This unit is so close to the ocean that it feels like your on a cruise ship! It was so nice to wake up and see the sea turtles snacking below the lanai each morning. We were also lucky enough to witness 2 humpback whales breaching and showing their huge tails one afternoon. Joe and Naomi are great to deal with and answer questions in a timely manner. The bed is very comfortable too. Great stay! Thank you.

The views at all the different times of the day were exquisite, the sunsets, the sound of the waves putting you to sleep at night all were so calming. We loved watching the sea turtles from the Lanai. And the condo was so comfortable with everything we needed. And, even though the beach is a 5 min walk we found when looking for other more famous beaches that the one closest to the condo was the quietest and had the calmest waves. Thank you for this lovely place for our time to get away. We needed it!

I will never forget the beautiful view from this place. Close to all the major places in Lahaina area and you get your own parking space which is a hard to find in Hawaii. Great place for a couple to relax and enjoy seeing turtles everyday from your own lanai (balcony).

Just north of Lahaina. Close to great snorkeling in Honolua Bay. Not very big, but a great home base for your daily excursions on Maui.

The view in this studio is to die for! You open the door and the first thing you see is the ocean. Literally right on top of the water! We watched turtles non-stop from the lanai. Everything you need is in this perfect little condo and the hosts are wonderful! It was truly a perfect stay.

Having been to multiple Hawaiian islands multiple times, my wife and I have stayed in a variety of accommodations from ultra luxury resorts to budget hotels. This is by far one of the best locations and accommodations we have ever enjoyed on the islands. The “on-the-ocean” view from the private lanai is remarkable. Countless whale sightings and sea turtles nibbling along the rocks was readily available anytime you walked out of the condo. A full sized well stocked kitchen provided convenient meal prep and dining space. The king size bed was incredibly comfortable and listening to the waves crashing through the night was hypnotically serene. The bathroom size, counter space and storage was ample for two. And the jacuzzi tub/shower was a plus. The final component that made our stay carefree and convenient was the reserved parking right next to the condo. The geographical location is also a BIG advantage. You are a 5-10 minute drive to Lahaina Town and 5-10 minutes away from top snorkeling spots on Maui. Be sure to check out Slaughterhouse Beach, just 7 minutes north for a beautiful beach framed by volcanic cliffs and magnificent snorkeling.

Joe and Naomi’s place has really nice oceanfront views. We enjoyed watching the sunset every evening from the lanai. We watched whales one morning, and that was an enjoyable experience. We appreciated the King size bed, four large ceiling fans, a large size fridge, and the beach chairs and coolers we could take to different beaches for snorkeling. We would definitely consider staying there as long as the price stays reasonable in the future.

The lanai is amazing for whale- and turtle-watching. The space is perfect for two people, and the location is minutes away from some of our favorite beaches on Maui. The second-story corner unit is great for quiet mornings and evenings, and included everything we needed: Beach chairs, umbrella, cooler. Would highly recommend!

The view from the linai was wonderfully with Lina’i to the left and Molakai to the right. My only complaint was the very noisy neighbor directly below us. People can hear him at Honolulu. Other than that, the condo was exactly what we wanted.

I couldn't of been happier with this location. Not only were we able to see sea turtles eating off the rocks every morning but we were just steps away from the shore. The unit had everything we could ever need and was local to stores/restaurants. Very safe and quiet but still close enough to night life. When I go back to Maui, I will be staying at this unit. It will not be my home away from home. Super pleased with the whole island experience!!

Photos of this property do not do it justice. As soon as you walk through the front door, and look through to the balcony, all you see beyond that is the ocean - and a few turtles popping their heads up to say hello!
Location is perfect. The property has everything you need to be completely self sufficient - all the way down the beach chairs and umbrellas to make your days at the beach even better. If I was to return to Maui, I would definitely stay here again!

My husband and I went to Maui for his 30th birthday and honeymoon and Joe and Naomi's property was better than we could have ever imagined! It was literally on the beach, which was very secluded and intimate. We swam next to two turtles and woke up one morning to one laying on the beach right outside our door. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience! It was a walk away from the grocery store and awesome restaurants. We barely had to use our rental car. It was very clean and they had all the necessities. We couldn't have asked for a better honeymoon thanks to Joe and Naomi! :) We plan on returning to Maui in the future and hope to stay at their place again!

Our experience with this property was tops! The owners were very responsive and provided excellent information about the unit, the neighborhood, directions around the island, and more! Comfy amenities, excellent ocean front balcony where we could hang out and watch the turtles all day long. There were so many! There is a beach right next door to the unit. The parking space is right next to the unit as well- it's all right there! The pool in the complex is super relaxing and beautiful. I would absolutely stay here again and again!

Got all the amenities you’ll need too. If I were to nitpick, the ac unit is very very loud but not really an issue if you’re used to white noise.

Stayed here back in 2015 and really enjoyed it. Now that covid is "going away" we decided to come back to maui. Saw it was available again and immediately reached out to get it this year. It's just the right size for a couple. MASSIVE lanai to watch the sunset from, watch the turtles and the SUP folks doing their thing. Parking is my #1 pet peeve in hawaii and this place has it's own private spot right next to the stairs. The location is perfect with plenty of places within walking distance and even more within driving distance.

My wife and I chose this location for our anniversary vacation. I don't know if I can do justice to the amazing week we had here. Rainbows every morning, sunsets every evening, and turtles every day! The location is perfect, just past the main "resort row," allowing easy access to shopping (both souvenirs and groceries) and dining but without constant traffic outside. You are literally feet from the ocean, but the second-story setting gives an even better view, along with additional privacy. There was a TV and A/C, but we never felt the need to turn either on, the natural setting and climate was that perfect. We don't get to Hawai'i as often as we'd like (how many mainlanders do, really?), but when we do we would definitely stay here again. Thank you, Naomi and Joe!

This is our second stay at this VRBO and once again we were very pleased with the location. There was a small hiccup with the cleanliness of the property when we first arrived - it did not appear as though the floor had been swept we found sand everywhere. The cleaning service also did not leave beach towels. A quick email and this was resolved the next day.
We were treated to a high surf warning towards the end of our stay - this lasted 2.5 days with some very impressive waves crashing against the sea wall. If you love storms like we do, this was just an added bonus to our stay.
Since the last time we were here, the property management added LED lighting to the ocean side of the building - unfortunately - this creates so much light, that you can no longer see all the wonderful stars when sitting on the lanai. This was probably done for safety reasons but actually took away from the overall experience.
Even so, we are planning our next trip back here next year as long as costs don't skyrocket.

This place is perfect! The ocean is so close it occasionally splashes up on the lanai! We slept every night with the lanai doors open letting the ocean sing us to sleep. The condo was clean, had everything we needed and the lanai was big and spacious. We spent every morning and evening there watching sea turtles, whales and a Hawaiian monk seal. The sunsets were amazing, as were the rainbows with both Lanai and Molokai in view. We are already making plans to return.

This place had everything you need in a studio. We loved being able to sit out in the patio and watch the sunset and the morning rainbows. It was nice they had chairs and a cooler we could take to the beach. We slept with the patio doors open and can’t believe how loud the waves were at night.

We love this condo and location. The owners are easy to communicate with and we’re very fair in giving us some options because of the COVID stuff going on. Everything you need. The parking spot is a little tricky for me, but my husband is great at backing up. So he always drove when we were headed back to the condo. Turtles everyday right outside the lanai. My favorite phrase to my husband, “ I’m sorry I can’t hear you over the waves”.

This VRBO had the best views of the ocean as soon as you wake up in the morning. We loved having breakfast on the lanai and it being pretty central in Lahaina area. It was great they supplied beach chairs and umbrella. Only downside was that they had to shut off hot water due to a leak which was out of their control on our last full day. Would stay here again

There is truly nothing like waking up to the sound of the ocean and going to bed after watching a beautiful sunset! Small private beach just a few minute walk away however we often drove the 8-10 minutes to other beaches including Lahaina and napilli bay. Condo was nice, good for price point; appliances and features slightly outdated however we spent the majority of our time when at the condo on the wonderful lanai.

My husband and I just returned from a 5 night stay in this beautiful studio condo. It is actually as pictures describe and other reviewers also. We explored in our rental car all over Maui; Road to Hana (definitely take motion sicknesss med if prone) and another day on the southern route. But seriously you could spend your days at this condo and never leave. Spend your evenings too, with groceries because you can grill or cook in. Beautiful sunsets beautiful sunrises, comfortable bed, indoor and outdoor furnishings. Proximity to ocean cannot be better! Trust me when I say this unit is the best for comfort and views of ocean.

This was a fantastic set up. Quiet street, awesome view of the ocean - saw a lot of whales while dining on the lanai at sunset. The only downside, which ended up being significant, is the waves crash against the concrete wall below the condo. It often shakes the whole building and there is no sound barrier in this airy condo. We ended up having to sleep with ear plugs in and run the A/C unit just to try to cover the noise and get a good night's sleep. If not for that, this would have been a 5 star rating for sure. But hard to rate high when you can't sleep.

We just returned from our very first trip to Maui and stayed here for 5 nights. It is conveniently located and the price is very affordable. The view is amazing!!! My favorite time was morning coffee on the lanai where we saw whales and turtles every day :). It is a corner condo on the second floor of a two story unit, very quiet and very private. As advertised, it IS literally 10 feet from the water. The second floor gives you a better view than those on the first floor. When we were at the condo, mainly early morning and late evening, we spent the majority of our time on the lanai so the efficiency of the space was perfect for us. The bed is good. Very nice place and I highly recommend it! Would definitely stay here again.

We spent two weeks in this lovely condo. The view is fabulous! From the lanai, you are only feet away from the ocean. Sea turtles swim directly below the lanai. The condo is on the second floor of a two story building and we found it to be very quiet even though there is a busy street directly behind the building. The sound of the ocean waves totally drowns out any street noise. The assigned parking spot is the best it can be - right beside the stairwell to the condo. It can be a bit tricky getting into or out of the parking spot because of the traffic and it's also located right on a bend in the road. We found it best to back our car into the spot. The condo is well stocked and a great amenity is a washer and dryer right in the unit. Beaches are close by and we were able to go to quite a few beaches within a few miles. We found Joe & Naomi great to deal with and we would definitely visit again. The pictures are exactly how it is!!

Our stay was excellent !! Being right NEXT to the ocean is the best. Breakfast on the lanai is so peaceful and relaxing. Quiet also. The 2nd floor is the top floor so no one above you, and on the end of the building. Nice beaches close by. Would stay here again.

Loved the condo. Very clean and well stocked. Kitchen was great to cook in and the air flow was great so no need for air condtioning. The Lanai was a good size, but be aware that you are so close to the ocean that even though you are on the second floor the waves still hit the balcony, especially at night. The rocks below did allow us to see turtles from time to time, which was a special treat. Our only complaint was the parking, it was very difficult to pull out of the parking spot due to the cement walls being so close together and the blind spot on the road both ways. The owners were very nice to deal with and the bed was very compfy!

Seeing the sea turtles was a highlight for us. We loved how close the beaches were and it was very close to several restaurants and bars. We had a fabulous stay in your condo while visiting West Maui and we would be delighted to return again soon.
The condo is very well equipped and modern so that nothing is left to be desired. Too, it is so well placed, just feet from the Pacific Ocean and super water activities, yet is very accessible to Lahaina's attractions and amenities as well as those of the other coastal areas. It was just perfect!
The highlights of our stay, however, will always be those beautifully quiet, tranquil early morning coffees on the lanai, listening to the gentle lapping of the waves while taking in the gorgeous sunrise reflections off Molokai. So different from the prairie lands of Alberta and the hustle bustle of our city streets.
Thank you for making us feel so welcome through your friendly emails and for sharing your lovely bit of heaven with us. We look forward to a return stay in Condo 213.

Don't let the exterior of this condo complex fool you. While the outside is a bit dated, the inside has been recently renovated and is gorgeous. The photos for the interior are spot on. The kitchen and bathroom are both spacious. The sitting area has new modern furniture and the bed is very comfortable. The in unit laundry, wi-fi and cable TV are also a bonus.
The best part, however, is the view from the lanai. This unit probably has the best view in the entire complex. You are literally about 10 feet from the ocean. The 2nd story location gives you a great view over the wall. You can turtle watch in the afternoons and be lulled to sleep by the waves at night. If we ever get back here during whale season this is where we would stay!
The downsides (and there are always downsides) to this unit are very minor. This unit is on the 2nd floor and I am not sure there is elevator access. Also, there is not a lot of storage for unpacking and storing luggage. However, we were able to make due by putting suitcases in corners and in one of the chairs.
I would definitely stay here again! Great quality for your money.

It was our honeymoon. I wanted 5 star resort but that is expensive in Maui. My bride found this place. This has all the 5 star resorts beat hands down! It is private. Parking is simple and right next to your door. Sunsets are amazing. Waves crash at night while you sleep. Made breakfast and ate on the balcony over looking the ocean. Huge turtles are right outside your view. You can go right down and touch them but dont unless you want to go to prison.. seriously. It is located close to everything. We had the most amazing time in Maui and the relaxation and beauty this condo brought us had a lot to do with it. Skip the over priced resorts and get this condo. If you want to visit a resort they are only a short drive away. This place even has AC. You can walk to a lot of cool eats too! Want a great burger... 5 min walk to Shark Pit. Pizza your thing... 5 min walk to Dollies. Maui Brew co is close too. Not a bad thing to say about this place.

Cannot say enough how perfect the condo was......location and amenities were just perfect to allow us to explore the island, we were visited by turtles daily, saw whales one evening and the waves lulled us to sleep at night. Thanks for sharing your special place.

Loved our stay. Location is wonderful, close to many things but still quiet and relaxing. Loved having the beach towels, coolers, and extra bath towels. Made life easy and enjoyable while we were there. Clean and well stocked condo for any kind of cooking. Best sunsets you could ever imagine. Thanks for sharing your lovely condo with us.

What a fantastic spot to enjoy the whales and turtles and sunsets! Beautiful lanai, well equipped and comfortable condo. The pools were great as well. Definitely a place to return to!

The condo was just fantastic! The location and views were just incredible! Also, very clean and well stocked with everything you might need including beach towels and chairs, coolers, kitchen and bathroom supplies (and plenty of extra clean towels!) etc.
Joe & Naomi were very accommodating and great to work with! Will definitely be recommending this condo to friends and family!

The condo was wonderful. The kitchen is beautiful and functional, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. We loved falling asleep to the waves each night. The lanai was very spacious and we spent a lot of mornings spotting whales on the horizon and watching the turtles below.
I enjoyed all of the personal touches in this condo--beach chairs, towels, coolers, and binoculars to borrow, books to read while at the beach, even spices to use while cooking your food.
Great location, beautiful condo, we hope to visit again soon! Thanks again Joe & Naomi!

This is a very cozy spot right on the water. From the lanai, Sunsets every night, watching turtles every afternoon and breakfast every morning. Beaches are within walking distance, world class snorkeling beaches a short drive away. This location is best with shops/restrarants within walking distance.

You guys have done an amazing job remodeling this fantastic place! We've stayed here before (knew the previous owners) and loved it then because of the unbelievable location. But when we saw what you've done with the place ... WOW! Kudos! It's absolutely gorgeous and I truly don't know if you could have done any better! :) All of the small details are fabulous as well. Nice to have it so fully stocked with high-end furnishings, linens, dishes, etc. We were very impressed. You made a phenomenal place on Maui even better! Thanks so much! It's always been our very favorite spot on Maui and we owned a unit in that building for several years as well. Maui no ka oi. (Maui is the best.) Your unit: no ka oi. :)

What a pleasant surprise! We needed a place to stay for 3 nights while we were waiting to check into our primary Maui destination. This place was affordable and on the water and it exceeded our expectations! Joe and Naomi are outstanding owners and have really made this studio a nice home away from home. The furnishings and decor were very comfortable, the kitchen had all the right utensils, dishes, and appliances, and if you like the sound of the surf and a spectacular view of the ocean, this place has it. We had some minor problems with the sliding doors, we shared this with Joe and Naomi and they were already considering a fix. Also the sea wall was under construction while we were there so we didn't have use of the bar-b-q area. That didn't interfere with our second floor view and shouldn't be a problem for anyone else as they were nearing completion. Also expect a bit of road noise since the condo is close to the road. We saw turtles right below our lani every day and whales in the distance. There is a great beach about a half block north. The trail is a bit hard to see if your driving, but just walk up the road and you'll find it. The condo provided beach chairs, coolers, and beach towels. We snorkeled from Honolua Bay to Makena and found turtles everywhere. Our favorite places to dine included our condo, my wife is an awesome cook so with regular stops at the Farmer's Market for fresh fruits and veggies and Foodland Farms for Poke and beer we enjoyed the best of the island. We also enjoyed Pupus at the Seahouse, Pad Thai at Star Noodle, and to get the most for our money the pulled pork at Beach Bums at Maalaea. Also don't miss the Slack Key Show, lots of fun and gave us a real appreciation for Hawaiian guitar.

This condo is in a great central location of Maui. It's clean, it's modern, and the bed is very comfortable. Pride of ownership comes to mind when you look around at the updated interior. All the furniture pieces are nice, the kitchen is completely stocked with good quality dishes & cookware. The view cannot be beat. The owners were extremely helpful and responsive. In fact, I emailed them because I had a question and I received a response within minutes! I highly recommend this condo for anyone who wants a nice place to stay and a reasonable price.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Pohailani in Lahaina for 7 nights and the property was just wonderful (exactly as described in the posting). The unit has all the necessities that you need and was very clean. It is in a great location in northwest Maui, close to beaches, rental shops, restaurants and grocery stores. We travelled the entire island and this is the area I would have chosen to stay. We cooked our breakfast in the unit almost every day and ate it out on the lanai, which is less than 10 feet from the ocean. We saw sea turtles most mornings, crabs, and people surfing and paddle boarding. Hearing the waves crash all night is very soothing. There are a few boogie boards to use in the unit (but some are broken). I would just rent snorkel gear and boogie boards for the week (very cheap from rental shops). Only small warning I have is watch your toes and shins on the bed frame, it sticks out past the mattress OUCH!!! Overall an amazing stay, I will book the same property for my next visit to Maui.

We loved sitting on the lanai in the morning eating our breakfast watching the turtles swim just feet away from us, and watching the beautiful Maui sunsets at night.
The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we could need, and it was the perfect home base location for our trip to Maui!
We will definitely be staying here in this condo again on our next Maui Vacation!

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Poihailani. The condo was outfitted with everything we needed and was very clean and comfortable. The setting was absolutely fantastic with gorgeous sunsets and turtles feasting right below us. We had never stayed in West Maui before and very much appreciated the close proximity to great beaches, snorkeling, hiking, and restaurants. We will be back!
