Perfect. As pictured and described. Beautifully maintained. Clean. Well stocked. The deck is a nice space to sit and read, or eat with your family. The bedrooms each sleep 2 comfortably. Note the loft is open to the living space (as pictured).Short walk to Tunnels beach. 16 minute drive to Hanalea. The communication with the staff was *great* and they provided us calm and correct guidance on how to evacuate during the recent tsunami warning.Recommend highly.

We loved everything about our stay at Hallor House and cannot wait to go back. Perfect location, walk to Tunnels so no parking hassles, awesome outdoor shower, comfy beds, amazing house, awesome deck to drink coffee on in the morning, we grilled dinner most nights, awesome space -absolute perfection!

My wife and I took our two twenty-something kids to Hawaii for a family vacation, including visit to Kaua'i. Hallor House was perfect for us as we needed at least two bedrooms, preferably with separate beds for brother and sister. House was very clean and well appointed. Kitchen had everything you could want -- all high-end stuff. Property manager very helpful and accessible. House was super comfortable. Great lanai. If you are looking for a quiet, mellow, north shore get-away that is close to arguably the best beach on the island (Tunnels), this is it.

This was a lovely home close to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Unfortunately the water was a bit rough to swim much this time of year, but we still enjoyed walking and playing on the beach.

Wonderful chance to stay on island like a local! House was perfectly appointed, comfortable and close to tunnels beach. One of the most beautiful beaches ever! The set up with wagon, umbrellas, chairs and towels made all the difference. Sophia the manager is the best— made everything easy! We loved our stay and look forward to another visit in future!

What an absolutely awesome little place. I had stayed in Kauai before but only saw the north shore from a helicopter at the end of my first trip. Made it a point to come back to Kauai and spend a week on the north shore. This house and this part of the island are what you dream Hawaii to be. Lush greenery everywhere with some occasional light rain coming down and dusting everything with life. Truly a dream. Will definitely come back again. The trail to tunnels beach is arguably hard to find but close. Apple Maps will take you there if you type in tunnels beach. It’s at the end of a small street. Parking is difficult at the lot down the road at the beach. You’re best to walk. The house has tubes, beach chairs, umbrellas, and everything you need to enjoy days at the beach. Book this house you won’t be disappointed. There’s really no need for a huge house on the island. Most houses are small. If I had the budget I would buy this place as a second home. I hope to come back again soon.

Had a wonderful time hanging out at this tidy house on a quiet cul-de-sac road with an easy short walk to the most beautiful beaches on Kauai.

Great location and property, although the 2nd bath grouting needs to be redone, it is moldy and stained. The plumbing in the 2nd bath shudders loudly when toilet flushed. But all-in-all we enjoyed our stay. Loved the outdoor shower and view of the waterfall.

Located on a cul-de-sac, a 10 minute walk to Tunnels Beach. House is equipped with beach towels, chairs, mats. Outdoor shower was a plus! Kitchen and bathrooms are supplied with all the products you will need for your stay. Outdoor table and chairs on the wraparound porch were the perfect place for morning coffee and afternoon refreshments. The loft had great breezes and the first place to view the sunrise. The concierge was responsive and helpful. Our family had a wonderful time here!

Lovely home steps from Tunnel’s Beach with great snorkeling and beautiful sunsets. Almost felt like a private beach with very few other visitors there. The house was well maintained and well equipped for our needs - very comfortable. Thank you!

I know, I know, it is totally a personal statement, but I think this home is located just off one of the most magical beaches on earth. If you are considering staying here, DO. Just do. The house is perfect, it's clean, great kitchen, great loft for kids to sleep in. Check-in and communication was excellent, easy. The real thing you are doing by renting this house though is gaining access to a part of Kauai that is so tricky to access otherwise. You can walk (coffee in hand for sunrise and beer in hand for sunset) to the MOST beautiful beach, barefoot, multiple times a day. There are chairs and towels and coolers....anything you might need to just relax and enjoy. Again, I just can't recommend this home enough....it is such a gift to spend time at.

We were very happy with our stay in Haena. We had been under the impression from the photos that the home was closer to the beach than it actually is, but there is a short walk through the trees that, while not obvious, gets you to the beautiful Tunnels Beach. Snorkeling here was amazing and the home has everything you need for your beach day. The location is also very convenient for hiking the Na Pali coast and exploring the shops in Hanalei Bay. Recycling was also not obvious, but when asked the property manager provided some instructions. All in all, we'd recommend this home for anyone looking for a relaxing place to spend some time on Kauai.

The property was in a great location, close to beaches and town for supplies. Everything was very good except for a few small things that we noticed. A significant number of the electrical outlets were not working so it made recharging our devices challenging. There was no broom and the vacuum isn't the greatest so there were challenges keeping the floor clean. Last, the tubs had giant hair clogs, causing 6 inches of water to accumulate druing showers. We tried to clean them out but suggest some kind of drain trap to prevent this in the future. Overall it was a very nice place to stay and we would certainly return.

My husband and I stayed at Hallor Hale with our 20-something daughter, son and future daughter-in-law and it was fabulous. We had plenty of room to spread out and the beach was a 5-10 minute walk down the road (you could also drive down and park if you had a lot of beach gear); the entrance is a little hidden, so don't be afraid to go down some of those alleyways that aren't marked "private" to see if there's an entrance. The house has a beautiful outdoor deck for drinking your coffee and watching the sun come up over the mountains. It was well equipped in the kitchen and bathroom, everything was clean and inviting, and our local property manager was very responsive when we had questions. Our view was fantastic with the mountains in the background and lots of exotic birds singing to us in the mornings. We went in mid-March, and even with spring break, our beach was quiet. The house has a lot of equipment for the beach too (chairs, bucket and shovels, snorkeling equipment, boogie board, coolers, umbrellas, noodles, etc.) -- definitely take advantage of the snorkeling equipment because the snorkeling at Tunnels Beach was amazing. We saw lots of beautiful fish and rock formations. I wouldn't recommend renting bikes to keep at the house as there are no nearby bike paths and the roadway is very narrow with lots of sharp curves that you can't see around. The nearest town is Hanalei, about a 15 minute drive from our house. There was a small grocery store there with most of the basics, but if you wanted a grocery store with a greater variety, you need to drive to Princeville, which is about 25-30 minutes away. Also lots of good restaurants and cute shops in Hanalei, as well as an outstanding kayaking/paddleboard business where you could paddle up or down the river toward the ocean or into a wildlife refuge. Absolutely fabulous and even a beginner can do it. Be aware that this house is located on the far northern side of the island and even though the distance from the airport to the house isn't far in miles, it takes an hour and a half to get there from Lihue, because of the winding, narrow coastal roads (with beautiful views) you take, so you'll definitely want to rent a car. This is what made it so tranquil though. We were close to Hanalei, which is touristy, but we felt more like locals because we were in a somewhat "rural" area, close to Haena State Park. Loved every minute of it and were sad to leave.

The property manager was very helpful, with great communication from start to finish. I would stay here again and recommend to friends without hesitation. Bed in master bedroom is super-soft (only bed we used), pressure and heat in the shower is good, and the kitchen is organized well. We loved the peaceful location close to the beach and away from the crowds.

We loved the house and how remote it was. We enjoyed Tunnels Beach which was a short walk from the house and how close it was to the Na Pali Coast. We enjoyed the restaurants in Hanalei. It was a fantastic place to spend a week and relax.

This house was absolutely perfect for our group of 4 adults and 2 kids. The location just can’t be beat, literally a 5 minute walk to the most beautiful beach with a backdrop of stunning lush mountains and cliffs. We saw dozens of different varieties of tropical fish, turtles and seals when the waves were calm enough to snorkel. The sunrises and sunsets produced brilliant, vivid colors in the sky and sea that were picture perfect. The beds were cozy and our kids loved their loft. There is no AC but the fans work well to keep things comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare nearly every meal at home right down to the garlic press (although the chefs knife was missing from the block). We especially appreciated all the beach gear provided (snorkeling gear, chairs, umbrella, insulated cooler, matts, towels, frisbee, paddle ball and even big beach bags for carrying it all). Hanalei Bay is adorable, had everything you need and is just a short beautiful drive away. We want to come back every year!

This property is amazing! It has been updated and it is well taken care of. It is in a quite area of Hanea. It is a 20 minute drive to Hanalei but it is literally on tunnels beach. It took 5 minutes in the jungle path walk. We went out and snorkeled every morning and watched the sunset every night. I have already recommended it to friends and we will be booking it in the future as well.
