Great place to sit back and enjoy the fantastic and private ocean view. Everything was clean and well stocked. My only suggestion for an improvement is it would be nice if there was a place to sit and store shoes when entering the condo. A mixology set would also be nice.

The only issues we had were water dripping on deck, from AC unit making a huge amount of water.
Everything was absolutely wonderful! I loved having the beach chairs & coolers there to use. It was the perfect get a way, I would highly recommend it and definitely return.

Initial impression was clouded by lack of lighting of the entrance pathway near the pool since we arrived after dark and a cockroach on the kitchen floor. When we talked to the property manager the following Monday, they informed us that the underground cables feeding those lights were damaged and overdue for repair.
The kitchen was equipped very well so we were able to eat in instead of going to restaurants, which are very expensive in Hawaii.
The rest of our time was delightful. We enjoyed the amazing views of the ocean, the sunrises over Mt
Haleakala, watching sea turtles from our balcony, and the reflection of the full moon off the water at night. Downside is the fact that the bedroom is the warmest room in the apartment since A/C is a small window unit and located in the living room. When we opened both the front door and the balcony door the fierce winds blew right through and cooled the rest of the flat but not the bedroom.
For those who care about pets n the building, they allow only service animals and we met several dogs which were very well-behaved and did not bark.
We were unable to contact Maui Paradise Property Management prior to our arrival to see if the location was affected by the wildfires a week earlier and to find out if we needed to rebook a different location. VRBO was not helpful in that regard. Later found out that their office in Lahaina had completely burned down, but they still sent us the correct arrival info one week prior to arrival.

We brought our 90-year-old mother here for her birthday. She had a fabulous time. She wanted to see the ocean and buy one last time. The views so amazing that she could sit on the lanai and look over at Haleakala in the ocean. Sleeping in the living room let her hear the sound of the ocean. At night you can see the lights of Kihei. We stayed close to the airport for mom. Turned out we loved the area. Nothing was too far for a drive. We went to everywhere and came home to the best view on Maui.
Even had a local friend come over and he said wow it’s really nice here love to buy myself a place like this. The size of the unit concerned us, but in the end it was more than adequate for all three. The sofa bed was remarkably comfortable. And the king size bed, and a full dresser provided enough room to really unpack.
We even had room for our wheelchair. Thank God we were in Maalea for the wind. The only bad thing is it is a really hot week and everything just gets hot. The trades were up, so keeping the door open let the cross breeze in.
Full kitchen was great. We made the most amazing pasta with all local ingredients from farmers market and put the restaurants to shame. Having a washer and dryer is absolutely wonderful. The small pool was more than adequate and felt like a bathtub. All in all five stars. Plus we really try to check in early because of 90 year old mom. The cleaning staff is great. They were expeditiously in the morning texted us right away. MAHALO!!!

We had a great time staying here. The view was amazing and we most days watching sea turtles while we ate dinner. The location is fantastic as it is minutes away from all the major areas. We will definitely be staying here again next summer!

The property was exactly as described and just as everyone else said...THE VIEW!!! It is truly breathtaking! We had the pleasure of seeing turtles coming every night for dinner on the rocks directly in front of our lanai. Everything you need to be comfortable is available for you, we even used the boogie boards and gave it a try! The bed is very comfortable and we left the back sliding door open every night to listen to the waves. 10 out of 10...highly recommend!!

We stayed in this condo in the beginning of may and absolutely loved it. The property manager was always attentive and made sure we were set up for when we arrive on the island. The sign in process is extremely simple. As well as the sign out process of the condo. The location of this condo is absolutely wonderful you are away from lots of the tourist crowds. The view from the patio is unreal, every night at around 4pm we could see sea turtles coming up to shore and one even came up on the beach to take a nap! I highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay in Maui and not be in an overly crowded area!

The view is to die for especially if you like watching the whales from the balcony! Loved the location as it was east to get north to Lahaina and south to Kihei. Felt safe in the community and a small general store in walking distance for coffee and light lunch. Very clean property.

This place is just as it looks on the photos. Very cute, clean and comfortable. The view is absolutely stunning. We happened to arrive during one of Maui's worst rain storms. It shut the island down so all of our planned activities were cancelled. We felt so lucky to be in this condo. We were cozy and secure, with that gorgeous view to sit and ponder. We could watch the storm and enjoy the waves it brought in.
It is a short walk to some restaurants, shops, and the Aquarium and even a small local park with easy access to a gorgeous beach.
We went whale watching and saw that there were many whales within the bay area so keep watching. We did see a turtle, even with the bad storm
One of the advantages of this condo is it's location. The island kind of looks like a large turtle. This condo is on the side of the neck across from the airport. To see the island you cross this "neck" region. It is a quick crossing from the condo. We were easily able to get to the road to Hana , Haleakala National Park and up the coast on a pretty drive to Lahaina. We rented a convertible which is the best way to see the island.
Also this condo is in a much less populated area than Lahaina. We liked that there were no crowds and that it felt more like a local or owners type of area. It seemed like many people live in these condos. Everyone was friendly and we felt very safe and comfortable.
The gorgeous view from the porch was worth booking this place alone. The comfortable furniture, decorations, full kitchen and free parking were a nice bonus.

We were so happy to find this gem. The check-in was a little confusing because the front office was closed and we were unaware a registration slip would be in the condo, but that was the only hitch.
Quiet location, constant sound of the ocean whether the shutters/door were open or closed, and GORGEOUS views. We saw honu almost every day from the lanai!
If you aren't from the midwest or rural areas you might find the location less convenient because it's a 10-15 min drive to Kihei or Kahului, but we're used to that so it was no issue. There was a coffee maker available, but I went ahead and walked to the general store in the mornings for my java fix. The restaurants by the harbor mostly close before dinner, but it gave us an excuse to drive out to Kihei to try places. It's also walking distance to the Maui Ocean Center aquarium and the Pacific Whale Foundation eco-tour check-in for the Ma'alaea launches so it was a fantastic location in that respect.
The property management company was super responsive to inquiries and the service manager came out to check something we reported. I also appreciate knowing that the condo owner actually uses the condo and it isn't just an investment company taking residential property to make money.
Next time we return on our own we definitely plan to rent this unit again!

We had a great stay at Island Sands in Maalaea. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a week’s stay. The lanai is really amazing with such a beautiful view. Maalaea is centrally located so driving to South, West Maui, or Upcountry is quite easy. You are also waking distance from the harbor where a lot of the tour boats take off for Molokini. We would certainly recommend staying here for future visitors!

By far the best two things about this property are the spectacular and private balcony view of the ocean water front so close to the unit, and the fact that the property is located in a quiet, almost rural neighborhood... so much better than the high end hotels for these two reasons, in mine and my husband's opinion!!
The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed, and we really liked having access to the beach chairs and the cooler for our beach trips--that helped immensely!
A couple of things that could improve the stay:
The lighting is not good in the bedroom as no overhead light. Even with the curtain pulled away from the window and the two nightstand lights on, it was very dim and especially difficult to see well to pack up when we left. Please consider a light kit for the ceiling fan, or else switch out the darkened lamp shades so more light can be illuminated into the bedroom. The bathroom lighting was also poor and difficult to see well to do my makeup. Perhaps consider some bright warm LED lighting.
It was quite warm in the unit. It's advertised as having A/C, but the A/C unit is so small and is located clear down the hall and in the living room. We slept with the door to the bedroom open and had the fan pointing on us, but I would have preferred a cooler ambient temperature and not just a huge breeze to try to stay cool. Some nights I had difficulty sleeping due to the heat (I sleep much better when it's cooler), and it wasn't an especially hot time of the year. We visited in mid October.
Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and, as mentioned, absolutely loved the stunning ocean views and quiet surroundings!!!!!!!!!!

A nice relaxing place with a great view that’s very central in Maui to all that you could want to go see. Great accommodations so you can cook, also do laundry so you won’t have to pack as much and comfort chairs provided that you can also take to the beach. Nice quiet community with some honu neighbors who pop up regularly! I’ll definitely keep this on my favorites for future visits.

We had a dream vacation in this beautiful condo overlooking the ocean. We saw turtles from the balcony and watched the sunrise daily. The home is exactly as advertised and met our every need/want and then some. We love the location of the property because you are central to other desirable locations on the island. The owners and property managers were attentive and kind, but not intrusive in any way. We were stunned to find the breeze really was sufficient not to warrant air conditioning, although it was available and working on the property. When we come back to Maui, we are definitely going to try to stay here again. Thank you for making our vacation an experience of a lifetime.

We could not have asked for a better stay. Nice property. Exactly as advertised. Fantastic views. Great balcony. Automatic balcony shade came in handy when sun was straight on. Had a nice breeze. We only ran the air a couple of times in our 8 day stay. You do have to drive about 20 mins to get to the really good beaches but honestly, the drive is part of the experience. Right? There is a small, good beach within walking distance. Beach chairs and umbrellas were provided by condo so that was an extra bonus. Internet is fast and easy to sign on. TV in living room has Netflix, HBO max, Hulu etc sign in.
We have no complaints. Would stay here again and recommend to anyone.

We absolutely loved our stay. The location on the island was perfect. You are in between everything. It was easy to get to any excursion we chose to do. The view off the balcony provides both stunning sunrises as well as sunsets. The property was clean and the amenities were great!

This property is exactly as advertised. Comfortable bed and everything needed in the kitchen. We spent most of the time in the condo out on the lanai and saw whales and turtles. The place faces east and we strongly recommend getting up for a sunrise.
I'd rate the place itself as a 5 star but the location is not idea. About 20 minutes from anything and very few locations to get a meal or run errands. Otherwise, it's a really awesome place to explore Maui from!

We enjoyed our stay at this condo. The ocean was spectacular. the location made it easy to get to lots of different places on the island. The condo was on the older side but clean and the view was awesome. We were able to take beach walks every day. The condo was quiet and I think geared for adults which was perfect for us.

1 -Maui Properties sent me incorrect wifi info making it impossible to connect to the unit's wifi until the morning after I arrived. 2 - Dishwasher did not clean dishes. Repairman came and said the soap pod was probably stale and did not disperse. 3 - I was unable to access cable TV! I got someone from the office to come in and try to access it, nut they could not get to it either. That was very annoying as I like 60 Minutes and Jeopardy and couldn't see them. 4 - The screen door inside the front door did not lock from the inside. When the handyman came to look at it, I wasn't there and he or she made sure the screen door to the lanai worked but neglected the one that actually needed attention. I liked leaving the door open to get the air flow but would have felt better if I could have locked the screen so no one could just walk in. That was just dumb. Those were the glitches.
As for the rest, it was nice having a package of coffee when I arrived but ice cubes would have been appreciated and a Brita pitcher of water in the fridge as well.
Also, I found it annoying and unsafe to require a key to LEAVE the pool area. Is that even legal? I could think of more than one scenario where that could put someone in harm's way.
I enjoyed the pool and loved the location of the building and the unit was lovely.

We spent our 14th wedding anniversary here, and it was just perfect! We ate our meals on the lanai and watched the turtles feed. You can see them bobbing their heads, and if it’s sunny enough and they’re in the waves, you can watch them swimming under the water. The view is stunning!! The room was as described. The bed was super noisy, could use a different frame or something. We used the Tommy Bahama beach chairs provided almost daily. The ac unit and fan kept the unit surprisingly cool, even in August! The TV in the living area is super shiny if you’re into watching movies while you’re in the most beautiful paradise ;) it’s an older building so we were a little concerned when we walked up, but the unit is great. When the wind blows, you can hear it making ghost sounds, but it’s not too loud. The location is great for anything you want to do on the island, and the area is pretty quiet. Already planning our return trip! I guess we’ll bring the kids next time haha. Mahalo!

This property was just gorgeous!! We had a beach front condo, was cozy and perfect for our 2 week stay. We could watch the turtles, boats, surfers, snorkelers from the balcony and so much more. This area was windy but perfect on a hot day!! The location was great in that Lahaina, Kahului and Kihei were just a short drive away. We would definitely stay here again!

The property is right on the water, the view from the balcony is absolutely stunning. The unit has all the necessities. Kitchen has everything that you would need to cook. Washer and dryer in the unit which was great.
Maalaea is quite windy, so the wind would make a lot of noise at nights. You have to have a car if you are booking this property. There is not much going on around there. And the beach is ROCKY, so definitely don’t swim.
