2 bedroom, 2 full bath oceanfront corner unit located on top floor of Kona Reef complex. Don't know if I would exactly describe this unit as a 'penthouse', as all the many units on the top floor of this complex would then be 'penthouses' also, but it's definitely a great location. Lanai looks directly down on ocean and tidepools, and a good view of pool area. Could use less decorative pillows everywhere (we had to keep shifting them all around and off of the bed and sofas), needs some Kleenex boxes, needs more supply of trash bags.

Condo was beautifully decorated and had everything we would need to make our stay special. We went to sleep hearing the waves crashing on the rocks. We spent most of our time on the lanai with the trades blowing watching the turtles and surfers.
It was a wonderful place to stay. Very comfortable and loved it.

This condo is so special. We enjoyed watching a beautiful sunset every day while we stayed. We also loved to watch dolphins jumping around from the lanai.
Minutes to walk to nice restaurants, too.
We would love to back to this condo if we will visit big island again!

Our stay at the Kona Reef was great. It's hard to find a location on the Big Island that has a walkable sandy beach and walk to town and this was it. We traveled with a 6 month old, 3 year old and 6 year old and it was easy maneuvering all around. The best tiki bar is a 10 minute walk and the Royal Kona Resort has some of the best live music line ups on the island.
On top of that, communication with Anne the owner was immediate and thorough. We were super happy and give it 5 stars all around.

The 180biew of the ocean was our favorite thing.

We have been to Kona many time and always look forward to coming back. This place was really nice and in a a great location. You can easily walk to any part of the town. We very much enjoyed the pool. We have stayed at many places in Kona and this was by far our favorite so far. We will hopefully be comming back next year.

This condo is close to town, and all the shopping. We could easily walk to and from. The pool is clean and has beautiful views of the sunset daily! The condo itself is tastefully updated and cozy. Plenty of room to relax! The lanai is also very comfortable and we really loved the lounge chairs for viewing the ocean.

Ohhh the lanai! We watched surfing, dolphins and whales as well as gorgeous sunsets. My hubby even saw the green flash! Lovely accommodation for family. We enjoyed the pool and convenient vicinity to downtown Kona.

This property was perfect. It was beautiful inside and out. The kitchen was outfitted very well and there nice extras including games, snorkel equipment, beach chairs and boogie boards. The pool area was great and the jacuzzi was hot! The beach area next to the property is great but beware of the waves, they will knock you over! Walking distance to a bunch of great restaurants and there is a notebook in the condo with all of the menus available to check out.
Highly recommend this property! We even saw dolphins from the lanai.

A37 was beautiful, the ocean views were incredible and the sounds of the waves were mesmerizing and relaxing. The only issue that we experienced was the beautiful tile floors need a deep cleaning!

The view is amazing and we really enjoyed the sunset from the balcony. It's a short walk to downtown Kona and short drive to grocery store and beautiful beaches. We really enjoyed our stay. Some snorkeling equipment needed to be updated and some missing essential in the kitchen but nothing that can make you regret. This place is hard to beat from what we saw around!

This is a nice, clean, attractive condo located close to the shopping/dining district. It has a beautiful view and is nicely equipped. Overall, this was an enjoyable place. The condo had a few minor things needing attention such as the blinds in the master bedroom and the ceiling fans working properly. The fans did work, but some pull chains were broken and the remote controls had some issues. Overall, I would recommend this place.

Our family had a wonderful stay at Anne’s condo. The view is phenomenal. Sunsets were amazing and our kids enjoyed watching surfers right outside the lanai. The unit is very nicely updated and had everything we needed including beach chairs, snorkels and boogie boards. The location is perfect, walking distance from the shops and restaurants, but away from the noise. Anne was extremely attentive and had many great tips and dining recommendations. The fishing charter she recommended was outstanding. Highly recommend staying at Anne’s place.

This condo is perfect in every way. Ocean front location with spectacular sunset view from lanlai. People come to the lawn in front of the building to see sunset and we have the best view. Condo is updated and tastefully decorated. Kitchen is stocked with everything imaginable. Water pressure is strong and AC works very well. Condo location is ideal. Few minutes walk to the restaurants and shops yet far enough from the noise and crowds. Anne was prompt at answering all my questions and even let us check in one hour early. I would definitely rebook this property!

We had a wonderful time enjoying this condo. The view is spectacular and the pool is wonderful. My kids never wanted to leave. My one criticism was there was no dishwasher soap and we were not able to buy any (lovely supply chain issues). Other than that it was very comfortable and we would love to come back.

We were lucky that this penthouse was available for a last minute trip extension at New Years. Anne was quick to respond so the rental process was seamless. We spent a lot of time on the lanai which had an amazing view; we saw dolphins swim by one morning. The primary bedroom was spacious but the guest bedroom was a little cramped. The kitchen was nice and well equipped. We even appreciated the amount of toilet paper and garbage bags that were provided (especially compared to our previous rental earlier that week!) The central A/C was a bonus! Overall, we enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it.

This was a small condo compared with other ocean-front condos we have rented in Kona at much lower prices. It is about the size of a double suite at a Residence Inn, although the bathrooms and second bedroom are significantly smaller. The condo was very dirty upon our arrival - large dust bunnies in every corner, dirt and tissues under and behind furniture, mirrors and glass table surfaces looked as though they has been swiped over with a dirty damp rag and a bad smell. It was terrible for our asthma. I contacted Anne and she immediately sent a housekeeper to spiff the place up. That is a big plus. After the housekeeper visited, it was much better on the surface, but my wife walked on the tile floors for less than a half hour wearing new white socks and will never be able to get the socks clean again. We cleared a ball of lint bigger than a softball from the dryer vent, which was a significant fire hazard. The vacuum had no suction, so we cleaned the dirt container and filter to get it working again. It was obvious from the contents that pets had stayed in the condo, despite condo association rules prohibiting pets in the condos. The filters on the kitchen exhaust fan were extremely greasy and gross, so we cleaned them.
A "penthouse" is a unit on the top floor, which this is, but also implies differentiation from other units by the inclusion of luxury features. There were no luxury features here, so listing it as a "penthouse" is a bit of a stretch.
The unit would be very comfortable for two. We had three and managed despite the dining room table having only two chairs, which were high enough my wife and I both had trouble getting our legs under the table and we are not large people. We needed to rearrange the furniture, moving the heavy sofa-bed out from under the TV in order to comfortably watch television. (The television was a very nice big screen TV.)It does sleep six when pulling out the sofa bed, but it would be crowded.
The master bath had one sink with no counter space and a walk-in shower. The guest bath was a bit larger, but not much. The master bedroom was spacious, but the guest bedroom was very small, with two twin beds taking up almost all of the space.
The lanai is very nice, but it also was very dirty. After vacuuming the rug and wiping down the table and four chairs and two padded chairs it was a nice place to spend time.
We spent far too much time cleaning considering that a rental should be immaculate.

I love Kona Reef. My husband and I make an annual trip to the Big Island for scuba diving and we like this property because of its location and the views. This two bedroom unit was top-notch - recently remodeled and very clean and comfortable. The only downside was that the patio area around the pool and hot tub was being redone and the jackhammers and construction equipment were making a racket most of the day. We were out of the condo most of this time so it wasn't that big a deal and look forward to returning when the new surfaces are installed.

The condo was nicely upgraded & decorated. Wonderful view & furnishings comfortable in the lanai & living areas. Our only disappointment was that it was not clean. Kitchen countertops have not been wiped down in obvious areas let alone in the less used areas. The sheets were terrible & stained in an area. It’s a pity as it’s a great condo. I would give this a 5 star review if it weren’t for the fact that they need a new cleaner for this condo. The extra bathroom sink in the hallway was not wiped up towards the edges. It was nasty! The bed was super soft & uncomfortable. The floors felt dirty & had not been moped in weeks or months. The worst thing is to walk into a lovely condo but to have it be unclean.

This property is amazing. If anything, the listing undersold it. We are from the NW and needed a place with A/C. Evidently that’s not all that common in Hawaii. The A/C at A37 works perfectly and kept the indoors at a temp more suitable for us from the PNW!
The view from the lanai is gorgeous. We started every day and ended every day on the lanai overlooking the ocean and listening to the crashing waves.
You are walking distance from the heart of Kona. Tons of shops and restaurants. Lots of fun stuff to do.
The condo is stocked with boogie boards, snorkel gear, umbrellas and everything you need for a trip to the beach.
We didn’t want to leave. If you stay here, you won’t want to leave either. Mahalo!

We loved this gorgeous condo and didn't want to leave! We were looking for 2 bedroom ocean-front condo that was easy walking distance to Kona town that also had top shelf furnishings and this place delivered all the above and more! The view can't be beaten. You are directly overlooking the water where my wife would enjoy her morning cup of coffee or two (or three). Unlike other lanais, this was large enough for 5-6 people to enjoy the view of the waves. Bring polarized glasses so you can see the yellow tangs feeding on the rocks below!
The inside looks just like the pictures... granite, nice fixtures, and appliances. We didn't use the pool/grill/hot tub area but easily accessible to those interested. There is also a nice green space between the building and the ocean if you want to enjoy your coffee or yoga directly by the sea.
Parking was never an issue and it was an easy walk to Kona town. The owner was always very responsive to questions prior to and during the trip. I would absolutely book this unit again. Mahalo
