We had a wonderful stay. The views beautiful and big deck so useful and spacious in the rain. Bedrooms private with lovely views. Fantastic that we were able to put our luggage into residence a little before checking time - thank you! The hot tub was disappointing, would have loved a hot jacuzzi at the end of the day, but it did not heat. Everything else was so terrific. Although a little weathered (example the pool and pool table) everything worked out to be great for our 2 families. We would definitely stay here again!

It was a great house for our family of 8 adults and 4 kids. House had everything we needed. We spent a lot of time on the porch - Beautiful views in the mornings and ia great view of the MIlky Way at night. The pool was used by all at all times of the day. Convenient to grocery store and town. Would definitely stay there again

I thoroughly enjoyed the view of the mountains from the lanai and the pool area was also very pretty. However, on the first night, I reached out to the manager about the fridge having a steady leak and the rooms being hot. Her response was to put a cup of ice in the fridge to help with the leak. She also said to open the window for the Tradewinds. The next day, I let her know the fridge stopped leaking, she never responded back or asked any further how our stay was going. We went to Walmart and bought 2 fans, 1 for the master and 1 for the upstairs area. The upstairs and the master never cooled down the whole week we were there. My son could not sleep in the upstairs area even with the fans. The 2 small bedrooms did get cool, however. Most of the jets in the hot tub did not work during our stay. I attached a photo of it saying low flow and needing repair. There were cobwebs in the property, so I do not think it was throughly cleaned properly before our arrival. I attached a photo of the cobwebs. Overall, I’m giving 3 stars for the beauty of the property. But I am highly disappointed that we spent so much money for this week for our honeymoon, and I was hot most anytime I was in my bedroom, kitchen or living room. Also, disappointed that the manager never corrected the issue. Outside the house, the AC unit for the master was rusted so it needs to be replaced as it is not working.

This house made our entire time on Kauai magical! We are a family of 8. The house was very large with the most beautiful view of Hanalei Bay and the Na Pali coast and mountains. This house had everything! Abeautiful outdoor covered veranda with multiple loungers, a large eating area and a hot tub. The pool was large and the perfect temperature. The billiards table kept our family entertained for multiple evenings. I can’t not say enough about the size of the house and the large size of the 4 bedrooms. Thank you for letting us use your beautiful home! We will definitely be back!

We had an amazing stay at this home! The pool and hot tub was just the icing on the cake! My grandkids were content to stay home! What a blessing to wake and have coffee on the deck looking at the mountains! You felt like you were in the middle of the jungle, with nothing between you and the mountains. Well stocked home. All 11 of us slept quite comfortably!

Overall, everyone had a great time in spite of lots of rainy days. Did enjoy the changing scene, rainbows, waterfalls, clouds from the deck. We were a large group (8 and 7 at a time) there was plenty of room for all of us. Appreciated the many dining locations and we used them all. Pool and hot tub got lots of use. Slider latch from Master Bedroom to patio pool area needs repair. Also, vanity lights in bathroom need to be replaced as well as some bathroom lights upstairs. TV in living area is way to small for comfortable viewing and needs to be replaced. Emails to concierge remain unanswered.

This house is just delicious! It's in a neighborhood, but once you step through the front gate, you would never know it. The plants on either side are tall enough to block out the neighbors. and the view off the back deck is a stunning collection of various trees, and then Hanalei Bay in the distance. The house is close enough to the bay that we could hear the waves hitting the shore, and snorkeling and great restaurants were only a few minutes away. The house was also well-appointed and spacious. Loved it!

The property met our expectations and matched many of the good reviews we read. One reason we chose this property away from the ocean was the pool.
Unfortunately it was green with algae when we arrived, and despite the property manager saying the pool attendant was coming by to add chemicals. The water remained green our whole stay, preventing us from using the pool.
There were eight of us and only two beach chairs. The prop manager was kind enough to bring 6 more when we asked about them.

This house is just amazing. The views of Hanalei and the mountains & waterfalls from the backyard are absolutely glorious. The pool and lush, tropical landscaping are beautiful. We stayed with a large group (4 couples) and the house is laid out perfectly and provides so much space for everyone to enjoy. By far, the best VRBO rental I've ever stayed in. We visit Kauai every year and this will be where I aim to stay from now on.

This was our first time to rent this beautiful and spacious home, and found it a great fit for our crew!It is very well appointed with a spectacular view of Hanalei Bay that is a perfect setting for sunrise coffee while flights of Nene geese cruise overhead.The pool and home are offset from the road and surrounded by a lush and colorful tropical “jungle”. In addition to the facilities, we’ve never encountered a more personal, responsive, and genuinely caring Hawaii Life “Host” than Liz Grout.In short, a great place for a family gathering!

This well-appointed home was perfect for our group of two parents, two daughters and our younger daughter’s three friends. Everyone had a room and bathroom, and there are so many indoor and outdoor areas to enjoy together or privately.
The view from this home is mesmerizing at all times of the day, and the back patio is totally sheltered from rain. Our group loved having a pool and hot tub.
The hosts thoughtfully provided us with all the things for the beach — surf and boogie boards, snorkel gear and chairs.
We hope to return one day and thank our hosts for a fantastic vacation!

We loved the beautiful morning rainbows and the sounds and beauty of the tropical birds and flowers.
We paid to have the pool heated due that we were there in March and so glad we did. Our family really enjoyed the pool after our daily adventures.
We BBQ Dinners and fixed Breakfasts used the washer's and dryers daily washing beach towels and wet clothes. We enjoyed the surf, boogie boards & sand toys.

Our family of 7 adults and a 6 year old found this to be an excellent retreat for our 2 week vacation.We found the house to be much larger than we expected which was a pleasant surprise. The rooms were very spacious especially the living, dining, family room areas.The rear deck and front patio provided shade from the sun with ample seating space for us all.The heated pool and hot tub provided refreshing enjoyment. The maintenance and service staff were attentive to our needs.Liz Grout did an excellent job as our contact regarding the property and our needs at Hanalei Bay View.We were overjoyed with the exceptional view from the rear deck! This home has incredible potential due to its location. The Hanalei Bay view and the whole lanai experience in the backyard and in the front around the pool are absolutely majestic! Do not forget to check out the upstairs lanai as well! The bed in the master is one of the most comfortable ones I slept in, including my own. However, other home fixtures are showing their age. All of the sliding doors should be replaced as they simply don’t work as they should. They either slide from their rails or they cannot be properly shut, inviting the mosquitoes or other bugs. A number of water faucets are rusted and there’s a sewer smell from at least two toilets that was there when we entered the place. For $1,400 per night (which includes cleaning and other fees), one would expect better upkeep in this vacation rental.

I love to book unique, quirky properties and this one fit the bill. I loved all the mermaid sculptures, pool and hot tub. It was amazing sitting in the hot tub at night listening to the waves crash in. The bathrooms were also unique.
We did have some issues with cleanliness...one of the main level bedrooms smelled like urine, so my son did not want to sleep in that room. We ended up crowding all the kids into one room because they didn't feel comfortable using the other spaces. There were lots of cobwebs and gecko droppings all over the walls and some furniture. The house was cleaned, but it felt like these areas were skipped and just never addressed. The kitchen cabinets are also in pretty rough shape. My husband was disappointed there was no coffee in the morning. These were not a deal breaker for our stay, but disappointing. I did reach out to the property manager before leaving this review and nothing was done or commented on, hence why I'm leaving it this way. The house and views were really great.

From the moment we walked in the door of the house we were met with the awesome views of green foliage and mountainous volcanoes. The house had everything we could possibly need. I stayed here with my daughter, son in law, and 4 grandchildren (ages 12 to 23). Being in Princeville allowed us to explore various beaches and participate in many water activities. The pool and hot tub were enjoyed by all. The 2 washers and dryers were a great help. The beach towels and chairs were also very helpful. Kauai is our favorite island so far. Our stay at this house was everything we thought it would be and more. I still am in awe of the ever changing views of the mountains. ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you for our wonderful stay in your house. We would definitely stay here again if we don’t end up moving to Hawaii.

The house was absolutely stunning with spectacular views off the back lanai. Beds were very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the heated (by request) pool in the gorgeous courtyard, the pool table in the outdoor room, the large refrigerator and very nice kitchen. We ate all our meals on the covered lanai with card games there at night. Enjoyed the view of the mountains with waterfalls!
Our host Liz was very accommodating and personal both before and during our stay. It was great to meet her while we were there.
Besides the privacy and the wonderful landscaping on the property and the great views, the property is nestled in a quiet little neighborhood flanked by a beautiful golf coarse. Princeville is by far the nicest area to stay on the island.
If we every come to Kauai again, we would definitely consider this property first!

We used Kauai as a meeting place between our American and Australian families, and wanted somewhere quiet to spend our time. The Hanalei Bay View house was amazing, very well appointed and a short walk away from beaches and resort bars. We ended up having our dinner in the house all the nights we stayed, using the local supermarket (Woodland Princeville) for all our provisions. We would love to come back and stay again!

What a beautiful, lush view! The bey is but a sliver of the gorgeous view. Location is perfect for North Shore. When we were home, we spent majority of are time in pool or on the wonderful lanai. Some maintenance work needs to be done but property manager is aware. COVID is creating supply and service issues in Hawaii as elsewhere. Did not effect our use or enjoyment of the home. Kitchen was amazingly well equipped for any food preparation you might want. Best grocery prices at BIg Save in Hanalei. We would definitely return!

We had such a great time here at 5289 Pokii Lane! The pool was great for the kids when we weren't out beach hunting and just relaxing at the house. I have to say the best part of this house came as a bit of a surprise. When you walk out onto the back deck, the view is priceless! You can see the mountains in the back ground with a waterfall, and a lush valley in the foreground. When you add a rainbow, which we saw several times, we thought we were in heaven. It's just spectacular. This house is close to some great north shore beaches and eateries. You'll want to be mindful of being too loud as the house is a bit echoey and we did get a complaint from a neighbor early in the morning. The kids woke up early from the time change and quiet hours are enforced here. But I think that's totally reasonable. Overall our vacation was awesome and this house and view did not disappoint! Mahalo!!!

A "must stay" if you are going to Kauai! Unbelievable views from upscale house. Easy drive to Kapaa if you want. It was hard to leave the comforts of this house to go on our scheduled tours. There was more than enough room for all ten of us to be together or have time by ourselves. Host Liz was great!

We walked into the house at night and was thrilled with everything the house had to offer. We woke up in the morning to the most beautiful view you could ask for - breathtaking!! We were blown away by the amazing views of the mountain side. We would sit at the hot tub and watch the clouds roll in over the mountains and hear the birds singing. Each room was well kept. Pictures don’t do this property justice!

Th view is gorgeous, the house is gorgeous. It has lots of amenities. The house does appear tired in certain areas. Couch is dirty and worn, jacuzzi is old and sounds like a new one has been ordered. The one in pics is not what it looks like. The pool does not look like the pics. All of the edges had algae on them and the pool needs resurfaced badly. One of the bedrooms had blinds that were covered in mold. The property mgr sent someone over immediately and had removed. She is willing to work with you but in my opinion this house especially the outside fun parts have been poorly taken care of. Would I stay here again. Probably if issues are corrected. Also the pics show a b paddle board or surf board to use and there is not one to use. The front porch toward ocean - this view will give you goose bumps.

Nice home, well outfitted, some attention to detail lacking. The upstairs picture window was previously broken and a large piece of cardboard and some wood was the temporary fix we inherited. If we had small children in our group it would have been a serious safety hazard. Made our upstairs friends feel like second-class citizens. The upstairs room does not have a door. Two rooms downstairs have slatted doors -- like a closet door -- so noise comes right through from the kitchen and living room into the bedrooms. If everyone goes to bed and is quiet at the same time, not a big deal. for a multi-generational group, it was challenging. Two of the TVs were non-functional which apparently property management knew about prior to our arrival as while we didn't say anything about them, a repair person was there to fix them the minute we were checking out. The view off the back are stunning and the photos dont do them justice. If the PM can keep up with the maintenance issues and put some solid core doors in, this place is a winner. The view is incredible.

This is probably the most amazing house we have reserved on VRBO. The view from the lanai of the bay and the cliffs is unparalleled. We woke up on three mornings with rainbows over the bay. My children exclaimed : "Oh my God, dad, you have outdone yourself on this one." The house is spacious, well-kept, fully supplied, and gorgeous. The swimming pool out back was a source of relaxation after our hikes. The owners representative was always responsive and totally concerned about our welfare and comfort. As long as you are willing to walk a bit or drive a bit to get to the beach, this is an absolutely stunning house for a vacation.

We stayed in the house for 11 nights at the beginning of June. Since we weren't sure what the situation was going to be like COVID restrictions and the landslide, we splurged on a vacation rental that would be a vacation in itself, and this place did not disappoint! The view from the large back patio was simply stunning. It was also very secluded (you could barely see other houses from back there). We spent a lot of time out there looking down on Hanalei Bay and watching the birds. The courtyard in the front (where the pool is located) was another highlight. It is completely private, with lush vegetation and a very well maintained pool. There are a couple of things to look out for with the pool. First, because of the vegetation, palm branches can fall into the pool. The "pool guy", who is a total pro, will clean these out, but you may have to do a little cleanup in between his visits. Second, occasionally a frog would jump into the pool and not be able to get out. We had to use the pool net to scoop out a couple of those little guys. Another highlight were the beds--top notch quality and so comfortable. That was the best I've slept in years. Overall the house was well maintained and the manager was pleasant and prompt with her communications. I would come back to this place in a second.
One thing to be aware of is that it's a pain to access Pu'u Poa beach these days. Hanalei Bay Resort has their security people at the front gate with instructions to keep non-guests off their beach path. And the St Regis is under construction (it's totally gutted), so there's no parking for their beach path, which is apparently the "official" beach access.
