The property was just as advertised with a remodeled kitchen, vinyl floors and many items in the closet for use such as beach chairs and an ice cooler. It was a real convenience to be able to walk to town which was just a couple of blocks away for shopping and restaurants. The unit had a great air conditioner and the kition was well stocked. It was great to have a washer/dryer to use. The neighborhood was very quiet.
Now for the down side. The bedroom was a great disappointment! The carpet was very dirty (photos sent to management company), the foam pad on top of the mattress made the bed less comfortable in my opinion, and the linens were either old or of poor quality. Aside from the bedroom issues, the parking structure was undergoing a huge construction project to repair cracking and spalling in the top deck. The top deck parking was closed and the underground portion was a maze due to the huge jacks being used to shore up the upper deck. When I asked the management company about this they seemed completely unaware it was going on.

I had stayed in different condos in Kona Plaza in earlier years. I was sad to see how it had aged.
Our condo was in need of upgrades:

clean.large screened in lanai w/ comfy futon.easy access via elevator.underground parking kept the car cool - nice feature.residents and visitors alike were very nice.2 sky decks were great for bbq and watching the parade - great vantage point.great central location to town - everything is walkablein unit washer/dryer and dishwasher is a nice bonus.kitchen had most everything needed and starter pack of coffee and filters was nice.Air conditioning and fans kept the unit cool.Would stay again. Priced accordingly for location and amenities.pool was not usable due to regulation issue, but ocean is a block away.street address/directions misleading to enter the complex and parking. you actually go down hanama place until it dead ends into the parking deck of the complex - you don't actually need to turn onto Alii with a vehicle. Easy enough if you know the area a bit. there is pedestrian access out to Alii via the parking garage or stairs from main parking deck level so you don't have to walk around the building/block to get to the main drag. just don't forget your key that opens the door access. your key also gives you access to the underground parking via the elevator.if you are a light sleeper you might want to use ear plugs on Sunday as the church bell next door does ring for services.no real dedicated workspace, but the kitchen table worked out fine and internet was fast and solid the entire stay.

Unit is lovely and well put together along with great amenities. However th pool being closed indefinitely was a huge disappointment and was not indicated upon rental. We would love to return once the pool is fixed.

This is the second time we’ve stayed in this unit, 3rd time in this complex. We love the location, within walking distance to all of downtown Kona and beach access. The property isn’t luxurious, but it’s clean, and has everything we need for a comfortable, convenient, and fun stay on our favorite island. Mahalo!

Located in the heart of restaurants and shopping so could walk which was wonderful!! The condo was well supplied and clean, but really does need a new mattress.. washer and dryer in the unit was very useful! Would stay again!!
