Quiet, relaxing, and well priced. My family greatly enjoyed our stay. Robert and Stephanie do an excellent job maintaining the property and making guests feel welcome. We loved the location close to the Hana Highway and other Maui attractions such as the upcountry, Haleakala, and the central valley. The cottage was quite spacious and had all the basic kitchen amenities. Highly recommend.

This was a great stay for us. Very quiet, peaceful property surrounded by lush vegetation and a view of the ocean. Comfortable seating and beds, and very clean. It was so nice to have a welcome package of coffee beans and snacks! Owners communicated flawlessly and were super helpful when we needed them. Really appreciated having beach equipment available, too. We will be back!

The perfect house for exploring the windward side of the island. We were grateful for the AC in the bedrooms so we could sleep easily at night after being out and about during the day’s humidity. We loved being right off the Hana highway and the easy access to a drive to Haleakala. Paia just down the road has lovely walkable beaches with visits from turtles in the early morning and afternoon. We also loved Jaws just 2 minutes walk from the house for early morning coffee, lunches and even pizza for dinner. We’d stay here again for sure.

After staying in resorts for 13 nights it was nice to stay in this cottage nestled in vegetation on the hillside overlooking the ocean. It was very quiet and we never even saw our hosts although they live on the property. They did respond promptly when we had a problem with a smoke detector.
It was especially nice that there were lots of supplies of things you might need and everything was labeled so you didn't have to guess which switch turned on which light etc.
I would recommend this cottage highly.

We really enjoyed our stay at Robert and Stephanie's cottage. It was nice to relax, get away from crowds and explore that area of Maui. The cottage is extremely clean, well organized and had lots of kitchen equipment. The book of instructions provided was very detailed.

We stayed at the Palm Cottage for 5 nights in February 2023. It was absolutely perfect, inside & outside. The cottage was very clean and well set up and the beds were very comfortable. Robert was very helpful when we had a question about the TV. There were snacks left for us and also breakfast to get started. The carport was convenient during some heavy downpours. We highly recommend the Palm Cottage for your next stay on Maui. It's just off the Hana Highway if you want to travel to Hana & it's also close to Paia, a great place to eat and shop. Excellent in every way!!

It was nice to be in such a quiet location compared to the hustle & bustle of the coast. The floorplan is a nice use of space.
Nice grounds with avocado & lots of lemons which we ate all week.
The owner was incredibly responsive to a couple of requests we had. Overall fantastic communication and smooth logistics.

Such a great stay and location. The property is comfortable and quiet. The location is close enough to Paia and Haiku and beaches on the north side of the island. Keep in mind the northern facing beaches are not calm in the winter, but great if you want to surf (or just watch). A bit further of a drive to get to the calmer winter beaches in Kihei and Wailea but not too bad a drive through the Central Valley of Maui. Everything you need for the beach is at the unit. We put the boogie boards, beach chairs, and umbrella in our car and brought them everywhere during the entire stay, and used them everyday. Never got to snorkel but there is plenty of gear provided for this too. Robert and Stephanie were gracious hosts. We met them at the beginning of the stay and never saw them again even though they were less than 100 yards away in their residence. They responded very fast to any questions on the Vrbo app. Palm Cottage is secluded and private but part of their large property with citrus and avocado trees galore. The timing wasn’t great for fresh picked produce but we would definitely make this a preferred location if we stay in this area of Maui again. Thanks to both of you (and Ellie) for a wonderful stay.

We loved our stay at the Palm Cottage. We had fun picking fruit on the property. The lanai was great for our breakfast each morning. And the Jaws store is a quick walk for food and coffee. The location was perfect for exploring around Paia, the road to Hana, and close to Makawao.

Beautiful and serene cottage on lush green and immaculate property. Far away from the crowds. This is the real old Maui as it should be experienced. The cottage is beautifully appointed, close to Haiku and the gateway to the Upcountry and Haleakala. Also minutes from Paia and the road to Hana. The hosts were responsive and respectful of total privacy. Our experience could not have been better.

We thoroughly enjoyed out visit, the accommodation was outstanding and the location was perfect to relax. We like the cooler climate in the area, the cottage was beautiful, with lots of space and so nicely set up and thoughtfully prepared. It's just where you need to get a great early start to drive the Hana Highway. Communication and check-in were easy and smooth. We look forward to another stay in the future. Mahalo nui to our hosts!

My husband and I were very happy with this place. The pictures are accurate, and the property is very nice. The communication about checking in and checking out was clear, and we even were le to get a late checkout.
It is not too far from the town of Paia, where we went a couple of times for dinner.

The Palm Cottage in Maui is the best home my wife and I have stayed at in the past 14 years of using Home Away and VRBO. Robert and Stephanie are excellent hosts. The home was immaculate in details and cleanliness when we arrived late in the evening. We informed Robert on our later arrival and he had the lights on waiting for us. They left very respectful notes in areas around the home to remind us of certain activities that we needed to do to enhance our stay and protect their property.
The grounds are BEAUTIFUL, RELAXING, QUIET, and PRIVATE. The only sounds you can here are from nature or complete silence after dark.
So many things to do within one hour from our home away from home.
We recommend anyone to pick this home for your future trip to Maui. We will!

Beautiful setting and total privacy in the Palm Cottage. The hosts provided so many things for the beach and the kitchen, that if you think something is missing, you just have not yet opened the right cabinet door. Great base for exploring Maui (Close to Hana. Upcountry/Makawao, Volcano hiking and the airport). As a note North Maui beaches are for surfing/turtle watching/playing in the sand but not really for swimming. Suggest as base for adventure/get away from it all vacation.

It was our favorite part of Maui. Very green and relaxing area! The property had everything we needed. For anyone staying here... Just pack clothes. They provide everything from toiletries, towels, beach supplies, coffee etc etc etc. Very nice property and super clean. Walking distance to a cafe/pizza place, 5 mile drive to groceries or Food trucks, great area to run in the mornings or layout in privacy in front of the house. Thanks for a relaxing week!

Baked in Maui, a popular local bakery coffee shop and one of our favorite go to spots when we come to Maui is just 5 minutes away. The location was perfect for us to spend a week visiting family in Haiku. The owners were gracious and available to answer all our questions. The kitchen was well stocked and the extra snacks and breakfast cereals provided were welcome. It was just a short drive to Haiku Market for groceries. We ate lunch at Colleen’s a couple of times and had dinner at Flatbread Pizza in Paia. I love the special touch of robes and slippers! The laundry machines were new and clean. We loved our home and will definitely return

The property is well maintained, lots of lychee, guava, citrus trees in the property, we really enjoyed eating fresh fruit off the trees. Kitchen is well stocked, really appreciated the welcome box with snacks and cereals.

I suspect the hosts have done a large amount of travel in other rentals over the years - because they addressed literally every possible point of friction possible in a vacation rental.
The communication for what is provided is clear, as are expectations of occupants. I found this very helpful, being the parent of children - we knew up front what the rules were on the property and could avoid causing unintentional trouble.
The hosts are very responsive and professional.
The cottage is setup for you to enjoy your stay the second you walk in the door. All amenities you could reasonably expect are present. Everything is documented and explained - no guessing which switch does what, or how you should consider using the appliances.
And possibly most important to travelers - the cottage itself is immaculate and has a great layout. The open area of kitchen/dining and living room feels spacious for the times when you're between adventures. And the lanai is just a great spot to hang a bit / eat a meal.
We just loved out stay here, and a hearty mahalo to the owners for crafting this experience to share. If you're looking for a cute little place to stay in the lush area of Maui - put this at the top of your list.

This space was quiet, quaint, island craftsman, well-equipped, & clean… but MOST importantly, the location was beautifullllll. We watched the sunsets from the lanai and stars from the yard, and enjoyed the lush surroundings and tasting the fruit from the trees on property. All 4 of us love the north shore and this chill cottage was a perfect home base for all of it!

Very nice little cottage away from the main hustle of the bigger towns. Very convenient to the beginning of the Hana Road and a very short drive to the airport. Cottage was clean and cozy. Owners were very friendly. Definitely will stay again when visiting Maui.

The home and property are amazing. Everything has been updated and is extremely clean. The owner provides all you need - not just linens, towels, bath and kitchen accessories/appliances...but laundry soap, coffee, snacks (many and big variety), fans, etc.. you literally need to bring just your clothes/shoes/personal toiletries. The bed/pillows/couch/chairs/TV are very nice and comfy. Excellent quality! Lots of great instructions and communication from the owner prior to/during/after our stay. Never saw anyone at the property and so peaceful. Even though the home is located about a 45 minute drive from Kaanapali/Lahaina where we like to shop and eat, we didn't mind the drive. It's beautiful scenery and there is no comparison of staying in this amazing house with incredible property versus a hotel in Kaanapali, where we have stayed prior. The airport is just a 30 minute drive, but again a beautiful scenic drive.

Robert and Stephanie's Tranquil Palms Cottage is a perfect place for small family or couple looking to get away from the crowds and enjoy Maui like a native. Quiet, private, comfortable pretty well sums it up. The outdoor dining deck is the star attraction. We took every evening meal on the porch, enjoying the ambience of the surroundings and the long view out to the ocean.

Upon arriving in Maui, I had to undergo an unexpected appendectomy and once discharged from the hospital and arriving at Palm Cottage it was a breath of fresh air! It was extremely clean, cozy and comfortable (which added to my relaxation & my healing). During the day the sounds of the breeze and the birds were peaceful. In the evening watching the sunset on the porch was a perfect way to end the day. At night the sounds of crickets helped me fall asleep. The host Robert was so friendly to visit with and very welcoming. He left avocados outside our unit one day when we arrived back at the cottage. We picked fresh lemons from the property and enjoyed the outside grounds. The cottage was spacious and had all the amenities needed for our stay. There was fresh coffee beans, snacks, cereal and banana bread for us upon our arrival. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a peaceful, less touristy stay and wanting peace & serenity. Looking forward to staying here again on our next visit.

Location sits right dab in the middle of the Island. 7 min from the start of Road to Hana. Whether you want to drive to the North Shore or South Shore it's the same distance both ways. Great for everything there is to do on this island. There is a brunch/coffee shop called Jaws with a water machine outside right on the street, it's great. The house itself was only used for sleep so I have nothing else to add about the house.
The only some what down to this location is that it is a guest house and the owners home is right behind the cottage, I missed that in the description. If you don't mind the owners walking their dog around the cottage then you're all good with this location.

This is located not far from the road to Hana. The cottage is VERY well maintained and SUPER clean and organized. The grounds are beautiful and the owners were extremely helpful anytime we reached out for information or recommendations. We really loved staying here and would definitely stay here again.

The property listing is accurate and very nice. Robert and Stephanie were great hosts and easily reachable and attentive— they also gave us our privacy and were never intrusive by any means. The house is beautiful, clean, nice breeze with Palms surrounding the cottage, and felt like an easy drive to wherever we were going…. The kitchen was great as we could prepare many of our own meals to save on $$$ (stop at Costco/Walmart/Target when you leave the airport and save yourself some time). Basic cereals, banana bread, granola bars, a few snacks, along with coffee beans to grind for coffee, along with almond milk were provided by Robert and Stephanie, which was a nice gesture. I would definitely recommend this place for people who want quiet time for relaxation and away from the hustle and bustle of touristy areas.

This was the perfect rental for my fiancé and I's mini getaway to Maui. Everything was fantastic- from the communication prior to arriving, the check in process, the accuracy of the listing....how tranquil it is! We couldn't be happier with Robert & Stephanie's way of being. We knew they were around if we needed anything but also felt a great sense of privacy. What an absolute amazing and private getaway this hidden gem is. Feeling of being right in the middle of the jungle while not being so far out of town that you're spending the whole time driving to get back into town. A group of four of us stayed at this beautiful and relaxing house for three nights. The location is nice and secluded, but not too far from Paia or Haiku town. It was perfect for what we wanted. We had a fantastic stay. Property was clean, bright and and quiet—the perfect jumping off point to explore the upcountry. With our friends renting the other property we were able to have great days out and nice evenings in playing games and enjoying dinners in the well stocked kitchen as the sun went down. And in the morning I’d watch the sun come up while reading my book and snacking on a bowl full of juicy lychee plucked straight from tree.

The cottage was wonderful. They thought of everything to make our stay great. It was located in a quiet neighborhood. It was a great spot to stay to drive to Hana or to the top of Haleakala. The hosts were very responsive, helpful and nice. The beds were comfortable. The air-conditioning in the bedroom worked well. The check in and check out were easy. They thought about and provided so many things that made a stay great - towels, boogie boards, cooler bags, a stocked kitchen and snacks. There was parking right outside the door. We would love to stay there again.
