Wendy was fantastic to work with! From beginning to end she was readily available to assist with questions. I gave 4 stars for the check in process only because the lock box and key were difficult for me to use. The property was exactly as described on the water with a pool view. Wendy had beach chairs, mats, umbrellas etc. to use at the beach which was fantastic!! My daughter paddle boarded and we saw many turtles during our stay.
The property itself was also very clean and the pool and laundry facilities immaculate. The property should post the laundry room sign because it’s on the second floor and took me awhile to find it without any signage. We are very familiar with this section of Maui and feel safe walking around. It is not fancy but still easy access to restaurants and stores.
It was a wonderful vacation to celebrate my daughters graduation and we will definitely be back!!

Always stay in Kihei, so was nice to check out another part of Maui. Great location with ocean view a couple of steps off the lanai. The pool was usually quiet and very refreshing. No air conditioning but with fans we were never uncomfortable. Bedroom had partitions you could slide across so felt less like a studio. Loved hanging out on the lanai overlooking the pool. You cannot access the pool from your lanai so no one ever walks by, giving you more privacy. Kitchen is very small if you’re looking to do most of your meals at the condo but did have pots/pans & utensils, no spices. Beautiful sunsets from the communal patio. Recommend seeing the Nakalele Blowhole, beautiful seascape on that drive. Really enjoyed our stay on this part of Maui.

Wendy was very nice and always responsive. The unit is a cross between a one bedroom and studio with sliding doors on the bedroom, about 500-600 sf. Bed was comfortable, adequate closet space, and a full kitchen (without dishwasher). View is of pool not directly to ocean. Unit was clean and tidy. No sugar, coffee, etc. as all food items must be thrown out to protect against bugs (we didn't see any!). Lots to do in the area and VERY quiet at night. No A/C but lots of louvers to allow breeze through the unit.

This was our third stay in the Hale Ono Loa and the second stay in this ground floor unit. It's perfect for us and our needs, close to amenities in Honokowai, and just steps from the ocean. There's also another tenant in the building that blew the conch for each nightly sunset, to rounds of applause :D

Wendy apartment was as described on VRBO. Big enough for 2 people, fully equipped ( kitchen tools, beach gears etc). No AC ( 2 fans were enough). The only pity is no sea view from the patio. Highly recommended.

My boyfriend and I had an amazing time in Maui and this condo was great! Our favorite was utilizing the beach view/ private beach that is offered if you walk a bit past the pool and down the steps. This beach was turtle infested, so if you’re wanting to see and/or swim with turtles, this is your place! The location of the property was perfect. I wouldn’t say you could walk to everything but if you have a car every great beach, bay, market, and restaurant is just a short drive away. The only downside to the condo is that there is no A/C (which is specified in the details about the condo). Luckily, Wendy’s place had a few ceiling fans and two large fans. The fans were a bit old, but still did their job. My boyfriend and I thought about getting our own fans from the store but when you go on vacation in a place like Maui, how often are you really in your room? Overall, I would highly recommend this property!! My boyfriend and I would stay here again. Thank you, Wendy!! :)

My wife and I recently visited Maui for the first time and stayed here. Hale Ono Loa is an excellent apartment complex: the pool is refreshing, the views of the ocean are absolutely stunning, the location was close to beautiful beaches. We enjoyed swimming in the ocean by the apartment. Our stay in this property was fine, but there were some things that needed maintenance. The kitchen sink was very smelly, the bathtub was stained (although the owner had planned fixing the tub), and there weren't any ant traps in the kitchen. This place is a good option, and if these few problems were addressed, it would be excellent!

My partner and I had an amazing time at Wendy's condo. Although it's not really within walking distance of downtown Lahaina there's still Badass Coffee and Boss Frog snorkel rental very close by. Bed is pretty comfortable but the condo did get a little warm even with the fans running. We got to see a few turtles swimming along the shore just over the railing. Overall we'd be thrilled to stay here again!

It comes with all the basics you need for your stay - kitchen, towels, etc. It is in a good area that felt safe and had shopping and restaurants a short drive away. We utilized the pool a lot as there isn't a sandy beach out front of the building but there is one close by at Honokowai Beach Park.

I was a little concerned when I heard there might be bugs if I wasn't clean so we were clean and did not see any bugs. no dish washer and no AC and a small kitchen but that was pretty clear on the listing. On the plus side the grounds were very nice and a great selection of beach equipment and the sea turtles by the sure line was excellent. All in All we enjoyed our stay.

Had a wonderful stay! Love the location…easy to walk to lots of places. Watched turtles, whales and sunsets from the sun deck. The condo had lots of extras included such as beach chairs, umbrellas, and mats. Travelled with friends who had a unit in the other building which was ground floor as well…we thought we would be able to go back and forth across the courtyard, however, there is no access to the pool from the lanai side due to a concrete ledge. That was probably the only thing that we were somewhat disappointed about…it wasn’t that big of a deal, but because we were sharing meals, it just made it a little tougher. Wendy was easy to get ahold of if we needed anything. Would definitely recommend!!

Great for a couple of people and wonderful if you're planning on activities on NW Maui. About a mile to walk to grocery and restaurants, so possible to go without a car. There was a great deal of construction noise while we were there, but that can't be helped sometimes.

We truly enjoyed staying at this condo. The bed was super comfortable, it had everything we needed. Much better than staying at a hotel because they provided beach chairs, umbrellas, towels and the condo had a kitchen were we made breakfast every day.

It is a nice cozy condo, right next to the swimming pool and few feet away from the sea, we got see the sunset which it was beautiful, the condo has all amenities, 2 coffee machines, but there's no coffee lol, if you want a cup of coffee in the morning you need to go buy it down the street. Everything else was just what we needed for our stay, thank you.

Overall the place was good, the location being the best part. Parking was very easy. Wendy the host was responsive and helpful. The place itself was ok, it was a little older and slightly out dated. To be fair a lot of the buildings in the area are the same. The biggest suggestion I have is to replace the cookware. Having a kitchen is great but having to use VERY scratched/ beat up nonstick pans isn’t. Overall for the price expecting perfection isn’t realistic. Therefore I do recommend staying at Wendy’s place we did enjoy it.

What a wonderful experience! Our experience was consistent with everyone else’s reviews, which was that it was everything and more. Wendy was so easy to work with and communicate to prior and after our visit. She had everything you needed at her place. Being right next to the pool and so close to the sound of the waves made this such a dreamy location! The only thing to consider is that if you’re eating in Wailea, this can be quite a distance to drive. However it’s perfect for playing an Kaanapali and Lahaina! Thanks again for an amazing stay Wendy!!

Cozy condo in a great location. Pretty close to anything we needed from Bad Ass Coffee, Adobo Fried Rice from Joey's Kitchen, lowly populated beaches, and grocery stores. The place already had snorkel gear, beach chairs, and umbrellas which we could use (icing on the top).

We stayed for a week at this lovely one bedroom property. It has a great pool and good access to the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed the property it is clean and very quiet, we enjoyed meeting some other guests and residents. If you are looking for a very laid back quiet vacation this is definitely a great place to start. Uber was very easy to get during our stay and it is close walking distance to several shops and grocery outlets.

Cleanliness: Our only qualm was that the shower consistently drained slowly. Despite washing off sand beforehand, we spent our showers standing in at least a small pool of water.
Check-in process: Wendi (property manager) was quick to respond to emails leading up to the trip. I docked this category because we didn't receive our check-in instructions until two days before the trip, rather than the week she stated, and only after I emailed her about it. Not a big deal, but notable in light of our check-out problems.
Accuracy of online listing: All good here.
Communication with manager: A few months prior to our trip, we confirmed with Wendi via email that we could check out at 3 p.m. instead of the normal 11 a.m. time. On the basis of this, we scheduled a red-eye flight the day of check-out, basically adding another full day. The day before leaving the condo, I emailed Wendi to confirm the check-out time, as we had morning plans and didn't want anyone showing up out of the blue while we were gone. Wendi replied a few hours later that she had accidentally neglected to calendar the late check-out and needed us out by 11, as new renters were coming that afternoon. After more discussion, she agreed on noon. While not intentional, her actions added unnecessary cost and frustration to the end of our trip. If I hadn't been proactive about the check-out time, the cleaning crew would have shown up while we were gone and all of our stuff was still inside. I recommend communicating with Wendi more frequently than you might otherwise, to make sure everything is as confirmed in writing.
Location and neighborhood: Excellent, especially if you want to stick to the north side of the island.
Overall rating: I would have left a five-star review if not for the communication issues. The property itself was great.

Great location if you are looking for away from hectic city traffic - life. Quite-cozy. Check in as well as booking and post booking communication with owner Debie kept us well informed.
This is not your 'luxerary' but it will offer everything one needs to get away from hectic life. Unite is well furnished with everything you need or you can use. Outdoor pool, BBQ, and seating are with ocean view are just right. Must see sunset from Deck. Not so much of beach but water is clear if you want go in ocean...just careful with wave as they can get strong.
Neighborhood looks like average and not so charming. Grocery store and other market places are about 3-4 mile from units and can get there via local bus, bike, or car....
Front Street where all tourist shopping and restaurants are is about 5 miles away......
Overall, great place for price we paid.

The property is small, quiet, and a peaceful place compared to other places we've stayed or been to on the island. It is an older complex, gardens are simple, nice, well cared for. The pool was clean and beautifully kept up.
The apartment is tastefully decorated, also simple, with basic amenities. Lovely little lanai with comfy chairs and table that looks out on gardens and the pool. One of our favorite spots to hang out was a sea wall about a 30 second walk from the apartment where you can watch sea turtles, fish and crabs from above. The view of Molakai with sunsets and sunrises from the sea wall was stunning.
The kitchen has all that is basically needed for cooking and serving, the bed is wonderful, furniture comfortable and like new. You can get great air flow through the apartment that off sets not having air conditioning.
The area this condo is in is one of our favorite areas of the island as well. Does not have the ostentatious "resort" feel to it. The farmer's market is close by, it is close enough to the hub-bub of Lahaina if you want it, but equally close to the quieter reaches of the island that lay to the north.
The communications with the owner were stellar, they are great folks to work with. Should we ever return to Maui, we would want to stay in this sweet little place again.

You won't be disappointed in choosing this condo. It's exactly as listed! Since we were traveling with two kids we were extremely happy to have access to all the beach toys, chairs, and boogie boards this condo provides. We also loved watching the turtles from the viewing area this property provides. Wendy the owner of this condo is extremely easy to work with, and responds quickly to any questions. Our family would absolutely stay here again!!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Wendy's condo. It is very clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and the ceiling fan above the bed kept us very cool. The proximity of her condo to the ocean made it especially nice, we would go to sleep and wake up to the waves pounding on the rocks, very relaxing. The BBQ's by the pool made it nice to have meals in instead of spending money on going out to dinner. The condo complex is very well maintained and clean. It is also very centrally located to the local market, shopping, renting mopeds, food trucks and much more. Honokowai Beach Park is within a 10 min walk from the condo. It is a great little beach for little ones, picnicking, or watching the sunset. My daughters family was staying at a complex close to us however our grandsons enjoyed staying with us over their condo while we there. Being an Airbnb host I have a critical eye to detail, accommodations and amenities, as I am a 5 star host. Wendy's condo met all my expectations and more. The only suggestion I would make is there is a need for small plastic glasses/tumblers. There were only 4 glasses and I broke one while washing dishes. However there are some large plastic wine glasses and regular glasses. Not a big deal. We did have a slight problem with the front door not closing because of the rain and humidity. Her handyman showed up very quickly and fixed the problem. Which was greatly appreciated. Her condo is stylishly decorated. I highly recommend Wendy's and hope we can return.
