The condo has a fabulous top-floor view of the ocean from the minute you step through the door. You can fall asleep listening to waves even with the slider closed, and they have great wicker furniture on the lanai that seats 2 people in cozy comfort for whale-watching, coffee, etc. The unit is quiet (there was some renovation going on in the unit next door, and we never heard it). Bed/mattress is comfortable as well. Condo was just as it appears. There’s no table (bar stools at the counter) and Kitchen/bath are small (1 person fits in at a time) but up to date and kitchen was pretty well stocked with equipment, nice coffee maker. Washer/dryer worked well (it’s in a closet in kitchen). Wi-Fi was great. The closet/drawer space is pretty limited as they’ve got a lot of beach equipment for guests that takes up one closet and cleaning supplies that take up part of the other. Bathroom was well-stocked including extra towels. (Beach towels are provided at the pool.) Drawers in furniture were pretty full of things like books, office supplies, and extra bedding. We were only there a week, so I took the two available dresser drawers, and my husband hung up his clothes and kept the rest in his suitcase. It worked, but this is an area for improvement for renters. I’ll also flag that the folding mirrored doors on closet could probably be updated. One is cracked near the bottom, and they look a bit dated. The BEST part of this place besides its amazing location is the host. He is AWESOME. We had a couple issues (not w/ the condo but due to a water main break in Maui County) , and he took calls from me immediately, worked to help troubleshoot by calling the county and HOA to find out when we could expect to have water restored, and responded to me even w/ time difference between Maui and mainland. He also helped me try to problem solve 3 days before Christmas when another unit in the building was suddenly unavailable to our other family members and made suggestions to try to help us relocate them. I really appreciated him. We rent a LOT and also own a rental property, and I can tell you this is above and beyond in terms of service. I would work with him again in a heartbeat. We stay at The Mahana a lot. It is my favorite place on Maui. These top-floor units have a view like no other, and this place is a little gem. As the owner continues to update furnishings, I think it will only get even better!

Would highly recommend this property! Outstanding views, very clean, well stocked, and great location. If coming during whale season, not sure if there is a better location for whale whatching.

The view was excellent. Saw whales, turtles, and monk seals. The condo is very comfortable and the owner was very good in communicating with us.

Our stay at Mahana 1213 was absolutely wonderful. Everything we needed was right there. The view was breathtaking. The condo was clean and organized. The space was just right for 2 people. We only wished we would've had time to stay longer. It was by far our favorite place in our Hawaiian vacation. We will book again when we return to Maui. Thank you David and Vanessa!

My husband and I spent a great week in David’s condo! The Mahana is an ideal location and the condo has a fantastic view on the top floor! Whale watching was fantastic, and we enjoyed sunset on the balcony every evening! The condo is close to Kapalua, Kaanapali and Lahaina, and is adjacent to the beach walk. We stopped by the Times Supermarket on the way in and cooked breakfast in the condo every morning after our walk. Free parking was very convenient and the condo had everything we needed, including beach towels, chairs, etc. We look forward to staying again next year!
