My family and I loved our stay here. It was in a perfect location with a beautiful ocean view. Our apartment was clean and had everything we needed, if not more (swim gear, beach chair, umbrella, towels). Definitely recommend this place.

I used to live in kihei and due to Covid was unable to visit for a few years so I stayed in this condo for three weeks. This condo is great for a solo traveler or a couple, wouldn’t recommend if you have more people with you. The things in the condo were very basic but the view was gorgeous and the location you can’t top. I didn’t want to rent a car while I was there and I was a short walk from anything I needed. I walked to the store, restaurants, bars and the beach. I had a problem with the keypad at one point and was locked out and when I reached out I had an immediate response and they came and fixed it right away. There wasn’t a lot in the condo. For example, no counter spray to clean the kitchen between uses. The bedroom isn’t against the busy street so I was able to sleep in comfortably everyday. The AC is only in the living room so I imagine it wouldn’t be as comfortable to sleep if you go during the summer. I was visiting in December so I didn’t have a problem. I will definitely book this condo for future visits.

My stay in Kihei was fantastic. The location is the best part - walking distance to excellent beaches (Kam III was my favorite), a park, a few decent restaurants (Paia Fish Market is a little pricey but worth it for the quality and poke at Foodland is a must), and easy access to the entire rest of the island (by car). The unit was clean and had all the essentials with decent furniture throughout. It has a lovely view of the ocean, trees, and the park (including the beach volleyball courts) and I enjoyed having breakfast out on the lanai. You can even see the surfers out on the water in the morning. Getting to the building is easy and accessible from multiple directions, and the parking is good (plenty of spots in the open lot).
Two very minor criticisms: It does have AC (a must) but it's in the living room on the opposite side of the unit from the bedroom, which got pretty warm (even with the ceiling fan). The pool was fine, although it's on the busy street so you get the car noise and there's no view because it is screened off.
Overall, I would absolutely recommend this unit!

Smelled horrible when we checked in but we aired it out all week and by the time we left it was awesome. I understand the “starter kit” but toilet paper should always be available. I plan on coming back.

Located right on South Kihei Rd. Great ocean view from 4th floor lanai. Information for checking in and out was clear and easy to follow. Only issue was a fine layer of silt on everything. I assume it had not been cleaned since the fire in the area so there was the silt on everything.

We Found this location to be ideal as it afforded on site parking and it is very close to nice restaurants and good food and drug stores. You could stay here without a vehicle but public transit is poor. There was a bicycle shop on the ground floor that offers rentals. Our unit had enough beach amenities for the two of us like towels and beach chairs. There is a very nice pool and sitting area with a few chaise-lounge chairs and two good BBQ's although we did not use them.We brought to attention of our liaison two very minor items that we felt needed routine maintenance and we were pleased with quick the response. We truly recommend using Hawaii Life Real Estate Brokers after our first experience.

This is our second time staying at Island Surf 402. It has a great view of the ocean and park. Loved sitting out on the balcony every morning with our coffee and enjoyed the great view. We made sure to have dinner on the balcony every evening to watch the whales and the beautiful sunset.Lara our Concierge was great. She was there to help out with our needs and she also stopped by on Valentine’s Day to give us a little gift, which was very sweet of her.Thank you Lara and Hawaii Life

Any review I would make of this property will be jaded by the assumptions I made based on the photo that accompanied this listing.
I wanted to believe based on the photo that I would be trading in the quiet neighborhood I live in for the sound of the surf and sea. I found that I had traded my quiet space for the sound of traffic.
In my original view of the listing I only saw palm trees and ocean. Now I look at the listing and I see streets and crosswalks.

Wonderful location but the condo itself needs work. While we were there these items were replaced or worked on. We got a new sleeper sofa because the original was in very bad shape. We complained about the air conditioning because it was throwing water all over the lanai. It was worked on twice and finally replaced but it still leaks water on the lanai. The sliding glass door to the lanai wouldn’t lock. It was worked on but after the first time after the repair it wouldn’t lock unless you slammed it shut then it locked on its own and was very hard to unlock. We were leaving so we gave up on complaining. The ironing board and coffee maker were both broken when we got there but were replaced as soon as we notified the property manager. The curtains to the lanai are in very bad shape. The lining are ripped to shreds. The microwave, washer & dryer all sound like they are ready to fall apart. We have stayed in other units in this complex and have no complaints. This is the second time we have stayed in this unit but will not stay in it again. Actually we may not be welcome because we complained but our complaints were always addressed quickly and the property manager was always professional. As I said in the beginning the location is wonderful. There’s a beautiful ocean view and we were able to enjoy the sunset from the lanai. Restaurants and shopping are all in walking distance. There is an open air market and a very good taco truck in walking distance. I would recommend this condo but not this unit until some updates are done

It was a great location. In the heart of Kihei. So many great beaches and restaurants within a few miles. Only complain is the outdated appliances. The wifi was not great. Wouldn’t plan on doing any work on that internet.

We stayed 22 nights in March/2017. The condo had those little extras that you don't expect to get....hand, laundry, dish soaps. Patti (condo manager) even supplied us with a few bottles of washer & some snacks!! This condo met all our needs. For the price it can't be beat. The view were wonderful,and the sunsets between the palm trees were amazing. The only downside was the road noise. If you want peace & quiet...this might not be the place for you. My husband & I are people watchers, so this was ideal for us. We were very impressed with Brian (building manager)and his crew keeping the building well maintained. Grocery store only a block away. This is a nice location on Maui...easy to get anyplace on the island. Patti (Vacation Manager for Island Oasis Realty) was very helpful & friendly...and likes Wisconsin cheese!

We were a bit uncertain after reading a negative review, but went ahead since it was only 1 of many reviews, and after speaking to Patti with Island Oasis Realty. Overall we were very happy with our stay. The unit was very clean and well equipped when we arrived. Patti had left some snacks and water for us which was really appreciated since everything was shut when we arrived. It was great to have the use of extras like coolers, beach towels, beach umbrellas, flippers etc. They even have some island guidebooks you can use. I think they even had boogie boards though we didn't try them out. The kitchen was fully stocked and we appreciated the laundry machines complete with laundry detergent. There was a TV in the unit but we never turned it on. The building has a heated pool - it's very clean but not in a nature setting. The condo is right across from cove park in Kihei and right on the main road. There is a nice view but there is noise from the main road with the door open. We weren't bothered by this but if you like to sit on the Lanai and want only the sounds of crashing waves then this might not be the rental for you. It's a short walking distance to food trucks, restaurants, and a supermarket. Try the South Maui Fish Company food truck a block away - great poke and fish tacos! One of the great things about this rental for us was that the living room was a good size. We traveled with our twins who were just starting to crawl and there was lots of room for them to roam compared to other rentals we've had. Overall this was a good rental for us and great value. It's not super luxurious but it is clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced with good amenities.

Our group of 4 friends booked this apartment for a 3 night stay in Kihei. We absolutely loved staying here - the unit was clean and well-equipped with everything you could need, and then some. We appreciated having extra beach towels and boogie boards available in the closet, as well as laundry facilities (with detergent provided). The location is excellent - located near Foodland, great restaurants, snorkelling rentals, etc - all within walking distance if you don't want to take your car. Beaches are also close by. Patti was great in helping us book this vacation rental. She was very professional and everything went smoothly. She was also very responsive to any inquiries we had while we were in Kihei. We would be happy to book with Island Oasis Realty again in our future visits to Hawaii!

The Island Surf location is wonderful and the view from our lanai was spectacular, watching the sun rise and set daily. The down side is the road noise is so loud you can't sit on the lanai and enjoy the view. Noise from the park opposite was very loud as well. It was impossible to sleep with the sliding door even open a crack because of the noise and the condo became very hot at night. As a party of three, we slept on the sofa bed, which was comfortable, but again noise all night caused a problem. The cleanliness of the condo left a lot to be desired. Our daughter was sick during our visit, as such I purchased anti bacterial wipes to wipe down the surfaces, the first time I used the wipes they were black after wiping. The bathroom could not have been cleaned in a long time, the bath in particular was really dirty. There was no cleaning supplies available to clean a bathroom. One of the pillow cases in the bedroom had marks it, which I was unable to remove, and when I washed the sheets I noticed the bed protector had a lot of small urine like spots on it. The kitchen while it is well equipped,is not equipped for three, if we were a couple it would have been fine. The flatware or cutlery, had food stuck on it, and obviously had never been near the dishwasher in a long time. Only two large garbage bags for the garbage were available, this is not enough for two weeks and three people. I spent a lot of time transferring garbage to smaller bags to keep the the large bag empty.

Very Nice Rental unit. Very Clean and comfortable. Great location with restaurants and shopping at Kalama Village within a short walking distance. GREAT views from Lanai!!! Laundry in unit was a super bonus. Patti was GREAT to work with- I had all information I needed prior to checking in!! Checking in to condo was a breeze and we had EVERYTHING we needed in the unit!! There are plenty of beach chairs and coolers, boogie board and extra beach towels. Awesome place to stay!! very nice people and comfortable unit!
