Unwind in our charming 600 sq ft studio on a tranquil 12-acre organic hobby fruit farm. Enjoy stunning views, privacy, and easy access to nearby beaches, dining, and the airport. Ideal for couples, solo travelers, business professionals, and families seeking a cozy and peaceful getaway.

Our clean, well-maintained studio features brick and stucco walls, tile floors, and high-beam ceilings. Open the sliding doors to step into our expansive grounds, where nature thrives. On the ocean side, a 50-acre forest provides seclusion, while a seasonal stream flows through a gulch from Haleakala to the ocean near Jaws, one of the world’s premier surfing spots. Neighboring properties are equally tranquil, and quiet East Kuiaha Road ensures peace.

Note: We embrace wildlife and insects as vital to our ecosystem. While we strive to keep them out of the studio, you may encounter geckos or other critters. We minimize their presence in the studio but cannot eliminate them entirely. For a manicured, pest-controlled environment, consider a South Shore resort.

The Neighborhood

Despite its secluded setting, Mana Aina is just a 6-minute drive from excellent restaurants and grocery stores. For organic and healthy options, visit Mana Foods in Paia (10 minutes away) or the Pauwela Cannery for casual breakfast or lunch. The Haiku Cannery offers diverse dining, including Nuka Sushi, Colleen’s Restaurant (burgers, pizza, and more), Vegout for vegetarian fare, and Maui Kombucha Bar. Don’t miss Ahonui Plant-Based Cafe’s food truck at 111 Stable Road, Paia.

Adventure awaits nearby

Wave Season: Witness massive waves at Jaws.
Outdoor Activities: Hike the Makawao Forest, zip-line at Piiholo Ranch, or explore Iao Valley’s streams and pools.
Beaches: Relax at Hookipa Beach Park, Paia Bay, Baldwin Beach Park, Baby Beach, or Kanaha Beach Park.
Culture & Shopping: Stroll Makawao Town for sandwiches at Casanova’s or shop in Paia near Mana Foods.
Hidden Gems: Discover Haleakala volcano, Twin Falls, Poli Poli, Kula, or the Commando Hike.
We’re happy to share more recommendations during your stay!

This is the second time I have stayed at this property. I had such a wonderful experience last year that I sought out this property again to stay this year. It is a tranquil, relaxing property with spacious, clean rooms and many amenities. Alejandro is a very responsive and attentive host. I was just as pleased with my stay this year.

Awesome stay, the rental is always very clean and quiet, the farm is a wonderful and charming place and great location, 15min from Paia and great beaches, also easy to drive to Hana or Waimea for the day (45min max). The host is wonderful and answered our needs. Warmly recommended !

It is nice to stay on the north shore, away from the hustle and bustle. Surrounded by nature; trees, sky and birds on this piece of land are a nice retreat from exploring the rest of the island, traffic, etc. The property is well kept and the units are always clean and orderly. If you need something Alahandro is always willing to get it for you.

Loved the property and owners, such a beautiful peaceful place. The only trouble we had was with the vrbo app, wouldn’t load for us to access the address and checkin instructions. Once we were in and had access to Wi-Fi, it still wouldn’t load but was able to access through web browser.

The place was beautiful and green and quiet. We utilized this place for breakfast/dinner and sleeping and spent our days on the road to Hana and exploring Maui. It wasn’t far from the road to Hana but far enough away from the touristy area to offer peace and relaxation. Host was responsive and helpful. Great to have full kitchen with cookware and table settings. Plus nice to have laundry available. Bed was very cozy. We enjoyed our stay very much.

The property is gorgeous and the location is handy enough. It is ideal if you are looking for peace and quiet. The owner was responsive to our messages but unable to fulfill our requests. If you intend to eat in as we did, the kitchen is very basic e.g. no big bowl for fruit, no storage containers, no measuring cups, and a very basic coffee maker. The tap water tastes strongly of chlorine and the filter appeared to need to be changed. Our main suggestion would be to improve the kitchen facilities and perhaps to provide a map and some information on things to do/places to go. Finally, in a place this expensive, it was a bit much to have to take care of our garbage and recycling.

We were looking for a quiet place to serve as home base while we explored Haleakala, the upcountry and the road to Hana. This place fit our needs perfectly. We also very much appreciated how easy it was to communicate with the property manager. He seems experienced. Everything went exceedingly smoothly. Thanks so much.

We really enjoyed our stay at this place. Large enough for our family of 5, very quiet, we got to enjoy mornings and evening listening to bird songs instead of the busy streets of resort areas. While being recluse in the upcountry, the place is still within 15-20 min drive to the coast (Paia) for beach days or road to Hana excursions. Host was excellent to deal with, very reactive to our needs and requests. Really recommend this place !

This property is in Haiku is pretty. We drove into Haiku from Hana and arrived in the evening . We had our 1 year old daughter and 5 year old and it was our wedding anniversary. Originally it wasn’t a seamless nor Instant process to book this property. I initially booked a specific room that was i felt was more appropriate and large enough for my family. But Alejandro changed my room res and told me he had another room that was better for us..and made me pay and additional fee due to us being a party of 4. But the property is listed at a for 4 guests. However i paid it. When we arrived at Alejandros property we arrived at a locked gate. My reception was very bad as in the description but I was able to snap shot the directions. I did not see the part about the gate in all of the detailed description provided and needed to call Alejandro for access . He did answer the phone told me he wasn’t there yet and he gave me the code to get in. When we arrived we were able to find our quarters but I was a little taken aback that our room had a ladder to private loft up top and totally unsafe for our 1 year old that i paid extra to stay with us. The room was decorated and clean and quaint but not really appropriate or what i originally wanted and needed for my family’s stay. My 5 year old Ofcourse loved her hideaway in the loft but the windows in that loft area did not close we were a bit concerned as the first night as it was very windy and quite chilly . We were pretty flustered already from our long road trip from Hana and having to stay on schedule with family. I did not bother further about it. I did meet Alejandro briefly that first night while we were leaving , we were apparently in the wrong parking area . But that was it! After our first night i never heard back from him again! Ever time i contacted him he ignored my call. If i messaged him no response. I’m very sensitive about paying for a service and reading reviews about a particular service and then not being provided with that same particular service or even receiving a response from .the owner or landlord. Anyway, i hope it wasn’t a cultural-bias type thing. The towels were a bit stinky and needed to be washed. The detachable shower head did fall on my head, slight bruise but I’ll be ok. Thank goodness we knew family out there who were responsive because if i we were out there alone and tried to rely on the owner for any information, we would have been out of luck. But pretty property

We wanted a noise-free, secluded getaway for our anniversary, and this met all our expectations. The rental studios are on a beautiful, gated 12-acre property surrounded by forest. Yet it's only about 10 minutes to several great Haiku & Makawao restaurants, and 15 minutes to the beach & the awesome town of Pa'ia. We even met the owner (an acclaimed abstract artist) and his friendly dog. If you hate touristy spots, this is the place for you. Can't wait to stay here again someday!

This is an off the beaten path, relaxing rental that will reset your level of calm every time you take the drive in. Set in a jungle microclimate, clean, natural and relaxing. Not a single negative thing on our 5 night stay. Detailed instructions for the property, quick host response, friendly.
