We cannot say enough great things about our stay at the Whaler. Our unit had everything you could possibly need during our stay. The unit was beautiful, clean, nicely renovated and upgraded. The kitchen has everything you could need for prepping a meal or entertaining guests. The pool, spa, and Bar-B-Q areas are clean and well taken care of. We look forward to our next return trip after the new year. Thank you for the love and care, and allowing us to share your home.

I am giving this rating of 2 only because we were very unhappy with the owner’s responses to an issue we had.
First of all, though, I must say the condo is beautifully remodeled and the location is great. It is on the 4 the floor and has a great view of the ocean due to being on the beach end of the building. The beach is just a minute walk.
The problem was that there was maintenance and painting scheduled for the building and there was no mention of it before we booked. Our first day there we were out all day and when we returned the balcony had been covered in plastic, which blocked the view. When I asked the supervisor on the job he said he couldn’t remove it. He promised it would be removed by the next day as the work would not take long. No work was done the whole week and we left with the view still blocked. When I informed the owner she replied that she had told us there would be painting outside the building and she had given us the option to cancel before we came. Problem was she hadn’t. We were only told about the possibility of work on her unit after we had booked but no offer of cancellation without losing 50% of the full amount for the week. I even sent her copies of the emails we had received and her reply was to blame the fires and that she had no control over any work being done.
It’s a great condo but if anything goes wrong don’t expect the owner to take responsibility.

We were thrilled to stay at this property and unit. It was beautifully remodeled with new kitchen appliances, spotless and with a gorgeous ocean view to enjoy on the Lanai! This Whaler’s condo is close to Black Rock for snorkeling, easy access to water excursions and right next to Whaler’s Village. The concierge was very helpful. We stayed in late June at this wonderful 1 bed 2 bath. The place was clean and well stocked with the essentials and then some. When we weren't out and about, we loved sitting on the lanai and watching the ocean.
Everything was great with exception to the fridge not working. It seems a new fridge was put in just before we arrived, and it wasn't cold our entire stay, so we couldn't save leftovers. The owner reached out to my initial message, but didn't follow-up after I sent another message that it still wasn't working after 24hrs. Hopefully, it's working for whoever is there now. Other than that, this place was perfect.

Location is great steps from the kanaapali beach. Unit is fully remodeled so it's nice and fresh. Only suggestion would be the change the mattress on the pull out couch since it's old , you can feel the springs and very uncomfortable. everything else is great. Host is very responsive and communicates very well.

We had a wonderful time on Maui and Tripter's unit was the perfect home base. The Whaler is right on the beach and we had a beautiful view. Whalers Village is 2 minutes away, with plenty of places to eat and shop. It's only a 10 minute drive into Lahina, a great little town. All in all, we throughly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back to the Whaler.

Property and venue were excellent. Check-in was fine and property was very clean and well maintained. Condo certainly met our needs and owners should be proud. Area in general was a bit more crowded than imagined, but could have been the time of year.

Wonderful week at the Whaler. Condo is well furnished and has beautiful ocean view. Our 18 yo said pullout bed comfortable too. Stocked with lots of water toys and snorkel gear. Highly recommend.

Our one week stay here at The Whaler 457 was absolutely amazing!! The ocean view from the lanai is to die for, and the pictures just don’t do it Justice!!! There’s a very comfy chaise lounge on the lanai that we loved and used daily!!! Whaler’s Village is s right next door which is so convenient ! Highly recommend Leilani’s on the beach, Huihui, and The hula Grill! Tip: make reservations we’ll in advance!! Also, Ono Gelato! Delicious! For casual dining the Maui Poke and Joey’s kitchen were fabulous! Joey’s kitchen gives huge portions so beware!😃! It’s all right next door which makes staying at The Whaler like a resort!! Having to walk Just steps to the beautiful Ka’anapali beach was incredible!! We swam in the ocean every day and snorkeled! We saw two sea turtles while snorkeling which was amazing!! The condo has everything you could ever want for a perfect beach day, including our favorite, Tommy Bahama beach chairs…4 of them!! The condo is super clean and very comfy! The kitchen has everything you need and is very organized! There’s a table and chairs on the huge lanai which is where we ate breakfast every morning!! The stay at this condo went beyond our expectations and we will certainly be back!!💕🌺🌴🌼💕🌺🌼

This property had everything you would need. It is quiet and comfortable. It has a wonderful view of the ocean and you can hear the peaceful sound of the waves from your balcony. The kitchen is well stocked with most items you would need to cook with. We had no issues with getting hot water as some people do in this condominium. Plumbing was also not an issue. The TV in the Living room is very difficult to figure out but we finally got it on our last day. :) The bed was fairly comfortable. I even slept on the pull out bed from the couch and it was comfy too. Washer and dryer in the unit works. There is a closet full of snorkel gear, beach chairs, pool noodles, books, umbrella, coolers, etc. There are also free beach chairs available down by the beach. You can rent umbrellas, although they are worthless after 11 or 12 pm due to the daily winds. Pool/beach towels are also available from The Whaler.
Overall, a great stay. I would recommend this place if you are looking for an affordable and comfortable condo with everything you need.

Great 1 bedroom, 2 bath condo. Was nice that many of the cooking supplies like cooking oil, sugar, salt and pepper and coffee were already there. Nice grills just outside the condo. Stopped at Walmart on the way in from the airport so we were able to do a lot of our meals in the condo. The beach is just steps away from the condo as well as a nice pool. The unit had many extras like beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers and boogie boards. Would definitely rent again if we were in the area.

Our vacation started off on the wrong foot. Unit was not cleaned when we arrived and we did not have access to our unit until 7 pm. The dishwasher leaks and is missing rollers on the bottom rack, the washer is hooked up incorrectly so the hot water is the cold and vice versa. The cleaning could be more detailed so hairs and other debris from previous guests are totally removed. The unit also needs to be updated. Drawers are off tracks and disorganized. The king bed is also hard and uncomfortable. The highlight of this room is the location and the entry closet with all the beach equipment.

It was our 5th stay at your lovely condo. When we come to Maui we always stay here. The condo is always clean and well appointed. The location is just a few steps away from the beach, activities, and shopping. We always look forward to staying here.

Wonderful condo in perfect location. No restaurant or bar onsite but 5 within 100 feet! Large outside deck with unbelievable views, quite and peaceful. 1 hr from airport, parking underneath and grocery store within 5 miles(ABC store right next door as well). Airport beach (Kahekili) 2 miles away for excellent snorkeling and Black Rock excellent snorkeling 5 min walk away. Planning our next trip already!

It was an amazing and beautiful place to stay! Every morning our little ones would run out and watch the waves and sun rise on the balcony. It was incredibly clean and had everything we need. I would to stay here again!

Fantastically priced unit at the Whaler. Great communication with the owner/property manager. If you want a comfortable bed in the best complex on Kaanapali, this is the unit for you. There were beach chairs, boogie boards and a nice cooler to use. If you are used to the Ritz, this probably isn't for you, but you should be able to figure that out when seeing the price relative to other units. Nice view from the lanai. People have mentioned issues with the hot water. We've stayed at the Whaler a bunch and have never experienced it. We did this time. It's not unique to this unit. It must only happen when the Whaler is near full-capacity. It was worse in the late afternoon/early evening when most people were using the hot water. We were appreciative of the desk. It sounds silly but many units don't have a desk. It was helpful for work. Plenty of dresser space, too.
