We loved our stay here! We live in Tallahassee and have rented a lot of beach places in North Florida, and this one was much more generously appointed and was very clean. Kitchen has great supplies, including saran wrap, tupperware, scissors, tape, spices including salt and pepper, dish soap, sponge, etc., things that are often not included. Similarly, there was spare shampoo, soap, and even sunscreen, probably left overs from previous renters, available for use. Even band-aids and antibiotic for scrapes and cuts! So generous! There was even laundry detergent for the washer and dryer and a Pack N Play baby crib in the closet. Also, lots of beach gear available to borrow - a boogie board, pool noodles, beach chairs, and it looked like some spare masks and fins and a beach umbrella, too. Really couldn't ask for more from a rental! The location was super convenient and quieter than closer to downtown, and we loved the tide pools in front - you are literally right on the beach and can hear the ocean at night, which I loved. We saw whales from the lanai as well as surfers. Also, lots of great books - the same guide book we brought, some books on the Hawaiian language, and pamphlets from the National Parks in the area. Really, really happy with our rental - many thanks for making it easy and fun for us!

Cute place. Loved the range hood, microwave. Nice ceiling fans. Pictures make it appear bigger than it really is. Clean. Well stocked with spices, toiletries, books, manuals, beach chairs, coolers, umbrella, noodles for pool. It has air conditioning!

The view was great, and overall a good experience. Parking was easy and there is an elevator if hauling up luggage and supplies to 3rd level. The condo AC was great for late afternoon and evening temps. We enjoyed sitting on the Lani and watching the surfers, Honu and the listening to the rhythm of the ocean. Cons, condo is a little outdated , furniture wise and some items need to be replaced due to rust. The dust also was caught on rust; example the lamps on the bedside. Decorative pillows had stains which makes guest uneasy especially if they are on the bed 😳. There is a pool but we never used or went in. It had no appeal. Overall satisfied.

The view is unmatched- watch the surfers and sea turtles from your balcony. This condo was also the best equipped of any of I’ve stayed in on the island or otherwise. It had beach towels, two beach chairs, a beach umbrella, several fans, laundry and dish soap and even extra toiletries including bug spray and sunscreen. The kitchen had seasonings, grill supplies and everything you need to pack up a picnic. Yes, the back bedroom is warmer, but crank up the air and keep the door open and it’s fine.

We were very happy with our unit. It was well appointed, comfortable and very clean. We especially appreciated the grab bars in the bathrooms and the sunscreens on the lanai. We loved the view from the lanai and spent most of our time there. And we enjoyed hearing the sound of the crashing waves from our bedroom at night. Additionally, the manager was very responsive to any concerns we talked to him about. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Our week at Kona Bali Kai 317 was most delightful the condo was better than we expected the location was perfect. We would rate it at 5 stars in all areas. The only comment is that the refrigerator ran all the time and was laboring it should be looked at by a repair person. The front door screen needs some kind of hook to keep it open as it hit one in the rear when entering. All in all, the condo, location & etc. was better than described.

This was my first time to Kona and it was amazing. The condo was Fabulous. The management was great addressing any questions or concerns. The view itself was spectacular. Everything was nice and clean with plenty of amenities. You don't have to worry about anything if you stay here. I will be back. We had a wonderful experience staying in 317 and the view really can't be beaten. There was plentiful parking, a fully equipped kitchen and several stand up air conditioners. I would suggest updating the living room furniture as it is stained outdated and a little uncomfortable to sit on.

The day before our arrival, we received a call letting us know that we were able to check in early. What a terrific surprise. When we arrived, the first thing we noticed was how beautiful the view is, it is breathtaking. The entire condo was immaculate and you could tell that the owner put immense thought into making it comfortable for guests. We had access to sunscreen, bandaids, plenty of towels and beach gear! The ice chests made our trips to the beach so nice. The location was ideal. We even walked down stairs to get a bite at Da Poke Shack, which was outstanding. I would LOVE to stay in this unit again.

This is the best-equipped condo we've ever rented in Hawaii. The kitchen had every necessary appliance, cookware, dinnerware, etc. (Well, it didn't have a whisk. First-world problems.) The washer/drier were new and full-featured. The TV had all the right streaming services. And the wi-fi worked great.
The bedrooms were very nice. The front BR had a comfortable, king-size bed, and the back BR had a nice queen bed. Bathrooms were spacious and well-stocked with towels. It's hard to tell from the photos, but the front BR *does* have a pocket door, despite looking like it has no door at all.
Despite some indications to the contrary, the unit has no A/C. In April, the place was cool enough, especially with the large ceiling fans. However, the back bedroom was a little warm at night if the door was closed.
The owner (or PM) went a little overboard on the labels everywhere (how the lights, fans, and showers worked; what switches control what, etc.). But it was oddly charming, like being around a forgetful parent.
Parking was plentiful, and we appreciated the under-building covered stalls. This was possibly one of the easiest condos we've had to park. Parking registration was odd. We just filled out the form and put it on our dashboard. The local "security," which the instructions say to register with, was never around and didn't reply to texts. No worries—we didn't get towed!
There's a tiny sandy area out front that works as a beach. Otherwise, it's lava rocks. The little lagoon right off the lanai is protected from the waves and frequently has sea turtles. The gentle shore break made for blissful waves that lull you to sleep (none of the "boom" you hear from larger waves).
All in all a delightful experience we'd be happy to repeat!

We loved this condo. The decor is even prettier than the photos show, the view of surfers and lagoon and waves is incredible. The sound of the surf was a treat. The lanai was totally clean and comfortable and inviting. The place is very thoughtfully stocked for the perfect vacation. I was so pleasantly surprised again and again. The beds were very comfortable and it was just an ideal space and location. The only suggestion I have is to get new dining room chairs as the present cloth sling chairs have sunken seats and the little pillow don’t make up for it so it is very uncomfortable to sit at the table and eat. Any size person also ends up sitting very low which is awkward and not inviting. The ease of getting there, the little beach out front to dip your feet in the water, the proximity to the ebb and flow of the waves and the ease of getting to Kona, South Kona, and the mountain communities was just fantastic. I would stay again in a heartbeat. The condo even has a notebook with details on the history of the region, guidebooks, and curated books and movies about Hawaii. I soaked it all in and really appreciated the thoughtfulness.

Tremendous location, beautifully maintained & furnished. Unit 317 has a great view of surfers & whales, is quiet and cool. Furnishings, appliances, kitchen tools, storge areas, cabinets, beach toys & directions are excellent, well labeled and fairly new. An example of the thoughtful furnishings: the porch has a third (excellent) fan, sun shades & a light. Lots of (higher end) towels, a walk-in shower, excellent (firm) mattress. One of the most enjoyable condos on Hawaii maintained as though it was your home.

Highly recommend staying staying at this location. Wonderful location, quiet, beautiful view, clean, and some nice amenities that most rental locations don't have, such as: handbook with ideas for your stay, pencil and paper available, night lights in the bathrooms, safety handle bars in shower, bathmats, enough soap for use for your stay. We had 4 adults in this unit and it was extremely comfortable. Of course, we were on the deck most of the time due to the beautiful veiw! The front bedroom was comfortable, I can not say 'quiet' because of the surf. We were there on a EXTREME high surf time and it was loud. We are beach people so we are used to it. We did need to close the sliders at night due to the beautiful noise. We found this condo very comfortable, temp wise we were never hot. The bed is super comfy and had many different pillows to choose from. Very well equipped with coolers and beach stuff. very well maintained and clean. I will definitely be returning!

Lovely little 2 bedroom apartment with countless little extras on hand, including kitchen items you might not think of and even extra beach towels. Red Awning associates were quite helpful and responsive, which was great since I had zero returned emails or phone calls from Wayne at Sunsets over a 2 month period, and the front desk was adamant that they were not to be involved with that portion of the rentals. I would recommend the location if the property manager was attentive.

Very nice condo… was a good size for 3 adults… exactly as pictured. Well maintained and clean. Beautiful views.. got to watch turtles nearly every morning. Good location. We are used to staying north of here, more in the heart of Kona, where things are within walking distance, but this location is only a couple miles from stores/restaurants. Lots of fans are available since there is no air-conditioning, but we went in October so it was comfortable. Wayne was a good host and answered all of our questions!

Loved everything about this unit! Stunning views, close to highways, as well as close to shops, dining and more. The extras (kitchenware, beach chairs and umbrella, coolers) made this condo unit beyond superb! Being within sight of one of the best Poke places on the island was also a HUGE plus!This is a great unit for couples or families with littles, teens or older folks. This condo is not like any other waterfront condo in Kona. The private beach area, never ending sounds of waves, as well unimpeded views of the ocean, surfers and sunsets makes this location one of THE best on the Big Island.

Perfect location that is within a short 2 minute drive to downtown Kona where shops and restaurants are located. The condo is exactly as pictured...beautifully decorated, clean, comfortable with all things you may need and the view is gorgeous. Sunset watching on the patio is the best. The pool is great, parking available, WIFI worked, instructions for how to use items, book full of ideas with things to do including food to try. Definitely a perfect stay!
