We loved our stay.
Pros:
The view from the windows is breathtaking; you can't beat it.
The apartment has direct access to the beach, which was not crowded at all.
The apartment is stocked with everything you may need (beach chairs, towels, kitchen supplies). The only thing you may need to bring is a cooler.
It has a washer and dryer.
The location is pretty convenient; it was close to all of our destinations.

There was a 'fishy' smell outside when it was windy.
In my opinion, it's not the prettiest part of the island.
It's a great apartment if you rent a car and plan to explore the island. I would stay again.

First off, the view from this rental is stunning. You are right on your very own, very private beach. You won't need your noise machine to sleep here because the ocean waves are right outside your window. The location is great because you are minutes from Big Beach, which has been named the most beautiful beach on the island. Plus it's easy to get to all the tourist attractions in the northwest part of the island. For the rental itself, it was very nicely equipped. All the cooking utensils you need and some surprise benefits like chairs to take to the beach, sunscreen available, and even beach towels for you to use. The washer and dryer were great and allows you to pack less than you normally would. They even had beach totes available to pack up everything you would need for a day at the beach. Plus, two air condition units in the rental allows you to keep it as cool as you could want. Any negatives with this rental were very minor. They have a small cooler available for use, which we used every day, but the top is ripped, so it doesn't stay sealed, but it kept our things cool. The garage door opener was held together with tape, so it had a tendency to come apart on us, but we found more tape in the unit and reinforced it and it did fine. But the fact that it has a garage door opener lets you know that you have underground garage parking, which is extremely nice and keeps your car cool. I would definitely stay here and recommend it to anyone who is visiting Maui.

Communication from property management was great. Condo had positives and negatives: AC worked great, kitchen and bathroom were well supplied, location was great. All the windows leaked onto walls and floors during a rainstorm, the dryer kept shutting off indicating the clean filter on every load, the screen on the slider kept sticking and going off track. Sherry was very helpful in managing the wet floors and made sure all our wet towels were cleaned by the maid, after the rain storm.

Room was excellent, both tv's worked including cable and internet connection was very good.Supplies were also good... we cooked numerous meals in kitchen. All appliances worked. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We have come to expect clean and well stocked rooms and this was no exception. We always look first to Kealia when planning our trips.Even the eight hour flight went well.

I will definitely rent this condo again! Updated decor, nice sized unit. The view is spectacular. Well appointed kitchen (I prepared Thanksgiving dinner). We stayed with our adult son and felt it was spacious enough for the 3 of us.

Great view and direct access to the beach; part of a large concrete condo. The main office was oddly never open during our stay, so we never registered our vehicle as requested; but there were clear instructions to get access to the room and garage. The room seemed clean, but not the patio. Well furnished and stocked with chairs, coolers, beach towels, etc. The location is also nice, quick access to Kihei, Kahului, etc.

Amazing view and location. Only issue was the AC. We were under the impression that there was AC throughout the whole condo but there is only AC in the living room and the main bedroom. The AC in the main bedroom was not working correctly upon check-in and we let the manager know, they looked at it and said it was fine but two days later it was totally broken. It took two more days for the AC to be fixed which made the stay difficult for a few nights but overall it was a great stay. The condo was really comfortable and had great views and amenities.

The Good
-The view is lovely. The condo was stocked with dishes, pots and pans, spices, oils, medicines, lots of towels, blankets, extra sheets, and loads of beach toys and boogie boards. The property grounds is well maintained. The location of the condo on the island is great. It’s halfway between all the West Maui beaches and the South Maui beaches.
The Really Bad
-The pool—oh the pool. My 11 year old daughter wanted to swim in the pool everyday when we returned from our adventures. However…the pool had “adult time” (ages 18+) from 12-1 and 5-9 everyday. That’s the time she wanted to swim—after 5pm. It seems from 12-1 is when two old ladies who live at the condo do their “exercise” (they float around the pool a few times on pool noodles). Then, from 5-9, the pool sits empty except for the amorous couple who’d run off the two old ladies. My daughter would sit on the balcony eyeing the pool and lamenting how it wasn’t being used. Later in our stay, a family showed up, disregarded the rules and let their kids swim every night. This stung even more because we are rule followers. If you have kids who love pool swimming, maybe skip this place. Even when it was kid time in the pool, we would get a lot of side eye from the older ladies.
-The pool. Did you see the pool comment? I had to mention it again because is was annoying every. single. day. If I would have know about the crazy pool rules, I wouldn’t have booked here. I spoke to several other families staying there and they said the same thing. There is also a sign entering the pool are that states no screaming, no horseplay, no big movements, no fun of any kind. Ok, I made up the the last two, but they aren’t far off. There is a sign posted that says no diving or jumping in the pool—it is for swimming only. Seriously?
Apparently, one of the condo owners said this new pool rule for no kids just happened a couple of months ago (after we booked). She was completely against it (as were the managers). The condo board passed it quietly without input from other owners. How terrible. And how sneaky to not say anything to people who booked their trips prior to passing the no kids rule???

Condo was perfect for my family of 4. Beautiful view of the ocean is seen as soon as you open the front door. Coffee in the morning on the balcony is a must. A quick 5-7 minute drive to beautiful beaches and everything you need while staying in Maui. Would rent here again!

Great location, quiet area, next to long secluded beach walk. 2 bedroom unit with oceanfront views and all amenities needed for a self contained holiday. BBQ area is my favourite of all the places we’ve stayed on Maui, right on the beach to cook and watch the sunset. Unit isn’t huge for a 2 bedroom but was big enough to manage 4 adults. Will return again.

Can't really beat the central location that you get from being in Kihei. Condo was very clean, little cramped for 4 people with 1 bathroom but very livable and doable. Only real negative was the anti-family rules that the condo itself has such as children only being allowed in the pool at certain times, which happened to be in the middle of the day.

We loved staying in unit 404! The unit had amazing views and was very comfortable! Only suggestion I would make is to invest in some new beach chairs. Since the complex does not allow the lounge chairs to be used on the beach and the chairs provided we small and not conducive to lounging on the sand. Minor annoyance but worth mentioning.

I loved this place as it felt like a hidden gem. It is located right on a beautiful beach but not crowded. The description was accurate and the location was great! You can tell that there is a lot of pride/care in the overall management of the building. We saw most of Maui during our stay and this spot was my favorite as it was beautiful views and very peaceful.

If you want to be right on the beach and have amazing views of the ocean from every room, this is the place. We enjoyed ourselves. The condo had beach toys, chairs, and towels. The only negative was the lack of proper cooling in the second bedroom, otherwise the ceiling fans in the rest of the unit worked well. This condo was also within half a mile of the best "shave ice" we've ever had, Ululani's!!! We would stay here again!

A thrilling view over the ocean and walkable beach at one's feet. Sherry the manager was very helpful. The property is very sunny in the afternoon, and the lanai is exposed and is never fully shady -- the biggest drawback for me. I had difficulty with climate control in the bedroom because of the airconditioner. I didn't sleep well. Excellent kitchen and washer/dryer. Just outside of Kihei -- car needed for almost everything. Bathroom sink could use effective stopper. Second bedroom is not airconditioned. I stayed a month and had a moderately good time.

Overall the place was great!
The only exception is that the photos need updated. The living room furniture has changed with a simple sofa and chair. Nothing to be concerned about, but noteworthy.
The kitchen was superb with updated appliances and newer washer and dryer installed. The bedrooms were comfortable and all face the ocean.
The property management was friendly and helpful when the garage door opener failed. They replaced it immediately.
The grounds are well maintained as the crew was onsite daily doing general cleanings and maintenance.
You cannot go wrong renting this property as all windows face the ocean which allow breezes to flow through. The place is steps to the beach and the pool. We rented in December for 11 nights and could not have been happier with our stay.

We have been to Maui eight times now. We always stayed on Sugar Beach, we really enjoy it there. We have stayed with Kealia resort 3 times and have allways enjoyed it. Very nice units,great veiws,not much else you can ask for.The only draw back form other resorts in that localation is the lack of personal customer service from the on site Manager or Office person. The City had a water main break, so there was no water four about 24hours and the Managment did not have any help for its guest at all. We were very dissapointed that they have no guest emergency preparedness plan for the guest who come stay with them. We will take that into consideration with the other resorts on Sugar beach.

Very nice location for us. Very quiet, away from the crowds. No nightlife, no bars or restaurants nearby. Which means no crowds so as I said perfect for me. Beach is very nice and almost private. Walked for miles everyday. Again no crowds. Building is nice, however starting to show its age. Suite 404 is nicely renovated, had everything we needed. Unbelievable views from the windows and lanai. Saw whales 100 ft off shore. Awesome. First time in 404 3rd time at this building. Definitely coming back here again

Bumped from the original room but was given a 2 bedroom for the same price, just difference in cleaning fee. Very good central location to get to many sites. Read other reviews about wind noise but never had an issue with it. The room AC is a little noisy but cooled the place off in no time.

The Kealia is a great property. We really enjoyed our stay. 404 is a beautiful unit. Great views, spacious, and clean. The king bed is very comfortable. Updated walk-in shower, leather furniture in the living room, nice patio table and chairs, granite counter tops. The only 2 items that can use updating is the dining room table and fridge. The property is well maintained, very friendly atomosphere. Beautiful beach. Enjoyed many walks and sunsets. Liked the location as well - very convenient to all the major sites.
