GREAT location by Charley Young Beach and our family loved this beach! Condo was clean and had all the amenities needed. Bonus was a fantastic washer and dryer that I used almost daily. Overall I would recommend the condo to others if they were looking at a place to stay.

We were very happy with our stay. The kitchen had everything we needed and the north facing unit helped to keep us cool along with the nice AC unit. The beds were comfy and it was nice to have 2 full bathrooms for the 4 of us staying there. We were happy to have the 4 beach chairs and umbrellas. There are BBQ's down by the pool which were handy. The pool and hot tub were lovely. It only took about 3 minutes to walk to Charley Young beach which was calmer than Kam III and lots of space to set up for the day. We would definitly go back!

This place was perfect. When you’re in Hawaii you don’t spend a ton of time inside but we were super comfortable when we did. The directions to get there to park and find the apartment were amazing. The host was super clear on everything. The house had beach toys and plenty of towels too. And a nice touch was the water filter in the fridge. Thank you for a great stay!

The place had two spacious bedrooms with their own bathrooms. Nice sitting area and great air conditioning. Patio was small and the view wasn’t the greatest , but I don’t spend a lot of time inside. Places to eat and the beach weee a close walk. Very nice place.

Everything was just right. The kitchen had everything that we needed and I feel like we tend to need more than some. There was beach gear saving us from renting it. The place was outfitted with all the basic stuff we would need (I don’t understand places that only give you a starter amount of dish soap and TP). I missed an email with the entry info and the host was quick to respond and really helpful. This place just had some thoughts with touches making it work really well for us. Pool and location to beach were great. I recommend walking south to the stores when you need something or there’s a foodland nearby just to the north. All in all great visit.

We stayed with my parents for a week here. The kitchen was stocked perfectly with all the important things we needed (good non stick pan, coffee pot, utensils, ice packs etc). This is the first unit I’ve stayed at in Maui/Kihei that the air conditioner actually works very well and doesn’t heat up the moment it turns off. The air circulation in the unit was perfect because the bedrooms were not muggy at night. It was wonderful. The checkin and check out processes were great. Would highly recommend this place!

This condo was centrally located, well laid out, with close access to the pool/hot tub. Located on the shady side of the building which made it much cooler for sleeping. Although there was NO view, the atrium outside the front door of the unit was bright with afternoon sun. All the beach supplies were provided, chairs, towels, toys, cooler, and umbrellas which was an incredible bonus. Kitchen was well equipped. As stated in the description, you need to be able to use stairs from the elevator to the unit which can be challenging for strollers or wagons. All in all, a nice unit for a family stay.

Ideally located near central Kihei and main roads, the property was perfect as a starting and ending point for the day. As others have pointed out, it is quiet even with it's proximity to everything. The kitchen was well apportioned, but we only cooked a meal or two, instead choosing to eat out most meals. Only consideration is that the parking spot is a little tight- though this is true for all parking on all the islands. All in all, a great time.

This was a perfect little condo for our family of four. It was clean and everything in working order. We had an issue with the front door at first, but used the pad key with code and had no problems. It was quiet even though it is close to Kihei’s beaches and eateries. We had a great time and would recommend this place to our friends and family. Mahalo!

This 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom condo is located in the ideal location in Kihei. It's a 3-minute walk to Charlie Young Beach, and a 30-40 minute drive from the airport. We (four sisters) found the condo clean, the kitchen well stocked, and although there wasn't a view of the mountains or ocean from the balcony, on the plus side there was no direct sunlight, which kept the condo cool. The owner was very responsive to my inquiries before and during our stay. I'm very happy to recommend staying here.

As indicated, this is a small condo on the shady side of the building. There are a few steps to go up after getting off the elevator, but they weren't bad. We choose not to use the AC because it is noisy, however with it being Nov. the fans were sufficient. We had a handful of issues with various things in the condo, but George was quick to reply to our calls, texts and emails. We were able to resolve all the issues with his help and directions (and tech support for the Wi-Fi).. We understand that normally he travels to Hawaii a few times a year and takes care of repairs and updates in the condo, but with Covid has not been able to do that for many months,. He is a hands-on owner, whose desire is to make your stay seamless and comfortable.

Pros:
Location was great, well situated in Kihei.

Cons:
Unit is not on the same floor as the elevator stop- need to carry all luggage up stairs
AC is tiny and did not cool quickly, owner also had the unit on a timer switch to prevent running it too long and getting the unit cool.
The bed in the second bedroom was awful, like a box spring was broken or something. I had debilitating back pain after sleeping on it for two days and had to sleep on the couch thereafter. Ruined my vacation
There was sand on the units floor in a few places - specially outside the bathroom and near the washer dryer.
Though the condo had two assigned parking spots, we were only given access to 1. The visitor spots in the community were very few in number, far from the unit and always occupied by others so we had to park on the street all the days we were there.

We were pleasantly surprised to find the condo to be very clean, well stocked and comfortable. When we first entered the property we noticed just how cool the condo was for such a hot and humid day…this was much appreciated, especially after visiting family at another property that did not have a/c. It was so convenient to have a washer and dryer in the unit and every time we opened a closet we found more goodies. From beach chairs, to umbrellas, a tent, beach toys, bodyboards, beach towels, ice chests, pool noodles, etc….they thought of and provided everything!!! The location was extremely convenient and walking distance to many beaches and restaurants. We got in the habit of walking just across the street to watch the sunset on the beach every night, which was such a lovely experience. The only issue we had was with the design of the elevator. As advertised, there was a functioning elevator on the property, however, what was not mentioned is that it stopped in between floors and not on our actual floor. We had an infant in a stroller, so every time we entered or exited the property, we had to carry the stroller either up or down approximately 8 steps to access the elevator. We managed to make it work but it was no easy task and I can’t imagine what someone would do if they were wheelchair bound or struggled with stairs. Other than that, this was a wonderful condo to stay in and I would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Kihei.

This was such a great option to stay with our kids! The beach was literally across the street and while we visited several other beaches, it just happen to be the best one we visited. Not too crowded. Decent waves (enough for adults to enjoy and for younger children to boogie board on). Loved that the apt came with all the things you will need for the beach - beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, beach toys, pool noodles, boogie boards, floaties...my kids loved and appreciated all the options. The AC is not as strong as I'm used to, but if you turn on the fans and let the air circulate, it gets cool enough. My only "complaint" is that there was no body wash provided. Most rentals I use provide you with body wash, but this one did not, they just gave 2 small bar soaps. Not enough for a family of 4. Also, the pillows could use an upgrade, but the bed was comfortable. Would definitely rent again if we come back to Kihei! We also could not figure out how to register the car with the insurance required (it was required by building ownership). George was super helpful and quickly took care of it for us!

Keyless entry was great for a beach condo and having beach gear was an added bonus!! Kihei is a great Maui location if you love to try lots of things… boogie boarding, surfing, snorkeling, and hanging out on a great beach.

We have taken family trips every summer to Hawaii (mostly Maui) since 2000, typically staying in a favored condo across from Kam III beach. For this year's trip we needed to revamp our budget to make things work, so we decided to try a VRBO for a second time in the last couple of years.
This condo (Pacific Shores) is in a convenient location almost directly across from Charley Young beach. This is just north of the Kamaole I beach and about half a mile south of Kalama Park. If you were here just to enjoy the beaches and didn't mind some short walks either direction, you would be able to find almost everything you would need for a stay without a car.
The condominium unit is relatively small, guessing in the neighborhood of 700 or so square feet, but it was suitable for four of us for the duration of our visit. The condo included two Tommy Bahama beach umbrellas, some older beach towels and four beach chairs which was a welcome touch. Having a washer and dryer in the unit is always a must for us, as a couple of times we have stayed for a week or longer in places without and that just makes the logistics for a stay of that duration too difficult.
The biggest issue we ran into in our stay here was that when we arrived, the condo unit had not been cleaned from the previous renters. This was a bit of a shock, but the property manager was very responsive and got in touch with his cleaning service right away only to be told that there had been a family emergency and that the full cleaning had not yet taken place. That the cleaning service did not communicate this earlier to the property manager is hard to understand, as he is not there and relies on this service to do its job. Again, there is no fault to the property manager who got right on top of the situation and let us know what had happened, but we had to completely clean the kitchen, wash the linens, purchase tp, paper towels, laundry detergent, dish soap, and other similar items that normally would have been there.
The unit comes with an assigned parking space, a nice touch.
One additional note is that the Wifi available at the unit is significantly old, and our phone devices would not allow connecting to it due to potential security issues. I ended up having to use a VPN on my computer in order to access work a few times, but it was exceptionally slow.
In summary the rental fit our expectation of a less expensive, no frills place to stay during our recent Maui visit.

We just returned from a weeks stay and are very happy with our experience. Well stocked condo that includes beach equipment. A short walk across the street and down a half a block brought us to a wonderful beach and a beautiful sunset nightly. George quickly offered advise when we contacted him. The condo unit was lovely and blessedly quiet. Easy access to food stores and shopping. Only about a 20 min ride to the airport and Costco. Great location, responsive owners, and condo as represented.

George was very easy to work with and communicated quickly. We needed to add a day to our stay and he was very accommodating. The condo was great for 4 of us! Couches were comfortable and it was in a nice location. Only downside to the stay was the complex property didn’t have anywhere for a larger group (my other kids and grandkids were in another unit in the complex) to eat outside, as they put away all the tables by the grills outside because of COVID. We did other things together, but it would have been nice to make and share meals.

We were pleased with how well stocked the home was, we cooked in a couple of nights after long days on the beach. I found the unit with two bedrooms and two bathrooms worked well for two couples.
The kitchen was fully equipped and all appliances were user friendly... not overly high tech.
Washer and dryer, a must for me, worked well.
Although we didn't need them, as we had our own, the boogie boards, beach chairs and beach umbrella, would have been a real plus and greatly appreciated.
The unit was well situated, i.e., across the road from the beach, and close to shopping.
We had rented an SUV as we wanted to travel the entire Island but could have gotten by without a vehicle as everything that was essential was within walking distance.
Previous guests had left non perishable food items which were much appreciated and saved us considerable outlay of $s. The small lanai did not allow for all four of us to gather there but as we spent little time lounging there was not a big negative for us.
We found the pool, spa, and BBQ area well maintained and attractive and used it almost every night.
All in all we were well satisfied with our accommodation and have no reservations in recommending it.
Communication with the owner was professional, courteous and prompt.

Excellent location and found the condo to be in very good condition . Very private on the quiet side of the building . Excellent for 2 couples and loved the big screen tv and free long distance . The complex has a smaller pool but nice facilities for barbequing . ( a small issue with needing a key to enter and exit the pool barbeque area if there are many in your party) I would stay at this condo again and the owner was very accommodating .

The pool and hot tub were too dirty and the hot tub was closed for cleaning for over a day. The homeowner who I rented from was great and if he were around more I think my stay would have been much better!? I'm a vacation rental owner and I myself wouldn't be ok with how Pacific Shores maintains the pool/hot tub and how the security is so very sparse. With my experience with vacation rentals I will probably not return to Pacific Shores but I would rent from this homeowner again if they have another property other then Pacific Shores.
