This was our best experience so far with VRBO. I am delighted to say that this place exceeded our expectations. The location was perfect for us - very central to most of the places we intended to visit. Parking and elevator access was easy - making load-in pretty seamless. From the moment we walked in, we felt extremely comfortable, Sometimes owners put in too much furniture and so much junk on the counters that there is no room for the guest - that was not the case here. It was well stocked without feeling crowded. There was everything you need to have a great time on the island - beach chairs, towels and even and ice chest (just like ours at home.) The balcony overlooks several tide pools and amazing sunsets. We enjoyed our dinners out on the balcony and found ourselves relaxing in the chaise lounges listening to the sounds of the surf. We kept the balcony doors and the windows in the bedroom for lovely cooling breeze. I would highly recommend this place and definitely would come back again.

Lovely view and steps from the ocean. Lanai has two lounge chairs and small table and chairs. Nice size. Fantastic view with amazing sunsets.
No a/c. Not really needed. Lovely breeze through the living area. One day in the 90s, so bedroom a little warm. But plenty of fans to sleep with.
Place is comfortable and well organized. We really enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful views of the Kona coast as displayed on the listing! Condo is stocked with everything you'll need and it's conveniently located near the Poke Shack, also quite close to town and magic sands Beach! We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again in the future!!

Room is beautiful and right on the beach and amenities are great, we would stay here again. Parking was very close to the unit. The elevator is quite a distance away.
Only suggestion: update tables and Fan on Lanai they a blistery with rust and the fan blades are delaminating

What a beautiful location! The apartment and equipment (snorkel, beach) were perfect for our family (2 adults and 2 kids). We saw turtles from the lanai every day! Great communication with owner and overall a great stay!

The property was very nice. It was right on the ocean with a view that was exactly like what they picture in the property description. - Fantastic! It did not have air conditioning which was not a problem as there is a great breeze that flowed through the unit. It is on the top floor (4th floor) which was very nice as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this property. It was easy to get to everything in the Kona area from there.

We were more than pleased with our stay!!! I really love staying in this place! The location is great, my most favorite part is the beautiful and peaceful lanai. Each morning, we would wake up early and sit on the lanai watching the waves, watching for wildlife (honu, whales, dolphins, and beautiful birds.) The condo is lovely. It is clean, beautifully decorated with island style. The furniture is very comfortable. A super bonus was having a washer and dryer in the unit too! The owner was responsive to my message. I can't wait to return! If I had not stayed here before, one thing I would want to know is that there are three flights of stairs to get to it, however there is also an elevator nearby. We always did the stairs, except when arriving with suitcases. But if we were mobility challenged, it would be good to know. I would tell the world about this place, but then I fear it will not be available for us to return again! ;)

It was great. One thing that needs updated. The pull out bed in the couch is unusable. We tried to use it to hear the ocean better. Not only very hard to pull out, but is completely unlevel. So I continued to use earplugs to sleep in the bedroom on the Ailii road side of the condo.

We loved our stay in this condo! The lanai is amazing, feels like a private front row seat right on the beautiful water with pretty shades of blue and amazing sunsets. Saw sea turtles, humpback whales, and dolphins plus lots of pretty fish and eels in the shallows and tide pools out front.
Complex isn’t fancy but does the trick with a great location close to fun bars and restaurants, and covered parking. Never heard the neighbors. We are used to dead quiet at home and a fan sufficiently covered traffic noise thru the open windows.

We stayed here for two weeks to celebrate my husbands 80th birthday with our adult twin daughters joining us for 8 days. It was a tight fit, but we knew that going in…plus we all felt sorry for my husband having to share the bathroom with 3 women! We couldn't have asked for a better location for going to visits around the island! Additionally, we were able to enjoy spectacular sunsets each night from our lanai, saw sea turtles and watched mother whales and calves spout and play! We would highly recommend a stay here.

This is really all about the beachfront view, it's a beautiful spot. Hanging out on the balcony watching the honu and other sealife and surfers at Banyans break was awesome. New flooring put in recent was very nice. Everyone enjoyed this place.

This condo was literally on the edge of the ocean with views for miles. While an older property it was clean and well maintained. The owner was very communicative and his entry instructions included activities and transport for the area. I would definitely stay here again.

The booking process was super easy, got a lot of great info from Edgar upon booking (bus lines, good restaurants, places to hike etc.) along with access info for the apartment. On arrival everything was fantastic, the view was amazing and the place was clean. We underestimated the street noise from other reviewers, it was quite loud and my husband had a hard time sleeping. Was also very warm in the apartment, but we couldn't open the windows to allow a breeze due to the outside noise. When we ran into another problem with construction on a neighboring unit, Edgar was instantly available and responsive. Had to cut our time here short but we are very much appreciative of the concern and level of communication with the host.

The views are absolutely breathtaking. The ocean breeze, waves crashing, drink in hand on the balcony is relaxing 2.0. There's a kitchen with enough necessities needed to make breakfast, lunch and dinners. Washer/dryer to refresh your supply of clothes and plenty of fans to move the air around. Bed was comfortable as well as the pillows. Access to downtown Kona is a quick drive and there's also a trolley so you don't have to worry about parking. The little extras they have; coolers, snorkeling gear, beach toys, mats, beach towels and beach chairs, along with a book of places to see and favorite places to eat makes this rental a perfect home away from home. Don't forget the salt water pool and hot tub!
We will definitely love to stay there again .

Condo was dated but clean and comfortable. Everything worked! It was very hot (in September); we knew there was no air conditioning - had to use every ceiling and floor fan and keep doors open! Bed was comfortable (bring your own pillows!). Lots of road noise and outside lights (bring earplugs!) but knew that going in.
Plenty big for two to move around; if are than two and you plan to sleep on the couch, know there are no window coverings on slider!
We enjoyed coffee and cocktails on the lanai - saw turtles from the lanai every day & could see yellow and black fish in the surf. Property had nice grassy area and BBQ area that were well maintained. Plenty of parking on ground floor; pool and property were well maintained.

The condo was the perfect size for us and the views and location were excellent! Totally my fault but I didn't notice there was no A/C when booking. We were hot one night and ok one night. The sliding lanai screen door and the windows being opened kept a nice breeze flowing through, plus we bought a box fan. Otherwise it was a fabulous location, view and convenient!

We LOVED this place!! Location was far enough for some solitude and centrally located to hit major island sights/beaches up/down the Hawaii island west side. Condo had all the amenities for our short stay and would enjoy staying longer next time. The view and sound of the ocean was excellent along with watching local surfers further to the south if you wanted to.

The unit is spacious and the host thought of everything you would need to enjoy your vacation. The view is fantastic and the lanai is a wonderful place to relax after a long day of exploring. The property as a whole is an older complex and the bedroom is on the street side. This wasn’t an issue for us, but could be for some people. We would definitely stay here again.

This condo is right on the water and provides an excellent view.
Condo is equipped for most anything you need. However, the road noise in the bedroom has gotten worse over the years with the amount of traffic and human noise.

This is the third unit that we've stayed in at Kona Bali Kai over the years. Our number one priority is always to rent a condo with the best possible unobstructed view, and KBK has it! We don't need or expect luxury. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, glassware, and flatware. The bathroom has lots of nice towels. The pots and pans and knives could use some updating. Bonus: there is an electric teakettle! The balcony has awesome lounge chairs, and a counter height table and chairs perfect for two people. We found almost-new beach chairs in the closet that I used daily. The bed is very comfortable! There are plenty of electric fans. This is the only unit that we've stayed in where the bedroom was on the road-side instead of the ocean-side, so there is noise. The bathroom has a new toilet and sink.
So now for the issues we found less than appealing: the carpet is totally trashed. It is stained and old and even if it's been cleaned after each guest, it looks disgusting. We wore socks instead of going barefoot (in 83 degree weather). It's a downer! The bathtub is rusty and old, but serviceable. The TV was impossible to figure out due to being programmed by someone who made it way more complicated than it should have. The handyman was sent over to show us, but his fixes didn't stick. The sliding screen door was broken. The handyman was sent to fix it but realized it needed to be replaced. He put it back on the track, but we never used it again for fear that it would fall off.
The bottom line is that we did enjoy our two-week stay, but we won't be coming back. There's another gorgeous, unobstructed view on Oahu, but I'm not telling you where it is! :)

Great location and the sound of waves from the living room and lanai were constant and relaxing. The bedroom is on the road side of building so you can hear vehicles going by when windows or front door are open. We used a box fan to block the road noise. Other than that everything was perfect.

We loved the view from this property. It was wonderful. There were some small issues that varied in "no big deal" to "you really should work on". Please be aware we loved our stay and would highly recommend this property.
*The mattress in the hide-a-bed was very uncomfortable - it was also a physical work out to get it in and out.
*Carpets are ready for a cleaning
*Small fry pan would be great - there was only larger ones and they were very scratched
*One clock in the condo - to high to reach and battery was dead
*Access to local stations on the TV would have been great for local news and weather. TV not set up in bedroom
*Local city map would have been great - they have these in Hilo - free
Again, I say we loved this property and would recommend. Please consider some of these small upgrades.

Roaches, dirty dishes in cabinets, everything is in very poor condition. From the carpet to the lights, and filth that has probably NEVER been cleaned. The bath tub feels as though it will fall through the ceiling. Sad to see such a lovely location not being kept up. we left the cleaner person a tip as it is not her fault the place is so deteriorated.
