Amazing and highly recommend. Use the grills during the early afternoon as they tend to get busy in the later evening. Apartment was very clean and had all amenties needed! Only thing that would be awesome would be a cocktail shaker cup/set! Overall amazing stay and i would come back!

The condo is beautiful, clean and has amazing views. Location is close enough to restaurants without interfering with the quiet vibe we were looking for in Maui. We would highly recommend this condo.

We have stayed at Surfside several times before but this unit is perhaps the nicest one! Beautiful decor, gorgeous Kitchen, very comfortable bed. We loved it. At Surfside, the views really can't be beat but this unit is wonderfully positioned on the 4th floor, in proximity to The Reef so that you can hear the waves and watch the sunset. We love Surfside for many reasons, the location is number one, the grills outside are wonderful for cooking fresh fish, the snorkeling right off the property is increase, and the beach (which you can't see from the balcony as it's on the other side of the building) is among the best beaches on the maui. You can walk the beach all the way to the andaz and then take the connecting path and walk to all the Resorts. close to Wailea and also close to some of the main stops in Kihei. We loved it and can't wait to go back.

My husband and I stayed here for our 20th anniversary and couldn’t have been more happy! Our second time to Maui and we were very pleased with the rental. What can I say….views, views views! Wow! The views were absolutely stunning and the sunsets were breathtaking right from the lanai. The Unit was very clean and cozy with a super comfortable bed and soft sheets. (very important for a good nights rest!) The location of the property was perfect! Close to everything you could need yet just far away from the hustle and bustle. The beach that is right next to the Kihei Surfside is absolutely amazing! One of the nicest beaches in Maui if you ask me and just a short walk away! If your looking for amazing snorkeling, just look right out front of the property! Put on your snorkel gear and jump on in, you won’t be disappointed! There were no beach chairs located in the unit when we stayed but the office has them just ask! We had an amazing time at the Kihei Surfside property and the condo was awesome! We would definitely stay again! Thanks Larry!

My daughter found this location for us. Check-in entailed entering your code in the door lock and walking inside. The condo (407) was clean and well stocked. We bought our groceries at a Safeway down the street. This unit did not have air, bit the cross ventilation and ceiling fans kept us very comfortable. When in Hawaii we want the fresh ocean breeze instead of forced air. We enjoyed the pool as well as the beach, which is a three minute from our unit. My husband said he saw a variety of fish when he snorkeled close to the lava mounds.

The location of the condo is great. The room had a great view of the pool, grass area, and the ocean. There is no AC in the unit which can make it a little hot at times. Also this unit is right by the elevators resulting in a lot of foot traffic and noise at times.

We loved our stay at Surf Side! Watching the turtles feed out front each morning, in addition to the world class snorkeling, was a highlight of our trip. We literally didn’t need to leave to property to experience all Maui has to offer.

I stayed for six days at Kihei surf side. Beautiful resort, highly relaxing. Pool and the outdoor lawns are great. Few suggestions -
1. Some complementary snorkelling equipment /beach chairs will be awesome
2. Fans in 2nd unit (514) were very slow. Portable fans left in the unit really helped

We had a nice stay at the Kihei Surfside, very nice tenants living at the other condos as well. Outlets in the bedroom are on a dimmer switch, which is nice for the lamps but not as nice for the fan. Also a PSA for Maui travelers, don’t leave personal belongings in your vehicle, our car was broken into off Honolua bay (not near the condo!). Wonderful stay, we’d love to go back sometime!

Nice unit but smaller than I anticipated, TV didn’t work (need to print explicit instructions for non Spectrum users), and no A/C. This made the roosters more challenging to contend with at 5 am. Also beautiful new pool but why sooooo small (for lap swimmers) when you still have a huge yard for condo owners?????? wasted space… Overall, beautiful view but wouldn’t rent again b/c of A/C and no floor space for suitcases.

My husband and I booked this property knowing that the pool was under construction. I thought the construction would be loud, but it wasn't really bad at all and was only done between certain hours. The room was clean and spacious with a gorgeous view and intimate lanai. The kitchen had everything we needed and there were beach towels, pool noodles, and boogie boards, and a cooler for use. Previous reviews mention earplugs - as the condos filled up, the noise from the elevator increased but earplugs worked perfectly! They even give them away when you check in. Without air-conditioning, it can get pretty warm at night but there are fans throughout the unit which help with airflow. Overall, I would definitely stay here again...the finished pool is going to be beautiful! Thank you for a nice stay!

Construction. It was directly below the balcony, but it didn’t impact the stay. He roosters on the other hand were outrageous! It was a great stay, clean and well stocked. We caught a hot week, and no AC was tough until the sun went down. The fans were a nice touch. I’d stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at the condo and found the location to be a good base for the activities we had planned. The apartment is very well equipped and everything you need is a short drive/walk away. As noted by others there is no AC which was not clear to us from the listing and was warm at night but the fans helped. There are also roosters in the parking lot that start early so earplugs are needed if you are a light sleeper. We split our holiday between this condo and a hotel and now our kids are asking to go back to the condo lawn in the evening for the sunset view and close beach. Overall we give it 5 stars because it’s great value for the price.

We understood when we rented this property that the pool would be under construction, but it was worth it. The view made up for the noise in the day and the lack of an operational pool. The condo is on a rocky shoreline, but a sandy beach is just a 5 minute walk away. There isn’t air conditioning, but the afternoon trade winds really cool it down, and the nights were very comfortable. The bedroom is right by the elevator, so earplugs were a must! Overall a great experience!

Adequate property but it is definitely a no frills experience. Bedding and bath are old and uncomfortable. It should be made more clear that there is NO air conditioning. Winds are nice during the day, but they die at night and there is no cool breeze to sleep with. Beautiful view but no direct access to beach.

I booked this property because the rate was greatly reduced due to a major pool renovation directly below the condo. The accuracy in the description of this construction was exact, so I knew all possible “inconvenience’s” at booking, and I’d book it again in a heartbeat! The view and location just can’t be beat.
This condo is extremely well appointed! The layout makes terrific use of space, and every condo in Maui should have this cleaning crew. The unit was beyond immaculate!
The owner provides many details in the listing and in correspondence. Read them. Every question I had was answered almost before I asked.

Unit 407 at Kihei Surfside was exactly what we needed for the last few days of our trip to Maui. The condo was perfect for our family of four (including 10 year old and 14 year old boys). Construction had just begun on the pool when we checked in, however, because Larry and Lorena were so great about communicating with us, this wasn’t a surprise at all. Since we booked prior to knowing about the pool construction, Larry offered us a discount on our stay, which was greatly appreciated. To be honest, though, we barely even noticed that we couldn’t use the pool! The nearby beach, Keawakapu, was so perfect that we spent all of our time there. The beach, sand and waves were just what we’d hoped for.
Please be aware that there is no air conditioning, but you truly won’t even notice it. The bedroom does sit right inside the front door and near the elevator, but all of the guests seemed very respectful of this and we were never kept awake by any noise. In fact, the noisiest guests were the resident parking lot roosters who enjoy alerting everyone to the beginning of the day! If you like to sleep in, it’s nothing that some earplugs won’t help with. It literally didn’t detract from our stay in the least (and in fact came in handy when our alarm didn’t go off for our morning flight), I just wanted to be fully transparent about all aspects of the condo!
Condo location is great - just far enough away from the main Kihei area but close enough that we could hit up our favorite spots with ease.
And the VIEW! We’ve stay at many condos and hotels in South and West Maui, and this condo had one of the best views of any of them! Between the lawn area (which was spectacular for sunset viewing) and the proximity to the ocean…. It was beautiful!
Thank you Larry and Lorena for making booking, check-in, and check-out such a seamless experience, and for sharing this lovely condo with us - it was a fitting end to our long-awaited return to Maui.
