This is our second time staying in this unit and can’t wait to go back! The unit was super clean and loved the updated bathrooms! We had a couple of questions and the manager was very quick to get back to us. The manager was also kind enough to supply us with a high chair and pack n play so we didn’t have to rent them. The unit came with beach chairs and umbrellas that were perfect for our beach days.

We had morning coffee while watching the beautiful backdrop of the ocean. High recommend church at Hula Grill at 7:50am on Sundays. This rental has it all!

The Stice team’s property at the Whaler on Kaanapali Beach was everything we had hoped. Beachfront side of the complex afforded us views of Lanai, Molokai, Black Rock and daily sunsets. And being ground level made for easy access to the community grills. The two very minor issues (non-functional coffee maker and some missing utensils) were addressed within a couple of hours of our report with brand new items. Separate A/C units in each bedroom and the main living area allowed everyone in our group to dial in their ideal temperature. The pool and fitness areas were both very nice. In addition, the room was well stocked with beach chairs, towels and umbrellas. We would not hesitate to book this property again in the future should our travels bring us back to Maui.

You honestly don’t have to drive anywhere. You are literally steps from the beach. The condo is well equipped and we sat outside on the large lanai that has perfect views. If you leave the door open while you sleep you hear the crashing of the waves. Love this place!

It was perfect for my 4 children, my spouse and I. The property was clean when we arrived and had everything we needed. It has beautiful furnishings and you can tell this place is kept up. The property management company is very professional. I had to contact them while I was there because I found a damaged closet door in the guest room. They were pleasant to deal with and instructed me how to report my finding. We also enjoyed how they really have there stuff together. When you rent their condo, they give you a link that has tons of information about the check in/out process, wifi, etc. For them to provide us with all this information just made everything easy. We loved the closet that offered beach necessities like beach chairs, sand toys, and beach cooler bag. The location of the property was awesome! We loved our oceanfront view! Having coffee out on the lanai was the best!! We could head out to the beautiful beach as it was probably about 80-90 feet from the condo, which made it easy when we needed to take a break from the sun and get lunch. This condo is also just steps away from the BBQ area if you feel like grilling up your own dinner and about a 5 minute walk to restaurants at the Whaler's Village. The pool area is about a 30 second walk. The grass area off the side of the condo was a bonus for the kids as they could have somewhere to play. We were very impressed with the upkeep at The Whaler. Every single day that we were there we could see staff on top of just keeping up the premises. They were all very nice and helpful. We really had a fabulous time and can't wait to visit again!! We love this condo!!! Thank you Hawaii Life for offering such a wonderful place, we will be back!!

Also very close to Whaler's Village which has great restaurants and shopping. Our 10 month old son was with us and this unit is fully equipped for children- the pack-n-play was set up upon our arrival and the high chair was also set out at the dining room table. Everything is in perfect condition! There are also sand toys, beach towels, beach chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards to use so you won't need to rent anything to enjoy the beach! The unit is so nice we actually spent a lot of time sitting on the patio (which overlooks the ocean) to escape the sun and just enjoy the beautiful views! Even though it is on the ground floor, we never heard any noise from neighboring units. The kitchen is fully equipped- even has plates/bowls for kids. The beds are wonderful. I really can't say enough positive things about this unit. You definitely won't be disappointed if you stay at the Whaler 102!

We were in general happy with The Whaler and would return, just not to the condo we rented. There was a strong mildew odor, especially in the master bedroom.There was a hole in other bedroom door,the master bath needed improvements and carpet throughout house should be replaced. Both toilets run and dishwasher didn’t stop on its own a few times. Fridge had a strange freezer set up and no ice maker. The positives were the nice size of the living room area and the master bedroom. Also the convenience of being ground level and having a grass area outside good. The wind can whip through the side we were on however and make being outside challenging. Barbecue area is right below and walking path is close, so if you’re looking for quiet and privacy, probably not a good choice.

The wrap around lanai adds extra outdoor living space.This unit is tastefully decorated and fully stocked with everything you need. The only downside are some non-critical maintenance issues, but hopefully they will be quickly addressed. The hall bath was missing a door knob/lockset. Apparently it had malfunctioned and it is a foreign design without local parts available.

Loved being on the ground floor with direct access to the beach and the grassy area where our kids enjoyed playing. Condo had lots of space but was dated and lacked attention to detail--primary shower was clogged, floors were dirty (especially in the corners), TP holder was crooked and falling off the cabinet, the refrigerator struggled at keeping our food cold, crooked pictures, crooked outlet installs, etc. All small stuff that we honestly didn't care much about but worth mentioning at this price point. Overall the condo felt more like a $300 a night condo with lots of space. The Whaler property itself is nice and seems well maintained. Lots of great staff as well. Pool area isn't great but works for sun bathing and cooling off. Parking situation is decent, usually couldn't find a spot in the garage and had to park in the furthest lot. Overall we enjoyed our stay and the location but would probably look elsewhere for our next visit.

The location of this property is beyond perfect. I loved the view and how easy it was to walk out on the beach! The room is huge and offers so much for a family- chairs, beach towels, full kitchen! I would suggest that the bathrooms could use an upgrade in the future. Even just a coat of paint to protect the moisture spots near the bathtub in the primary bedroom. Yet, truly it was superb in every way and anything we needed, the owner provided immediately. Thank you for the most terrific vacation!

Very short walk to Whalers Village shopping and restaurants and the views cannot be beat. The beach chairs, towels and umbrellas in the unit were great to have and the beach was just steps from our patio door. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. The condo could use a little updating as it felt dated to me, but the views and location more than made up for it. I texted the property manager when we arrived and when we left, but I never heard from them while I was there. The check in process was very easy at the Whaler front desk.

The pictures of this property are sooo far off. We were beyond disappointed. We have stayed at many different condos at The Whaler's and this is by far the worst. There are no ceiling fans, which make this condo very warm and humid. There's a stale moist smell in the air. The bathrooms aren awful. There is rust on everything. The master bath shower curtain is full of mold. I attempted to message the owner many times and never heard back. We ran out of toilet paper and the lock box in the room was locked, making it unusable. We were there for two weeks and asked if there would be any cleaning service, again no response. My husband finally texted them and they responded. They answered that they'd leave TP by the door. Either someone stole it or it was never delivered. This condo needs updated. The other condos are so beautiful and "homey." We will look for other properties when we return. We would NOT recommend this unit to anyone.

I highly recommend staying Kahua Kai. The location can not be beat and the condo is Large with views from every room. I was really impressed with many items were available for us to use Beach towels, chairs, toys, and much more. We had everything we needed in the kitchen as far as utensils and pots and pans. Having such direct access to the water was incredible.

Had a wonderful trip for our first trip to Maui!! The house was very spacious and location was the best! You can walk to everything!! We had a hard time getting reservations for dinner, due to Covid, but we would walk a few steps to all the restaurants, put our name in, and they would call when something was available. Sometimes it took 30 mins and sometimes 3 hours, but super convenient that we could just walk back to our place and wait. Definitely planning a return trip!!

Absolutely one of my favorite vacation spots on the planet! Kaanapali beach is full of energy and a ground floor unit at the Whaler is likely the best place to enjoy it. Beach, waves, pool, boardwalk are all a few steps away from the condo. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The condo is spacious, well maintained, and equipped for fun and entertainment. And the guests and residents know how to have a great time on a holiday! We met lots of great people from all over the country.

We've stayed in other units at the Whaler so we knew we'd love the location. But this unit is a notch above them all. Being on the ground floor is a huge difference. The view wasn't quite as good as upper floors but still amazing. Being on the ground floor so close to the beach made it feel like our own privates beach house. Jeremy and Megan were awesome during the entire stay and readily took care of any questions we had. Can't wait to return.

Really, really liked the unit, a 2-Bdrm/2-Ba. Very nice quality furniture. The sliding glass floor-to-ceiling doors gave great views and ease of use. The textured carpet was nicely luxurious. I am not getting paid for this. Just want anybody to know that Jeremy Slice was an excellent rental agent and answered all my questions in advance. He also helped us when we were there, too. Bottom line is, next trip to Maui, we stay here.

Oceanfront and being on the 1st floor with easy access to beach, pool, walkway and shopping was very convenient! The condo was very clean with comfortable beds and everything we needed from beach chairs to boogie boards was included. Enjoyed the grills right outside our patio door and the fire pit at night. I would definitely stay at this condo again on my next trip to Maui!

We had a great experience at the Whaler. The location is wonderful- easy access to both the ocean and the pool. Also very close to Whaler's Village which has great restaurants and shopping. Our 10 month old son was with us and this unit is fully equipped for children- the pack-n-play was set up upon our arrival and the high chair was also set out at the dining room table. Everything is in perfect condition! There are also sand toys, beach towels, beach chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards to use so you won't need to rent anything to enjoy the beach! The unit is so nice we actually spent a lot of time sitting on the patio (which overlooks the ocean) to escape the sun and just enjoy the beautiful views! Even though it is on the ground floor, we never heard any noise from neighboring units. The kitchen is fully equipped- even has plates/bowls for kids. The beds are wonderful. I really can't say enough positive things about this unit. You definitely won't be disappointed if you stay at the Whaler 102!

We were delighted with our trip at Whaler 102. The unit is wonderful with great furnishings and basically everything one could possibly need plus lots of great extras like beachchairs, umbrella, sand toys, and even bodyboards! [Even cute kids plates and utensils.] The management team with awesome to work with and even brought us an extension cord on Sunday morning, had a crib and high-chair ready in the unit. This complex is top notch with a great beachfront tables, chairs, Tiki Torches area where you can bring your own food [grill it] and own drinks. And even meet new friends. You don't really find this a the hotels in the area. But the very best thing about this is the ground floor...walk off the end of the lanai and out onto the beach location. You can move back and forth to your "beachcamp" with amazing ease...not worrying about forgetting you book and even run back for a new cold beverage. It is absolutely the best that the best part of Maui has to offer!

Great views, 30 steps from the beach/pool and a stones throw from great restaurants and entertainment. The condo was clean and well stocked with beach toys and chairs/towels etc. We had small kids and it was a perfect unit for them. We really enjoyed feeding the fish in the Whaler Pond every morning and the staff was very friendly. we will definitely be back!
