I've stayed at a lot of places in Waikoloa area. This is by far the best.

We loved our stay here! It was convenient to our drive to the summit of Mauna Kea, to Waipio, to Hapuna Beach, and to restaurants and grocery stores. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the outside shower was great. Spacious with plenty of room, and beautiful surroundings.

Spacious, well-equipped dwelling and grounds. Landscape views. Amazing outdoor shower.
Perfectly located: 15 minutes away from great food, beaches, activities and conveniences.
Would definitely stay again: 10/10
Google maps might direct you to a neighbors driveway, so pay attention to the street number when you’re arriving (the entrance is where you would expect it to be).

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely duplex rental located on a large private property in a quiet neighborhood. The house is a unique design with a round bedroom and en-suite bathroom that includes a door to a wonderful outdoor shower and garden enclosed by lava rock walls. The living, dining and kitchen areas are spacious and well appointed. The owners live in a separate home on the property and are available but never intrusive. We enjoyed our 3-week stay very much. Aloha.

The location is a 10 minute drive from the local beach. Not many restaurants nearby, takes roughly 45 minutes to drive to the heart of Kona. The property was well stocked with beach supplies. The outdoor shower was a lovely touch and stargazing at night was breathtaking. The shower also waters the tangerine tree nearby. There is a tangerine tree on the property as well as a lemon tree. Most of the tangerines had small worms crawling inside but the lemons were very tasty and unlike anything we’ve ever had. The room was romantic, clean, plenty of storage, and high quality bedding. Even though there was a skylight window above the bed, you cannot really see the stars at night. There is a laundry on the property which was a short walk away. The trash cans were close to the property as well. There’s a grill and outdoor eating area. The kitchen is stocked with spices, oils, coffee and sugar. The complementary lunch bag was very helpful for our outdoor activities. The living area was comfortable and the couches had lots of room to relax. There is no air conditioning inside the house, but it didn’t feel hot because there was a large amount of fans inside each room which helped with circulation and the windows being open helped create a nice breeze. The parking lot is very close to the house and ample parking. The outdoor views were very beautiful like a garden and many picturesque views. Overall our stay was very pleasant and we had a very lovely honeymoon. Thank you so much Matt.

This was our second time staying at this property. It is half way between Waimea and the beaches. It is clean, quiet and a home away from home. We had everything we needed to cook with as we like to buy fresh fish. We loved the outdoor shower. I read a couple of the books in the library. Love that we can do laundry here! Enjoyed the tangerines and limes that grow here! Loved it that we had beach towels, chairs, snorkel equipment and boogie boards! Matt is great -- so helpful! Highly recommend!
We went to so many beaches, visited Waimea often for groceries and eating out. Went to Honokaa... Captain Cook for snorkling... etc. Just a note: If you want to visit Volcano Nat'l Park, I'd recommend staying on that side of island for a couple days as the park is 2 hours away from this location.

The property was wonderful and as described. Matt was a wonderful host and it was clear that he put great energy and care into the space. It was well equipped, clean, comfortable, and beautiful. The surrounding garden and fruit trees were lovely and the outdoor shower was awesome. The bed was super comfortable and the space had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. The beach and snorkel gear was wonderful and I cannot say enough great things about the property and the experience. The unit is adjacent to another Vrbo unit, but we had plenty of privacy and have no complaints. The property was lovely and we’d gladly stay there again!

This is a very lovely, quiet and private property. It suited us well for our purposes and it is worth the price.
We didn't care for the way the fee structure is handled through VRBO. I think it would feel better to quote an end price, rather than a seemingly low price that has fairly steep fees attached.

Rural setting, quiet but not isolated, peaceful and private. Owner very helpful, available if needed, invisible if not. Very cool outdoor shower but nice to have the indoor one too, especially when windy. Star-filled view from the skylight above the bed. Good Vibe!!

We had the most wonderful, healing stay, in the lovely Shambhala. It was absolutely an outstanding, charming place to stay. Genius design in paradise. Dry side Waimea had the best weather on the island, and was super conveniently located for all things grand, and worth exploring on that side of the island. The hosts were lovely, as was the privacy in paradise. The app wouldn't let me choose 5 stars. I wouldn't wish to stay anywhere else.

The property was lovely, clean, comfortable and in a great location! 10 minutes from Waimea 15 minutes from 3 beautiful beaches! Matt (the owner) was very nice and helpful. We would stay here again for sure!

Shambhala is beautifully integrated as part of an unexpected tropical oasis on the dry side of Waimea. The use of water harvesting techniques , thoughtful forest garden plantings, a citrus orchard and use of local materials makes this experience so unique. The cottage and yurt was much larger than expected . It is very clean and beautifully decorated with local vintage and antique furniture, has a nicely stocked kitchen , a large dining room, an outdoor private shower and cedar yurt with a skylight to take full advantage of the outdoors. The BBQ and outdoor seating area are perfect for further enjoying the wildlife that is attracted to this oasis . We also appreciated the use of beach chairs, snorkels and coolers. Matthew and Rose are very respectful and are available for questions, and are more than willing to share their amazing harvest of fruit . This property is also a short drive from the local farmers markets to further experience the local community supported agriculture . We were very glad that we were able to book this property and would highly recommend staying at Shambhala!
