Enjoy your morning coffee on the front deck while soaking in the ocean views. There is an outdoor private shower and separate tub available for rinsing off after spending your day at the beach or for a liberating alternative to the home's interior clawfoot tub/shower. Have a relaxing cocktail or BBQ in your private enclosed backyard under an open area pergola patio.

We loved our four-night stay here! Lovely cottage, nicely decorated/updated, well-stocked kitchen, and an absolutely beautiful backyard, we spent a lot of time out there. They also had a great variety of beach/hiking supplies which was a nice bonus. Easy access to Waimea canyon and hiking and close to the south shore beaches too. Was perfect for our family of four.

The Waimea Beach Cottage (WBC) was the perfect place to stay. It was well-appointed with everything you need — beautiful towels, comfy mattresses and sheets, outdoor shower, and lovely backyard as described. You even have your own charming roosters (bring earplugs and you’ll be fine). The ocean was a short distance to the back and the main street was a block away. From small, local merchants, one can find tasty shaved ice, smoothies, coffee, burgers, tacos, burritos, and more by walk-in or driving a few minutes. It is conveniently located to visit the Canyon, Kaua’i Coffee Company, Hanapepe Friday Art Night, and Captain Andy’s at Port Allen. For anyone wanting to experience the charm of small town Hawai’i away from resorts, immerse yourself in culture, and have comfortable amenities at an affordable price, WBC is the place for you.

While the cottage itself was cute inside and remodeled was not expecting to see trash on the porch as we pulled up. As we went in at first it looked great. Our biggest issue was the front door. It did not have a door knob. Upon further looking at it from the inside it looked like a piece of plywood in the middle with 3 locks one was a hook and eye lock and the other two were slide locks that you typically see in a restroom on their door. For it being three women staying there it did not seem safe at all. The beach was very dirty with homeless people. I do understand that does happen here but there was no one else on the beach, I would not have gone for a walk by myself. The neighbors were loud and there was a very loud screech coming from their house made it impossible to enjoy the patio. The back yard was quite nice though. We ended up letting them know we would not be staying there as we did not feel safe. With the 30 min we were there we saw police circling the neighborhood multiple times. It made us wonder why and did not leave us with a good feeling. In talking to the owners they were a little shocked and said they have not heard of that happening but they did wish us well. We did know leaving we would not see a refund and ended up staying in a hotel. It was much easier to sleep knowing that no one could get in the door.

We had three in our party. The beach cottage allowed us to explore the Waimea side of the island and to visit with our Kauai family. The back yard was a beautiful treat for the children. We had dinners together after playing in the water. It was a great week.

The cottage was very nice and very clean. The doors and porches were a little chopped up but it worked. The back yard was super cute and we enjoyed sitting out there. The beach was ok, lots of debris. The place was very close, walkable to restaurants and grocery. All in all it was a great stay!!

The perfect home during our time on Kauai. The cottage had the ideal size for our family (2 adults, 2 teenagers). It is equipped with everything you need in a week's vacation and very clean. The location is perfect to explore the Waimea Canyon. Mahalo!

Excellent location for the canyon hikes. Outdoor tub and shower were fun. House was adorable, clean and well provisioned. The little town had lots of good food options. Grest views and could hear the ocean from my window at night.

We chose this location because we wanted to be closer to hiking spots. We were also looking for a bit quieter, laid-back area. We were not far from the entrance to Waimea Canyon and Koke'e State Park. Worked really great for us! We had a great beach to walk, steps from the house and a great swimming beach approximately 15 minutes away (Salt Pond Beach Park). Great restaurants and a grocery store also steps away. Very convenient and nice people. The house had everything we wanted or needed. Very comfortable rooms, neat outdoor shower, washer and dryer and comfortable living room. They even provided a lighted make-up mirror. My only caution on this house and neighborhood are the roosters. They are EVERYWHERE! Totally not the fault of the owners, roosters are everywhere on Kauai, but the 4 am crowing was not fun. We finally figured out how to use the high fan speed on the room coolers and that did help mitigate the sound. Would highly recommend this property.

Wonderful little house to come home to after a days fun activities. Beautiful back yard with patio and furniture. Good size rooms with all the amenities you need. The kitchen had everything you could need to cook for a family. Nice big screen tv. I will miss everything, even the roosters.

We absolutely loved walking into this place! It is so clean and wonderfully located... you feel like you're coming home. The backyard is beautiful and private. We liked to stay on this side of the island where it was a little quieter and then traveling around the rest of the island during the day. The beds were wonderfully comfortable. To have the body boards and umbrella and washer and dryer and everything you would possibly need there to go and enjoy a day ....was so convenient too. Thank you so ...highly recommend.

We had a great stay- house was clean, kitchen is nicely updated. The outdoor tub and shower was great- recommend over the indoor shower. Quiet location- very close to drive up to Waimea Canyon, easy drive to busier south shore beaches. Short walking distance to grocery store, but be prepared restaurants in town close early.

Perfect cottage close to beach., although not swimmable but a long sandy beach. Cottage was stocked with all the amenities and decorated so well. Appreciated the laundry cubes and coffee. Within walking distance to small town for shopping and restaurants. Outside bath and shower were perfect! Never used the indoor bath! Security motion lights and large fenced yard made us feel safe. Would definitely return.

The cottage was delightful. It is very clean, well equipped and suited our needs. It is conveniently located to all activities on the south side of the island, with short drives to Poipu, Koloa & the Waimea Canyon. 4:00 Check-in was delayed a bit. We arrived at 4:15, but the cottage was still being cleaned. We could not access the cottage until 5:15. The beach is very close by, but somewhat dirty. Otherwise our stay was wonderful. Mahalo!

January 2023
The cottage was comfortable with both ceiling fans and AC. The kitchen has the tools you need to really cook. The front porch was great for morning coffee. The backyard was roomy and enjoyable to spend time in. The outdoor shower made it easy to clean up after a day at the beach or hiking without tracking in sand or mud. Comfortable beds. Easy walking distance to JoJo’s shave ice, Island tacos, Porky’s, the Mama Bear food truck and more.

We loved our stay at the beach cottage! Super cute, well-stocked kitchen, amazing location- what more do you want? We could walk to the pier for amazing sunsets, walk to the beach for sandy strolls, and walk to places for lunch. It was my little family of 3- hubby, myself, and our college-age daughter. Easy check- in and quick responses from the host. Great place to stay!

November 2022
We absolutely loved this home! It was very clean, had great amenities (fully stocked kitchen supplies for cooking, extra outdoor shower, beautiful backyard and patio, beach items, etc.), was peacefully decorated, and is a great location for accessing the Waimea Canyon. I spent a lot of time enjoying the backyard because they did such a good job, feels like an oasis! My husband and I loved being in the home and the location really gives you a “local” feel. We could walk to the grocery store and restaurants. The beach was easily accessed, but was pretty littered on the path leading up to it. We only used this beach to watch the sunset. We drove to other beaches to swim and do other beach activities because the water is pretty rough and cloudy here. The house is pretty close to a place that does live music in the evenings and the fire station, but it never bothered us. We always bring a portable sound machine when traveling anyway. Highly recommend staying at this home!

The reviews were spot on. The house was equipped with everything we need. The backyard is a beautiful private space to hang out. We enjoyed our coffee out there in the morning and dinner in the evening. The outside shower and tub are a wonderful treat after a long day out at the beach or on the trails. It is located in a neighborhood so very few other visitors in the area. We had a sense of what life is like for the people of Kauai. Highly recommended.

The cottage was perfect! We walked to the black sand beach each morning and then again in the evening for sunset. The backyard and lanai were amazing - we spent lots of time out there. The outdoor shower was a huge bonus (we never even used the indoor shower). The location was beautiful and an easy drive to Poipu and other popular places (which were all detailed in the guest book at the cottage). The grocery store and restaurants were a very short walk away and had everything we needed. I will definitely stay here the next time I travel to Kauai and I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing place to stay!

Wonderful location - just a short walk to the beach/pier to watch the sunrise and waves come in, as well as a short drive to see Waimea Canyon/Kōke’e State Park and the airport. Cute cottage inside and out and A/C is definitely a plus!

September 2022
We enjoyed our stay at the Waimea Cottage. The property is extremely clean and has a wonderful fenced in backyard with a nice seating area. Comfy beds and a great Smart TV make the inside feel like home. Very close to the Waimea Canyon entrance and some good restaurants in the town itself. We didn’t use the beach as the island offered better options. There is a homeless population along the beach which inevitably means trash or items such as sleeping bags and mattresses within view of the cottage. We never felt unsafe and enjoyed using the property as a home base while we explored the southern part of the island. The shower head could use some updating or cleaning, streams of water were going in odd directions due to clogs. A/C units kept the inside very comfortable. Would rent again.

July 2022
The cottage is great. 2 bedrooms, living room and kitchen. And, an outdoor shower and bath. The kitchen is outfitted with high quality pots, pans, utensils. Stove, microwave and refrigerator are up to date. there are laundry facilities with newer model LG washer and dryer. There is a newer gas grill. the bed is very comfortable. The living room has a larger TV, comfortable sofa and dining table. The owners clearly take pride in their property. With 2 bedrooms, the cottage would be great for families. The backyard is large. The cottage is just across the road from the beach, only a hundred feet or so from the water. And the beach is wonderful, one of the best we have seen on the island. Being in Waimea, this is the entrance to driving up to the canyon so you don't to drive across the bottom of the island to get to it.

This was a wonderful property, and exactly what my wife and I were looking for. If you are looking for a quiet location away from the hustle of the resorts, this is it. Waimea is a neat little town whose sign says it is a "walking town." It is absolutely correct. The strolling beach across the street, the steakhouse and bar next door (which are not loud), the two markets within two blocks, and the other restaurants only a few blocks away make this property a super convenient location to save a little gas. The kitchen and bath are very well stocked, and there were more supplies than we needed. We loved the cute backyard in this property (though it's only accessible from outside.) One of the biggest luxuries we appreciated at this property was the beach supplies. We used the beach towels, coolers, beach chairs, and umbrella, and were so thankful they were all there for our use. We would recommend this property to any couples or small families looking for a quiet home in a slow paced, yet well stocked little town.

June 2022
Beautifully recently remodelled beach cottage. The cottage was clean with nice amenities. We especially liked the yard and patio. Waimea is in the part of the island the locals live - not hotels and there are very few rentals. It's an ideal location for exploring Waimea Canyon, Hanapepe, Polihale State Park, and Kauai Coffee planation. My wife wished there was a dishwasher, but the sink and kitchen was very clean. I used the 'Island Gym' which was 10 minutes away in Hanapepe.

The Waimea Beach Cottage is super cute! If you want a clean, comfortable place to stay very close to Waimea canyon then this is it! Location is perfect to quickly get to wonderful view points of the canyon and the Napali Coast and an abundance of hiking trails. The cottage was very clean and exactly as advertised. Our daughter loved the bed-her favorite of our 3 week stay in Hawaii. I loved the backyard-so “Hawaiian”. We grilled out back both nights and enjoyed the peacefulness (and full moon) while relaxing in the backyard. I also loved showering outside in Hawaii!! The only suggest I have would be to have a door that leads directly to the backyard from inside the house. We had to go out the front or side doors and through back gates to get to the backyard from inside the house. But all-in-all, we loved our stay here!!!

The cottage was the perfect size for our family of three. It was the perfect size and after having six days of travel under our belt it was great to have a comfy couch and TV to hang out for a few hours. First the house - Very clean. Kitchen a great size. We didn't end up cooking but used the kitchen for quick breakfast and snacks. Beds were comfy. Towels were super fluffy.

We stayed in the cottage for a few nights while in Waimea. This place is a great home base for hiking as well as being right across the street from the black sand beach of Waimea. The cottage was beautifully updated on the inside, clean, and had all the amenities. The outdoor space in the backyard was especially enjoyable. Highly recommend this place and destination Kauai (great communication and details!!) for a stay on the west side.

This piece of property had everything you could image. Attention to detail. Would highly recommend it. Just a note. The button for overhead shower was not that obvious. And truly that is my only negative thing to say. Adorable place.

May 2022
The cottage was well organized, clean and very convenient to accessing the Waimea Canyon. It was walking distance to a great restaurant and grocery store. I am sensitive to scent though so the a plug in air freshener was overwhelming and hard to air out the smell. Also the place would get very hot during the day as we left the a/c off when we were out. Finally we did see bugs on the kitchen counter which meant fastidious monitoring of any food preparation. But it was a nice place overall.

We stayed here for 5 nights on our honeymoon while we explored the island! The town is a local, chill town - perfect to escape the crowded resorts and tourists. We spent a lot of time in Waimea and Koke’e state parks, and this was the perfect location to do so. The beach across the street is beautiful, although it is not advised to swim in. Perfect for morning and sunset walks and so convenient to have so close by. The property is very well maintained, stocked kitchen, and plenty of space with a beautiful and private back patio. The Wrangler Steakhouse which is a short walk away, was the hot spot in the town at night, and we enjoyed making friends with the bartender! Gina’s Anytime is amazing for a quick breakfast and coffee. 10/10 would stay here again.

It was truly hard to put the keys back and leave this little charmer in Waimea. We fell in love with every square inch of this beautifully remodeled cottage. If you want to feel like you are part of Kauai, this is the place to stay. We've done the fancy resorts with their overpriced cocktails and crowded beaches, and while they have their place, we've found that we'd rather meet the people who live on the island, those who call this magnificent place home and those who want to share their culture with others. For that type of experience, we'd recommend staying in Waimea where your neighbors aren't tourists. This cottage is clean and well appointed. The beds are comfy, towels are fluffy and you'll find everything you need to cook a gourmet meal, or bbq in the STUNNINGLY landscaped backyard. It's an older home, so you must like quirky details, like claw foot tubs and hardwood floors. The beach is a 30 second walk and in a week's stay, we only say one other person out there. You can see the water from the front porch and hear the waves from your bedroom window. If you're coming for a relaxing vacation, you will definitely find it here! If you are an explorer, this place is perfect situated for a short drive to Poipu or Waimea Canyon and more! There are groceries within walking distance and plenty of restaurants too. WE WILL ABSOLUTELY BE BACK NEXT YEAR!

April 2022
We were very comfortable here for a week. Waimea is not a resort town but its on the wai to Waimea canyon so there are a few shops open during the day for tourists. The beach is close but it's a little muddy because of the Waimea river a few blocks away. Its nice to sit on the porch and hear the surf. Its mostly quiet except for the roosters and some parties nearby on the weekend. The cottage had everything we needed and it felt like home after a few days.

April 2022
Wonderfully cozy and perfect — we had four fabulous days and nights in this charming little cottage. The main space was a little smaller than it looked in the pictures, but that was perfect for us. Incredibly clean — including under beds, which I get to see because I do PT exercises on the floor ;-). Kitchen was incredibly well-stocked for at home cooking. Outdoor hang space in the backyard was peaceful and perfect for cocktail hour on the night that the sun was not going to be seen setting. Also, lounging on the couch right by the open windows, listening to rain but being warm and cozy and dry inside was perfect for the one full rainy day. The fancy beach chairs really spoiled us and now we will be searching for some to use at home! We will definitely think about staying again at this cottage the next time we are headed to the west end of Kauai. If only there were a way to train the neighbor roosters that they should not crow until sunrise, everything would be 100% perfect ;-),

What a special property. We were pleasantly surprised to find an outdoor tub and shower and beautiful backyard with everything you need. Amazing attention to detail in renovating the property. We couldn't figure out how to turn off the backlight which seemed to keep the nearby roosters crowing all night long, but we loved this property and neighborhood. Everything you need for a great holiday. We were so busy exploring the island that we didn't get to spend near enough time enjoying it. Great property and great service.

Having in-laws who used to live on the big island; this was very much like when we'd go visit them at their home in the Hilo area. Authentic small-town Hawaiian vibe. Exactly what we were looking for, and the cottage has literally everything you need to feel like you're "living" in Waimea for however long your stay may be. Of course the classic Disney-esque resort vibe (and beaches) can easily be found an easy half-hour drive towards Lihue, if so desired. We absolutely loved our stay at the Waimea Beach Cottage and definitely plan to return to Kauai as soon as we can.

February 2022
I will start off by saying the cottage is very nicely updated and you can tell a lot of effort went into making it a nice place to stay. And, we did work out our issues with the property manager and they were nice enough to give us a refund for the third night we did not stay. A word of warning - the roosters next door will crow quite often and it won’t be the most relaxing stay if you are bothered by this. We also weren’t notified the A/C in the living room wasn’t working and would have appreciated a heads up.

A very clean and well-provisioned house less than 100 yards from the beach in Waimea. Located between the Waimea Pier and the river. A most pleasant stay!

February 2022
Was a very cute, recently upgraded cottage! Lots of appliances and home/beach supplies to make your stay convenient. Walking distance to a black sand beach for watching the sunset. Also close to great local food. Was not happy the main wall a/c was broken all week making afternoons/evenings hot. With afternoon sun hitting the kitchen/living space. Was too hot to cook so we ate out more than planned. But bedroom had wall a/c so we slept well, it just wasn’t enough to cool the whole house.

We really enjoyed our stay in Kauai, very easy to get to stores and great steakhouse right next door, just had a hard time with the noise from the roosters, never got to sleep in, they caw all day and night. Other than that the house was beautiful and well maintained.

Waimea Beach Cottage was the most ideal place to spend the Christmas holidays. The location itself, close to restaurants, shopping, and the ocean (along with being on the dry side of the island during rainy season on other parts of the island) was topped by the incredibly clean and thoughtfully appointed and beautifully decorated vacation home. The pictures do not even do justice to the large and lush backyard, comfortable and stylish furnishings, high quality linens, and fully equipped kitchen. Our picky teenager selected the cottage as one of the highlights of our 11 days on Kauai--liking it to something she'd see on HGTV. The management team was proactive in making sure we were aware of Hawaii travel requirements and reached out to make sure we had everything we needed for a great stay. We cannot wait to return!

Really quaint, fresh decor and paint, easy to follow instructions, located in local Waimea neighborhood--feel like a local. Would stay again!

The place is very clean, and located in the small, bare-bones town if Waimea. The place is very well stocked, with beach chairs, hiking equipment, beach towels, kitchen equipment, etc. AC in every room, if you ned it. The place is highly tecommended. However, it does not make explicit that the nice backyard and laudry facilities require you to exit the house through one if two front doors, and go around the back. This isn’t a huge deal, but the listing isn’t transparent about that. If you aren’t comfortable leaving the front door unlocked, it means you need to lock/unlock when you go into the back yard. It also means that if there are heavy rains (which happens occasionally) there isn’t a direct, dry oath ti the laudry. Again, this isn’t a deal breaker and doesn’t take much away from the niceness of the cottage, but it isn’t made explicit bu the owners. That’s a shame, because it automatically registers as a “bad” surprise when you get there. Hust be aware.

We really enjoyed our stay at this cottage. The updates were great and property was extremely well kept. For travelers with young children, you should be aware the neighborhood isn’t the quietest as there is a restaurant and bar next door that is very popular. It didn’t last too late but the fenced backyard was a great offset. Definitely appreciative of the hosts!

Our family felt at home in this space and enjoyed walking to the beach and local restaruants. The outdoor shower/tub and beautiful backyard were an added luxery! We would definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed staying at the cottage. We stayed a month and enjoyed every day there. Everything is as advertised. The cottage is the most well equipped rental we have ever stayed in. I highly recommend it.

The cottage is very well equipped and decorated. Kitchen has everything you need and beds are very comfortable. The back yard is great for relaxing. Love the very short walk to Wrangler's Steakhouse (which also has excellent sushi) and Ishihara Market. Great to be able to come down the hill after a long day of hiking and have everything we need right here within walking distance. We would most certainly stay here again. Thanks for the great accomodations!

Our family really enjoyed our stay here. The cottage was extremely clean, charmingly decorated, and well maintained. Everything you could possibly need was provided. In the kitchen, there were utensils galore, tea, sugar, even a rice cooker. For a day at the beach, there were beach towels, beach mats, folding chairs, basic snorkeling equipment, umbrellas. There were even telescoping hiking poles for the requisite trip to Waimea Canyon. It was also great to have access to a washer and dryer. Definitely the best-stocked vacation rental we've ever stayed at. Location-wise, the cottage is an easy drive to Waimea Canyon to the west and to Hanapepe (for sushi and Japanese Grandma's Cafe) to the east. From the cottage, we really liked being able to walk to Ishihara Market, where you can pick up fantastic poke. (Our favorite was the shoyu ahi tuna with a scoop of rice for under $10.) Other nearby food places that were great were the Mama Bear Kitchen Kauai for a Filipino breakfast of garlic fried rice with a perfectly fried egg and Da Java Hut for lattes. As other reviewers have noted, the beach is not a place where you can swim or just hang out, and the restaurant nearby, as well as the neighbors' music, meant that it was a bit noisy as late as 10 pm, but we were so tired from our outings that we were still able to fall asleep.

We loved staying here! Beside having all the comforts of home ready for us, the location was excellent! The home was sparkling clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay and more. We really enjoyed the outdoor shower and hammock in the backyard. We walked to the beach, to the market, to shops. It was so convenient. Would and have recommended this place to anyone and everyone.

We loved staying at the Waimea cottage! Check in was easy and the cottage is nice and clean and cozy. Being right next to the beach and the pier was a huge plus — especially for watching the sunrise and sunset. The cottage is within walking distance of restaurants and grocery stores as well. The backyard is beautiful, the kitchen is great, and having beach chairs and umbrellas was awesome.

We really enjoyed our stay. The place was very clean and the beds were comfy. Had everything we needed for a trip to the beach. Enjoyed the outside space. Walking distance to Jojo’s shave ice, Aloha in Paradise (excellent coffee) and many other places to eat, including Wranglers Steakhouse which was really good. We walked on the black sand beach and enjoyed the ocean. Would come back!!!

This cottage is very well put together and newly renovated. It has everything you need from beach towels to hiking poles to kitchen supplies. It’s location to the little downtown area is just a few minutes walking. The one downside is that it only has one bathroom. This worked great for my husband and I but if you plan to have 4 people stay, it might feel a bit cramped. If we stay in Waimea again, we’ll definitely be booking this place next time as well.

Cottage was very clean, comfortable and well appointed. We enjoyed the AC and the use of the outdoor shower, hammock and grill in the backyard. It was nice to be right in the heart of Waimea with easy access to grocery, restaurants and shave ice. One thing to highlight is that the beach down the street is not a swimming beach and the closest swimming beach (Salt pond) was closed during our stay. As a result, we ended up driving 30 min to Poipu beach park on our beach days. Not a deal breaker, but worth consideration depending on what you’re looking for in your Hawaii experience. One of the guidebooks at the house described Waimea as isolated and remote and we found this to be pretty spot on. All in all, would recommend and would stay again.

We loved our stay at the Waimea Beach Cottage! It was hard to choose between a relaxing day at the house and the all adventures that are so close by. We squeezed it all in and will be back for more.

This was a great spot, perfect to come back home to after a day out enjoying the island. I walked to the beach with my coffee every morning, and I can hardly even call it a walk you are RIGHT there.

Perfect spot! House is adorable, well maintained and very well stocked with kitchen supplies, beach gear and games. Love sleepy Waimea and the black sands beach just across the street!!

This is a great property! Not many available on the Waimea side. Cozy back yard and outside shower were nice!! It's right by the beach. But the beaches you'll want to go to you'll need to drive a short distance. Totally worth it!!! The best most isolated beaches are on this side! Cottage is very cute and the setting was quite and nice! It has AC!!! Giant plus for me!! You can tell they have done a lot of work to the pace and it's very nice!! Love the claw foot tube! The owner was very easy to work with and very responsive! So much to do here! But for sure don't miss the Napali coast tour! @goblueadveture.com And don't miss the Poke at Ishiarras.....it's like a block away and it's amazing!! Totally gonna stay here again! Thanks Mark!!
