Great view! Upgraded to the Penthouse. Quiet property. Sunset, and Moonset views were breathtaking. Especially the Moonset. Comfortable bed. I especially liked the moving wall/door separating the bathroom from the bedroom. Other condos don’t have that feature. Nice when traveling with more people.
Communication with Brenda and Mike couldn’t have been better. Make sure you stop at the rental office to register and pick up your parking pass upon arrival.

Comfy condos nestled right on the north of kihea. The beach is very beautiful, just like the rest of the gorgeous beaches here. Great location to stay if you plan on exploring the entire island like we did.

We absolutely loved our week-long stay at Sugar Beach. Thanks to the wonderful hosts and ideal location, we were in heaven. We stayed in the incredible penthouse and ate dinner almost every night from the balcony overlooking the ocean. The condo comes stocked with all you'll need (comfy bed, coffee maker, beach towels/chairs, kitchen stuffs, etc.) and the views morning, afternoon, and evening were breathtaking.
A few recommendations:
1) Walk down the beach in the morning to Sugar Beach Bake Shop--amazing pastries and good coffee.
2) Book a visitors paddle with Kihei Canoe Club. It's a short walk down the beach and after watching them paddle by every morning, it's fun to join the crew.
3) Always bring a snorkel. You can buy/rent snorkel equipment and boogie boards from the snorkel shop at sugar beach. Snorkeling on Maui is incredible. We bought a snorkel from this shop and brought it with us to every beach.
We found the vibe at Sugar Beach was perfect for us, very low key, relaxing, and lots of smiles. Our hosts also made us feel taken care of from check in to check out. If this place is free, you should definitely book it! We are so happy we did.

The condo was fully stocked with everything needed for a week's stay. It was in a great location with gorgeous views of the ocean. The owner was easy to work with and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and enjoying our trip. The location was perfect for driving to other areas of the island. We loved our stay here!

I would NOT even hesitate for a second regarding if I would book here, again. We were moved to the penthouse because we had our kiddos in tow this vacation. If this suite is available for your time in Maui, BOOK NOW! You will not regret it. Most idyllic location, beautiful quiet beach with incredible sunsets. Also features the BEST hosts. We had a late flight and they supplied us with snacks and water for when we arrived. They ensured everything was to our liking and even cared for our well being, can't say enough good things about them. We enjoyed seeing sea turtles from the lanai and the gorgeous view! This place has everything you'll need in Maui, including a cooler, beach chairs and an umbrella. We absolutely loved and cherished our time here celebrating our 10th anniversary with our 9 and 5 year old. We all had such a blast! ❤️ Thank you, Mike and Brenda!!!!

This place was amazing! The location - directly ocean front on a wonderfully swimmable beach - was fantastic. The views from the condo were spectacular. Communication with the very kind owners was excellent. They even left snacks in the condo to celebrate our arrival. We’ve stayed at other places on Maui but none were as welcoming and comfortable as this place. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

This place is soo amazing! Mike and Brenda are amazing hosts who went out of their way to make our stay awesome. They upgraded us to their penthouse and it made this trip for our family so perfect. They even brought us gifts and did so many little things to make our stay super enjoyable! The lanai has such beautiful views, the location is wonderful and close to all you need but still feels private and lovely. The king size bed is soo nice. I slept like a baby and our 17 year old daughter slept great on the hideaway bed. This was just perfect for the 3 of us and we will be back! Highly recommend!! Mahalo!!

We loved the amazing views and accessibility to the beach from our condo. Not only was the master bed comfy but so was the pull out couch bed!
The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals while there and even had both a Keurig and a drip coffee maker!
But Mike is the reason we will come back! He was the most responsive property owner I've dealt with from VRBO! Even when the power went out, he made an extra trip over to give us an extra flashlight.
He went above and beyond to make sure we had an incredible stay!

Mike and Brenda take great care of the property and are excellent communicators ahead of the stay! The view from our complimentary upgrade to the penthouse was amazing, the lanai is quite peaceful, and it really is just a quick elevator ride and walking path by pool right to the ocean! During our stay Mike was also great at responding to any questions we had. The property is furnished with comfortable chairs couch and bed, the bathroom and shower are great, the kitchen met and exceeded our wishes, the washer and dryer in unit were very nice, and the atmosphere was a welcome respite from the bustle of daily life on the mainland.
Without reservation we recommend you book your stay with these folks! We look forward to “hurrying back” to visit again 😀.

We had a great 8-night stay at Mike's condo in Kihei. The location on the island was perfect for being able to easily explore all of Maui. This was our first trip to Maui and spent most days hiking in various spots all over the island. The central location of Kihei was perfect.
The condo was very clean. And the resort, despite being a little older, is very well maintained and extremely clean. I was very impressed. While we were gone most of the day, Mike's condo had everything that we needed when we were there. And there was nothing better than eating breakfast on the balcony every morning with that unbelievable view and sound of ocean waves. Sunsets from the balcony were amazing every night, as were the sunrises over Haleakalā in the mornings from the front door side. And we actuallly saw a humpback whale jump completely out of the water within five minutes of getting in, when first checking out the view.
Check-in was easy and the communication from Mike beforehand was outstanding. He also checked in with us during the week to make sure everything was OK and we had everything that we needed. We could tell that he really cared about how things were going for us and that everything was in order. I highly recommend Mike's condo. We'll definitely be looking to stay here again if we every get back to Maui.

Having stayed at Sugar Beach in 2020, I knew I had to go back. We searched for a couple months when Mike and Brenda’s unit popped up we booked it immediately. They were a dream to work with. They stayed in contact with us once the booking was confirmed. When we arrived they let us know the moment housekeeping was done and we could get into the unit. We were traveling with a toddler and we wanted to settle in asap. Their decor was bright and clean. We had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable. I slept on the hide a bed and it was as good as can be expected. You absolutely cannot beat the view from your lanai. Mike and Brenda left us a Starbucks card at our front door the evening before we left to get coffee at the airport!! Sweet! Thanks guys! Until we meet again!😉

We can't express enough, if anyone is visiting Maui, book with Mike and Brenda! They went above and beyond for my wife and I. My wife is 16 weeks pregnant, so Mike and Brenda upgraded us to their penthouse suite to get have some seclusion so she could relax. We were also celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary which made it that more special even more. This place is your literally a piece of heaven. It's tucked away with its own private beach. We might have only seen 8 people out on it at once. Direct Oceanviews seeing the Molokini Crater. You're within 15-25 minutes of every town you would want to see, with the quietness to go with it. Plus, I only used my GPS when going to a reservation, other then that, it was really easy to get to and from the condo. At the end, Mike and Brenda even left us a little gift for staying with them. By far the best VRBO experience and host service we have ever incurred. They communicated well, gave us ideas on places where to go, and even went and picked my wife up flowers when I tried to have them delivered to save me on a delivery fee. If you want your paradise and time to unwind from your busy life, book this place. I promise you won't regret any of it. From Indiana to Kihei, Maui, Mahalo!

Easy booking and Michael called as soon as it was completed! He was friendly, informative and eager to give me info on, not only Sugar Bay and his unit, but local suggestions for dinner, entertainment and fun! We we contacted prior to arrival and given very easy instructions for access and wifi/TV etc. The condo is amazing with spectacular views! Very well stocked with everything you could need or want! We spent 10 days in Maui and all 10 at Mike and Brenda’s property. We were upgraded to the penthouse suit for our honeymoon and enjoyed terrific views of the ocean and surrounding areas. Location was amazing as it’s no longer than a 30-45 minute drive to most of the island. We enjoyed using some of the beach chairs and other amenities left for us. The house was stocked with everything we needed for our stay. Mike was very responsive and gave us some advice on beaches to see. The shave ice stand in walking distance is a must, also, coffee from the bakery next door. Thanks for making our honeymoon one we will never forget!

Me and my now husband stayed at this property for our elopement/honeymoon in Maui and it was great! Mike upgraded us to his penthouse unit and the view from the balcony was amazing. We enjoyed many meals/drinks out there. The unit was great, clean, and well stocked. The bed was comfortable and I loved that the living room was like with mirrors as it helped when I was getting my in room hair/make up done for my wedding! The resort has a nice pool/hot tub area but we never used it because the ocean was a much better choice for us. I love that they even provide chairs/umbrellas to take down to the beach with you. The location of this rental is great in Kihei which seemed way less packed than the Lahaina/West Maui area. You are within driving distance to any other location you would like to go, plus the best shave ice place is about a 10 minute walk from the unit (don’t want to admit how many times we went there). The only downfall was that it was windy every day of our trip in this location of Kihei which some locals told us is normal for this area but many other areas were less windy when we went exploring. I would definitely go back!

We were upgraded to the penthouse room and loved our time there. The room had a beautiful view of the beach. The resort is in a quiet area and we only heard the waves from the ocean from our balcony. The room was clean and had all of the amenities that we needed. We took the beach umbrella and chairs to the beach and they were great. We really enjoyed staying at the Sugarbeach resort. We had a top floor (sixth floor) unit with views directly onto the beach and ocean. It was a great place to hang out. The beach there is perfect for a morning walk and to watch the canoe clubs practice. It is convenient to access all parts of the island from that location and we'd be happy to return there some day.

We had a terrible storm with lots of flooding that closed many things while we were there and put a slight damper on our visit, but you can’t control the weather. Great condo right on the beach in N.Kihei! Everything is exactly as described in both words and pictures. Most important to us, the hosts, Brenda and Mike, are simply wonderful. We have done vacation rentals in Hawaii, California, NYC, Vermont, Vancouver and Europe. Brenda and Mike are without a doubt the best and most gracious hosts one can have. It's not about the money with them. It's about you having the most relaxing stress free vacation possible. To say they go the extra mile to see to your comfort and enjoyment is an understatement. As advertised, it is direct beachfront. The roar of ocean was hypnotizing. The owners were wonderful! They made us feel so welcome and well taken care of— even leaving a tray of snack goodies for us. They communicated every detail, from the trick to opening screen door to pulling the chain on the ceiling fan. It was like staying with “Aunt Brenda” and “Uncle Mike”; we were treated like family. The condo was FULLY stocked with cleaning supplies, sunblock, bug spray, towels, beach chairs, pool noodles, hair spray,… everything we had to leave at home. It was nice to have available.
While we found Lahaina to be more exciting and lively, and a bit more our style, Kihei was very quiet and more intimate. We had a blast at Makena and was one of our favorites! We spent our last two nights on Maui sitting on the beach stargazing and plotting ways to miss our flight home.
We would love to stay here again and can’t thank you enough for your hospitality!

When they say that you can't get a better view of the ocean, they mean it. We saw swimmers, boats, a rainbow and more from the wonderful lanai. The place had everything we needed for a fabulous week exploring Maui. It is so close to the airport and centrally located to everything we wanted to see. Highly reccomned!

This condo has the best view!!! One of our favorite things of our entire trip was to sit on the lanai while having breakfast and while watching the sun set. It was relaxing and peaceful.
The condo is exactly as listed. The hosts thought of everything. We had everything we needed and then some.
We enjoyed the fun surprises that were left for us. Mike and Brenda made us feel like friends.
We enjoyed being able to rent boogie boards and snorkeling gear for the week right on the property. It was so convenient. Dina's Sandwitch shop was also convenient and offered a quick takeout meal for us without leaving the property.
When I come back to Hawaii, I will definitely look at renting this condo again and I will recommend it to friends. The care and attention of the hosts made our stay perfect. Mahalo!

This was the perfect location to launch an exploration of Maui, easy access to sites in all directions. We especially enjoyed the lanai and spent quite a lot of time enjoying the view to the beach, watching the kids boogy board, and the beautiful sunsets. We had a great time staying at the condo. Everything was very clean and well kept. The resort sits on a lovely little beach that you can retreat to after traveling all around the island. The lanai is Ocean front! Coffee every morning out there was one of my favorite parts to the trip. Would highly recommend to stay here!

Easy communication and check-in - could not have been more seamless! A picturesque setting and incredible to wake up to the beach view and have breakfast on the balcony. Also great to have beach towels available for outings. For those very detail oriented, some features of the condo were a little bit worn-appearing (mostly just paint touch ups needed) and the bed was comfortable but fairly soft (for those who prefer a firm mattress). Overall an incredible spot and perfect stay/location for hopping around Maui!
