Excellent location. We loved sitting on the Lanai and watching the harbour activity as well as the whales spouting in the distance and the little turtle popping his head up near the shore.
The unit was without compare, everything we needed was accommodated. A kitchen a chef would delight cooking in.
The linens and beds were 5 star.
We appreciated the helpful, reliable information our friendly host John, gave us and his assistance when needed. Thanks so much for helping us create wonderful memories.

This property was amazing. Very quiet, away from the hustle and bustle of Lahaina and Kihei but still close to great restaurants, shopping, and beaches. We enjoyed every morning out on the lanai having coffee and breakfast. We saw more turtles just outside the condo than we did on our snorkeling tour to turtle town. The condo was very clean and spacious for our family of four. Completely updated and renovated. I would recommend this place to anyone. We were very pleased and will return for another stay.

Property is also very clean with a lot of friendly residents. One of the key highlights of the trip was finishing the day right in front of the condo, by the sea, looking for sea turtles while sipping wine !!! Everyone loved it !

When we were trying to decide where to stay on the island, quietness was on the top of the list. This location was perfect! It was central to everywhere on the island with a therapeutic vibe. The condo is perfectly decorated and we had everything we needed. Upon arrival we saw fresh bouquet of flowers, Hawaiian chocolate and treats, and a bag of native coffee! John definitely has a phenomenal property! The location and the setting was Heaven on Earth. We woke up daily to the sound of waves crashing on the rocks. Mid-afternoon, we watched the many sea turtles try to sun-bathe on the rocks. Evening, we grilled on the pristine clean grills that are available for all guests. The place was immaculate. John provided us with treats upon our arrival and fresh Hawaiian coffee beans to grind for the best aroma and coffee. The free wifi worked great throughout the grounds. We loved this place! Also, John provided us with their lists of favorite activities and restaurants which we did use. He was very responsive to all of our wishes and needs! Great experience!

If you want peace and quiet with a perfect view from the lanai away from the business of Lahaina this is your spot. The best part is, it is not far from Lahaina, the airport and other points of interest. John has done a wonderful job with this fully stocked condo. John was amazing through the entire process. We loved this condo! The amenities were superb! A beautiful, well stocked kitchen was a delight in which we made meals for the family. The beds were very comfortable. The art is beautiful. A lovely floral arrangement with welcome gifts greeted us upon our arrival! John was very prompt to answer any questions that we had. The information packet that John provided was a wealth of information regarding the condo and the surrounding area. The view was gorgeous! We had breakfast with delicious Maui coffee on the lanai every morning. So relaxing!! Sea turtles every evening and humpback whales in the bay were entertaining to watch! The property was very clean, well stocked with pots, pans, knives, beach towels and all the essentials for your stay. We loved the extra security we had with the motorized shade screen for the lanai. The only suggestion I could have is to provide soft pillows for the guest. We ended purchasing two sets (and left them behind, hopefully for the next guest). The pillows on bed were extremely firm and not comfortable for sleeping. Other than that small suggestion, we really appreciate the experience from the booking process and the great information provided by John to the ease of checkout!!

Not only were our hosts John and Trish welcoming and incredibly responsive, but they have created THE best condo EVER. They provided A LOT of handy information before arrival and also in the condo itself. We took many of the recommendations for things to do and places to eat.
We have stayed in many units in this condo building over the past decades and love its location and amenities, but many of the units are tired and dated. Not this one! This condo unit TOPS them all with its recent renovation and a decorating style that is bright, warm, and inviting — and we loved it! We shared the condo with my sister and her husband — their first trip to Hawaii.
The attention to detail shines with hooks, hangers, beach towels, snorkeling equipment, shampoo, sunscreen, plenty of closet space, tour books, hairdryers, first aid supplies. The list goes on and on and on.
And the kitchen? Where to begin? Sophisticated coffeemaker with a grinder for beans, espresso machine, spices galore, oils, flour, pans for everything, crock pot, plenty of glasses, beautiful placemats, kitchen towels. You get the idea. And eating on the ground level lana’i? Always!
We LOVED being on the ground level so we could walk directly out to the gorgeous lawn area and stroll to the harbor or watch the turtles or take a book out to read in the lounge chairs.
And in-unit washer and dryer ensures ease of doing your laundry!
I wish there were MORE stars to give the hosts and this condo unit. Five stars just don’t seem like enough!
PS. We LOVED the Yale lock on the front door. It made it easy for the 4 of us to have access to the condo without having to worry about a key.

This condo was just as the photos showed! Perfect for our family of four. Location was great and a short, but gorgeous 15 min drive both to Lahaina and Kihei. The grounds of the property were nicely kept and you have a beautiful ocean front view from the patio. Having this little slice of paradise to start your Maui mornings and end your Maui days was amazing! Close enough to the busy towns & beaches, but far enough away you feel the calmness and the relaxation of a true vacation! Would love to stay at John’s property again, he was a great host and always responded in a timely manner.

The condo is beautifully decorated with a classy beach vibe. The owners also have everything you may possibly need to make your stay superb. I especially appreciated the first aid kit, nice glassware, beach chairs, snorkeling gear & being on ground level! No waiting for an elevator or climbing stairs with all your beach gear! John was always available via text & responded promptly to any questions we had! LOVE this place! 5 stars for certain!

Our family of four thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Maalaea Kai (two teenage boys). This condo was perfect and had everything we needed and then some. The views are absolutely breathtaking and greeted us every morning…. about 8 steps to your ocean front lawn chair! Loved seeing the sea turtles on a daily basis. We particularly appreciated the interior design elements that truly separated this unit from other more dated ones. Beds/linens very comfortable, kitchen fully stocked, beach chairs, boogie boards, easy in, easy out - they thought of everything and we felt right at home. We spent most of our time at various different beaches and found this location perfectly situated in between Kaanapali and Wailea. We valued the privacy and tranquility of this resort, away from the more tourist filled areas, which we too visited. John provided a wonderful list of suggested restaurants, sights, beaches and activities and we likely checked off 75% of them- great recommendations!
Overall- we would confidently recommend this beautiful spot and hope you too can make lasting memories like we did.

Literally steps from the water out the patio door. The remodel was better than the pictures. Immaculately clean. Great kitchen with every imaginable kitchen utensil available for your use. To top it all off... The communication with John (the owner) was incredible! From prior to our stay, to during our stay, to follow-up after he was absolutely great. If you are looking to have a relaxing true Hawaiian experience, stay outside the tourist hustle, but still be close to everything... This is the place for you! You will not find a better condo experience!! Book it!!!

The property is absolutely gorgeous, extremely clean, the kitchen has everything you need, and the location is unbeatable! It is right in the middle of the island and close to anything you want to do. I think the best part about this property is the view. It is right on the ocean! You can hear the waves crashing as you drift off to sleep. My husband and I enjoyed sitting on the lounge chairs right off of our lanai every single morning with a cup of coffee brewed in the amazing espresso machine, watching the sea turtles, the surfers, and the waves crash over the rocks of the ocean. This is a must stay place. We can’t wait to come back. John was an amazing host!

The property was really comfortable, it had everything we needed for the week, we loved all of the beach supplies included. We did have to look around to find them, but once we did, we were good. My only criticism is the number of bath towels provided, with only 4, I had to wash them a few times during the week. I would stay in this property again. Also, it was great to walk outside and see the turtles everyday- this was one of the highlights of our trip!

My wife and I stayed at John and Trish's place in Maalaea a couple weeks ago (end of April 2022) and we were not disappointed at all! We would certainly stay here again without hesitation. Actually I feel that if we decided to make a trip back to Maui, the next words out of my mouth would be "I hope John and Trish's place is available." This condo lives up to the photos and impressed us with how well the space is utilized, how up to date it is, how clean it is and all the amenities it has. Anything you could ever need is already there and/or provided for you.
We actually got to meet John in person during our stay and you can tell this is more then an investment to him. He truly and sincerely wants to satisfy his renters - frequently requesting feedback so he can make the place even better. For example - my wife ordered a book from Amazon for the trip back that wasn't delivered in time to the condo. John actually ordered the book for us, paid for it and had it delivered to our home address. What an amazing, thoughtful gesture!
Location: While you are not able to directly access the water in front of the property, not without risk anyway, it is in a good location. Being somewhat central on the island the drive to northern beaches isn't that long and the drive to the southern beaches also isn't that long. Basically, about 30 minutes to both the northern and southern beaches (depending on the exact beach of course).
Goes without saying but we will certainly stay at John and Trish's place again on our next visit to Maui!

Perfect Property for Vacation!
This was a last-minute reservation as we decided to extend our vacation in Hawaii to see Maui. Everything was perfect from the initial communication to check out. The condo was very clean and very well equipped for a perfect vacation. The condo complex is also very clean and well maintained in the perfect central location to explore. The views from the condo are amazing, with Turtle's swimming outside daily. We will be back!

This is a beautifully appointed home with every conceivable amenity provided, including: high end appliances, incredibly well stocked kitchen, big screen tv, Netflix, sun hats, beach bags, and snorkeling gear. The attention to detail was simply incredible and no expense has been spared to enhance the guests' comfort and convenience.

Photos do no Justice! John’s place is just amazing. The views, you never want to leave specially for that morning sunrise. Being 5min walk to long stretch of beach for morning walks was fantastic. The kitchen is so well stocked. The mattresses and pillows are so comfortable. The bathrooms had everything you ever needed. The condo simply is stocked with all you will need, just impressive!
The location is also central that you’re midway to get to everywhere. Lastly, John was an amazing host, he was prompt and communicated everything from A-Z. His guide to local eateries was on point. He made everything so seem-less and even accommodated our late checkout. Thank you John! Hope to return soon:)

One of the best VRBO units I have stayed in. Clean, updated, well stocked unit with a nice floorplan. We are a family of 4 adults but it would be good for a family with little kids also. Beautiful view - sunrise & sunset. Walk out to grass and over to pool & BBQs. Turtles in rock water area during Tide changes. Beach park at end of road. Easy drive from airport, to Lahaina, Kihei, etc. Highly recommend!

This place was just perfect for our 10days stay in Maui! The apartment is amazing, all brand new equipment, very comfy! On top of that John brought a bunch of very useful infant stuff!
The sunset view is just magical and we loved to go watch the sea turtles in a small sanctuary just a few steps from the terrasse
It is well located on the island in the small maalaea harbor. This is the perfect place to visit the whole island!
John was really helpful and responsive for any questions we had and made our stay perfect. Thank you again! Can't wait to come back!

I’ll start with how friendly and accommodating the host (John) was throughout booking and our experience ~ very communicative, gave tips, checked in via text, responded immediately to all questions. He really cared that we were comfortable and enjoying our visit.
The unit is gorgeous! Others have commented on having everything for foodies and I Agree!!!

There are too many/so many little touches to list but, I will list a few ~ coffee & treats for us on arrival, lots of condiments & spices (check before you shop), great beach chairs for day trips, pool towels, nice shampoo & conditioner, big TV and the Sonos speakers were awesome. Did you notice the Tiki torches beach front that get lit Friday through Sunday ~ so cool!!!!
We loved being ground level as we could watch the turtles and whales right from the patio or walk out with the binoculars (provided) to see them. Lots of unit owners at this very well maintained complete who where extremely welcoming, to us. We met some really nice folks at the BBQ’s, Pool, and while they were dog walking.; terrific sense of community. We could have stayed longer as it was so comfortable.

Just got back from a week in John’s condo. It was great! Very clean and nicely updated plus it had a lot of extras! It had everything we needed and more. Great location too - easy to get to South and West Maui. We walked down to breakfast at Maalaea General Store for coffee and breakfast burritos that were great! The condo even came with the cutest, softest and friendliest neighborhood cat! We also saw lots of turtles right out back! Would definitely recommend!

We spent Thanksgiving here and it was truly magical! The condo is upgraded and truly feels like you are in a new home. Ground floor was so convenient to getting to pool/beach. We spent so much time on the lanai. Location is great too! Quiet area of Maui but centrally located. You can travel to any side of the island easily. Beds are all comfy! We came with our teenage daughters and have plenty of room! The kitchen is fabulous! We cooked most of the time so if you love to cook this place is for you! I can't say enough good things about John. He was truly the best host I have ever used on VRBO. We cannot wait to come back!

We had a fabulous time at the Ma'alaea Kai! The condo was immaculate with high end appliances and all the extras we needed for our stay. The pictures are accurate and the condo was super clean and thoughtfully decorated. There was plenty of space for the three of us.
The location of the ground floor was nice as we could walk out the patio door and lounge in the chairs on the grounds or stroll to the heated pool for a dip. The view from the patio overlooks the ocean where we saw many turtles and beautiful sunrises. There is plenty of privacy on the patio and it feels as if you are the only ones there (no buildings obstructing the view)!
The location of the condo is perfect for visiting west or south Maui. Maalaea harbor had nice happy hours and we were able to walk home! Try the mai tais at Tantes ($3.50) and the loaded irish fries at beachbums!
Our host (John) checked in on us and was super responsive to our needs!
We made memories to last a lifetime!

John thought of EVERY detail, I’m a travel nurse and often need to buy basic items in rentals. This has everything and extra sweet touches to make you feel relaxed in paradise. Can’t beat the ocean views!
