We stayed with my family last week. The resort has a great pool and restaurant. Two bedrooms and a massive balcony with a great view gave us joyful memory in Maui.
Janet stocked all gear so we did not have to rent anything when we went to other beaches. (I donated one more kid snorkeling gear for the next guest. :) ). We would love to come back in the future.

We stayed with my family last week. The resort has a great pool and restaurant. Two bedrooms and a massive balcony with a great view gave us joyful memory in Maui.
Janet stocked all gear so we did not have to rent anything when we went to other beaches. (I donated one more kid snorkeling gear for the next guest. :) ). We would love to come back in the future.

Stayed here with my husband and 3 adult sons at the end of May. This place was perfect! Loved the space and view on the Lanai. The many pools and hot tubs made it feel spacious and not crowded. Family-friendly. Loved the little convenient shop downstairs and having Duke's was awesome, surrounded by torches at night! Easy access to the beach path and ocean. Had concerns with the other reviews about waiting for the valet but we found it was super easy access to the parking garage from the unit so we were in/out in no time on our own time. Would definitely stay again!

Our experience at Janet’s place Honua Kai Konea was absolutely fantastic, creating unforgettable memories for my family and me. While we did have a partial ocean view, it was the breathtaking Mountain View from the condo's lanai that truly left us in awe. The Nana folding glass door/wall was a huge wow factor! It seamlessly connected the indoor living room to the outdoor lanai, and added a touch of brilliance to this place. We cherished our mornings and evenings on the lanai, relishing in delightful breakfasts and dinners. The bathroom was spacious and elegant, while the kitchen had all the essentials we needed. The convenience of having a washer and dryer in the unit was an added bonus.
Moreover, the condo provided beach amenities such as chairs, umbrellas, sand toys, and floaters, enhancing our beach experience. Our 2 and 5-year-old children were overjoyed with the condo facilities, especially the pool. We spent 2-3 hours each day swimming and having a blast on the fantastic water slide. The location of the condo area was ideal, with the beach just a few steps away, offering a scenic walking path and a perfect spot to admire the captivating sunset. Duke's restaurant on site and the nearby food truck area, a mere 8 minutes' walk from the condo, provided a diverse selection of delicious meals. Two fo the nights we picked up dinner from the food trucks and enjoyed it on the lanai, relishing the flavors in the comfort of our temporary home. Additionally, there was a Times Supermarket conveniently located across from the food trucks.
In summary, our stay at Honua Kai Konea was an extraordinary way to celebrate my birthday and Mother's Day. We hope to return to this amazing place in the future, as it truly exceeded our expectations. Aloha!

Room was nice, same with resort. Dukes located on property help with lunches, dinner, and drinks. Only issue we had was that the room had only 1 bathroom. For a family of 5 that was a challenge. But other than that we enjoyed the room.

Janet was so accommodating and great at communicating prior to the trip. The condo had beach equipment which was helpful and the towel service was convenient. It sometimes took a while to get from the condo to outside or vice versa, but no one minded too much. Overall a lovely stay in a lovely condo.

We enjoyed our stay in this unit. We appreciated having a 2nd bedroom for our 9&11 year old as well as the full kitchen for most breakfasts and snacks. The communication with the owner as well as having a point person during the week was great as well as the cleanliness of the unit. AC worked well. I will mostly remember my morning coffee staring at the gorgeous mountain right in front. The ocean view is far and small over to the right but honestly the view was open airy and majestic. Loved it. Things that could improve are 1. the bathroom could use updating…quite dark and older fixtures and tiling and toilet seat worn down. 2. The kitchen was bare bones with equipment…no plastic bags, no foil or plastic wrap, no Tupperware, no cork screw, no coffee cups or thermos to go. 3. Parking is terrible, my husband took 45 min to get parking after dinner at the garage our first night, so we ended up checking first but then valeting every night and then had to wait for our car a long time for it to be brought up in the AM bc valet is understaffed. Getting from our car to our unit and visa versa was a trek Esp since the elevator closest to our door was broken most of the week. We’d need 20-30 min to get into our car and off to our excursions.
Other than those specifics I would absolutely recommend this unit and resort. Fond Memories made here will be with our family forever.

The unit is spacious and the kitchen is well stocked. Nice to have a washer and dryer when you are staying with kids. The foldout couch is a good size. Twin beds/mattresses in one of the rooms are somewhat uncomfortable and make loud noises every time you turn in bed, and that can cause repeated awakenings. Other than that, no complaints. Plenty of seating. Plenty of toilet paper, paper towels and such, which is convenient. The resort property itself is nice. Good pools, plenty of hot tubs. Easy to use beach towel borrow/return system. Beach is not great for swimming but black rock beach is a short drive away. Kids still loved jumping in the waves in the several spots that didn’t have sharp rocks cutting their feet, and they spent what felt like hours building sand castles.
It was a great stay. I would definitely recommend this unit, especially for a family stay.
Oh, one more point: there were some beach chairs and a pool float in the unit, and we used both. There’s also a cooler. We did not use it, but convenient if it’s something you might need. We left another pool float and plenty of sand toys for the next family who will be enjoying their stay in this unit.

Spacious property in large complex. Great proximity to the ocean at the less busy end of Kaanapali beach. Large balcony with ocean and Mountain View - great for morning sunrise coffee and family dinners. Everything you need is provided. Just show up and relax.

We loved our stay at Honua Kai and both the on-site property manager Monty and owner communicated with us regularly about some property changes and to check in with us before and during our stay. The unit was stocked with everything we needed.
The only thing I would point out is that some of the doors, door frames and walls could have been wiped down with some cleaner or bleach water as there were some finger/handprints from previous guests (possibly makeup/sunscreen). I happen to travel often and keep cleaner wipes on my so I wiped down what I could see. But honestly it’s things I have seen missed at nicer hotels.
I would definitely stay here again given the location and amenities!

We love the Honua Kai resort and this unit was perfect for our family of 4. The property has all the amenities you need, our kids love the pools and water slide. There was even great snorkeling right out front-we saw fish, turtles and eels. Everything was clean and there are beautiful views from the lanai. Would love to stay again. My only minor suggestion would be to have better pillows on the main bed!

Thankfully the unit looked just as expected from the pictures. The view was gorgeous and rooms were spacious. The pool and beach are steps away. We walked down to the beach every night to watch the sunset and don’t forget the chairs that are provided. Kaanapali Beach where you can take the family to swim and play was a 5 minute drive. Downtown Front street with restaurants and shopping is a 15 min drive. Great unit and great location!

We just returned home from a great week in Maui! Honua Kai was exactly where we wanted to be in a convenient location for all that Kaanapali and Lahaina have to offer. Check in was easy and fast. Our rented unit was clean and kitchen was well stocked with dishes. The welcome basket of Hawaiian coffee and chocolates was a nice treat and the sand toys and boogie boards were a nice surprise for our kids. They provide two beach chairs, an umbrella and a cooler as well. We’ve been to Maui several times and never stayed at Honua Kai and we were very happy with our stay. Communication from Janet and Marty were on point and they really made an effort to make sure we were taken care of! We’d definitely stay again.

Communication with the owner was easy, and upon arrival, the property manager was very good about reaching out and ensuring we had everything we needed. Check-in and check-out process was very easy. Be aware that the property is very under staffed at the moment. There was only 1-2 bell hop staff at any given time so we had to wait quite a while to unload our car upon arrival. Parking spots fill up fast in the evenings so we had to valet park our car (free of charge) and wait quite a while at times for the valet. This is our 10th stay at the property and will continue to stay there as the grounds are well maintained and the location is very convenient to Lahaina, market, food options, and right on the beach.
