This third floor oceanfront condo at the Kihei Surfside Resort is located in the center of the building and has a lovely ocean view from the kitchen, living room, dining area and lanai. It is a 1 bedroom/1 bath unit.

The entire unit is tiled. The cabinets are a handsome ebony, and the kitchen counters and backsplash are done in lovely brown granite.

The island style kitchen is great! It is fully equipped with white appliances, including fridge/freezer, flat top stove, dishwasher, multi-function microwave oven, garbage disposer and a variety of small appliances including coffee maker, coffee grinder, toaster and blender.

The living room has a queen size sofa bed with one rattan armchair. There is also a large 37" flat screen LCD color TV with, DVR, and stereo. And of course, a multi speed ceiling fan.

The dining area has a round rattan table with 4 matching padded armchairs.

The private lanai has a glass top bistro table with two rattan chairs - a perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee or a romantic oceanfront dinner! Turtles and dolphins can be seen year round, whales in season.

The bedroom has a King size bed, 32" LCD TV, multi speed ceiling fan, plantation shutters and a digital security safe.

The master bathroom has a full size, walk in shower with an elongated toilet.

The unit is fully equipped with utensils, fresh linens and towels, iron/ironing board, hairdryer, beach towels and a cooler. Umbrellas, boogie boards and snorkel gear are NOT supplied, but are often left behind in the units by other guests – no guarantees. The Kihei Surfside office loans out beach chairs free of charge. Coin laundry facilities are available on site.

The unit has free, wireless high speed internet and free long distance calling to the United States and Canada. It is also equipped with a state of the art Oracode door lock, whereby each guest is issued a unique code which controls the door only during their stay. No keys!

This unit is an excellent choice for guests who are looking for economical accommodation with a spectacular location and unobstructed view of the Pacific Ocean.

Kihei Surfside Resort is located at 2936 S. Kihei Road, South Kihei at the entrance of beautiful Wailea. This is the desert part of Maui, where the sun shines more than any other part of the island. The Kihei Surfside Resort consists of an absolute oceanfront concrete building of 6 floors and 84 deluxe units with an elevator. There is free parking on site. The resort is a twenty-five minute drive from the Kahului Airport (OGG). Rental cars are available at the airport or in Kihei town. There are also taxis available at the airport (about $50), Uber, a shuttle bus and public transportation.

Virtually all of the properties and resorts in Kihei are either located right on busy S. Kihei Rd., or if they are set back from the road - are across from the street from the ocean. One unique feature of the Kihei Surfside is that it is located at the quiet end of S. Kihei Road, AND is set back 300 feet from S. Kihei Road AND is located right on the ocean! Because it is hard to see from the road, many first time Surfside guests say that even though they have visited Kihei many times, they had never seen the resort!

Another unique feature of the property is that we have a 2 acre, immaculately kept oceanfront lawn area with dozens of loungers, with a heated swimming pool and deluxe barbeque facilities. In season, there are daily whale sightings from both the grounds and lanais. In fact, the Pacific Whale Foundation conducts their annual whale count from our property. The building is located at the north end of Keawakapu Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches on Maui(voted Maui's most romantic), where you can walk for miles past some of the most expensive oceanfront homes on the island and the luxurious hotels of Wailea.

Rates for one bedroom units are for up to 2 people. 3rd and 4th persons in the unit are $25/nt for adults and $15/nt for persons under 18.

My husband and I had a very great time here. The view is breath taken and the building is very calm, you can hear birds and the sound of the waves all the time. People were friendly and the location was perfect! The only thing we were concern about it was the sand and few hairs we found in the floor and some towels. They have everything in the apartment so we had to clean it ourselves. Besides that, we would definitely come back again!

Condo was exactly as advertised and is in a fantastic location for those who love the beach (like myself) and would like to be near Wailea without paying a premium.

Great property with beautiful views. The Kihei side has a lot to offer and this location was in a quick driving distance to restaurants, grocery stores, and other great local activities. My favorite routine for the week was drinking coffee on the balcony while watching the sunrise. I look forward to returning!

Nice property. Had a great view. Wasn't to hot or cold. Comfortable. Close enough to town area and shops but far enough away to feel more private.

This was was our 7th stay in Maui and by far the worst accommodations.. This is not a reflection of Surfside, It is a beautiful location and well manicured and maintained.. but unit 308 is not up to the standards of this property or location. The unit was filthy dirty, sand all over the floor. Dust everywhere, we had to wash leftover food off of the utensils and pots and pans before we could use them. The scissors in the cutlery set looked like they had caked on old ketchup or jam all over them. And the coffee grounds were left in the pot from the last guest. There was missing paint on the wall in the bathroom and the toilet was not mounted solidly to the floor and rocked back and forth. There is a separation of the mirror laminate with mold stains on the sink vanity and dirt and dust on the back splash. There was a large broken screen left on the lanai that blew over on you from the breeze and left a safety issue if you wanted to open the main window. The TV in the bed room was not paired with the remote control, but that didn't matter because the cable box was d.o.a only some out the outlets work in the bedroom and light switches that apparently do not turn anything off or on anymore throughout and there are painted over screws just hanging out of the wall all over from decor that is no longer there.. infact the photos in the listing are quite old..many of the amenities and decor are no longer there. The chair by the phone is gone there is not flowers on the tables and most importantly the curtain in the bedroom to the outside windows is long gone and some wall hangings are not there now...most of the amenities in the kitchen are well wore and need replaced..the handles on the refrigerator are disgusting. This is not a cheap place to rent and you don't get what you pay for because the management team is not proactive about the unit just reactive with excuses and wanting to be intrusive to your stay to have people come redo what should have been taken care of long before your arrival. I had to let someone come fix the toilet that was coming off the floor but had to deal with multiple text and emails that were just ignored after more and more issues were pointed out..I even asked for some kind of compensation at least a refund on my cleaning fee that was ignored. We left the unit so much cleaner when we left than what we received for out vacation. Lastly please note the lack of AC will make you nights very miserable.

The property is in a great location to explore Maui, and view from the balcony over the ocean is great. The BBQ and pool is great to use. The property is a bit noisy to sleep due to chicken noise unless you have ear plugs, the chickens are cute and part of nature but they make noises all day and almost all night long. Bring your own ear plugs or ask management for free pairs, though the management is only available from 10am to 4pm if I remember correctly. It can get hot during the day and night inside the unit, although the ceiling fan helps, but it's still quite humid. AC Unit would definitely help with cooling and staying dry, which is very important after a long day out exploring Maui, whether it's hiking the Haleakala, or snorkeling the Molokini/Kihei/west-maui, or long drives of road to Hana. I wish the listing at vrbo could make clear of it that the unit lacks AC unit inside the property. Overall it's a pleasant stay, and Larry writes and replies detailed emails promptly. This condo was the perfect spot for my wife and I, literally 1 mile away from everything! Larry made everything super easy as far as checking in and getting acquainted with the condo. We will definitely be staying here again!

We’ve stayed in many different rooms at Kihei Surfside over the years and this stay was no different, it’s always awesome! The room was clean and we had no complaints at all. It’s so nice to be that close to the water and to have a spectacular beach and reef just around the next building over. Very nice!

The grounds of the property were very well maintained. The floors and the entryway to the condo hadn't been touched in a long time, trash and debris on all floors (outside, not inside). Property Management had to enter our building twice for scheduled maintenance that we were not told about and then also turned our water off for 2 hours in the middle of the day when they had informed us they were turning it off in the evening, that was frustrating. The lack of air conditioning was brutal, but they were installing that the last couple of days of our trip. Would I recommend? Absolutely, especially with the air conditioning being installed. The negatives we had were more annoying but didn't take away from the great location and the great time we had at this condo.
