We loved our stay. It was clean and very comfortable. All amenities provided. Extra beach chairs, beach towels and even sunscreen. It was wonderful to sit out on the lanai every morning and drink our coffee that they left for us.

We loved everything about this condo - location, accoutrements, comfort, view, etc.
The location of the property is perfect with great access to Kona and the surrounding area. Walking distance to a great variety of restaurants and bars along the waterfront. Plus, we LOVED the ground floor, corner/end unit location on the water with a sunset view! Privacy plus quick and easy access to the complex, pool, parking and walk to town. Several local beaches with great swimming and/or snorkeling within 10-30 minutes' drive. The unit is one of the most thoroughly outfitted condos that we've ever rented - kitchenware, beachware, towels, coolers, reference books, binoculars, etc. We had everything we needed for our first visit to The Big Island. Immediate response on any questions. Beds were comfortable and the space was roomy and comfortable.
Being 15 feet from the ocean was a bonus! Beautiful sunsets and the sound of crashing waves around the clock. I would stay here again.

We had an extraordinary stay at Kona Reef D8. There were three of us, & we spent 6 glorious days & nights. The condo had everything we needed-a full assortment of glasses, coffee cups, dishes, & cookware. Spices, cooking oil-you name it. A cooler for day trips, reusable bags for shopping & snacks, towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, aloe vera gel for my sunburn. Our favorite thing to do every day was sit on the lanai in the morning & evening, watching all there was to see-a variety of birds, the surf, cruise ships, unbelievable views & colors of the sky. We also saw women swimming in preparation for Ironman. We absolutely loved our accommodations.

Clean and bright, and the perfect configuration for our family - our two young adult daughters shared the room with two twin beds. Lots of pool/beach items available to use. There are a few minor spots that could use some updating/small repairs, but overall this place is just what you see in the pictures. This first-level corner spot is nice.
Of the two places we stayed on the Big Island of Hawai'i, this was the best location. If we had to do it over again, we would stay here longer and do day trips to the destinations that are a little closer to the Hilo side. Even though we stayed in a beautiful home on the East side, it was FAR from everything. This place, on the other hand, is walkable to town and within reasonable driving distance to many other island attractions.

The location is a dream- you are steps away from the ocean and can hear it. Love the floor to ceiling windows! The condo itself is spacious, clean and very well stocked. Besides the basics, we appreciated the beach towels, cooler and other beach items; and the local treats! (thank you!) We really appreciated the responsiveness of the management company, who was always very prompt in replying and courteous. Parking was very easy. We are so happy that we found you and can't wait to come back!!!

Our family had the most incredible time at this condo. The view was absolutely beautiful and we watched the spectacular sunset every night from our lanai. The condo was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed including extra towels, beach chairs, cooler, etc. The location was perfect to walk to restaurants, shops, and the local farmer’s market. This was definitely the perfect place to stay and we will certainly be back in the future.

This condo was everything advertised and more! Lovely location right on the waterfront. Minutes walk from the shops. There were so many “extras” in the home from the spices to the beach equipment and sunscreen to the toiletries. Wow! We were impressed and happy. Thank you for a wonderful stay in Kona!

The condo was very clean and the kitchen was well equiped. The location was a perfect launching off point for many activities in the area (e.g., National Historical Sites, beaches, restaurants, and downtown Kailua Kona). Given that we had three adults staying in the unit, we appreciated having two bedrooms and full baths. Our favorite part of this condo was the lania and ocean front views, which were a fantastic place for morning coffee and dinners! In addition, we appreciated the welcome gifts provided, the cooler, and beach chairs. The cooler and chairs were great to have on day trips around the area. We would definitely stay here again and recomend this unit.

This is a wonderful condo! Great location and beautiful view! We enjoyed spending time on the lanai watching the ocean. The condo had lots of extra amenities which we appreciated - spices, many items for water sports and play, beach umbrella, lawn chairs, etc. The manager was very helpful and gracious. We really liked this condo and hope to go back there next year.

This condo was just as advertised. The location was great. The condo was very well equipped and large enough to accommodate our family. The property as a whole was definitely older and could use some renovations however that didn't affect our stay at all. Our kids loved exploring the rocks and the beach.

This is the best suite in this building. It is equipped with everything you could possibly want to make your holiday enjoyable - from guide books to beach gear. Everything was clean and neat. We had our whole family (9 people, including an infant) staying in the building, but our suite quickly ended up being the go-to location for meals and hanging out. Meals right at the waterfront were a treat!
Highly recommended and we would choose this suite again in a minute.

Our stay here was even better than we had hoped. We loved our location! We sat on the lanai in the morning, having coffee while watching surfers in front of our condo. The condo had everything we needed and the location was walking distance to restaurants, shops and a great farmer’s market. In the evening, we enjoyed beautiful sunsets! It was hard to leave and we would love to visit again!

Oh my goodness, what a tremendous property! To start it is literally 30 steps from the tide pools and ocean. The covered patio allows you to sit outside and enjoy the ocean without being out in the sun. You can also close the patio doors or just the screen door and enjoy the ocean view sounds from inside the amply air conditioned condo.
I could write such an extensive, glowing review about this place, but let me provide the highlights.
* In a town where parking can be difficult, the property is a 5 minute walk from the shops and eateries'
* The place was clean, quiet. on the first floor, and complete with all of the requisite amenities.
*The washer/dryer allowed us to pack lightly.
*They provided cleaning supplies, additional trash bags, laundry supplies, and beach implements (towels, chairs, snorkel gear)
*Televisions in each room
The place is first rate from top to bottom. From the proximity to the beach, local shops, restaurants to the overall cleanliness and convenience of the condo, we were absolutely thrilled with our stay there. We enthusiastically endorse this property! We'll be back!

Honestly, this place is paradise. being ground floor right next to the ocean doesn't get any better. Right beside Honl's Beach, which I learned is the birth place of boogie boarding. the room was so well stocked, and even has beach equipment/towels etc. Nice split AC system (very quit) with a unit in each bedroom and in the main room. the only negative part of our experience was with communication after check-out. My wife left some clothes in the dresser (2 pairs of Lululemon leggings and a pair of designer jeans), which I know isn't the responsibility of the owner or property manager, but the communication with Kona Reservations in trying to retrieve them was horrible. I called and e-mailed the day we checked out to aske if someone could have a look for them and mail them to us. initially I got an email back saying they would check, but then it took about a week to even get an answer if they found them or not. It felt like zero effort to follow up and help us. I called every day and left a message, he never returned my calls. I sent an email later in the week expressing my frustration and he passed me off to the local property manager who was very nice and helpful, but unfortunately his cleaners told him they did not find anything, nor did the next guests. We did not get the clothes back. If it wasn't for that I would rate 5 stars, just make sure you don't leave anything behind.

This was exactly as advertised - a well-maintained property with an awesome view! Ocean waves lulled us to sleep each night and the location was close to shops, restaurants and beaches. Everything from the basic linens to swim fins were provided for us. Well worth the price for a week in paradise!

Went to sleep ever night and woke up every morning to the sound of the ocean and the waves. The owners of our particular condo were very gracious when it came to sharing their paradise home. The condo was very comfortable and well stocked. The kitchen dishes, small appliances and pots and pans were top of the line.
The washer and dryer was a big plus; it was full size and able to keep up with all the laundry of five people.
The takeaway from the stay was the location right on the beach with the waves crashing outside the small wall. There were also surfers to watch and sitting out on the lanai was very special especially at sunset. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for offering such a perfect vacation opportunity.

We have just returned home from an amazing week spent at Kona Reef D8. This is one of the best appointed VRBO rentals we have encountered. Everything we could possible need during our stay was there - it was such a thoughtful touch and much appreciated. The location of this unit is just perfect. It’s an easy walk to town for restaurants and shopping. There is a surf break right outside and it was amazing to watch the surfers every day. We would absolutely look to stay here again should we return to Kona. Mahalo.

Our family stayed in this condo for a week and loved it! The condo is homey, comfortable, and cheerful. The kitchen is fully stocked and fun to cook in. We really appreciated all the beach gear - cooler, chairs, boogie boards, and towels. The pool and bbq grill area is truly delightful! The layout is spacious and AC worked great. The view is incredible and we spent hours on the patio. We walked to town to restaurants and kids walked daily to get Ululanis amazing shaved ice (easy 1 mile walk). Only things to note: Kailua Kona is not white sand beachy, it is mostly volcanic rock and the shoreline access is pretty limited. This means people come to the shore right by the condo. We liked the party vibe at sunset but just know this condo is not super quiet. The beach next door is tiny and rocky - my kids never wanted to try it. We drove to the beautiful beaches at Kua and Hapuna. The master bed mattress was pretty firm/hard (too hard for me but that is probably subjective). Comparing the value, location, view and pool - I would highly recommended this condo!

This condo is located right on the ocean, and the sound of waves and sunset nightly is wonderful! Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the condo was less than satisfactory. Upon arrival, my 1 year old began to crawl around the condo. Within 15 minutes her knees were black. As we were unpacking, we found clothes hanging in the master bathroom, in the drawers, and in the closet from the previous guests. There was trash under the sink, greasy cutlery in the drawers, and mildew/urine smelling towels in the bathroom. I immediately called the property manager and left a message. I did not receive a call back that night, and had to follow up the next day. I sent numerous pictures of the state of the condo, but it certainly doesn’t seem like anyone cared. We had to spend the first hours of our vacation cleaning a condo that was supposed to have been cleaned. With Covid, the property management company stated they were following enhanced cleaning procedures. It does not even appear that minimal cleaning procedures were applied. Throughout my stay, I continued to follow up with the property management company about my issue with the cleanliness, but was unable to receive a resolution. 2 weeks later, I am still waiting for a satisfactory resolution. I have been told that the property looked and smelled clean upon the property manager’s review. My pictures of the condo have been viewed by leadership, and they are still refusing to admit that the cleanliness of the property is anything but satisfactory.
Good location but unhelpful property management and inadequate cleaning procedures. We will not be returning to this condo in the future and will likely avoid any properties managed by this management company.
