Location is everything!

The Birdcage is a breezy and bright studio giving you clear views of the Koolau Mountains. With historic Waikiki Beach just outside the hotel lobby, the Birdcage is the perfect home base for exploring Honolulu and the rest of Oahu.

Double paned sliding glass windows greatly minimize the urban sounds of Waikiki, but let a lot of light in. An expansive roof deck on top of the hotel provides a bird's eye view of Diamond Head. There are lounge chairs for sunbathing and tables for alfresco dining. No one else in Waikiki has a better view of the sun setting into the Pacific. Kapiolani Park is just across the street and offers the Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Aquarium, the Royal Hawaiian Bandstand, tennis courts, soccer fields, archery ranges, weekend art shows and the city's Sunset on the Beach free concerts and movies - all this in its 500 green acres.

One of the main reasons for coming to Hawaii is of course the sun and sand. Surfing, stand up board paddling, outrigger canoeing, swimming and simply lounging on the beach are all just a few steps from the Birdcage.

Hawaii is the crossroads of the Pacific and its culinary offerings reflect that abundantly, so while the Birdcage has a kitchen and microwave, you are a short walk away from countless cafes and restaurants catering to every taste and price range. Similarly, if you can get yourself out of the water and away from the beach there is a lot of shopping to be done in Waikiki, and the many other shopping venues just a short drive away.

The Birdcage is at the end of Waikiki. Kapahulu Avenue provides easy access to the freeway, and makes getting in and out of the area very easy because you avoid all the traffic in the heart of Waikiki. This is perfect for when you decide to explore the rest that Oahu has to offer.

This cozy studio is perfect for two people, with many highlights to enjoy. The location is the most significant benefit of this condo. You'll be in close proximity to Waikiki's famous attractions, including the beach, Leonard Malasadas, Rainbow drive-through, and ABCs. Kevin, the host, is incredibly accommodating, and the rental cost is a bargain for what you get in this prime location.

The unit was fine, nothing special. It had minimal extras (I had to ask for more toilett paper as there was only one roll for our 10 day stay). The unit could use a bit of a touch up, seems dated. The main issue was how noisy it is. You can open up the windows, but the street noise is way to loud. And if you close the windows the AC is crazy loud. We never felt like we could just chill in peace abd quiet. Other than those issues the location is great, parking was easy at the zoo or Monsarrat.

The Birdcage was perfect for my solo stay. It was close to the beach, restaurants, and transportation around the island. The 10th floor sundeck was a treat for morning coffee and evening sunset watching. It was an incredible view and perfect to see the Sunday fireworks. Kevin was a great host, making my early arrival easy.

We stayed at the Birdcage for the first week of our two week Hawaii vacation. The views from the rooftop were outstanding, literally steps away from the beach, and ease of access to the shops. The room was as pictured on the listing. While we didn’t use the pool, it was a great option to have. We loved the kitchen in the unit, as we cooked the majority of our meals. Kevin was fantastic to chat with and provided all the necessary details for our stay. Thanks again!

The host was very welcoming, informative and understanding. Everything was as described. We enjoyed our stay at the Birdcage for our wedding anniversary. The location was perfect- right near the beach and restaurants/shopping centers. We thought our place was pretty quiet and peaceful. I liked that we didn’t have to go out and buy many things because it was already provider. Overall we are happy that we chose this place for our vacation! (:

Staff was very friendly and helpful, some paid parking across street at zoo. The room was cute and clean. Had everything you needed. Chairs, umbrellas, shampoo, conditioner, soup, chocolate all the added touch to this room made my stay wonderful.

This studio condo was less than a block from the beach and shops! It was also right across from the Honolulu Zoo, which made for an easy activity without the hassle of parking. In regard to the condo itself, it was clean and cute! It is small, as it is a studio, but it was perfect for my husband and me. My one downside is there is no closet, so we had to leave our luggage open on the floor (which for us was no biggie). If you are looking for a condo close to the hustle and bustle of Waikiki beach, this is for you!

The Birdcage was perfect for us! We loved being so close to the beach, in a spacious room with space to cook and eat some meals. We fully utilized the rooftop deck and had some memorable breakfasts up there. We found the unit very clean and well appointed. Jeannie was easy to reach on WhatsApp when needed. The AC was a relief to come back to on hot afternoons.

Lovely little studio a block from the beach and across the street from the zoo. View from the 10th floor deck is spectacular. It's the perfect place to enjoy coffee or a meal (bring your own). You can view the sunrise next to Diamond head or spin 180 degrees for a sweeping view of the ocean. Little kitchen is perfect to save a few $ on dining. This little unit has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The pool is also a hidden little gem, mostly shaded and usually very quite. Quite a remarkable sanctuary for being on the edge of the city.

The birdcage was VERY convenient to the beach, restaurants and right across from the zoo. The 10th floor was beautiful … most times had it to ourselves. We watched sunrise and had breakfast up there. Also had drinks at sunset. VERY relaxing place. Kevin had everything that was needed, as far as glassware, utensils, beach towels, chairs and even umbrellas. We would definitely stay there again

Great location for the beach. Easy to get in condo with code. This is small but exactly as pictures show. Condo was clean & pleasant. Had everything we needed for two people that didn’t plan to spend much time in it.was nice having the beach towels & chairs provided! Bed was comfortable. Kitchen ok. Oh yes, the microwave only works if kitchen light switch is on! Bathroom is ok. This condo was fine for what we needed. You can pay $25/day to park in their building but be sure to call the property and make arrangements ahead because it’s very limited parking under ground and tight spaces. We had a very good experience there. It’s a very convenient location. Glad we chose this condo.

We had a wonderful stay at Kevin’s place. Check-in & check-out was a breeze! Right down the street from the beach! The unit was clean, had AC, small kitchenette, and plenty of room for the two of us. The room had an umbrella & camp chairs to take to the beach which was lovely. We would highly recommend this place to anyone needing a place to stay in Waikiki. Thanks Kevin for the great stay!

Great location, clean, and comfortable. However, it could be better supplied with an usable umbrella and cooking equipment, such as, mixing bowl, measuring cups, colander, and better frying pans.

First time to Hawaii and the stay was amazing. The room is located in an excellent spot and walking distance to the beach and many other attractions in Waikiki. I had no idea when I booked it. I was just looking for something close to my daughter. The room was well equipped with beach Items and boogie boards. Which my daughter found towards the end of my stay. She's a better snooper than me and found them under the bed and on the side of the Armoire. Kevin the owner was great and gave all the information you will need for your stay. The process was super easy and hassle free, which made the stay even better. The refrigerator was small but perfect size to store some food items. Plenty of pots, pans and dishes to cook a meal or two on the stove top if needed. I made breakfast everyday during my stay. Trash chute is outside the door next to the stairs. As for parking, I suggest you call the downstairs front desk and reserve a spot quickly. They are coveted spots and in a great location. 25 a day, plus tax and worth every penny. They have very few spots but it makes the stay so much nicer and it is one of the cheapest places around for a parking spot. There is parking over at the zoo for a small fee, 1.50 an hour while I was there, but then you have to make sure you are renewing your parking meter every 4 hours. It's not worth the hassle and easies the mind to just park at the condo. Trust me, I looked all over to see if there was a better deal for parking and in the end, it was a no brainer to park at the condo. The front desk staff was amazing. I wish for the life of me I could remember the name of the lady at the front desk. She seemed to be at the desk every time I came back to the room no matter what time of day. She always had a smile on her face and talked to my daughter and I about all sorts of things to see and do on the Island. She was absolutely pleasant and made the trip to see my daughter that much better. If I make my way back, I will be staying here again.

The drain in the bathroom sink is plugged. I used drain cleaner and let it sit overnight twice but it needs a snake or a plumber.

Location, price, value, and room cleanliness and comfort. Could add a full length mirror outside of bathroom, also a few more wash cloths. Otherwise, perfect!

The property is right at the end of the shops and across the street from the Zoo. The double bed is comfortable and it was nice having a little kitchenette. We only had 2 bath towels and it took several texts/days to have someone bring us more which was super frustrating! The towels, kitchen ones included all smelled musty. We bought our own toilet paper because the room provided this single ply paper. Also, parking is limited $17/day on a first come first serve basis. We were lucky to get a spot! Overall we had a nice trip to Waikiki!
