Lovely view of the bay with ocean waves and beautiful sunsets while sitting on the balconey. Steps from the beach, owners have 2 beach chairs and umbrella along with towels. So easy to go relax on Sugar Beach! Pool, deli on site. Not far from grocery store to get food for the onsite grill. Bed is very comfortable and water pressure is strong in the shower.

This is an attractive, comfortable and well equipped unit with a fabulous view overlooking the beach and ocean. The resort where it is located is also very enjoyable with a nice outdoor pool, hot tub and adjacent lawn overlooking the ocean, with plenty of lounge chairs, and BBQ facilities.
The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning was good. The balcony had space to eat and lounge as well as outdoor equipment for use, such as beach chairs, umbrella and boogie boards. I would definitely rent Doug's place again.

This was hands down the best place we have stayed for a beach vacation. We would sit on the lanai and enjoy the sights and sounds of the ocean and beautiful beach. Or walk down a few flights of stairs and be on the beach for a walk swim or snorkeling in seconds. Saw a sea turtle and a few other creatures while snorkeling off the beach. Went for many long relaxing walks on the beach. I e of our favorite holidays to date. Located in a very central location so things like the Haleakalā volcano and road to Hana were only a reasonable drive away. Easy parking and beautifully maintained resort.

My family returned to Sugar Beach Resort after more than 20 years. The resort is very well maintained, We love the central location making it convenient to visit all parts of the island. I enjoyed long morning walks along the quiet beach. The condo has amazing views. We had morning coffee and evening cocktails on the lanai every day. It is updated and clean and is well stocked with all the kitchen provisions needed, along with beach chairs, umbrellas, and boogie boards. Looking forward to returning!

Loved our stay. Close to all the things we love about Maui. Place matches the description. Resort is clean, on the water with a place to rent snorkel gear (great price) and the small sandwich shop/bar is affordable and good quality. We got some great tips from locals. This property is exactly as advertised. Centrally located in Sugar Beach, a 14 minute drive to beautiful Kihei beaches. The condo was well kept and stocked with basics, like oil and seasonings. The owner was responsive and super helpful throughout our stay. One note, the beach is beautiful but you may need water shoes to swim further out, as it gets rocky once you’re past your waist. I’d definitely stay at this location again!

This apartment truly had everything we needed and more. The well-appointed kitchen was a delight, equipped with all the essentials. The view from the balcony was awesome and the sound of the waves soothed us to sleep. We were grateful to have central a/c, including in the bedroom, which appears to be rare in the islands here. It was a great place to stay for our first trip to Maui.

The condo was very attractive and reflected the online pictures. We had an issue with the TV and support person Austin arrived within 2 hrs connected with cable co in time to watch the playoffs. Very helpful and informative. View was great. Only issue was the rocks and coral on the sand and wading into the ocean difficult made it difficult to swim in the ocean. Also very windy first 2 days. We usually stay in Wailea not as windy. The unit, owner and management company all 5 stars!

Property as advertised. Kitchen has everything in the way of utensils you might need. Elcellent air conditioner.
Very convient to the elevator. Never had more than a one minute for the elevator.
Most importantly it is right on the water. The wonderful sound of the surf 24/7.

We absolutely loved this amazing condo! The Live Aloha interior was charming and truly felt Hawaiian and welcoming. It was clean with plenty of towels,
boogie boards, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, cooler and ice packs.
All the comforts of home: full kitchen, mic, washer/dryer, great bed/pillows. The view is spectacular!Wonderful sand beach below, pool and hot tub. Fabulous place to base out of to see the sights. Very safe location. Doug was a superb host, answering questions and always replying promptly. We highly recommend this property. We've stayed at Sugar Beach Resort 3 times now and absolutely loved this unit. It was beautifully decorated and perfectly located. The views from the lanai were beautiful. We enjoyed watching the paddlers each morning and the sunsets each evening. Doug was very accommodating and always responded quickly when we had any questions. We would highly recommend it!

What you see in the description plays: Why pay double/triple for a hotel just to get the same thing at this condo?! We LOVED it and would rebook here in a heartbeat. The location is off the beaten tourist path, but still close to everything and that makes you feel the benefits of "getting away" with all of the conveniences of a town.
We went to a big hotel on Oahu after staying here and missed the quiet, closeness to shore, and pace. The bed was incredibly comfortable and kitchen well-outfitted. If you're celebrating anything in Maui, go here.
Tips: Coconut's Fish Cafe (Fish Tacos), the ABC Store is a full convenience store (not just alcohol like it is in some states), make reservations for the sunrise at Haleakala months in advance if possible (go see sunset if you can't get a spot), the GyPSy Guide app is wonderful for the Road to Hana, and the Luau at the Waldorf was pricey but enjoyable.

This was our first time staying on Maui so we didn't have much to go on but we knew we wanted to be in the middle of the island so that all destinations were in reach and North Kihei is perfect for that! Road to Hana, Lahaina, Haleakala, Maui Ocean Center, the harbor, box stores, zip lining, and Turtle Town were all easy drives from here. It's also walking distance to the Sugar Beach Bake Shop and Ululani's Shave Ice--both should be daily treats! (Unfortunately, we missed a few days but not many during our 10-day stay! =)
The condo itself is nicely appointed with a great 4th floor view of the beach and ocean. We loved staying here so much that we decided to postpone our departure by a few days but, unfortunately, this condo was only available for one of those days so we found another last-minute property for our last three days. We were worried about how to get food from this place to the new place but Doug rescued us! Because this condo wasn't rented for the day we checked out, he made it possible for us to stay in his home until 3:30 that afternoon so we could take everything straight to our new property! Thanks so much for your thoughtfulness and generosity, Doug! We will most definitely try to book your home again for our next Maui trip. 😀
One request: please talk to your property management company about providing a coffee grinder--they refused to provide one during our stay. Whole beans are MUCH better and fresher than grounds and what better place to get whole been coffee than in Hawaii! 😁

It was a lovely room with everything you could want for a stay in paradise. Well outfitted condo with a fabulous view of the beach and maui sunsets. Well maintained pool with a hot tub. Six bbq grills available by the pool for guests. Room is 30 feet from the elevator - in and out is a breeze. King size bed in room (a little on the soft side for our tastes - but that's a personal issue).

We want to give more than 5 stars for this property. My husband and I spent 2 weeks at this amazing condo for our 27th wedding anniversary. Doug is an awesome host and so accommodating. Everything is right there. We didn’t swim at any other beaches. Sugar beach is beautiful and no crowds. You absolutely can’t be the views. We will be returning for our 30th and would love to stay in this condo again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I don’t think I can put into words how AMAZING this property and Doug are. I travel a lot and prefer to use apps like Vrbo when I need a place to stay and this has been the best experience I have ever had. The property is beautiful and clean. The views are amazing. The staff is so friendly. Finally, Doug. He always responded quickly, was very accommodating, and extremely friendly. Even though there’s countless places to stay in Maui, if I ever make it back, I will absolutely be staying here again.

The key attribute is the drop-dead view on the deck or through the sliding glass doors. . . the ocean is just right there in your face! We turned off a/c and just listened to the surf. The unit was clean and well-provisioned but smaller than I imagined .. . but was fine for the two of us. The building itself was older than I imagined, but well maintained. Plenty of parking.

We loved our vacation!! 4th floor overlooking the ocean right on the beach. Sugar Beach Resort is an older resort but is kept very clean. The resort staff are always out cleaning the walkways, keeping everything on the grounds immaculate. Our condo was very clean and had everything we needed to cook meals. The outdoor grill area was very nice. Grills are cleaned daily by the resort. Condo had plenty of bath towels, 2 beach towels, beach chairs and beach umbrella. We watched whales daily from the lanai. Walk right down to a very nice sand beach and swim right in front of the condo. We did not use the pool but it looked very nice and was kept very clean by the resort. We arrived late at night and had no issues. Key code for the room was already provided and had no issues with parking. Will definitely stay again. Doug is very quick to reply to any questions or concerns although we did not encounter any problems.

The property was everything it claimed to be. We immensely enjoyed the ocean front location of the unit. Sitting out each morning at sunrise and evenings for sunset, we couldn't have asked for a better location. Convenient and central to anything you might want to do in Maui. The unit itself was clean and well equipped with everything you would need for a vacation. We were so happy we had a cooler and the beach chairs to take along with us on our daily adventures. We were also able to get late checkout, at a small cost but well worth it, as our plane was not leaving until almost 11pm. The only thing I might suggest is to maybe have 1 dishwasher tab and 1 laundry tab in the unit if possible but it wasn't a huge deal as we were able to get a small pkg of each close by. Easy parking, great pool area, awesome unit and beach, perfect location....would definitely recommend. Thank you very much!

The condo was just as described. The view was amazing. We loved falling asleep to the waves crashing. The resort is beautiful and well maintained. The microwave is also a convection bake oven and works great as either. We loved our stay there and hope to come back again!! Doug was so responsive and helped us reschedule because of COVId. Excellent property and highly recommended!!!

Although we’ve been to Maui multiple times, this was our first time staying in Kihei, but if we can stay in this condo again, it won’t be our last! The condo was clean, the beds were comfortable, the ocean was steps from our building, and the view from our private balcony was unbeatable. The pool seemed nice, but the fabulous Wailea beaches were just a short distance away, so that’s where we spent a lot of our time. So happy we found this condo!

The view from this unit can't be beat, the beach is literally right there! Doug was very kind and accommodating as well. The unit has some very cute hawaiian decorations and overall everything you need. The price is also great as well. However, we didn't have the best experience here... the property management was basically non-existent and we were left without directions or a parking pass when we arrived at 6PM for our check in. There was no one on site to help us and no one would pick up any at of the phone numbers, even the after hours number. We had to figure things out on our own, while we carried our luggage all around the resort. Also, they locked us out of the unit prior to our check out time, all of our belongings still inside, and again there was no one on site to help us. We had to wait on the phone until a real person picked up and helped us, our food ended up getting cold while we waited for them to let us in, and then we had to RUSH out of there before our checkout time. They showed little remorse for this. Needless to say, not the best experience. Sugar Beach is okay, beautiful for taking a walk, but the water is a brown on the shore and you have to swim out to get clearer waters. We didn't spend time there as we opted for the nicer, better rated beaches in Maui, ie. Kam beaches which are about 20 mins drive away.

The view is amazing and the location of the property is ideal for exploring the entire island. The condo was clean upon arrival and the check-in process was smooth. The kitchen was fully stocked (except oven) and while the bedroom is a little small for two people and suitcases its definitely manageable. The beach chairs and umbrella were in great condition. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to our friends.

The view. I cannot stress this enough. The view was absolutely breathtaking. The home itself was perfect as well. Fully stocked, beautifully decorated, and in a great location. This condo is truly right on the beach with beautiful views. The condo was clean and the decor gave it a true "Hawaii" feel. It felt like our own personal tiki bar!
There was plenty of space and we were able to put all of our groceries, clothes, and luggage away without a problem. The condo was stocked with vacation essentials like towels, beach chairs, coolers, and even boogie boards.
The bathroom was clean and the shower was beautiful, the pebble floor felt like I was showering at a resort!
The bedroom was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The ceiling fan added good circulation and the shades kept the room dark (which I love!).
My friend slept on the pull out sofa bed and said it was comfortable. There were extra sheets and bedding in the closet so it was easy to make up the bed each day and then put it back so we could use the couch throughout the day.
For activities, we didn't have a rental car so we stayed close to the resort. The lounge chairs on the grass were a great place to lay and read a book. There is an ABC store a few mins walk up the beach so if we ever needed to restock on essentials it was easy to get to!
Overall, the resort was beautiful and Doug's condo was perfect. He was quick to respond on communication and made it easy to book and then relax.
10/10 would stay again! I'm already dreaming of being back on the balcony listening to the waves, drinking coffee and watching the sunrise.

We loved our stay at the condo. The location in Sugar Beach was great, close to everything on Maui. The condo had everything we needed, was decorated nicely, and the oceanfront view was amazing. Nice pool and a short walk down the beach to an ABC store, Sugar Beach Bakery (top notch), and great shave ice.

Very clean condo right in the water. The decor was a bit dated, however, the view will never be out of date. I was a little disappointed by the lack of an oven in the apartment. Overall a quality experience.
