Ocean view from the lanai is a perfect place to enjoy morning coffee, meals and sunsets. Comfortable Sleep number bed and living room couch. The condo is decorated with beautiful historic photos, maps and island charm. The kitchen and bathroom are well stocked with quality amenities. We had everything we needed at the condo to make our stay enjoyable and stress free. Great location, easy walk to many places in Kona. We had a great stay at the Kona Reef and Lori is a phenomenal host. Some features of this unit certainly separate it from the reviews of others nearby: cleanliness, comfortable king sized bed, smart tvs, oceanfront lanai, pool, jacuzzi, quiet/functioning air conditioning.
The condo is a great jump off place for walking kona, and traveling to all the adventures around the island. Great proximity to the beachfront bars and shops. The maintenance crew of the building appears to keep the grounds very tidy, and pool clean, as you can see them hustling every morning.
Lori left us some welcome gifts, was very accommodating and communicative. Seemed to offer as little or as much communication as you need, we fall into the “less is more” category. I would say she offered us the most gracious hosting style we have had while traveling! Thank you again!
We tend to skip the costlier resort style accommodations, therefore would definitely return to this unit if/when we come back in the future!

This condo was fully stocked and super clean. Other than grabbing food items for snacks and meals, we had everything we needed. Kitchen and bathroom! The bathroom had soft towels, shamp/cond/soap dispenser in the shower and all the extras to make you feel at home. Easily accessible and clean snorkle gear and boogie boards. We spent most of our time exploring the island but when we were home we spent our time on the lanai. Amazing view of the ocean. We enjoyed hearing the blowing of conch shells at sunset. The location is great as well. Walking distance to the boardwalk on Ali'i Dr where all the restaurants and shops are. Very fun area at night! Cant say enough about how efficient Lori was with keeping us updated on our arrival. We didnt have to "check in" we were able to just go straight to the condo and follow the instructions on how to get in.

We had a vacation of a lifetime. Lori & Jay have a beautiful condo. The location is the best. The condo is beautiful with all the comforts of home & them some. They have every detail covered. We arrived to a happy birthday balloon & card & bottle of champagne. We were celebrating one of my friends birthdays. They are so kind, easy to work with & made sure the condo was perfect.
I’ll definitely be back. This will be home for any trips to Hawaii. We can island hop from there.

Very clean and nicely equipped property. Many extras included to ensure a nice vacation. Mask, snorkels, fins, boogie boards, zip lock bags, laundry detergent, dish soaps, appliances, spices, aloe vera, bug spray, coolers, etc. The owners have setup the place to ensure visitors can enjoy their time instead of running to town to pick up small odds and ends. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

My wife and I are still amazed at how well stocked this place was. They thought of everything and we really appreciate a quality coffee pot. Upon arrival, the condo was well kept and very clean. This place has a nice pool, along with a short walk to the downtown waterfront area to find shopping and restaurants. The owners are responsive and easy to contact. Check out Kailani Tours for amazing trips around the big island and they pick you up at the driveway. Thank you Lori for a great place.

This condo was the perfect sanctuary for activity filled days or just to spend the day poolside. It was comfortable with all of the amenities, and was stocked with added necessities. Great group of people gathered each night for sunset on the yard in front of pool. Great location served as good base camp for our trips to beaches north and south. Cleanest property we have ever stayed in. Everything is as described. What you don't see is that the bathroom is very small, kitchen is tight and bedroom furniture is big for the room so no place to put your suitcases. Also, there is a construction site next door and there was a homeless person living next to it right at the entrance to the front parking lot.

The location was excellent. Well kept property and pool! The view was a slice of paradise that included some whale and dolphin sightings. All items available for use were so well thought out, it made our trip so much easier. Sunscreen, hand sanitizer, first aid kit, shower supplies, on the go supplies like baggies and water bottles, snorkel gear, local recommendations, and so much more. A birthday card, snacks, and Prosecco were the added cherry on top. These people know what they are doing, why stay anywhere else!?!?

This is a great condo for a couple or small family for enjoying and exploring the big island. The conscientious owners have equipped it with everything you need for your stay (snorkeling equip., beach chairs, beach bag, cooler, etc.). The unit has a narrow but delightful view of the ocean and a quiet bedroom. It's in a tidy complex with a nice pool and patio areas and plenty of parking. The location is within walking distance of many restaurants in Kailua-Kona, but not directly in the bustling tourist zone. We will very likely be back to this slice of heaven.

Let me say that in reviewing things on the Internet that I try to be a tough grader. You really have to deliver to get five stars. Well, this place and hosts deliver!
First of all, every decision they make in terms of what to include and what quality to go with is top notch. I have never been at a better stocked vacation rental ever. There's a full set of herbs (pic 32), every tool you could need, a half pound of Kona coffee, a snack basket, all LG appliances, a Sleep Number bed (!!), and pic 18 sums it up for me - easy to access and copious high quality soap, shampoo, and conditioner in the shower. There are two boogie boards, snorkeling gear, Tommy Bahama chairs, and a beach umbrella, four HQ metal water bottles: all great tools for a fabulous beach experience. All of the pictures in the listing are completely fair - no exaggeration there.
What you can't tell from the listing is that the location is perfect... walking distance from the downtown Kona strip, but just far enough to not have the feeling of crowds.
Now just to keep your expectations realistic, remember this is not a posh resort charging you for the lap of luxury. It's a condo complex that looks fine but not particularly special from the outside. You can get to a sandy beach to the left of the place, but that probably isn't where you'll be hanging out. The pool is kind of small, but the courtyard is nice because the outdoor grills (4) are pretty sweet, and there's a sitting/dining area under a roof. But you're not coming to the big island to stay put... this is all you need to feel taken care of and special.
My wife is extremely picky and was on my case for not going with a resort on this trip, but in the first day she was convinced this was the right move. If we come back to the big island, this is where she wants to stay.
Host Lori is very responsive and has professionals working for her if someone needs to show up. She was also forgiving of the fact that I didn't realize I had to make the second payment manually on VRBO and gave me a call.

We loved our stay at the condo. Lori and Jay were super with pre- and post- checkin information, advice and tips. We checked in easily and found the condo immaculate and well stocked for a perfect island getaway. The location was great, with ocean views and an easy stroll to shopping and restaurants. If we get back to the Big Island, we will definitely be repeat renters.

The property was amazing and had everything we could have asked for. Lori and Jay were excellent hosts and shared not only local attractions but also connected us with a car rental option. I will stay here again if I'm in Kona and will recommend to my friends and family.
