We were disappointed in our location onthe property. We would not come again unless we were in bldgs.3, 5,6, or 7. My friend and mysef are both 85 y.o. and being removed from the lovely walkway, grass and gardens was very disappointing. Then being locked out of our unit with all our belongings after special arrangements having been made was very upsetting. We spoke to a representative of maui rentalgrou last Wednesday or Thursday, in plenty of time,as our flight is not until midnite.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 weeks and it was the perfect condo for us. We had a rental car but ended up walking mostly because everything is so close. Beach 3 is right across the road and to us it was one of the best beaches.

This property was clean and in such a wonderful area. The town is super laid back and there is so many food places right on the street within walking distance! Property was perfect size for me and my husband!

Waiting for property management as we had to leave 5 days into our stay due to virus. Government was asking all citizens to come home. Everything in Maui was also closing down so we where limited. Beaches were closed etc.

Pros -location is great, court yard and pool area lovely, concierge services were very good, front desk was very efficient. Air conditioner worked well Cons- old stained sheets, soiled rugs, Lani onto a busy street, rundown, I understand it is for sale, even scoured a frying pan that was in the cupboard dirty, light bulbs out, master tub drains very slowly, toilet doesn’t flush properly, walls needed washing, dishwasher upper rack hard to move, lani was grimy.

The Condo was clean and easy to access. We enjoyed staying at this property site. Everything was wonderful in the condo. The Bed was extremely comfortable. They had snorkel gear, sand chairs and coolers to take to the beach. I enjoyed having a washer and dryer. This Condo is amazing.

We were in Maui 8 times and this the only time we were not satisfied. We ask for late checkout and it was impossible. We go 8 times a year for travel and lake checkout is always possible. I have to inform my traveling friends to stay from booking with your company.

We had a great time staying at this property. It was exactly what we needed for our vacation: large sized living room, full kitchen, balcony, bbqs, close to the beach and easy access to restaurants, groceries stores and more. I would happily stay again!

I enjoyed this condo but there was alot of construction noise going on each day, including the weekend, which made my time on Maui disappointing. I understand that these things may take place, but it lasted most of the day, each day, that and the sound of road traffic, resulted in me keeping the lanai doors closed all the time.

To summarize, I would stay here again and would recommend the place to others. The details: Positives: The grounds and pool area are very nice and very well maintained. The location is recommended for anyone who wants to stay in the Kihei area -- across the street from Kam III beach and great sunsets. There's 24-hour security. The check-in process is clean and simple: the management company send you an email with all the info and a code for getting into the unit. The complex itself seems populated mostly by vacationing families. No party animals while we were there. You get an assigned reserved parking space. (Ours was occupied when we got there, but the onsite office straightened that out.) The building has its own grilling area, with two nice, clean grills. The unit was generally clean (see exception below). Nice, spacious patio with good furniture and seating for six. There's a closet on the patio where beach stuff is stored -- chairs, cooler, snorkel equipment, etc. (although the umbrella needs to be replaced). The other furniture throughout the unit was in good condition. Having 2 bathrooms was a plus when you're trying to get ready to go out. There are separate AC units in the bedroom and living room. We really didn't need them in December, and can't comment on them. Negatives and so-so's: The bathrooms are clean and serviceable but need some updating, especially the MB. The porcelain on the tub was chipped in a few spots and rusting. There's some moderate noise from traffic on a road that runs aside the unit. Not terrible or constant, but it's there ( but it doesn't affect sleep). Some of pans in the kitchen need to be replaced. Not sure which, but either the tile floor or the rug in the living room needed cleaning. That was evidenced because (as requested by owner) we walked around barefoot and soon noticed that the bottoms of our feet got grungy. I'm guessing the rug needs to be shampooed or the cleaners need to do a better job on the tile floor. Summary: We would like to see a few changes and updates to the place, but we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if we were looking for something in the Kihei area.

I’ll get right down to it. On the plus side the condo was clean and spacious. On the down side the bed was extremely uncomfortable. The mattress had a very cheap foam pad on it that killed my back after a few nights of sleeping on it. I switched to the sofa bed and while I found that mattress better it was still worn and uncomfortable. Just not as bad as the bed. The stained bedding on it didn’t help either. I’m an international airline pilot that spends half my time on the road and have spent many nights on hotel beds so I think I’m qualified to speak o the matter. I’ve stayed in everything from the Shangri-La in Shanghai to the terrible Timberland Motel in Dryden, Ontario. Additionally please be aware that check out time is very early at 10:00 and the management company V Trips was very inflexible in extending that even by an hour. Lastly the view from the balcony isn’t anything to write home about. It’s the back of the building and the best thing about it is that it is fairly private. Also this is one of the back buildings so the walk to the beach is significant.....just FYI. The property is well maintained and beautifully landscaped. Aloha.

We had a great time in Maui, but I was honestly a little disappointed with this condo. When we arrived, the code that had been given to me was incorrect. Debby did answer the phone (thank goodness) and was able to provide the right code, but it was a little stressful. The condo was definitely functional, but it wasn't very clean (mildew on the shower curtain, gross carpet in the living room). The pictures definitely make it looks nicer than it actually is, and I think it's definitely overpriced. The pullout was pretty uncomfortable, and it would have been awful trying to have two adults sleep on it. (Two kids...maybe.) There were four beach chairs, which was nice, but they were all slightly broken. All in all, it worked fine, but I wouldn't stay here again.

We really enjoyed our time at Kamole Sands. It is very central to everything in Kihei. We were a 10 minute walk to Kamole beach 2 and 3, a lot of restaurants and shops another 10 minutes walk away. The pool was great, perfect temperature, pretty busy but lots of lounge chairs to use and didn't feel too crowded. The condo we stayed in had a fully stocked kitchen with all the appliances, we didn't feel that we were lacking anything. The lanai had storage where the owners stored water toys, lawn chairs for the beach, pool noodles, snorkel gear, ect which came in handy. The bed was very comfortable. The condo was very clean. We would stay here again and recommend this place to anyone. Great for families and couples.

The trip was our 1st family Maui vacation trip. The place was very clean. The kitchen was equipped with "almost of" basic necessary cooking wares. All I needed were to buy veggies, meats, dairy produce, salt, pepper, sugar and voila! 3 home cooked meals daily. This condo unit was suitable for a family of four ( 2 adults + 2 young kids). It had a bedroom & a sofa bed. There was an AC unit but always used ceiling fans because inside temp was always cool nighly. This unit was tucked away from main street; therefore, it was quiet for most of the time with the exception of when delivery trucks accessed back street. It was not a 5 star hotel but more like a 4 star hotel; however, I still would have rather banged my money here than a hotel because of tile floor, large lanai, security, home away from home atmosphere, absence of street noise, well maintained bldg, affordable rent, walking distant to medical centre/pharmacy + convenient stores, restaurants, and of course close by sandy beach. I only commented about unit 4-210, not the entire bldg. Staff was amazing friendly. All questions were promptly replied by Debbie Guimond while staying at Kamal Sands 4-210.

This condo has a great feel and offers everything you might need for your stay in Maui. The location is great, near shops and the beach but you do have a bit of a walk from the road to the condo. Debbie is very helpful and friendly and quick to respond.

Nice set up to make one feel at home. One basic item could have been provided, but was easily purchased. I would stay at this complex again.

Most comfortable bed! We were very happy!

December 2016
This unit was immaculate! My family has stayed many times at Kamaole Sands and this unit by far was the best! It was clean, beautifully furnished and had everything you could ask for including beach chairs, boogie boards, umbrella and snorkel gear. The kitchen was fully stocked and to my surprise even had BBQ utensils so we could use the BBQ that was right around the corner from us. We LOVED the huge lanai that had seating for 6 and enjoyed dinners while watching the sunsets. Location wise, anyone who has stayed at Kamaole Sands before knows the location and beautiful grounds can't be beat! Right across from the beach and their amenities are what you would find at a hotel. We will definitely come back to this unit from now on when we visit Maui!

The location was ideal, right across from Kam 3. The condo was comfortable, roomy and well stocked with kitchen supplies and some food. There was no kettle but the owner supplied one right away after requesting it. Lots of beach equipment including chairs which were perfect! The only thing I can complain about would be the kitchen need some minor repairs and the cleanliness of the ceiling fans definitely needed some attention. Also recycling of plastics and glass would be appreciated but that was the resort and from what I heard the majority of Maui. Otherwise the building #4 was nice and quiet. Mai Tai parties at the pool on Wednesdays were fun. The surprise $35 resort fee was something we didn't know about until the day we arrived, should be afforded of that sooner. The resort Kamaole Sands was nice, beautiful grounds, and well taken care of! Overall a great stay, thank you!

Bathtubs toilets and floors were spot cleaned when we arrived. Overall, it was a good experience. The bed was comfortable and the unit was fairly new/modern.

My wife and I stay here for part of our honeymoon, and the place worked well for us. The place is nicely decorated, and the kitchen is well-stocked with dishes for cooking. The location is also excellent...the view from the condo is nothing special, but the beach is right across the street from the condo complex. The one downside was that although the condo is listed as having A/C, it's really just a single, undersized window unit on the opposite end of the condo from the bedroom. As a result, it really only gives you a small pocket of cool air in the living room. Fortunately, there is a big ceiling fan in the bedroom. and it wasn't warm enough to keep us from falling asleep, but it wasn't really what I would expect from a unit listed as having A/C. Still we had a pleasant stay, and Debbie was very responsive...I wouldn't hesitate to book there again.

Overall we had a wonderful stay in this perfectly located South Kihei condo. The grounds and amenities at Kam Sands are terrific - lots of grills and tables to use, pool and hot tubs spacious, 24-hour front desk staff, and pretty and well-maintained grounds. I liked that this unit was in the back of the complex; it meant a slightly longer walk to the beach across the street, but it was very quiet without street and foot traffic (Kihei can get quite lively). The unit itself is very well cared for and updated, and was perfect for a long weekend stay for two people. The lanai is big and private, with a table and chairs enough to fit 6 adults. The bed and couch are very comfy, and the kitchen well stocked. The only thing missing from the kitchen were plastic/outdoor plates and bowls; we wanted to eat down by the grills one night, but didn't feel comfortable taking glass dishes. While Maui is typically kept comfortable with the Tradewinds, our stay was during a rare very muggy and non-breezy time. A portable a/c unit for the bedroom would be a great addition to this unit, as the little a/c unit in the main room doesn't really keep the bedroom cool. Unfortunately we had some issues with the cleanliness of several kitchen items and broken glass on the bedroom floor. After checking out I notified Debbie of these issues, and she was so quick to make the situation right. From the beginning of the rental process to the end, Debbie was professional and courteous - a real pleasure to work with. I would definitely recommend this unit to anybody looking for an affordable, safe, quiet, and well-maintained and located condo in Kihei. Mahalo, Debbie!
