We have stayed multiple times at the Kaanapali Alli and found this property to be top notch. From the cleanliness and updates- most kaanapali alli rooms are not as updated as this one, to the breathtaking balcony views that made it so we actually wanted to be in the room. We will be returning. The owner Bonnie was extremely responsive as well. We had a minor issue with the safe (user error) and Bonnie was over quickly to resolve.

This is our 5th time staying at the Kaanapali Ali’i in #356, and we still do not see any reason to consider anyplace else! This particular unit definitely provides an elevated condo experience… it is beautifully decorated yet comfortable, well maintained, and fully appointed for your stay. You will not want for anything. And did I mention THE VIEW?! We enjoyed lunch & happy hours on the lanai and had great fun spotting dolphins and turtles in the clear waters below. The property manager, Bonnie, is also easily accessible and very responsive to any questions or needs. After many years at surrounding resort properties, we also greatly enjoy the laid back nature of the Kaanapali Ali’i. The property is ideally located along the Kaanapali stretch and is also an easy drive into Lahaina and the Kapalua area for some amazing dining. If you’re not one to dine out, do NOT miss the ‘grill master’ that is on property certain days of week and can assist with your grilling needs! We always cook in at least once to take advantage of this special perk. Can’t wait to book this unit for for 2023!

This condo is amazing. The location is a 10+. Watching the sunset from the balcony was amazing each evening. The condo was tastefully decorated. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need to cook and eat in.
The location is perfect for walking to whalers Village for dinner.
We didn’t use the pool but it never looked to crowded to find a good spot to soak up the sun. We are beach people and being just steps from the beach was perfect for us. The staff as always was so friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back!

We spent a week at the end of July 2022. The pictures do not do this condo justice. It’s better then the photos. It is extremely clean, well updated, and in great condition. The location is absolutely great. The beach is nice, you can walk to Whalers Village, and it’s a short drive to Lahaina. The pool area of the resort is great. Our kids enjoyed the waterfalls and jumping in the pool. We also enjoyed relaxing in the quiet pool away from the splashing. My only complaint is that we couldn’t stay two weeks. We’d book this unit again in a heartbeat. Mahalo, Bonnie.

Beautifully decorated condo that was very thoughtfully appointed with everything to make it an easy stay. The location, a 5 min walk from Starbucks and a 10 min walk from Whalers Village shopping and eating made it perfect for my family of teens. We could all do what we wanted throughout the day. We had a fabulous trip in every way. Gorgeous views of whales and sunsets. We own a week at the Marriott next door but the kids are asking to stay in room 356 for our next trip! Mahalo! Thanks for the tip on the internet speed. We had to call the ISP who reset the modem/router then all worked o.k. You see my comments above as how great we thought the stay was. I leave the following just as an FYI, things I'd like to know if it were my property.
* the mirrors in the bathroom were a little streaked (maybe a short maid )
* the sensor on the main patio door that controls the AC fell off so I taped it on for a temporary fix.
* the patio door off the dining room was locked closed and we could not get the latch to open up.
* the condo front desk may need to improve their key-making machine as we had keys not working regularly throughout our stay.

My family and I had a wonderful time at this oceanfront property! We loved the corner lanai and the sunset view! The stretch of beach in front of the resort was mostly empty during our stay. We enjoyed the walking distance to Whalers Village. The amenities are great and didn't need to restock any supplies. I highly recommend this unit!

We love the ease of waking up to coffee on our own lanai (vs. standing in line at Starbucks) and enjoying breakfast & lunch in the condo. Although we eat most dinners out, we always plan at least one evening to take advantage of the poolside grills and 'Master Griller' who is available to help cook any or all parts of your meal. We couldn't have loved this property more. Kaanapali Alii was just what we were looking for. The unit itself was beautiful, just as advertised, overseeing the ocean with lots of space for 2 adults and 2 college age teens. The complex is well maintained, it was easy to find a place near the pool or the beach. Location was very close walking distance to shopping and lunch. With the Marriot and Westin on either side of you, it is pretty obvious what a higher density place would feel like, and we were very happy with our choice.

A great place to stay in Maui, right on the beach front in a renovated 5 star apartment. The condo is well positioned and the apartment is one of the nicest in the resort - the well equipped kitchen was particularly impressive. I was worried about sending a bank cheque overseas (this is the first time I had to do this and very unusual practice for Australians!) but Bonnie was very helpful and the process was simple. Had the holiday of a lifetime - we'll be back.

We enjoyed the ocean front balcony with comfortable furnishing every morning with our coffee and evenings to watch the sunset.

Just returned from a week in this unit and to say we were impressed is a serious understatement. No detail is left untouched. Not only is it beautifully decorated but whatever it is you wish you had remembered to bring with you, just pause and open a cabinet and it will be there (cooler, Maui tour books, laundry detergent, binoculars...whatever!). I highly recommend this unit if you are planning a stay in west Maui!

This unit is hands down the best unit in this entire complex. It has been completely updated, renovated, beautifully decorated and has the most incredible view - oceanfront with beautiful sunset views looking over Kaanapali Beach. It was far beyond our expectations and we enjoyed our stay so much. We spoke to other guests at the Alii and many people did not have anything comparable to the luxury this place exudes. There is not a flaw or anything one can complain about.
BEDROOMS - the beds are lovely, extremely comfortable with beautiful linens and pillows. Lots of room to put away clothes and big closets.
BATHROOMS - exquisite, the best shower I have ever been in.
KITCHEN - We cooked most meals at the condo itself and everything we needed was there. It was nice to have the trays to carry food down to the grilling stations and the tupperware was great for packing lunches on day trips.
LANAI - this is probably the best, and most unique part of this particular unit. The glass doors slide right across opening up the living room to the outside. The chaise lounge on the lanai is AMAZING and we spent so much time watching the whales sitting out there.
You cannot go wrong with this unit. SO much better than a hotel room and the Alii is a beautiful resort. It is a 4 star resort, but this unit is for sure 5 star. We really appreciated having the late checkout as we had a 11 pm flight. Bonnie was a pleasure to work with and we hope to be back someday!

An extremely-experienced traveler, but this was my first VRBO rental. Couldn't have been better. After *hundreds* of hours' research (part of Maui to stay? Which Condo or Hotel?) this was a dream come true. The condo is absolutely gorgeous: spacious, in MINT condition (new remodel). The interior was not "good", it was "tremendous". Stunning kitchen, brand new appliances, extremely comfortable beds, gorgeous tile & carpet, even dimmers, closet light timers...finish-out is as nice or nicer than a 5-Star hotel. The decor is also very tasteful - NOT your typical hokey beachfront decor - would describe it as "modern luxury beach chic". Best part: the living area's floor-to-ceiling doors that slide fully open to the 20x8 Lanai, a stone's throw from the beach and ocean. You can hear the tide rolling all day long, and the extremely comfortable patio furniture was my favorite place (slept there every night!) Both bedrooms and dining room also have oceanfront views.
The meticulously-maintained Alii itself is also fantastic, rightfully #1 on TripAdvisor. The property has been re-done recently, and the three pools and 2 hot-tubs are gorgeous, with cool blue and purple hues of the courtyard/pool accent lights at night. The first-class staff are all very friendly and helpful. The location is also unparalleled: 4 minute walk from the local Whaler's Village (a nearby place has fish tacos will change your life), and no more than a 10 minutes walk to Black Rock or the south end of Ka'anapali Beach. Perfectly situated so that you can forget your car during vacation, but if needed, it's only a 5 minute drive into Lahaina and 15 minutes to Kapalua. All-in-all, the Alii may be 30 years old, but it is the nicest property on Ka'anapali Beach, and I would recommend it over anywhere else.
Bonnie was helpful and accommodating and I would recommend to anyone.
As for activities nearby:
*Surf lessons - scheduled through Alii - A+
*SUP - great, but do it on a wind-free day.
*Fishing - go for 6+ hours.
*Snorkeling - if you are dying to see dolphins and/or whales, go w/ the Adventure Raft. If you just want to see fish and turtles, walk to Black Rock and save $100pp.
*Dining: All three restaurants at Whaler's Village are excellent. The oceanfront place @ Kapalua has a divine sunset!

Thank you Aimee and Bonnie for making our stay wonderful. The Condo is absolutely wonderful. Everything my family and I needed was met. I can't thank Aimee enough for being there and making sure everything worked well. She brought a cocktain mixer the very next day when I asked and fixed the oven since I was the first one to use it. The beach and the staff were great. It was good to be able to grill our meals everyday and talked to other families. Loved the beach right up front. The sunset was amazing. A few request...a make up mirror - since I need to close closely to make sure I hide all the wrinkles. Little garbage bags in the bedrooms and laundry room. Otherwise, the condo is gorgeous and wish I bought there instead....Where did the designer by the faux tropical plants. I'm thinking of turning my exercise room into more Hawaiian. Thank you forever more...

Bonnie, thank you so much for the beautiful condo. It was remodeled beautifully! Love the decor and the attention to all the details of this condo(pictures, books, bedding etc) The view was breathtaking as well, we spent every night enjoying the Maui sunset from the comfy balcony! We spent every morning on the balcony with coffee enjoying the surfers. So convienient to shopping, restaurants, beach activities. The staff at the Ali'i was very friendly as well. Our family had so much fun cooking in the kitchen while taking in the view.
My family did make some requests, they requested more basic items for the kitchen. More trash bags, dishwasher soap, spices and condiments. The knives were not sharp, made it difficult to cut meat on BBQ night.
Other than that, it was near perfect. I've been highly recommending your place to my friends and we hope to return real soon.

This place is an absolute home run! Its been completely updated with every attention to detail. We took our 3 young kids (9,8,4) and they had a blast. Best part of this place is the Alii comes with a Grill Chef downstairs. We would show up with a bunch of local fish and veggies and the chef would prepare it all for you.
