The resort property is well maintained, quiet, and beautiful. The staff was friendly. We loved having breakfast on the porch every morning listening to the waves and watching the misty rain. Snorkeling gear was provided and Tunnels Beach was close. Absolutely wonderful.

Our stay was everything we hoped for. The view was fantastic, and the unit was nice and well-stocked with cooking supplies and recreational gear. We swam at the beach just west of the complex, it was safe in most conditions and there was some nice coral. Dinner at the Opakapaka was great. We have real affection for this place now and hope to return sometime.

Phenomenal location and beautiful condo! Spacious, great floor plan (the “rooms” are on opposite sides), plenty of sitting room all with direct views of the ocean. The kitchen was well stocked for a family that likes to cook. Plenty of towels and a ton of beach equipment for our family of three. Ashley quick walk to the beach area to the left, was better snorkeling than Tunnels Beach. Hanalei Bay is about a 10 minute drive and it had fantastic food, shopping, lots of boutiques, and plenty of rentals for the day. Others commented that the condo was outdated. It was one of the original resorts on that end of the island. I’m thankful it hasn’t been updated to today’s modern style. I would lose the local island charm, and the prices would double! They only updates that would be nice. Would be new beach chairs. But you can rent Tommy Bahamas from one of the shops in Hanalei for four dollars a day.

We loved this open-air unit on the North Shore. It was well-equipped with all the beach items one would need as well as many kitchen necessities. The bed was soft and the the bathrooms clean. The room is so light and bright, and it was a great spot to watch those colorful sunrises!Please note that the beach directly in front of the place is not a "swimmable" beach with lots of rocks and strong waves. However, you can get wet to your ankles, if you choose. :) But the pool, hot tub, outdoor kitchen, and garden area is quite lovely. It's all about location when on vacation, and this was a great spot to access the Napali Coast for hiking and beaching it, and go to Hanalei for food and essentials. We had read reviews about it being outdated, but I don't think so. It's what we imagine Hawaii should be. We didn't miss the TV or air conditioning at all and our Wifi was fine. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a great place to rest and a more authentic Hawaiian experience.

Incredible views from the balcony/ deck overlooking the Pacific Ocean!!! Fantastic location with close proximity to Tunnels Beach, Haena SP, Napali SP, and the town of Hanalei. Beautiful resort property with a restaurant as well as a massage therapist within a 1 minute walk. We had a beachside couples massage that was AMAZING!!!!

Overall we enjoyed the condo . A storm came in and we lost power off and on which made it difficult to cook or charge phones. Also the condo is remote and so there were concerns we could be stranded if bridge went out. The remoteness also made it nice because there were no crowds or lines. Just know that to get to a town it’s an15 min drove.

Awesome spot right next to the waves. If you're not into salt spray or the sound of the ocean, you might go elsewhere, but there's no better complex on the northshore if you want to get close to the ocean action. Staff was helpful in the check-in process, and we didn't need anything during our stay. The louver dividers and kitchen bar could use some attention, but it must be a chore to stay ahead of the salt in the air from being so close to the surf. Would strongly recommend, and would stay again!

The units are comfortable and dated. Our unit was clean and also difficult to see out windows due to humidity, and salt build up (which I imagine is difficult to combat due to location). We enjoyed our stay but would be unlikely to return to this location.

Great stay, amazing location. All the negative previous reviews have been addressed. Furniture updated, well equipped kitchen, comfy bed and linen. Property staff was friendly. As clearly stated- no tv and no a/c. It’s important to know, but there is always a breeze. There is a free shuttle not available to you since the unit is not managed by the insight manager. Unit is set back on the water, so review the map if you are arriving at night (we wandered around for a long time very late at night) Overall, great stay and would love to go back again.

A stunningly beautiful spot right on the beach. Woke up to the most amazing sunrises each morning. Walked for miles along the shore each day..this is a place that is simple and quite breathtaking. The accomodation had really patchy wifi, no tv, no aircon and no dishwasher but none of that mattered because it was such an opportunity to unplug and just watch the beauty around you. Beds were comfortable, place was spotless and the restaurant on the property was fabulous. Hosts were wonderfully responsive and we had a fantastic few days.

I stay on the north shore once a year. This was a wonderful location I haven't tried before but really enjoyed. Access to the beach was wonderful. The Kalalau trail is my favorite and very nearby. And the restaurant/bar is great for no necessary designated driver! Ha! The team was very easy to communicate with and the space was great!

We had the most wonderful vacation and stay at Hanalei Colony! It has everything you need without having to go anywhere, yet close to Hanalei bay and tunnels. The pool must have been recently done because the facility was so clean, new and my kids loved taking a beach break and swimming here! We especially loved the resort cat, Leo, who greeted us and gave my kids some love while missing their animals at home. We will rent here every summer in the future!

It is advertised as 2 bedroom 2 bath. The reality is that it is 1 bedroom with a queen bed and another room with a pull out sofa plus 1 1/2 baths.
Otherwise the second floor condo has a beautiful view of the ocean, it is quite a walk from the parking lot to the condo but they do have wagons to use to move you stuff from the car to the unit. the condo was well equipped with kitchen items and boogie boards. The pool area beautiful!

The frying pans are old and unhealthy ( old scratched Teflon). Please replace them. There is no cutting board but I didn't use your bar top for one. Only choice was the tile ( will dull the knives).The front right burner does not work.
The king bed was comfortable and the location lovely for sitting on the deck. If this was my property, I'd clean the mold off the deck and repaint it:) please be aware that the bathroom light in the small bathroom shines in the eyes of sleeping guests across the yard!! They told us:) So tell others to keep it off when they aren't using it.

The second floor, Waterview unit is in a wonderful location on the island and amenities on the grounds, such as a decent restaurant, and a wonderful little pool and hot tub make it a great place to stay. There are just a few things that keep it from being awesome, including dull knives and Windows that haven’t been cleaned or are so covered in salt that it spoils the view. I would still totally recommend it but if you’re looking for 5 star, this isn’t it.

Overall, the property and location were wonderful, although some of the furnishings were old and a bit dingy. My friend and I took very good care to leave the property as we found it, but were hit with a charge for a stained sheet after checking out. Not only was this done without prior notification, but we did not leave stains on anything we used during our stay. This leaves a very bad taste in my mouth, especially after the ultra high cleaning fees attached to my stay. I intend to dispute the charge and will hesitate to rent from this property owner in the future.

While the location is amazing the main bed was not comfortable and didn’t have sheets that fit - we contacted Kauai kahuna and they had house keeping bring in sheets that were the size needed. All towels were old and most stained. The kitchen was so cluttered there wasn’t room for our food, I re-organized to make some room but felt they could clean out about half of the small appliances and old gadgets to make space for people to settle in. On a positive it was a very clean unit and decorated nicely. The location couldn’t be better.

J3 is a second floor apartment with a view of the ocean and the sunrise. It has constant trade winds and the sound of the surf. The resort is low key, quiet, safe and has basic amenities. The staff at the office and at the on site restaurant were very friendly and helpful. Parking is easy and secure. The location is what makes it so amazing - you are near several gorgeous beaches and minutes from Hanalei. I gave it four stars on condition of property just because there were a couple of small items that need to be addressed.

We really enjoyed our stay in this wonderful condo adjacent to the beach. We loved the secluded, away-from-the-hub-bub Hanalei Colony resort reminding us of the old Hawaii. Highly recommended for couples, families, anyone needing a restful vacation in an idyllic garden spot. The only reason we did not give this 5 stars was due to the unit not being cleaned and ready upon our checkin ... however, the property manager quickly apologized, rectified the situation, and compensated us for the delay.

It was perfect for my adult son and his friends. There were four boogie boards left on balcony as well as snorkel gear, masks and a small cooler. It had everything they needed to enjoy a wonderful vacation. It is close to haena and tunnels beaches and they really enjoyed Lumaha’i beach where the river and ocean meet. They enjoyed jumping off the bridge and rope swings into the river. At this beach. The condo had everything they needed.

We had a wonderful week. Love the ocean views and the proximity to the small beach, Kepuhi. Highly recommend the nearby Limahuli botanical gardens. The condo is well-equipped. (Some tiny issues with the bedside lamps and the curtains to the lanai. These are minor.) Came home with mild Covid, probably from our one night at a bar in Hanalei. Get vaxed and wear your mask.
