We have come for several years and it truly feels like our home away from home! The area is perfect. Quiet but close to all amenities, hotels, beaches, stores and restaurants. Martha and Ben are the perfect hosts and ensure we have everything that we need. They have made several updates to the property that has only made it even better. Nightly sunset watches off the deck, sitting in the hot tub. Beautiful back yard and views from all rooms. My family will be happy to keep coming again and again! Already excited about our next stay!!!

There are several issues with the description. Needs to read at the start: Property manger is onsite and overlooks the pool, with a cutout specifically for that purpose. If you have females in your group, they will need to be prepared. You will also have to sign a waiver, which is not mentioned. There is no central A/C There are underpowered wall units throughout that will NOT cool during the day. When we asked about it, manager suggested we should go to the pool... When I expressed our displeasure, they sent someone into the house without our knowledge. All of our stuff, computers, etc. were in there, out in the open. Should never be done. The one being watched by her spouse. We were so disappointed, we left 2 days early. To their credit, they credited the 2 days, which we did not ask for or expect. The property is well situated and beautiful, but the issues and price are not worth the view. I rarely leave negative reviews... but I feel compelled to save another what we went through. Ruined our vacation. If the above does not bother you, then the views are spectacular.

This property is close to everything and at the same time private and secluded. Every amenity has been thought of and provided (they really go above and beyond). Communication with property manager is easy and they truly care about your experience there. The view is phenomenal and the neighborhood is wonderful. Don’t hesitate to stay it is fabulous!

Our main reason for booking this property was the pool we would be able to share with our families. The day we got there, the pool was freezing and unbearable to use. We ended up not using the pool once even though the weather was a sunny 80 degrees the whole 9 days. There was a hot tub but unfortunately the tub was leaking the whole time and we had to refill it frequently. There were ants in a few rooms in the home and a few cockroaches. We were unaware that we would be sharing the property/backyard and pool with the property manager 24/7. They also rang the doorbell almost every day during ours toddlers’ naps (waking them up a few times), even though we told them that it was their nap time and they were sleeping. Communication was not great before getting to the property. The property manager did not answer most emails. I did not receive the check in information prior to arrival. I ended up having to email (which no response) and call for the information and was told I should’ve already gotten that email awhile ago. Our due date and method of payment changed without notification. We were originally supposed to pay for the remaining balance by check and mailed to the manager. I contacted her to ask what address I needed to send the check to and was told that they won’t be taking check anymore and that they will charge the credit card on file and charge it 42 days in advance instead of the 30 days we were told upon booking. The property otherwise had beautiful views of the ocean and got to watch whales from the balcony.

From the moment we stepped into the house, we were thrilled at the beauty of the ocean views, the gorgeously landscaped garden with waterfall pools, and the perfectly appointed rooms, fully stocked with everything imaginable for cooking and comfort. Martha, the property manager, is responsive and knowledgeable and a great pleasure to meet. Our stay was perfect - we had everything we needed and were able to fully relax and take advantage of all the wonderful activities Maui offers. Our best vacation in Hawaii ever!

This property was perfect for our family. We stayed for two weeks at this lovely home located in Maui Meadows. It was very roomy and incredibly well stocked with everything you'd need. The yard and pool area are simply gorgeous and we spent many hours there swimming and sunning. The yard and pool area are fully gated so it's safe for young children. The lanai is spacious with lots of outdoor furniture and a grill as well as a hot tub. The lanai can be accessed from the two primary bedrooms, as well as the main living room. There is a large garage that is stocked with lots of beach chairs and beach equipment plus an extra fridge. There is an outdoor shower that is attached to the garage so it's convenient to shower off after a beach day. The towels and linens are plentiful, and the home has all the important large and small appliances and is stocked with dishwasher tabs, laundry detergent, paper towels, shower gel and shampoo as well as some basic condiments. The A/C worked great! Communication with the property manager was exceptional. They live nearby in a separate home, at the bottom of the property. The neighbourhood is a lovely (and hilly) residential area. We walked almost every day, but walking into the Wailea area would take about 40 minutes and walking back would be mostly uphill. The views and sunsets from the lanai are truly spectacular! The home decor is a bit dated as reflected in the property photos, but everything was very clean and in good repair. The furniture and beds were great.

This property is so beautiful. The photos don’t do it justice. It’s perfectly located between upscale shopping and restaurants, and cool local take out shops. The nearby beaches are great as well! Martha was helpful and made logistics easy. I highly recommend staying her.

The house was very spacious and located just off the beach with a full view of the ocean. The sunsets from the deck were magnificent. The house is in a beautiful neighborhood with colorful tropical plants and and pool adding to the overall experience on Maui. Martha had everything ready for us upon our late night arrival and checked in on us to be sure everything was in order. Thank you for making this week so special. We will be back on our next trip to Maui.

The views are stunning and sunsets spectacular from the giganic sundeck,two master bedrooms, the living room and the dining room. We prepared some fantastic meals in this large kitchen with all the utensils you'd ever want and grilled steaks on the sundeck grill where we had most of our meals while watching the sunset. The children played for hours in the Hawaiian designed backyard garden pool area. We highly recommend this home for your next family visit to Maui.

Despite the fire, we enjoyed out stay at Hale Alana. The grounds and pool area place you in a tropical paradise. The property manager left on our 4th day. The temporary caretakers left early and returned late but we only needed help lighting the BBQ which we identified the tank needed replacing. We travel to Hawaii almost every year and have stayed at some of the top areas in Wailea and Makena. The view at Hale Alana rivaled all. It does show its age. Kitchen lacks necessary cooking utensils and several things need replacing due to age. The TV monitors circa 1990,which definitely need updating to smart devices. Despite the few shortcomings, we would definitely return once the island recovers from the devastation.

WOW is the only way to describe Hale Alana. The views are amazing and the grounds are perfect. Even after the bad storms, the place was in back tip top shape quickly. We could see whales everywhere during our stay. Such a awesome sight to see breaches and blows while sitting in the hot tub. The kitchen had everything you need to cook every meal. The rooms were great with comfortable beds and linens. Martha and her husband were wonderful and on top of things. Communication was great and very responsive. Couldn't ask for more except more hours in the day to enjoy it all. Thank you again Martha for the hospitality. a hui hou!

This home is absolutely amazing! It has full views of the Ocean and an expansive patio with a hot tub that you can relax and enjoy watching the sunsets every night. It is nestled in a quiet neighborhood just above Wailea and kihei. Only a very short car ride to all the best beaches, grocery stores and restaurants. It is a clean and spacious home that is comfortable with 3 bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped and the house is loaded with all required beach gear to make visits to the ocean very easy.Martha and Ben are very responsive and attentive to all of your needs.We have stayed here several times and have already booked our next trip! I highly recommend this property!!! Truly a home away from home! Looking forward to next year already.

Hale Alana is my new Maui home! My family of 7 had such a relaxing and wonderful time vacationing in this beautiful, comfortable, welcoming paradise. House is exactly as described, well appointed & stocked, fantastic pool and amazing view. Although we enjoyed some excursions and dining on Maui most of our time was spent relaxing on the lanai or in/at the pool!! We were on the lanai by 7am everyday, moved to pool when it started getting warm then returned to lanai for sunset & star gazing!
3 bedrooms & 3 baths were all great, everyone was comfortable and also enjoyed playing cards around the inside & outside tables and lounging in the living room to catch some late night TV. If planning some beach days everything you could possibly need is in the garage. Cooler, comfy chairs, umbrella, mats & boogie boards!
You can’t go wrong with this house! Martha was very helpful at every stage of planning and met us to settle us in. Mahalo!

Do yourself a favour and book this property! It’s absolutely beautiful. My friends and I took advantage of all the house had to offer. Beautiful views, night soaks on the lanai and swimming in the natural pool. It was clean, well situated to all beaches and restaurants. They had e everything for a successful beach day including chairs, snorkels and boogie boards. Martha was an excellent host sharing all of Maui’s secret “must dos “ some of which became highlights to our trip! Mahalo Martha!

We traveled to Maui with 5 teenagers! Hale Alana was a very comfortable space for all of us, with plenty of space and amenities. The pool is absolutely amazing (although it closed at 6:30 pm, which was a little early) and the the hot tub was lovely on the deck. The house has an old-school "Hawaiian" feel and is very comfortable. The kitchen has just about every appliance you could need, plus plenty of space to prepare food. The house is fairly central to Maui activities and the Kihei beaches were awesome and easy to get to.

Our family had a wonderful stay at this beautiful house in Kehei! Our young boys loved the pool and endless searches for lizards in the backyard. The house was clean, comfortable and functional. The view from the deck was spectacular every morning. My husband used the grill for a couple home cooked meals and it said it was nice! Overall an amazing place to create lasting memories of our family trip to Maui.

Holy ****...this house was awesome! When I saw the pictures I thought it was too good to be true, but the house did not disappoint. Martha met us at the house when we first arrived and was so nice! She explained everything about the house and gave us an insight on where to go and what do in Maui. The kitchen was huge, well equipped for any meal you could possibly cook, and they even had a second fridge in the garage. The rooms were spacious, clean, and each had their own full bathroom. Two rooms had glass sliding doors that opened up the porch and had a beautiful view of the sunrise/sunset. The pool was shaded for most of the day, but when the sun was out, the pool was great. The backyard was big and had enough room for my brother and I to play some paddle ball. Finally, and in my opinion the most important thing, the location of the house was literally perfect. It was secluded in a nice neighborhood so we didn't have a lot of noise, but conveniently close enough to all the beaches, restaurants, and activities we did on the trip. I hope that one day our family can come back to Martha's place and rent it out for 2 weeks instead of 8 days. Mahalo!

My husband, two college-age daughters and I stayed at this lovely home in the Maui Meadows neighborhood for six nights. Our location felt close enough to all the amenities and beaches yet far enough away from the crowds generated by Wailea hotels. The house definitely has a "in the hills California vibe."
The best part about the house is the gorgeous views from the deck, which we most enjoyed in the morning before we left for the day and returned home to in time for sunset. We also appreciated how well equipped the home was upon our arrival and thought Martha, the property manager was helpful and a pleasure to work with.

We were a group of seven spanning three generations - three families and three bedrooms. The house was perfect - spacious, clean and extremely well-equipped. The large main deck and Weber Bar B Q were used throughout as were the small decks off each front bedroom. Sunset over the ocean, from the deck was a daily ritual. The large garage kept our two vehicles out of the sun and the second refrigerator and seemingly endless supply of beach tools, towels and toys for all ages appreciated. There were only a couple of very minor issues and they were addressed immediately to our complete satisfaction. We have no hesitation in recommending Hale Alana for anyone.

Two families stayed in this absolutely beautiful home. The views from the large family room and 2 master bedrooms are breathtaking. Hale Alana is a perfect house, indubitably. We were seven persons (5 adults and 2 teenagers).
It is fully equipped, clean, easy to be managed, extremely quiet and with a beautiful view and a very relaxing garden and swimming pool (that, even though it is small, can allow guests to have a very refreshing and relaxing bath). No one detail has disappointed us. Above all, Martha Ingalls has been a SUPERB manager, able to make us feel at home from the very first hour and taking care of all of us in a very warm and discrete way. She has been always prompt with her support and present whenever we needed any kind of support/suggestion/indication. Stunning Manager indeed! We strongly suggest Hale Alana!

We were in Maui for a family trip to celebrate 60th birthdays. This rental property made the trip such a wonderful and relaxing time. The house itself is very nicely laid out, with 3 very private/separate bedrooms and bathrooms. The living area and kitchen have beautiful décor and many items in addition to the typical rental property. The kitchen was fully stocked and the beach items (towels, coolers, snorkel gear, kids toys, chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, etc...) were extremely convenient. I would have to say the best part about this rental was the deck with its amazing view and also the pool area. The pool was very refreshing in the hot weather. The neighborhood was extremely quiet at all times and made this such a relaxing holiday. The listing indicated another tenant was located on the property, which actually was in a separate building from the main house and partially surrounded by trees. Privacy was not an issue at all.
We absolutely would love to rent this property again and will recommend it to friends and family.

Awesome location very close to the Wailea area, panoramic ocean views, spectacular sunsets. This house has everything you need for people of all ages, very well equipped with beach toys for children as well. We had both sets of grandparents stay with my wife and 2 small children, everyone had very comfortable beds. The outdoor pool was really nice, as it made you feel that you were at a local secret swimming spot, surrounded by beautiful tropical plants. I would recommend this place to anyone travelling with a large group as it was well equipped which was "the best bang for your buck", after researching other VRBO's in this area. Martha and her assistant were extremely helpful in answering any questions that you may have, and they had a helpful book which gave you the local breakdown of beaches, restaurants, and activities to enjoy. It was a pleasure to stay their, and we intend on repeating another visit at this location!

I was there with my family ranging in all ages from 13 to 85 years old, celebrating my parents 50th wedding anniversary and my dad's 85th birthday. We were there for 11 nights, which included being there over Christmas.
Martha, the property manager, had been very accommodating starting from my initial inquiry about the property. She had also been very responsive throughout the duration of our stay.
The house itself is beautiful. There are three bedrooms, all which have bathrooms in each bedroom, all with showers. The nice thing is, there are no stairs in the house to get to any of the bedrooms, they are all on the main level. There are only a few stairs going down to the family room which also lead out to the lanai.
The house was very well equipped with everything we could have needed. Starting with the kitchen, there was every kind of utensil, pot, pan, coffee makers, and plenty of dishes and silverware for enough people for days. There were more than enough towels, linens, pillows, blankets, beach towels, beach toys, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, snorkels, etc.
There is an outdoor shower which was nice, with controlled temperature, that is connected to the garage. It is convenient because as soon as you get out of the car, coming from the beach, you can get all the sand off before entering the house.
The grounds are beautiful however, a downfall for us was getting to the backyard/pool. You have to walk out the front door and down the driveway to get to the back. It felt like it wasn't part of the house. The pool is beautiful but it is VERY cold. Cold to the point that it was not enjoyable to swim in or hang out at. It is clearly stated that it is not heated but even in 80 degree weather, it was shockingly cold. The hot tub on the other hand, on the lanai, was a bonus and was really nice to have.
After paying the final payment, 60 days prior to our arrival, we were sent a bunch of instructions and rules. Included in there was a heads up that there were long term tenants living in the cottage below the house. We specifically chose this house for the privacy and having our own home and were concerned. The cottage is actually a separate property at the bottom of the driveway, it is not part of the main house at all. The tenants were not a problem at all, we never even saw them the entire 10 days we were there.
The Hale Alana house was perfect for our family. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this property.
