The location is as close as you can get to the ocean! Our unit was impeccable. It was very clean and updated to perfection with all supplies one could need. Turtles, surfers, and ships in clear view daily. The host is perfect. Very nice and quick to assist. It's comforting to know she was there and so responsive if we needed anything. The exterior of the resort could use some updating, but we would stay here again for the location and the comfort that this unit provided.

Beautiful well equipped 2 bedroom condo in a perfect location on the ocean with Da Poke Shop in the complex. Nothing like spending the mornings on the Lanai, sipping Kona coffee and watching the whales frolic in ocean. Our host was super responsive. When our TV died, it was replaced the next day. Although it is wonderful families, two couples may find it a bit snug--still both of our couples enjoyed our week stay.

All I can say is WOW! The condo absolutely lived up to it's 5-star reviews; and so did our host, Holly. It is fully equipped, and then some. The star of the show though is the Lanai. We spent every morning there drinking our coffee and every evening cooking our meals and watching the sunset. You can't get any closer to the water if you tried. If you need anything or have any questions, Holly is extremely responsive. I highly recommend staying here if you are ever in Kona.

My family and I had the trip of a lifetime in Hawaii! We absolutely loved our condo sweet condo. Best view in the building, incredibly comfortable beds, and everything you could possibly need for a perfect vacation stay. Loved the location, just far enough from town to be away from the busyness, but a close drive or free trolley ride in. Took so many sunset pics, having a few blown up and printed! Holly was super quick to respond to any needs. Would come back here in a heartbeat.

This unit was exceptionally clean & I have very high standards. The kitchen was well furnished with all the necessities & bathrooms had many towels available. We loved the spacious lanai & spent most of our time there. We would definitely stay here when visiting Kona next time.
Our only complaint is the pool area was very small and shaded from 1:30 pm on in January. But the beautiful unit made up for it! ☺️

Seriously this place is right on the water. It was fun to wake up, open my eyes and see the ocean. We enjoyed watching surfers everyday. The amenities were great. Most comfortable beds, pillows and couch I’ve had at a vrbo. The only draw back is the lack of AC in the other room, but we knew that going in.

The pictures and description of the Penthouse is spot-on! The view is amazing. We sat on the lanai every morning drinking our coffee and watching the surfers and waves. We ate breakfast and dinner on the lanai. It was definitely our favorite part of the place. The place including the kitchen was will stocked with anything you need, the beds were comfortable, and did I mention the views...so amazing. I was concerned about the guest room being warm but there was a ceiling fan and a rotating fan our daughter/boyfriend were comfortable and it was humid during the day/early evening. It was close to shopping and restaurants. Papa Kona restaurant is very good! We ate there 3 times including Thanksgiving! We hope to return soon! Thank you Holly for sharing your beautiful Penthouse!

The best feature of the room is the amazing lanai (large balcony)! There are 2 loungers, a table, hooks and transparent shades that drop down. There are surfers 300 yards from lanai, all day long LIVE ENTERTAINMENT. Lava rocks at the entrance of ocean and is not friendly for swimming. The lanai glass wall completely opens. The air conditioning worked well. The master bed was comfortable. Storage in closet, and under bed. There was multiple fold up chairs and coolers. There is a pocket wall between the master bedroom and living room. The TV mount allowed easy viewing. The TV was a current smart TV with screen mirroring. The kitchen has plenty of cooking supplies. There were casserole dishes the we used to warm our pre-order meals each night, ordered from Taylored Meals in Kona. The second bedroom had a TV and fan, closet storage but doesn’t have direct air conditioning vents. Hair dryer and washer and dryer in bathroom. In the grass area on the property there are several BBQs. The unit has BBQ equipment. Free public transportation pick up station directing adjacent to property. The bus runs every hour on the hour, was 12-minute ride to downtown. There are multiple grocery stores in Kona we spent our money at local KTA stores several nearby. Holly was wonderful about communication. We would highly recommend this unit. Thank You for a Wonderful 30th Anniversary experience.

The property was exactly as described and pictured and the property manager was the best! She was attentive, accommodating and thought of everything! It was hands down the cleanest property we ever stayed at and all of the furnishings and appliances were kept in pristine condition. They thought of everything by having beach chairs, umbrellas and two types of coolers available for use. Even had coffee filters, sandwich bags, plastic wrap, etc. Would definitely stay here again if the opportunity presents itself!

After having to suddenly rebook due to the original properties elevator breaking, I was able to book this amazing place. Literally steps from the ocean and close to downtown Kailua-Kona, but not too close. Very well furnished and clean. Parking was adequate even with the renovations occurring to the parking area. Definitely a 5 star location!

I LOVED my two-week stay here. Amazing VRBO rental. It is exactly like the photos suggest... beautiful. Holly has it impressively stocked with everything one might need for a stay (dish soap, new sponges, soap, paper towels, garbage bags, etc.).. you just need to get food.
The view is incredible.. I loved watching the surfers nearby. What a treat. I kept the patio doors open with screens shut at night to hear the waves. I only used the A/C once for about 10 minutes on a humid day. But if you keep the top windows in the 2nd bedroom open, you'll get a nice cross breeze, esp. with the three overhead fans in the condo. Keyless door entry with a door code is also great. I looked at many condos and hotels online over the past few months before I chose this one, and I am so glad I did. Fantastic place. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

This is a great condo overlooking the beautiful ocean. We have stayed at the Kona Bali Kai quite a few times. This condo has been completely remodeled and the changes were done really well. We especially liked the changes made to the kitchen area. The diagonal change to the kitchen sink area was a great idea and really opens up the main room. The bathroom remodels were also well done. The remodel design was carefully thought through and they used some quality materials. We really enjoyed our stay. Holly was a terrific host and made everything easy.

Great condo with everything we needed for our stay. Plenty of beach gear (towels, chairs, umbrellas, cooler) for 4 people. Well equipped kitchen. Spacious patio with room for 4. Full washer, dryer, and drying rack. Plenty of parking. Didn't use the pool but it looked nice. Master bath was quite spacious - equipped with plenty of towels. Well stocked with paper products. Back bedroom was a little warm (as listing indicates only 1 AC unit near master bedroom) but cooled down well with fan in doorway. Might benefit from 1 more fan to facilitate air movement to back of condo. We had a great stay!

This place has everything you need for a fun, comfortable, and marine-animal packed stay! The view is amazing - every day we enjoyed a gorgeous view packed with surfers and one or more ocean superstars - brightly colored reef fish, spinner dolphins (sometimes more than 25 at a time!!), honu (sea turtles), and humpback and other whales. Not to mention the gorgeous colors for each night’s sunset.
Now for the condo itself - both beds are comfortable and well appointed, the kitchen has everything you need to cook meals at home, and the living room and dining room spaces were thoughtfully designed and comfortable. Not to mention the lanai’s great dining table and comfortable chairs!
The location is perfect for exploring Kona and surrounding areas, and there’s even a few small beaches right on the property.
All in all, it was a great place and we’d highly recommend it.

Everything went smoothly in our dealings with Holly and we didn't need to communicate with her at all during our stay--which is a great thing!
The unit is beautifully decorated and everything you could want is provided. The best part is the lanai, overlooking tide pools which are great for exploring. We saw a couple of sea turtles up close and even a moray (I think) eel in the tide pools. We also got to watch surfers all day every day at the Banyans (from the Lanai) and there was even a Hawaiian Surf Assn. championship on one of our days. Even without that, you couldn't beat just relaxing out there with the views and crashing waves. Relaxing and exciting at the same time!

We absolutely loved staying in Kona at Holly's lovely vrbo rental. The lanai was a wonderful spot for breakfast, reading and watching the sunsets.
Holly herself was also incredible, she provided nice restaurant recommendations for our 22nd wedding anniversary dinner. She also checked in with us a couple times to make sure we had what we needed.

All I can say is WOW!! This rental is the most amazing place I have ever rented for multiple reasons. First and foremost is the stunning view of the ocean through a wall of glass doors that open wide up and let the ocean breeze blow right through. These doors were open when we arrived and it was an incredible first impression. Breathtaking.
Second would be the beautiful renovation of the unit with up to date EVERYTHING! The owner/designer has impeccable taste. It's GORGEOUS and I cannot say enough about that!! The feel of this condo is so relaxing and the beds and furniture so comfortable, it felt like home. Tough to leave for sure!
Third and also super important was how this rental was stocked. Unlimited supply of toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, shampoo/conditoner, kitchen spices, foil, plastic wrap, freezer bags, etc, etc. the list goes on. It's nice to rent a place where you don't have to go to the store for the basic necessities the minute you get there. It's that extra added touch that makes a difference and makes it even more special and convenient.
The location is awesome too! About 3 miles from downtown Kona, a mile from Magic Sands Beach (snorkeling) and 1/2 mile from a cute little shopping area and the Shaka Taco truck (LOL) whose spicy pork tacos are a must!
Last but not least is Holly, the owner. Super cool, very accessible, accommodating and extremely pleasant to deal with. Holly and her condo is from now on my GO TO place in Kona and I cannot imagine staying anywhere else. Thank you Holly!! Please take the rest of the VRBO owners to school! Take care until next time! The accommodations were just great - super clean!, everything you could need for cooking (though we didn't cook much), beach supplies - chairs, umbrellas, cooler, ice packs, very comfortable bed!!, spectacular view of the ocean, air conditioning for the late afternoon when it got a bit warm, plenty of parking, convenient for getting to restaurants etc in town, walkable to Magic's Beach Grill, easy drive to sandy beaches up the coast, washer and dryer in unit, and on and on. The minute you step inside this unit and feel the ocean breeze you know you are in the perfect spot. The morning views from the balcony of the surfers and waves are a great way to start the morning but the views of sunsets are spectacular! The inside of the unit is exactly as the photos, inviting and very comfortable, perfect for relaxing. Everything has been thoughtfully supplied for making meals. But if cooking is not your thing on vacation great restaurants are only short walk away. We can’t wait to go back!

Holly’s condo is amazing! First, there is the view. It is even more spectacular in person. We spent every morning and evening on the lanai watching the surfers do their thing. Second, Holly has thought of everything in terms of stocking the place. I can’t count the number of times someone in our family said: “It would be nice if we had a cooler. Hey! There’s a cooler in the closet!” or “I wish I had brought binoculars to look at the birds up close. Hey, there’s binoculars in this drawer!” This went on and on throughout our stay and became a running joke in our family. “I bet Holly has thought of this.” You will not run out of towels or toilet paper or anything. Copious supplies of everything you need. Third, the condo was clean and everything was as listed. A great place to stay in a great location to get to wherever you want on the island. Check in was a breeze and Holly was very proactive in reaching out to make sure we checked in and that we had everything we needed. A thousand mahalos, Holly! Thank your for your thoughtfulness and hospitality!

I am writing this review on my second day of a week long stay here because I already can’t say enough good things about this unit. We have stayed in a lot of home share places over the years as well as some amazing hotel/efficiencies, but never have we stayed in a place that is both so beautifully designed and thoroughly well appointed. Literally, every single thing you can think of that you need is provided in this unit. But because of the impeccable design, everything has a place and you don’t feel like there is just “stuff everywhere.”
The home looks exactly like it does in the listing. It is beautiful and the location is exactly what you come to Hawaii for— beautiful blue water, palm trees, crashing waves— stunning! Located just a few miles away from not only Kona town, but also grocery stores, pharmacies, gas stations, etc. it’s the perfect combination of tourist and practical.
The only thing I could point out to future residents is that there is a back bedroom & bathroom that tend to stay fairly warm even with the fan running. Most of the year, that’s probably not an issue, but in early June it was a little warm.

It's never totally comfortable renting a place sight unseen, despite pictures and reviews. However, you can be comfortable renting this condo from Holly. Communication was quick. The condo was better than the pictures and reviews.
As others have stated, it is FULLY stocked with beach and kitchen needs. The ocean (and turtles!) are mere steps away.
The only downside we found was when checking out - only because you can't stay there forever!

Holly's place is amazing and as described - a beautiful, newly refinished two bed condo overlooking a small beach where surfers rode a nice point break in Halualoa Bay. We really enjoyed just hanging on the lanai, drinking mai tais, and watching the surfers and occasional spinning dolphins!
The location is ideal - walking distance to nearby sandy beaches, coffee shops, watering holes, and (if you're more adventurous) downtown Kona about 2 miles away.

We stayed in this beautiful condo for a little over 3 weeks from mid-November to the first part of December. It was everything advertised and more! What few minor problems we encountered upon arrival were dealt with immediately by Holly and her staff. We so enjoyed watching the surfers every morning and loved our evening sunsets on the lanai. We had friends join us for two separate weeks and they loved it as well. I would thoroughly recommend this condo to anyone looking for a first class, upscale place to stay!

We were really impressed with Holly's condo! It's beautifully decorated and equipped with anything you might need for a great stay on the Big Island. The views are spectacular and we had beautiful sunsets almost every evening. There is a small gated salt-water swimming pool in the main area, and an elevator to use, along with under the building parking. It's convenient to everything we wanted to do and we loved watching the surfers from our lanai. The beds are super comfortable and we had such a good trade wind breeze that we didn't need the air conditioning at all. Thanks Holly!

The stay at this property was nothing short of incredible. The space is well-appointed with high-end appliances, beautiful lighting/decor, comfortable furniture, a plethora of towels and beach gear, and of course the stunning sunset view with the constant sound of waves crashing. The pictures are spot on, there is fast wifi, and there are amazing beaches within walking distance. The pool is heated which is great and the other guests in the complex are friendly. The host is lightning fast with communication and goes above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. I’d always book a stay here when visiting the big island.

It had everything we needed for the beach including beach chairs, beach mat, umbrellas and coolers. The kitchen was super nice, we wanted to stay and cook in! Again, it had everything we needed including a whole array of spices!! Both bedrooms had king beds which was nice. We stayed in the master and was lulled to sleep every night with the crashing waves below us!! The lanai is part of the condo. Holly has it set up so it completely opens and becomes an extension of the inside. There was lots of seating outside, which of course is where we spent most of our time!! Our stay was absolutely amazing. Every detail was thought through. Anything you could possibly imagine is at this Unit. Beach bags, beach chairs, fully stocked kitchen, Bluetooth speaker.
The view itself is indescribable and the pictures don’t do justice. Fantastic location just 10 minute drive from shopping and great food.

We just spent nine nights in this beautiful condo. It is SPOTLESS and has everything you need for a vacation stay. The kitchen is well-equipped with every pot, pan and utensil you need, including spices. The beds are super comfortable and the apartment is really quiet-- we never heard noise from neighbors. And the view is perhaps even more beautiful than the pictures. We did many activities our and around the island, but our favorite part of every day was coming home, sitting on the lanai and watching the sun set over the ocean. Bliss.

We stayed in this fourth floor oceanfront condo for eight nights. It is the most beautifully appointed rental that I have ever stayed in anywhere in Hawaii.

Incredible in every shape of the word! My wife and I stayed here for 6 nights and it was such a perfect place for us. The view – majestic and such a dream. I cannot overstate how lovely it was to wake up every morning and enjoy a cup of coffee on the lanai listening to the waves. The sunsets and sunrises were gorgeous. We couldn’t believe how much this condo felt like home. Everything you needed and things you didn’t think you needed were there. During the time of COVID-19, it was lovely to have a fully stocked kitchen to cook whatever we wanted. Anything and everything was there for us to cook with – just be sure to hit Costco & Safeway on your way in for food and drink. What sold it for us was all the beach gear/towels that are provided that you can’t get at hotels. 4 beach chairs, two beach umbrellas, the perfect size cooler, beach bag… and endless amounts of beach towels/bath towels. And for those who need the perfect bed – you have it! We were so comfortable and slept like babies.
Holly answered all of our lead-up questions promptly so we were prepared/comfortable when we arrived. We arrived at the condo about an hour before sunset and when we walked in, it took our breath away. The big doors open to the view, the sound of the ocean, the Hawaiian music playing… we cannot wait to return and highly recommend this to anyone!

The condo unit was immaculate! The view of the ocean through the palm trees was spectacular! The balcony with the table and recliner chairs was the ultimate. The wall-to-wall glass fold out doors offered a stunning openair setting throughout the unit. The unit was fully furnished with all kitchenware and even spices. Staying here was a most enjoyable part of our honeymoon and we likely will come back for future anniversaries.
