Wonderful views. Very comfortable and well stocked. Loved being able to fully open the big front windows for the breeze. Also loved watching turtles swimming right below the condo yard. And please don’t take away the chickens, they are fun to watch. The pool was great. Did fine with no A/C even though some of family was worried at first. Thanks to owners as well for having beach chairs and towels!
Overall definitely a 5 star, for location, comfort, look of condo. Gave a 4 only for sewage smell in back bathroom but we smelled this out on the street too so maybe a ventilation issue.
Thank you to all for a great stay on the island. Visit the lighthouse in the north for the birds and nests. This was an unexpected highlight. We also loved the rock pool at Lydgate beach. Tons of places to eat right nearby. We liked the bakery across the street and Bobby V Italian down the street . Zorbas across the street as well for the lemon chicken soup and really good drinks.

I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay. As other reviews have stated, the view is just wonderful. Took a picture every morning as we didn't miss a single sunrise. The condo is modern, clean and spacious. I think this unit is the best of them. It was peaceful and never felt like a crowed resort will. Yes there were chickens with the roosters crowing every morning but we thoroughly enjoyed it as we never wanted to miss the sunrise. Thought no AC would be an adjustment but airflow was good. Tip to future renters, the garage door opener like item hanging by the front door is for the gate so grab it. It wasn't obvious or notated (at least we missed it). The other mention is the beach is not really a beach you sit at and swim. Access is also not easy, steps are a drop down with branches at the bottom. Sand is rough and deep with much debris so one of our family members could not walk it. Rocks are in the water and can be rough with waves. To have the true beach experience, you need to plan on going to another beach. That did not take away from our experience at all. When we went down to the beach at the condo, we looked at it as more of a walking adventure especially at low tide. James (pool guy) and Bryson (grounds guy) were both very friendly and a joy to talk to. Quaint Market area with shops/restaurants 5 minute walk away and also by Lava Lave Beach club were both great and we visited multiple times. We would definitely stay here again!!

The best thing about this place was the view and the lanai. It just can not be beat. Very spacious with a well appointed kitchen. The beach is not great for swimming but it is beautiful to sit watch and listen to. We were quick to make friends with the rooster! Kids enjoyed the very clean and well maintained pool. Wifi was good if needed for work etc. It could use new and better fans for more circulation as I had to take the existing ones apart to clean. Overall a nice spot for a few days. We visited Lava Lava multiple times as it had decent food and amazing views and vibe. The coconut shopping center and farmers market all within walking distance were great to have close by.

Everything in the place looks brand new. Can't beat spectacular location on beach right in front of pool. Manager responds to emails in minutes and even stopped by to make sure everything was OK.

The property was fantastic. Our stay was for 8 nights during the first week of June, 2023. The views were amazing, it was hard to leave the lanai! The pool was very clean made great friends with the pool manager, James. We had the pool to ourselves most of the time. We saw the turtles every morning and evening down at the beach. There was even a sea lion that ventured up onto the beach for some sun. The only downside was there was not easy walking access to one of the beaches from the condo. The beach that was accessible had a great “ocean stream” for little ones to play in. We were able to do a little snorkeling at the beach by the condo but the waves were pretty big during our stay, but still had fun in the waves. We cooked dinner every night in the amazing kitchen and ate as a family outside. Both rooms were very comfortable. The hide a bed could use a different mattress, but it does have an amazing view.
The condo was in a great location to call home for 8 days. We spent one our days up at tunnels beach and also ventured the other direction to Polihale on another day. I would say that the condo is right in the middle. We have never been to Kauai before this trip. Do your research and make reservations for the parks if needed. We rented a 4 Wheel drive just in case and we did need it going to Polihale and to one of the waterfall trails. I could go on and on about our time in Kauai…. Definitely would stay here again if available. We will be back!

Describing the views does not do it justice. You have to see if for yourself. We had dinner on the lanai every night. Simply amazing. The Condo was super clean and had a very nice kitchen. Everything you could need is in the Condo. The pool was super clean as the pool guy (super nice) was there every evening. Plenty of seating inside and on the lanai. We love this Condo and will defiantly be back. Cindy was also very kind and quick to respond. Thank you Cindy!

We loved our stay here! Beautiful views and the grounds and pool are well maintained. We couldn't get enough of sitting on the patio and taking it all in! The condo has lots of room and everything you need for having a wonderful time! We appreciated all the items for the beach (chairs, coolers, towels)
Also, with this not being a large complex it is was quiet and peaceful. Once again the views are amazing!!

This property had an incredible location, and it was just as described. We all decided that we could easily stay here for a month or longer. You can walk to several coffee and food choices so we grabbed lunch and dinner and came back and ate on the porch, which we loved.

Our family stayed for a week and loved every part of our stay. It was seamless with easy logistics. The advertising is as presented or even better. No air conditioning is not a big deal as there was lots of wind off the coast and many fans, which we hardly used. Fantastic stay - we will be back! Thank you!!

Could not beat the views and peacefulness of this location! The unit is well stocked with everything you could possibly need including beach chairs, cooler, beach towels. There is also a restaurant just a short walk away and the location is set in a nice little cove we were able to snorkel in.
Our only issue was a little privacy....I failed to note there was no a/c and having to leave the sliding doors open for air flow each night left us feeling a little sticky and a little too "seen" by those coming home later at night right beside the bedroom we were sleeping in.

Overall, I would recommend this condo. As previous reviews stated, the views are even better in person. And with this being only a 9 unit property along with this being an end unit, you feel very secluded. Even if others are at the pool, it feels very private. We could not get enough of the patio and the views day or night. The pool is very nice and well maintained. The beach is a little rough, but that’s the case for most of Kauai. The unit is nice and even though it is a first floor unit, you do not hear anything from upstairs. As with much of the island, you do however hear the roosters from 4am onwards. You definitely don’t need air conditioning and there is always a nice breeze since the back door slides open for the entire length of the wall. The only small downsides were that the unit does have a very musty smell (which is not shocking in that climate and with no AC), the second bedroom bed is very uncomfortable (although the primary bed is nice), and there is a bug problem in the hall bath (a lot water flies that was a bit annoying). There are all the beach supplies you could need and plenty of towels and of course laundry if needed. Overall, we had a great stay and I would highly recommend!

This home was amazing!! Very clean, awesome kitchen! My sister-in-law and I could move around each other with ease cooking meals. The view is absolutely priceless. 10 minute walk to coconut marketplace. There is a bakery right behind the condo, try the Malasades they are yummy. Seen whales breaching on are catamaran trip from port Allen. It’s an awesome island and condo. Thanks Cindy

We had a wonderful time during our stay on Kauai! The views are 10/10. We watched the sun rise every morning, and the surfers and paddleboarders during the day. The condo has everything you'll need, with a well-stocked kitchen, comfy beds, and plenty of beach gear (toys, chairs, cooler, snorkel, umbrella, boogie board). The complex is small and quiet, the grounds are great, parking is easy, and within walking distance of resteraunts, store, shopping, bakery (eat the melasadas!).

Overall our family enjoyed our stay at Hale Awapuhi 1A. Accessing the property was easy and the property is located within a few minutes of all the main restaurants and stores in the area. You can also walk across the street right outside the property door to access Passion Bakery Cafe to get great coffee, baked goods, and you can pre-order local malasadas (fried donuts) that are delicious. We also walked across the main highway and rented kayaks from Bring Me a Kayak. They load the kayaks on top of our rental car with foam mounts. The property is located about 3 minutes from the entrance to the popular Wailua River. If you haven't kayaked down the river, it's a must do. Once you get to the end of the river, you walk to a beautiful waterfall and then kayak back to your starting point.
The best part of the condo is the amazing ocean view and the large patio. The view is exactly as pictured, but better! The condo was large and comfortable, but could use some updating. The wall in the master bedroom had some paint missing, and their was a pretty wide gap at the top of sliding glass doors that didn't have drywall. The beds were comfortable, but the pillows were flat and need to be replaced along with the sheets. The sheets were somewhat stained and yellowing. The furniture cushions were pretty worn and need to be cleaned or replaced, but the living and dining room were spacious. It was a great place for the family to relax, watch t.v., and eat our meals. Because Kauai is on a tropical island, we did experience some insects, but the property manager, Cindy, promptly sent over some traps to help with the issue. Overall, our family had a wonderful time in Kauai. I would highly recommend staying in this area because you're so close to all of the great things to see and do on the Northern and Eastern side of the island, and you're a short drive to the Lihue or Poipu area. Once the property is updated a bit, it will be a true 5 star gem. Mahalo for a wonderful family vacation in beautiful Kauai!

This condo, in such a lovely setting, has all you need as a home away from home. The view is breathtaking. I was hesitant after booking when I realized there was not a/c but this was not a problem. Between ceiling fans and sea breezes, it was plenty cool enough. The secure location and locking screen doors made it possible to leave the large sliders open all night. I would recommend an upgrade to bed linens as they are somewhat worn.

The property location and view are fantastic. Interior was recently redone (2015, I believe, per the guest book), with nice tile and modern cabinetry+appliances. All ocean-facing rooms have doors of the "moving glass wall system" variety, such that the entire wall opens to the outside air. Local beach is a bit rocky, but no worse than most other beaches on Kauai. Within a short walking distance of several restaurants and shops, including the Lava Lava Beach Club. Our only negative comment is that the complex and several units within are undergoing maintenance and renovation, respectively, which was a surprise - we would expect advance notice of such activities prior to booking. The associated construction noise and foot traffic would have been more annoying had we stayed at the property during the day.

First, you feel safe in a gated community. Then you walk in the condo…oh my, the view is absolutely awesome. The kitchen is situated so you can see the view without anything in the way. We sat outside watching and listening to the waves almost all the time. The unit was so clean. And Cindy was so responsive to anything. James, the pool guy was so friendly. When you come to Kauai, this is a must stay place!

What an amazing place and the view should be on a postcard. The pool and beach is steps away from this unit we stayed in. We had coffee every morning watching the sunrise from our lanai and dinner. It has a great kitchen and a livingroom with comfort furniture. The master bedroom has a partial view of the ocean and enjoyed everyday the breeze from the ocean. Family friendly, we had our kids and 10 month old granddaughter and prefect for the little one. We will be back and will rent this place again.

The location and condo were great for our group. We enjoyed having the door to the lanai open all the way and the grounds & pool easily accessible. With the slider in the bedroom open at night we could hear the waves.
Kitchen is well stocked. Might want to pick up oil & spices if you like to cook & want to have a variety.
The second half of the week was humid which made it a little hard to sleep since there is no A/C.
We will definitely stay here again.

You can't beat this location. Gorgeous views and walking distance to restaurants and shops. The condo was clean and as advertised. Two minor issues of our stay was that the bed sheets smelled a bit moldy (discovered that the washing machine had mold in it so that's probably why), and the child's pack-n-play didn't have a mattress so we weren't able to use it. We still had a wonderful time on our family vacation and rating 5 stars.

Centrally-located in Kapaa on the East side of the island, this 2BR 2BA property was a wonderful home base for our Kauai adventure! The beachfront view couldn't be more beautiful, and we looked forward to every sunrise on the lanai. Everything was very comfortable, we loved being able to pack light and wash our clothes with the W/D there, and having beach chairs provided to take with us to Poipu. Would definitely recommend Hale Awapuhi to anyone looking to book accommodations in Kauai!
