We love the location of the Kona Reef. The condo exceeded our expectations. The owners have really paid attention to detail. They have also provided a brand new stacked washer dryer in the unit which works amazing. The property mgmt company, Knutson & Associates, answered all of our questions immediately which was great. I wanted to cook something but noticed there was no large frying pan. I texted them to let them know. When we got home there was a brand new box of cookware at the door. My husband and I were so impressed. The location and the view are unbeatable you can walk to town if you want but it’s all about the VIEW!!!!!! Sitting on the Lanai every night with a cocktail enjoying sunset it just can’t get any more beautiful and relaxing. The living room furniture is very comfortable. We appreciated the big TV in the living room and in the bedroom and the bed was very comfy. We really couldn’t have asked for anything more. It was really perfect!!!! We can’t wait to return to Kona and we will definitely go through Knutson & Associates and stay in unit D 17.

We had a wonderful stay at Kona Reef D17 in August 2023! The highlight of this well-accommodated, clean condo is the lanai at the ocean's edge. We changed our busy itinerary to just sit and enjoy. We had questions during our stay and Knutson was very responsive. The condo is just a block's walk from restaurants and shopping of Kona. We didn't use the pool, but it looked lovely and had the ocean view as well. We will rebook this condo when we return to the Big Island!

Condo had everything we needed - kitchen was well stocked, 2 beach chairs, and a small cooler and umbrella for the beach. It was just a short walk into downtown Kona for shopping and restaurants. We also enjoyed the beautiful sunsets on the lanai!

We loved sitting on the lanai each morning and watching the surfers! The location is fantastic — walking distance to a small sandy beach park (where the boogie board was invented) and walking distance to many great restaurants (favorites: Lava Java, Quinn’s, Huggo’s). The communication about payment was good and the coded key-pad access made checkin contactless and simple.

The view from this condo's lanai is spectacular, assuming you like palm trees and the Pacific Ocean. The kitchen is quite functional and well stocked. The bed is very comfortable. We ran the bedroom AC at night, which worked well; we didn't try to cool the entire unit - much nicer to listen to the waves. The only downside is that all of the pictures were removed by the former owner (except one, and I understand why they left that one behind.) There are nails and screws sticking out of the walls where the pictures used to be. It gave the impression of walking into a dorm room, though one with a great view!

The location of this property can't be beat. Close to shopping, beaches and restaurants. Quiet property with nice pool as well. The view from the lanai is stunning and just never gets old - front row seats for the beautiful sunsets.

What can we say other than this was one of our best getaways. From the very beginning our hosts were excellent to work with. The unit is in great shape and the view spectacular. Our hosts reached out to us when we were there and helped with ideas for things to do and sights to see. We were exceptionally lucky in that the Volcano erupted and we were able to do a fly over.
The unit itself is beautifully finished and in great shape. Everything we needed to cook or bbq was there. The view from the lanai was amazing and we enjoyed appys and drinks every evening watching the sun go down.
The grounds and pool area are well maintained. The bbq area was a great place to cook and meet other guests not to mention well equipped with 4 large bbq’s.
All and all it was definitely one of our better getaways and we will hopefully be returning again next season.
Thank you again to our hosts for the opportunity to rent their amazing property and for all the little perks that made this trip so special.

The condo was AMAZING! There was every amenity you can think of (besides your usuals)… beach chairs, umbrella, two size coolers to use plus other items for the water). We had the absolute nicest time and feel this condo was in the perfect spot for what we wanted. We LOVED the lanai and watching the waves. We spent SO much time out there. The condo was clean and was the perfect size for us to relax and enjoy our first trip to Hawaii. We were able to walk to town within minutes to eat or grab a drink. We are sad to have to leave!

This is a beautiful upgraded condo with a lanai that overlooks the breaking surf. You'll be tempted to spend all day on the lanai watching the surf and listening to the ocean, but there is so much to do in and around Kona. You will love staying here.
This condo also includes everything you'll need to go to the beach: beach chairs, beach umbrella, ice chest, boogie boards, snorkel masks and fins, and even binoculars.

This is a very well equipped unit with a fantastic ocean-front location, just a short walk to On the Rocks for Happy Hour. The AC unit is extremely quiet and efficient. As many have noted, the bed may be a bit high but is a King and very comfortable. Most importantly, Michele and Brian were really helpful and accomodatimg when we needed to change our check-in time to match our check out of another unit at the Kona Reef. They also delivered a second pool key within a couple of hours. You will be very happy booking this unit.

My wife and I have rented many beachfront condos, and this is a bit different than most because it is wider and more spacious. It is not overly cluttered either, making it much easier to live in for a week. Great location, within walking distance of many restaurants and activity in downtown Kailua.

Our 3 1/2 week stay went by super fast! The owners were wonderful to work with even taking time to answer a question while they were on vacation! Saw many beautiful sunsets from the lanai and met some nice guests. If we return to the Big Island again we will stay at this condo!

This Kona Reef condo could not have been a better choice for our stay! The view while hanging out in the living room and relaxing on the lanai was exactly as shown and we enjoyed every minute of it. Right on the ocean! The condo was clean, well stocked and had a comfortable modern feel. We appreciated the comfortable bed and pillows as well. The location can't be beat as well! It is a short walk down a road to the cute little Kona town (use the lower road closer to the ocean that passes hotels, it takes you right into downtown. We accidentally wandered to the upper much busier Ali'i Drive road the first night not realizing the lower road was accessible:) The location is only a 20 minute drive to Captain Cook the Greenwell coffee Farm tour and a little longer drive down to Kealakekua Bay. Michele was extremely responsive in all things we inquired about and we are very grateful for all of her help. This rental is a winner!

This a an amazing trip for my husband and myself without the kiddos. We were able to relax and enjoy the waves crashing all the while in the air conditioned room. The hosts were checking in and quick to message back when I had questions about the island. We have been to the islands before and across the US and used VRBO. This rental was one of the best by far.
