It has a spectacular view from the kitchen, living room, dining area and lanai. It is one of the larger, 1 bedroom, 1.5 bath units (680 sq ft). The view of the ocean and its abundant wildlife is absolutely breathtaking. It has an older remodel, but is clean, functional and shows well as the interior is predominantly neutral colors.

The entry hall, kitchen, bathrooms and lanai are tiled, while the living room and bedroom has medium pile carpeting. The cabinetry is white laminate with oak trim, and the kitchen has a grey/black granite.

The oversized island style kitchen is great! It is fully equipped with stainless appliances, including fridge/freezer, flat top stove, dishwasher, multi function microwave oven, garbage disposer and a variety of small appliances including coffee maker, coffee grinder, toaster, blender.

A very unique feature of this condo is that the living room has TWO queen size sofa-beds, with 2 comfy, matching swivel/bucket rattan armchairs. There is also a large 50" flat screen LCD color TV with, DVR, and stereo. And of course, a multi speed ceiling fan.

The dining area has a round rattan glass table with 4 matching tropical armchairs.

The entry hall has a large built in buffet with cabinets and a full set of dresser drawers, and a desk area.

The bedroom has a King size bed, multi speed ceiling fan, alarm clock and telephone.

The master bathroom has a full size, walk in shower with a built in bench, The matching half bath has been finished to the same standard. Both bathrooms have been remodeled.

A short drive from the resort is Safeway, Foodland and Star Market, where you can stock up on groceries. Right across the parking lot from the Surfside is an upscale deli/grocery store for last minute items, and a yoga studio.

The world class golf facilities of Wailea and Makena are nearby. Windsurfing, and many other water activities are also available nearby. The stunning view from the balcony cannot be beat, and watching the sunset every evening from the balcony was one of the highlights of our trip. The location was perfect for us to do all of our excursions on Maui and there are plenty of restaurants in the area and a Safeway nearby. We loved having a full kitchen to be able to eat a few meals in and make coffee in the mornings. The furniture and carpeting is a bit dated, but we felt the unit was fairly priced given all the other amenities. We booked very last minute and were grateful it was available.

Great view, amazing location, lovely beaches! Sea turtles visible from the gorgeous lanai and pretty grounds with epic sunset views, The only major bummer was that the owner didn't disclose construction on the property (all of the railings being replaced and remodeling going on in nearby condos), so we heard heavy machinery, drills, and hammers during 3/5 days (not on the weekends). Of course we were out and about enjoying the outdoors as much as possible, but when we wanted to take a break from the sun and trade winds, or eat lunch and relax, we heard construction noise. The listing should absolutely include this information. VRBO tried to contact the owner and office to no avail. Otherwise a cool spot!

It was great having a coded entry and not a key to carry around. The bed at this location was very comfortable. Having an extra half bath was nice. Carpet needs to be cleaned or updated. otherwise everything was as listed. The views were fantastic!

Very easy to book and great communication with property owner/manager. Is exactly like photos. The view is beyond gorgeous with turtles right out front, whales in the distance and sunsets that are indescribable. Will definitely come back here!

I’ve been visiting Maui for over 20 years and I always stay at the Surfside because of the amazing value and location. I’ve booked with Larry at Rosie’s Rentals and the process has always been efficient with clear and helpful communication from Larry and his team. Unit 402 was perfect for a two week stay in September. It had everything we needed, was very clean and comfortable with a front row seat to incredible sunsets every night. My only wish is that we had more time to spend there! COVID was hard on the people and businesses of Hawaii. My last visit was about ten years ago but I had a trip planned in 2020 that had to be canceled due to the shutdown. For me going to Maui has always been about relaxing and letting go of my cares without breaking the bank. If you need five star accommodations in a swanky hotel with three pools and a golf course, Kihei Surfside probably isn’t for you. If you are looking for affordable oceanfront accommodations that allow you the flexibility of cooking and BBQing along with pristine beaches, hiking, snorkeling, swimming all in easy proximity to restaurants, groceries, activities and endlessly beautiful sights then get in touch with Larry at Rosie’s Rentals- he can definitely hook you up! Mahalo!

I had an amazing stay at this property. The view was even better in person. We saw sea turtles from the balcony! The place was very clean and quiet. 10/10 would recommend staying at this property, you won’t be disappointed.

The condo is right on the ocean. It offers great views of the sunset and whales during the migration season. The lanai is relatively small, although there is a kitchen nook which juts out next to the lanai which is completely enclosed in glass. So you have the option of sitting outside on the lanai or sitting inside with equally great views. I suppose this would be a great feature if the weather was inclement, although we had spectacular weather while we were there. The condo was clean, well stocked and nicely furnished. The owner has maintained it in tip-top shape (unlike some other condos we've stayed at on the island which were quite run down). The condo is very quiet and peaceful (although there are some roosters nearby that give you a nice wake up call in the morning). There is a nice, medium-size pool with ample lounge chairs, but no hot tub. There are a couple large BBQ grills and picnic tables for outdoor eating. The grounds are beautiful with a lovely park adjacent to the property. Kamaole Beach Park III is a short, 12-min walk for very good snorkeling. There is no sandy beach directly in front of the property, but we saw multiple turtles hanging out amongst the lava rocks which was very cool. Plus there is a nice sand beach right next door. BTW, the Palm restaurant next door has a great happy hour. The condo manager, Larry, and his staff were super accommodating and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!

Seamless check in, amazing views and room was spacious. I stayed during the pool renovation and was pleasantly surprised that the noise didn’t bother me one bit! The ocean drowns out most of the noise. Two thumbs up overall for room and price

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay in #402. From the lanai, we were able to enjoy the breathtaking Maui sunsets over a glass of wine or a "cooked in" dinner for two. Being SO close to the ocean, we were also able to squeeze in some turtle watching! In addition to its proximity to the ocean, the Kihei Surfside offers a large perfectly manicured oceanfront lawn. We spent many hours lounging there, reading, or just watching the surf. The unit was very clean and certainly well equipped with everything from top end appliances to any little kitchen gadget you might need. When we decided to go out for dinner, and didn't mind a long walk, we found we could walk down the beach to the wonderful restaurants located in the beautiful Wailea resorts. (Humuhumunukunukuapuaa - or "Humus" in the Grand Wailea is a must!) As for Rosie's Rentals...amazing! After returning from breakfast Sunday morning we found the batteries in our keypad were dead, so we had no way of getting into our unit. We contacted Barrie, and within 10 minutes she had the manager there and we were in! Rosie's took care of us every step of the way. Thank you, Rosie's - our vacation was perfect. We will definitely return to this unit!

As usual Rosie's was professional in all aspects. The island rep Barrie was very responsive to any issues. This was our first time in #402 and we were very impressed. Every thing we needed for a comfortable beach vacation was provided. The kitchen was well supplied for our "self catering". We will be returning to this unit for sure!!

Our first time in 402 and really liked it. Have stayed in other units and this may be our favorite due to proximity to ocean. Love the new balcony and furniture. Appreciate beach chairs & towel, ice chest, etc. great vacation!

The condo is very nice. Great location with amazing views of other islands and sunsets. The weather was perfect everyday except for afternoon wind. Only issue was WiFi not accessible on iPad or iPhone. We would stay here again.

Larry and Sharon - we both loved the remodel done last summer. The clear balcony especially is so much better than the grid that used to be there. We hit, as a perchance, the weather perfectly. After that terrible rain that decimated Iao Valley, but before Hurricane Uliki hit. We have been in so many of your units - both the ones you own and the ones you manage- and have never been disappointed. This trip was no exception. Mahalo nui loa...

Our unit had incredible vistas of the ocean and we loved how we could hear the surf. The wide expansive lawn is gorgeous, and my kids loved playing games on it (Frisbee, bocci ball). It's great how you can get equipment like shuffleboard etc. from the office as well as DVDs to rent. Our unit had an incredible wide-screen TV convenient for watching the Olympics. The king size bed was very comfortable. Although there is no air-conditioning, trade winds cool down the unit at night. However, if you are heat sensitive this set-up could be a bit stuffy for you (we were fine) as sometimes the master bedroom on very hot days doesn't completely cool down. Our unit didn't have enough beach towels (we were five), so it would have been nice to have had five towels. However, when we asked the housekeeper for another towel, she said one didn't come with the condo but that she would loan us one of hers (that's Aloha!). The snorkel sets were broken except for one set, which wasn't in great shape. But that wasn't a problem since we rented from Snorkel Bob's. Honestly, for the price, this place is the best ocean view on the Island. It's truly lovely and there's a great sense of community as every night everyone gathers on the lawn to watch the sun go down. There's a communal barbecue and folks are very friendly. We would definitely come back!

We absolutely loved this condo and would love to go back if the price remains reasonable . The view is second to none and the condo is clean and very well equipped . It is an older building but seems well cared for, we did have a little trouble with the front door being hard to open and close but not to hard to deal with. You feel right at home very fast , we loved spending time out on the lanai watching the turtles swim by and the snorkel gear and the boogie boards were fun to use at the beach just a minute or two walk from the condo.Rosie's Rentals were very professional to deal with at the start, middle and end always making sure we were well taken care of which was very thoughtful. You would not be disappointed renting this condo it is as discribed and then some. Thanks for everything we will be back.

Our condo was clean and comfortable. The views from this unit are fabulous – we loved the new floor to ceiling windows. We spent a lot of time on our lanai - morning coffee, breakfast, reading, and even saw a few whales. We really enjoyed the extra ½ bath this unit provided as we were travelling with 2 teenaged girls! Rosie’s Rentals was superb to work with - from our initial inquiries about the unit and finally to our stay. They really went out of their way to ensure that everything we needed was there. The Kihei Surfside was a perfect location just steps to the Keawakapu Beach where we swam, snorkelled with turtles, took stand-up paddle board lessons and boogie boarded. We loved the large manicured lawns and pool for sunning in the afternoons and really enjoyed our nightly tradition of meeting for a cocktail at sunset on the lawn where we met with fellow vacationers staying at the Surfside. We used the barbecues a lot too! Thank you so much -- we can't wait to return for another visit!
