If you desire to have an earthly glimpse of the Garden of Eden(minus the snake) and shake off your stress and reconnect with your beloved then this is your place. You will be amazed at the detail and wonderment of nature. To feel five again and enjoy playing in the light mid day 5 minute rain and also enjoy the pounding of rain on the tin roof in the middle of the night with all of your windows open and fans on.

Tips:
Shelly isn’t kidding about making it initially WHILE DAYLIGHT. Make that happen.
Go to Hana Farms and get the White Lotus pizza and several pints of Coconut Glen’s vegan ice cream- any flavor will do but the Immunity Blast is ahmazing- this way you will have some leftovers and ice cream for anytime. Yes you can grill on property…just be prepared for nothing to be open or everything to be open in town. Do all the things or do no things. Either way you will have an unforgettable experience.
If you or your partner are the people that HAVE to have an air conditioner then do not rent this place. Staying here was a game changer for us. Being able to emotionally reconnect and shut all the “stuff” out was just what we needed. Thank you for providing the PERFECT GETAWAY. And the geckos were so polite- a real delight😉

Run don't walk to book this home. We thoroughly enjoyed the property. It is beautiful and the pictures do not do it justice. The sound of the rain on the tin roof, the cracking of the bamboo are so relaxing and peaceful. We stayed a week and could have stayed longer. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We had a lovely stay at the bungalow! The garden, furnishings, and view were amazing. We read about gecko visitors and were not disappointed! Lots of little buddies. We slept with the doors and windows open every night and I loved the soaking tub after a day hiking/swimming. It was quiet and private without feeling remote. The outdoor shower was also amazing at helping us keep sand out of the bungalow. We can’t wait to come back! Mahalo for the memories!

We had a surreal experience in the beautiful Bungalow. It's situated in the a great location filled with wildlife and rainforest. This property is far away enough to be secluded but close enough to everything. Our favorite beach (Hamoa) was actually the closest one to the property! When talking to people about Hana, we were told that there wasn't going to be many food options so bring your food with you. Well, they were completely wrong. There's about 10 great food trucks and restaurants within 10 min of the property. The prices were the same as around the airport which surprised us. If you want a unique Maui experience, do yourself a favor and book this amazing one of a kind property.

This spot outside Hana was perfection after spending a week in Kihei and even after a spectacular spot in upcountry. No roosters. Only peaceful island birds and crashing waves. The private outdoor shower was incredible. We explored the National Park a couple times, ate delicious pizza and salad at Hana Farm a couple times, tasted some Huli Huli chicken, and went into town for beer runs, but otherwise, we spent a solid 4 days reading and relaxing on the screened lanai. Also, it was as if the New Years fireworks were planned for us to have a perfect view!

Nice studio near National Park entrance. Great retreat for a couple or single traveler. We liked it. This is an ADU next to the main house, so it’s not private, but it is secluded.

My husband and I went here for our honeymoon and it was perfect! The property feels so tropical and secluded even though you’re a short drive from town. The property itself was clean and we didn’t have any issues finding it. I highly recommend this for anyone that wants a nice relaxing stay!

This was our second stay at the bungalow, and it's nice to know some things in this world don't change much. The location near Hana is just perfect - far enough from town for real privacy, but close enough to dash in for supplies. The kitchen is well-equipped and stocked, everything is clean, and there are even beach toys (snorkel gear, chairs) for your use at the very nearby Hamoa beach. The bungalow is essentially a deck perched up high enough to see the beach nearby. It's clear that this is a place that is well cared for. Listen to the wind and the waves as you fall asleep. Perfect place for a romantic getaway.
Note that there are small geckos around and about (some very colorful) that won't bother you at all (really!) - that comes with being in such a beautiful place practically in the jungle. Shelly is wonderful to work with. We can't wait to come back!

Shelly's Bungalow is an amazing destination. Set in a lush rainforest setting with ample privacy from the single neighboring house. The bungalow is smartly appointed and VERY comfortable for a couple.
The outdoor areas complete with hot and cold running outdoor shower are simply amazing. So much lush greenery surrounds you that you feel truly at one with the rainforest.
Inside the bungalow the king sized bed is amazingly comfortable and the sitting lanai (fully screened) has amazingly comfortable furniture as well as a 2 person soaking bathtub with shower! The well appointed kitchen makes whipping up a simple to extravagant meal a breeze. An outdoor BBQ grill just off the open air (under house) living room very convenient.
This is an amazing "End of the Road To Hana" destination and we will absolutely be back for multiple nights.
Shelly was gracious, friendly and beyond professional in her communication and helped us truly enjoy our Road To Hana Adventure!

This place was so great that when we left to stay at another place we were not happy at the new place and kept talking about this place. Wish we would have stayed here for our whole trip. The outdoor shower was so great and Shelly/Robert were great as well. We will be back!!!!

We absolutely loved this property, a quiet tropical paradise with all the amenities and great views. It was an easy walk to the Venus Pool and Hamoa Beach, a short drive to other area attractions. We’d stay again in a heartbeat.

This place is a gem. I literally felt like I was on Fantasy Island! The property is tucked off the road in a beautiful setting. Everything about it about screams unique and serene. Looking out the windows you see lush tropical foliage, complete with bamboo trees. The lanai is to die for because it is so peaceful. You have an ocean view but can hear birds, frogs, and even cows. The location is also great to get to multiple beaches. Go here to unplug and soak up the natural beauty of the surroundings. Don’t be surprised to see a gecko or two joining you on the lanai. We had a wonderful stay.

We loved the property and and Bungalow. So tropical and really feeling we were in the jungle. So beautiful hearing the gentle rain, warm breeze and tropical sounds and sweet fragrant smells. The king size bed was very comfortable. We loved the enclosed screened porch to sit and watch the geckos and to listen to them chirp. Days by lounging in the morning, going out to all the food trucks for lunch. Go early! We would come back and go to Koki Beach for a few hours. Come back to our bungalow and BBQ. Fish was hard to find but the Hasegawa General Store has most needs and very friendly people. Hana beef was very good. Make sure you try the Shaka Pops! A very relaxing 6 nights and we will return. Thank you Shelly for all your help and quick communications.

If you are looking for a true Hawaiian experience this bungalow is for you. An open air bedroom opens to a large screened in porch with seating and tub. The view from the porch and bed of the blue Pacific ocean between the trees is fabulous. At night all you here is the birds, frogs and the cows in the field across the Hana highway. The night display of the stars with no light around is excellent on clear nights. The outside shower is like the one at our house but being in Hawaii gives you a different experience especially at night under the stars. The beach is a 5 minute drive around corner with plenty of parking mostly local folks and families from that side of Island. There is a great little wave on that beach in winter months. Not many tourist just one resort in Hana. The National Park is 9 miles from bungalow and you can get there before most tourist arrive from other parts of island. Great place to enjoy Hawaii, almost the last refugee from hotels and tourist. It is like the north shore of Oahu in the 1980,s when we came just to surf.
You want drinks served to you on the beach this is not for you. This is a place to relax and enjoy Hawaii the way it used to be. We absolutely loved our stay thank you.

Photos and description are spot on. Beautiful getaway for two! Communication prior to our stay was superb. We knew exactly how to get to and into the property. Property was immaculate. While there are three beaches nearby, the closest, Hamoa Beach, was by far the best. Some Google reviews were tepid about Hamoa Beach, I truly cannot say why. Best sand, surf, and fewest people. Just a 10 minute walk from the property, follow the directions given by the owner. If we return to Hana, we will definitely stay here again!

I’ve stay at a lot of rentals across the world and this was definitely one of my absolute favorites. Secluded, clean, romantic; a true Hawaii jungle experience. We enjoyed the jacuzzi on the balcony, the outdoor shower, the tiny little details of the immersive grounds. It’s quite a drive to get to but totally worth it if you’re staying in Hana for a few nights. Couldn’t be happier with our choice.
