, but who needs that when you are in the sun and sea all day? We were more than comfortable with our group in an upstairs unit, and we loved waking up to drink coffee on the lanai and watch the water.

Awesome snorkeling steps from condo AND 5min walk to sandy beach, what else do you need! No need for a boat snorkel tour as we saw tons of turtles, all sorts of reef fish, eels, urchins as well as even an octopus! Also, discovered restaurant in neighboring resort with great happy hour and reasonably priced meals. I emailed the manager to ask if there were any beach toys (never got a reply) but discovered four beach chairs, two boogie boards and an array of snorkeling gear that was in the closet and put to good use. Overall, great place with awesome snorkeling!

We are repeat visitors and have stayed in various units. The location of the unit was good. Here are what could be done to improve it. Carpets need to be cleaned, kitchen lacks everyday items such as cookie sheet, pans to go in the oven, glass pans, etc. The mattress upstairs needs to be switched out as it is extremely hard! Many other units at the cove have well appointed kitchen supplies.

We had a great time at Honokeana cove. The unit was nice and clean with all the amenities. The pool was well used by us and the kids, and the snorkelling in the bag was great.We wish we looked around better for the beach and snorkel gear that was in the closet, as we rented a beach set (snorkel, chairs, cooler, chairs) and didn't have to. Kitchen stove was a bit dated and not all the elements worked. But we were able to manage. condo was missing a plug for the bathtub, and the shower upstairs could use a new shower head.Will likely come back again to Honokeana Cove again.

We spent two weeks in 211 and loved every minute of it. Nicely furnished, fully equipped, and very clean. The view was spectacular, so much so that we did not turn on the TV the whole time. We had meals and beverages on the lanai and enjoyed the awesome view instead.We love the water, pool and ocean, so we always had towels to dry out, but virtually no hooks anywhere to hang them out to dry. More hooks would be great!Thanks again, we had a great time!

Beautiful smaller complex with helpful management on site. The unit was small, but adequate for 4 people. The views and the closeness to the water made up for the small living space and the hard beds in bedroom. Loft bedroom had great king matress on the bed. Nice kitchen, but both bathrooms were old and tired. Overall it was comfortable, and I would come back.

We have been to Honokeana several times before. This was our first stay in Unit 211. The view is terrific and the suite spacious. The furnishings and Decor are dated and tired. Carpeting needs replacement and the bathrooms need upgrading. I did note that the kitchen and appliances had been upgraded. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The staff is helpful. I will stay at Honokeana again but not in suite 211.

The location is magical, the property is in a cove that has so much vibrant sea life (huge turtles, lots of fish) and view that rivals anything else on the island. The grounds are immaculate, a great pool if you don't feel like snorkeling in the ocean), clean quality BBQs, onsite laundry, the other residents are friendly, I can't say enough about it. The condo itself is so comfortable and just the right size. The balcony patio is the perfect place to hang out and take it all in . The bedroom has a good A/C unit and double pane windows so its quiet. It was fun to go explore the rest of the island but everytime I couldn't wait to get back to the condo and enjoy it!

What an amazing location! Close to all the great attractions of the island, this condo is perfect to enjoy with friends or family. The balcony view is so picturesque and relaxing, you don't want to leave!
Our days were filled with swimming with the beautiful sea turtles that were right outside our door and evening barbecuing by the pool. The rooms were cozy and quiet so we could rest up for our next days adventures!
I will definitely be coming back! Mahalo!

I hadn't been back to Maui for close to 8 years but I was glad to see that this spot is just as wonderful today as it was 8 years ago. Nice condo, perfect size! Great view from the Lanai. Bedroom has a/c and double pane widows. Looking to go back next year! All staff was wonderful!

My family of 5 (3 children, 2 adults) loved staying at Honokeana Cove. It was amazing to be able to experience snorkeling with the sea turtles and all of the tropical fish right out our front door. Our loft condo had a great view. Everyone in the complex was friendly. Any issues we had with the condo were addressed right away (ie. light bulb changes etc.). The pool was great to swim in when we were done exploring or swimming at the close beaches nearby. We will definitely stay here again.

we spend a week every year inFebruary at the Cove. Watching the sea turtles,whales and birds is what it is all about for us. But friends can be made around the pool and the weekly pups party. The location of the condo makes it easy to go to the two local farmer's markets. Groceries, espresso and small cafes are close by. The kitchen has recently been remodeled. As has the master bath. Air conditioning is available for sleeping during summer months. Attractive, comfortable furnishing help us make the most of our vacation.

Our family enjoyed their first trip together to Maui. The Honokeana Cove could not have been a better location for this. The property is amazing. I am an early riser and watched every morning as the property was carefully groomed. The pool was very clean and access to the beach was very simple. Check in and check out were made easy and we were given permission to utilize the beach even after checkout. I would definitely recommend this property as it is the best snorkeling in Maui. Only con is that the rooms are a little worn and could use some TLC. Baseboard needs repair and some wall patches were poorly done. All things I can live with. Otherwise, I will be back.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Honokeana Cove. Being able to enter the ocean from the property to snorkel was a plus. The staff was helpful and the grounds were well maintained. It is a lovely view as well. Our unit was somewhat dated and needs new furniture. The kitchen itself was fine but the dishes, utensils and cookware could be replaced to help refresh the unit. It is a small complex which is nice but you are also in close audio and visual contact with the neighbors. Again, we had a very nice stay.

Honokeana Cove was still undergoing its major renovation of the building where I stayed; as a result, there were many disruptions such as unfinished details, workmen everywhere, inspections of the unit where I stayed, etc. Not very relaxing at times, so I would hope it gets better from this point on. The management was professional and very helpful. In retrospect, it would have been better to wait and rent when the renovation was complete, but of course, the property is losing a lot of revenue while waiting for completion.
