My family of 5 stayed here for 1 week. The spectacular ocean views don't do the picture justice.
Home comes equipped with basic kitchen amenities as well as beach necessities, like towels, umbrellas, snorkel gear, sand shoes and toys.
The lanai provides outdoor comfort to eat a meal and lay back and watch the surfers, whales and waves. The owners also provided binoculars for us to enjoy the beautiful view.
Definitely eat at Da Poke shack located on the property entrance, the best poke in town and catch the sunset at the sandy beach nearby.

Right on beach, we enjoyed the unbeatable sunset and great view, very spacious, great for a group of 7 hang out and relaxing! Kitchen has everything we needed to cook meals, Unit has plenty beach towels. Easy communication with Casago. Could be easily stay for more than a month! Definitely will come back, and recommend to friends and families.

We spent an amazing Christmas holiday here. My mother lives in Kona and the property was just down the street from her condo. We were in close proximity to the downtown area and the view was simply amazing.
I would highly recommend this rental for large groups as it is in a good location and gives enough room for everyone to stretch out.

We enjoyed our stay at this condo! The location is great, very convenient to get everywhere in Kona from here. The lanai is amazing, we spent a lot of our time sitting out there and it was great for bird watching and seeing humpback whales! The building and unit itself are a little older, but still very comfortable and well-furnished.

Lots of issues reported via both text/phone, but management didn’t respond. Eventually promised follow-up > 24 hours later, that didn’t occur. Would still appreciate a discount for undisclosed major issues…
Not having any privacy in a bathroom (that four of the seven people were using) was not acceptable. The lack of doors/privacy should have been disclosed.
They came the next day to put a curtain where a door should have been - a bathroom with a clear shower door. Having to leave one of two keys for maintenance (with a party of 7 wanting to explore) was a bit of an inconvenience, as well as arriving to a broken toilet, and needing to provide access for that as well.
There was also a bug that very much resembled a cockroach (I sent them a photo) that was seen twice inside of the dishwasher. And the dishwasher compartment for soap does not close.
The furnishings on the outside patio are a little worn. Even just replacing the completely worn out cushions would be a huge upgrade.
There is a broken spindle on one of the railings, and we have a three year old… It made me very uneasy and is a huge safety concern. The railing (even where fully intact) isn't very sturdy.
Overall, we are certainly not at a five star level, as they attempted to solicit.
If there's anything Casago/owner can do to help address these issues after the fact, we would greatly appreciate it, as this was a bit of a splurge short stay, and it was shockingly lacking in several areas.

The view from the balcony cannot be matched! It was so lovely to wake up to that view daily. However, the home does need a little refresh. The kitchen is dated with some broken counter tiles, the box springs on every bed but one were not covered and the pocket doors (which are every door) are very hard to even move. Some of them didn't move at all. So there was no door on the master bath for the shower/toilet area - only a bamboo curtain. That was odd. Our bed (in the larger master) was comfortable but the other guests said their beds were just ok. Also, some plusher/newer towels would be nice and additional toilet tissue would have been a plus as well. We did run out considering there were 7 adults in the house.

This 3-star rental provides stunning oceanfront views, close proximity to activities, a plethora of equipment provided for our enjoyment, spacious accomodation, and fantastic management communication. However, the complex and unit are very aged and could use renovation and extermination. FYI, close your vehicle vents to prevent bugs from getting inside. The unit was nice but the need for renovations left us feeling like we overpaid for the stay. There was an old stale odor throughout the unit (we purchased and left an air diffuser to help with the smell), there was a water leak in one of the bedrooms celings, there were roaches in the complex, and minor cosmetic fixes which needed to be done. Despite these things, our first family vacation to Hawaii was beyond memorable.

We stayed with two families including my mother. There was plenty of space for everyone to build puzzles, play games on the deck, or for those that wanted - watch TV in their rooms (only that first night, though for TV -HaHa). The pool was clean and enjoyed by my nephew. We saw a pod of dolphins from the balcony and tide pools were right below the deck for a pre-breakfast exploration. The location was fabulous! Only downside was a slight musty smell in the bedrooms if the windows were closed.

Location was great, can’t beat falling asleep to the sound of the ocean. 4 bedrooms were perfect for 2 families traveling together. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook breakfast and dinners. The lanai accommodated the group. The table has a leaf to extend and seat us all comfortably to enjoy the beautiful mornings and breathtaking sunsets.

If you’ve stayed at Kona Bali Kai you know the location is hard to beat - on the water, da poke shake is on site - those alone merit 5+ stars. But it is also an older building and this unit needs some tlc. It was fine on most major matters - beds and pillows comfortable, multiple TVs for those inclined, good air conditioning, well appointed kitchen. The not so good: very dirty bathmats and rugs, flaking paint in places - it needs deep cleaning and some maintenance work, perfumed laundry detergent used on sheets and towels and rom freshener to mask the inevitable musty smell from unit being closed up was hard on those in our party who are sensitive to these scents; multiple outlets that don’t work (frankly the unit needs a thorough review and fixes by electrician), o multiple sliding doors on lanai didn’t lock. All of this was reported to property manager so hopefully will be addressed. Overall, it’s pluses outweigh the issues for us as we are used to staying in tropical areas where it’s challenging to keep on top of everything at times but if your not the type that can roll with some imperfections….

If you are looking for an ocean view, look no further, this balcony is squared up to the ocean and the view is unobstructed. The sunsets were amazing and there is enough furniture outside for all the guests to have a seat and to enjoy your meals. We found the location to perfect for our needs, with nice shopping and restaurants within a few miles.

We had a really nice stay at this property. Lanai was wonderful and well used by us. Condo was well stocked and spacious. Only complaint was really that there was a strong smell in the condo when we checked in - which was better when we started running fans and air conditioner. Property was very clean and a great set up for my 7 family members. New living room furniture. they need a new dishwasher. The spring for the door is shot and the soap dispenser lid is broken. The shower head broke but was promptly fixed by the maintenance man.
Over all we had a great time. It would be nice if you could swim off the property but it's too rocky. Having a washer dryer was a great bonus.

We loved the patio and view!! My family of 8, age range 19 to 74, found the condo very comfortable and in a good location for our activities. By far, the top floor view of the water (with breezes) was the best! We never needed the air conditioning. I would recommend this penthouse spot for any family gathering!

Overlooking the ocean, which is just downstairs and steps away from the elevator. Loved the location. Full kitchen was really helpful, but some of the appliances are dirty, or need to be replaced. Coffee grinder was broken. Bathrooms also a bit dirty, but mainly due to age, not poor cleaning. Not enough toilet paper for the length of the trip.
AC unit in queen master had a bad smell, so we didn’t use it, however, the room was a nice temperature with the patio door open all night.

Abundant space in this large 4 bedroom condo. The views from the large lanai were beautiful.
A nice and well stocked condo but could stand to be updated in some areas and have better maintenance as several light bulbs were burnt out and one bathroom sliding door was stuck and apparently had been quite awhile. Overall, the six of us enjoyed our time here and would certainly come back.

Property managers are extremely responsive and helpful. House works well for a group. Great lanai with beautiful view and comfortable furniture. Kitchen has everything you need. There are beach towels and other items available for the beach (although we only used the towels). Property could use a little updating. Overall, a great location and a comfortable property.

We thoroughly enjoyed our extended weekend to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The view form our lanai was out of this world beautiful. Every sunrise and sunset was so magical and spectacular. The bbq grills out doors was a bonus and we enjoyed grilling a couple of nights. The unit was plenty spacious for five adults and a four year old. We all slept well every night. Our overall rating was a four rather than a five as there were a few things that needed attention: dish washer soap dispenser did not lock, one bathroom did not have a toilet paper holder, a bathtub finish that was peeling, the master bathroom overhead vanity lights did not work and the master bathroom shower stall had large black molds surrounding the stall.

Our family of 7 (3 generations) had plenty of space and never felt crowded. The closet was stocked with lots of beach items, and we were happy the cleaning crew left some condiments in the fridge for us! The elevator was important for me (senior) and the pool and hot tub was used everyday! All of us used the binoculars daily to watch the whales and dolphins. Highly recommend this unit.

We traveled around the islands for two weeks with our family and this was my favorite spot! I loved the view from the balcony, sea turtles on the beach below and the tide pools below the condo at low tide. This place is truly a hidden gem. They also have the best poke right there on the property (make sure you get there early!). We will definitely be back!

We had a lovely visit! The layout of this condo was perfect and made the stay really enjoyable. There was plenty of spaces to be together or alone. The lanai was simply amazing - watched surfers and whales from the day and saw sea turtles in the tide pools from afar and the sunsets looked like postcards.
The beds were very comfortable and we slept well.
The location was great - close to town but still quiet. And the town itself is fun day or night.

This was an excellent place for our family of eight to spend Thanksgiving week. The sunsets from the lanai were beautiful. We enjoyed the daily surfers, dolphins, and turtles. The unit was well stocked (could use a few more coffee cups) but otherwise it was better than most places we have stayed.

A wonderful place to getaway, relax on the lanai, and explore the tide pools. The condo was well equipped with everything you might need: kitchen tools, games, washer/dryer, beach toys, and more. The two en suite bedrooms that opened onto the lanai let you fall asleep to ocean sounds. And the best poke on the island is steps away from your front door! The property is a couple miles south of the downtown waterfront area so, you're not in the middle of the busy area, but it's only a short drive away. We would definitely stay again.

This unit and the location are fantastic! Outside of a few minor issues on the maintenance front, we really enjoyed our stay. The property managers let us down a bit as two calls to them on different items garnered no response - for example, we could not find parking passes in the unit and requested them only to be told they would be delivered which never happened.

We stayed here as a graduation trip for our two granddaughters and it was wonderful. We all enjoyed the spaciousness, time on the lanai (huge), Rainbow Beach and of course the pool! Views were fantastic and we all wish we were still there! Great place!

This was an absolutely amazing stay. The location of the condo was perfect. It had everything we needed for a comfortable and wonderful stay. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking in. There is everything you need for beach days. The beds and bathrooms are lovely. The size was perfect for our larger group of family and friends.
The lanai is lovely at all times of the day. We spent so much time out there relaxing and visiting!
Location was great for all our outings - snorkeling, beach days, cliff jumping, manta ray drives, lave cave exploring, waterfalls, sunsets and star gazing and more.
We will definitely recommend this condo to our family and friends visiting Hawaii!!

We enjoyed our stay at Kona Bali Kai. Very roomy, great location. The Lanai is such a beautiful place to hang out having morning coffee, viewing the gorgeous sunset and watching the surfers. Always easy to find a spot to park in the covered garage.
