We enjoyed our stay here. Furniture was comfortable and condo was roomy. It was nice to have a washer/dryer in condo too. There were many amenities at the complex for you to enjoy and it was gated. View was good, but in hindsight I would have looked for a condo on 2nd floor or above. There is a small hill and hedges between the lanai and ocean, so when sitting on lanai, there is not much of an ocean view if watching the wave action is what you want. We liked the location because it was away from the busy part of Kona, but close enough to drive, park and enjoy the restaurants and shopping in that area. Overall we enjoyed the condo and all it offered and would recommend for your stay in Kona.

The place was tidy and comfortable. You can hear everything outside at night :( there are missing louvers on the glass front windows. There are not black out curtains in any of the bedrooms and the curtains that are there do not close all the way. There is a pathway behind the condo (main bedroom side) and the curtains are see through and don't close so you don't have privacy for changing clothes. There are bright street lamps outside that shine into the windows. The sandy beach that is mentioned is not really a beach. Beautiful oceanfront view.
Good things: VERY close to the most amazing shallow reef, GREAT SNORKELING FOR KIDS. It's quiet for the most part. It's clean and the beds are comfortable. The couches are clean and comfortable :)
We would stay again if they remedied the curtain situation.

We just completed our stay at the Kona Surf and Racquet Club and really enjoyed this unit. Unit was clean upon arrival, everything was in working order and was well stocked for our stay including beach and snorkel stuff. The location was perfect for us, breath taking views being ocean front was a must for our stay. We enjoyed most sunsets just right out front. We also appreciated the AC, it does get warm in the afternoons and the AC was a plus. Location of the complex is good, close to a shopping center and a short drive into the downtown Kona area for dining etc. Check in and out was easy, communication with the management company was good. Would definitely stay here again, the oceanfront location was beautiful.

The property was great for my wife and I and our 2 year old. Our only issue was that the blinds needed repairing so our first night was difficult for our little one to sleep thoroughly without darkness. The property management was very helpful and had someone come out to fix they blinds the next day.

Just what the Doc ordered! Quiet, Clean, ocean front, lovely birds, stunning views, so relaxing. A very well equipped rental. The pool and tennis courts are well maintained, great to be able to just walk to them. Will definitely return.

We selected this property because we wanted the bedroom and living room to open up to the ocean - we were not disappointed. The place was great and you fall asleep and wake up to the sounds of the waves just below the property. The room has been updated and is well cared for. We were more than happy and intend to book this room again.

I don't think this condo should be rented while a loud remodel is going on next door, and plumbing pipes had been excavated and were in plain sight at the entrance. We were out almost all day, every day, so the inconvenience was minimized. The bathrooms are very dated and it is difficult to make them appear clean when grout and enamel is so old and deteriorated. Kitchen and supplies were adequate.

We got here and read the visitor manual, it indicated that we needed a parking pass so we tried to call the property manager, he did not pick up. Then we emailed him and he got back to us two days later saying that a parking pass was not required. No harm no foul…

The condo overall was great. Location was great. Ground floor, no stairs to climb. Even though it has no AC the property had enough overhead fans and floor fans to keep the property comfortable. There are a few maintenance issues that need to be addressed however the property manager was able to take care of that.
One thing I did see was this was the first time in Hawaii after many of the covid restrictions had been lifted and we found that the condo had very in the ways of smaller supplies. For example, no condiments like salt, pepper., catsup, mustard, etc.. Pre Covid all the properties I had used through VRBO had those available. Not that we minded having to purchase those, it would have been nice to know about this before we got to the condo. We always stop at a store prior to getting to the condo to pick up other food and essentials..
All in all, a great place to stay. I would recommend this unit to anyone.
PS: The sunsets over the ocean were spectacular.

The Kona Surf and Racquet club is a beautiful and convenient place to stay. Ive stayed at this location (not this condo) several times and I love this location!!! With that said the condo stated it was renovated, but I found it had several areas untouched. The master bathroom needs work, at least a new sink, and counter, wall needs to be finished by washer dryer where they did some work and just left it open to the studs. Didn't even have a stopper in sink, and when you used it, all you could smell is sewage.
The primary bedroom was ok, bed was very comfortable. The second bedroom was ok, but the management company got a hold of me the 2nd day in, stating that they wanted to send someone out to replace the TV. Guess it didn't work. So, they used my vacation time that I booked the condo, to have someone come in, measure, and go buy the TV. Then the next day, use my time again to deliver it to the room. Excuse me....when I am on vacation, and paying for the room, that is not the time I want maintenance activities to happen!!! Unless it is emergent, then schedule these things in between rentings!!! The only good thing about it was they got rid of this super nasty old fan...rusted piece of crap that should have been replaced ions ago. They had it sitting in the livingroom. So, they did bring a new fan in, after I complained. I figured since they were coming anyway, they needed to get rid of that.
The kitchen was renovated. It did have a good assortment of utensils, plates, pots and pans. It did have a coffee machine and grinder which was all great. Just FYI, absolutely no condiments...not even salt and pepper, so prepare to grab those.
Dinning room wasn't too great, couldn't get the light to work, also the table was too high, or chairs to low...I felt like a little kid eating. Living room had nice furniture, but one of the biggest disappointments was the view while sitting in the Livingroom. Directly out the lanai door is a grass incline with a short hedge on top. So, while sitting, you can't see the water, just the grass. If you stand, or sit on the lanai tall bar height table, you can enjoy the view...which by the way is breath taking! Thank God for the amazing ocean sounds, and crashing of waves, even if you couldn't see the water, you could hear it! That is if the kids in the apartment above you weren't running around and screaming. Which happened for about 10 days of our 14 day stay.

Everything was fine. I would note for the owner that the installers of the new washer and dryer did not reinstall the small shelf next to the unit. Also the insect repellent was necessary as there were what appeared to be roaches on the patio at bottom of the sliding door. Excellent unit and will most likely want to come again soon.

Place has an excellent location. Amenities were great. Place needs a little more up keep. T/P holder was loose and falling off and 1 of the screen doors was not operable. But other than that place was great.

Kona Surf and Tennies Club was beautiful! Waking up to the sound of waves crashing against the shore. The club was close to shopping and tons of things to do.

My friend and I had a lovely week at Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet Club. The unit was spacious and two bedrooms/two baths and an updated kitchen. The unit was clean, with a well appointed kitchen with plenty of dishes, silverware and cooking utensils. The unit does not have air conditioning, but has plenty of overhead and stand up fans. The bathrooms were functional, but the master bath is in desperate need of an update. The sink is rusted and there is no drain stopper; the shower has mold at the bottom. Supplies were sparse; we ended up sharing the last roll of TP as only 2 extra rolls were left in the unit. The bath towels are very old and worn out. The master bed was comfortable; the twin beds in front bedroom were extremely uncomfortable so my friend slept on the sofa bed after a few nights. The complex swimming pool was delightful, water was very refreshing and there were plenty of chaise lounges.

Condo had beautiful views, and the furnishings and kitchen function well. We found it easy to get into downtown Kona and explore areas south as well. Great 2 beaches pretty close, one to snorkel and the other with nice sand. We loved our stay there and glad we went for the ocean side condo.

The kitchen, living room & patio were very well appropriated. The biggest complaint was the blinds in living room and master bedroom did not close (broken pulls). No privacy at all. The sink in master bath was rusty with no plug. Lots of mold and mildew in and around shower. The washing machine was rusted out. The TV was difficult to figure out. Tried to get help with blinds & was told by the manager that the problem was known but had not been able to fix. So why was it rented? The view was disappointing with a knoll obstructing everything but the horizon.

Our family had the best time at this vacation rental. It has a gorgeous view of the ocean from the Lanai and is close to gorgeous beaches, great dining options and shopping. We had 9 days on the big island and our rental was excellent. The location was great and the amenities were everything we could want. The pool and tennis courts were perfect - quiet and leisurely.We were able to get to the market easily and the downtown Kona area was a healthy 3 miles away just enough to keep us away from the noise and the crush of people but near enough to get to when we wanted to. Snorkeling is excellent at the nearby beach where you can lay in the sun or sit in the shade of a palm tree. The perfect place to stay to relax and to have activities to make your big island experience wonderful!!!!
